I order 2 dozen crabs from here at least once a month and with that I'm satisfied but yesterday I had a different seafood craving so I ventured here and got the ultimate fried seafood platter. It came with three pieces of fish that were rubbery and had a weird after taste. A few scallops that were ok. A few steamed shrimp, the best thing on the platter but not anywhere near the best I've ever had. Three fried shrimp, I've had better from my local carry out. And a huge crab cake that was mostly filler and parsley. My son can eat crab cakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but took one bite and gave it back, terrible! Came with seasoned fries and watery cole slaw. A waste of $20. Despite all the negative reviews I decided to try Cameron's out and I'm glad I did. I got the catfish platter with rice and fried mushrooms. The catfish was some of the best I've ever had!!! The outside was crisped so perfectly and the inside was so light and flavorful. The fish and the sides were a really good portion. Enough for two meals. The rice was good and the mushrooms were kinda weird but not terrible. I'd definitely go back for the catfish but probably spring for veggies instead of mushrooms. This was my first time and next time I might try something new because if they cooked catfish that perfect how could they go wrong with anything else? lol read more

Worst carb cake of my life. Flavor was bland, dry and nothing but breader (very little crab meat). In addition, the cole slaw was soaked in mayonnaise and the fries were even distasteful. I was taking my 7 year old to Ihop next door, but my daughter saw the sign and wanted shrimp and crabs instead. My daughter loves Red Lobster, so I decided to treat her. We ordered the Alaskan Crab Legs. It was about ok. However, I also ordered 2 shrimp scampi dinners. This was the nastiest shrimp scampi that I have ever had in my life. The shrimp was chewy and overcooked. It tasted like it was seasoned with a mixture of tomato paste and extra salt. It was soooo salty that I had to mix it with the hush puppies and fried okra and rice, so my mouth wouldn't taste so salty. The rice and fried okra was bland, but the hush puppies were good. (That's why I gave it one star.) My daughter ate one shrimp and her 5 skinny crablegs and refused to eat the shrimp scampi because she said that it is nasty. I had to eat that nasty shi! (it took me 3 days to get it all down) because I just don't like to waste money. I work too hard to buy just to throw it away, but this is just disgusting. I should have read the reviews before I came here. Obviously, this place doesn't compare to Timbuktu or G & M seafood, but we would have been better off going to IHOP because it taste better than this. read more

SEAFOOD AT IT'S BEST! The food is Excellent! No matter what you order. I always get the seafood platter..So i can taste everything lol..I travel all the way from Arlington just to eat there. We don't have anything close to fresh seafood in Arlington, So my family and I look forward to eating there every chance we get. We have tried other Cameron's at other locations but my family and I enjoy the friendly staff and Manager (Philip) at the Cameron's seafood at Rivertowne Commons in Oxon Hill on Oxon Hill Rd. Nothing against the other establishments, But Philip is one of the best parts about Cameron's. He greets you with a smile and he gives my family and I the best of who he is and the BEST that Cameron's has to offer. :D read more

I frequently visited Camerons seafood and have enjoyed it until today. I ordered the fried flounder platter and I was very disappointed. The flounder was fillet very thin, tasteless, rubbery and the fries were extremely greasy. I dont know who told them to change their cook but they should definitely look into hiring a new one. I visited the Oxon Hill location yesterday to find it completely overcrowded! There were twenty three people waiting on line In that very small space with total disregard for the mandatory social distancing the governor has invoked. The place was a total mess. People complaining their orders were incorrect. Others complained they had been waiting far too long. This business has no regard for keeping staff or patrons safe. It needs a lesson in both. The six foot distancing must be enforced and no more than 10 people in that very small space would be the least the company should impose. This is a how the virus is spread. Cameron Seafood MUST enforce social distancing and put peoples lives over profit. read more

I ordered 2 dozen of crabs and shrimp and was highly disappointed in them. The shrimp were just ok,nothing to jump and dance about. Now, the 2 dozen of crabs was a big disappointment. The crabs were extremely small with barely any meat in the inside. They also had no flavor it seems like they steamed them and just threw some seasoning on top. I really enjoy the fried shrimp , but it's kinda pricey for 8 shrimp that are mostly bread . Also, they are so slow when preparing your food. The small store front can be full and the food prep will move like molasses. I would like the price to go down or add fries to it, bc the price does not match the quantity. read more

I went there Saturday night and ordered crabs (12.99) for a dozen and mussels (5.99) for a LB. I should have known something wasn't right when the mussels were that cheap came home and only ate 4 mussels because they tasted so bad like there were contaminated or something, 3am going into Sunday I woke up with the worse stomach pain..as of right now I'm having diarrhea and on & off stomach pain.. it's to the point where know my sister has to drive me to the emergency room because it's been almost 48 hrs of abdominal pain, bloating, gassy, and diarrhea. I've loved this place for years and have been eating here since they opened beside IHOP. However, I'll never eat here again!!!!! I think they may have gotten a new cook and the food taste completely different. I'm allergic to milk and have never had a problem with their Crab Gumbo Soup or their crab cakes. Haven't been here in over a year. Looks like the food quality has improved drastically. Ordered the crab gumbo soup and fried shrimp platter. I was amazed as to the quality of the gumbo. Better than most you can find at the pricier seafood places off King Street. Hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The fried shrimp was excellent as well compared to the last time I've had it here. Cole slaw was pretty good. Fries looked good initially but were slightly disappointing. Overall, the amount of food provided and quality could not be beat for the price. Sunday, May 1, 2016 ordered 1 dozen female crabs and 1 dozen male crabs. Sweetest crabs I've had in a long time. Cooked to perfection, very fresh, good size and meaty. Okay, they weren't jumbo or whales that I usually purchase for top dollar someone else, but these actually tasted better than those.. YOU CERTAINLY CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE FOR QUALITY YOU RECEIVE.
