My family and I had the worst experience here. To be more specific, their employee Cindy behaved in a way only someone with OUT any morals, values or integrity would. We spend hundreds of dollars here and next door, and never have any of us ever been treated this way. People like Cindy do not belong in retail/customer service but there is a special place for people like Cindy. This is a beautiful beautiful boutique. The clothes are of the moment, very chic but also very expensive. It's like walking into a Paris boutique. I love the shoes and the dresses but I haven't bought anything yet. They also have lovely delicate jewelry pieces. It's worth a look through, especially if you are looking for a very special dress for a special occasion. They also had a few wedding type dresses in the back. Something you would see a model or actress wear. If you have a few moments, browse....and dream of all the great places you could wear a "dress like that." read more

May I just say... WOW? Every piece is this unique independent store is stunning! The store is full of gorgeous, well designed, unique and well made clothing from independent designers and has accessories that are hand selected by the owner. You'll feel like you've stepped into a boutique in Soho or the Born district in Barcelona. Almost every item is a tribute to the best in textiles. The clothes are avant garde and ageless at the same time. I have bought presents for both bought my 80 year old fashionista mother and 19 year old art school cousin here. The staff are very helpful and attentive, but the jewel is Camille herself. So warm, helpful and insightful. The store carries a wide range of sizes (which is easy on the ego), as well as well thought out selection of shoes, jewelry and other smart accessories. I'm starting to believe that all these sweet boutique shops on Mission all have a heart and soul of their own style. =) Camille's definitely reflects one of quirky serenity. A lot of tastefully chosen dresses, tops, bottoms, shoes and jewelry independent designers to choose from. There's a small section for all things bridal related. Exquisite, yet simple chic headbands - think plumes of white sleek feather with bird cage veil, delicate flowers with fish net. Her jewlerly complements the same style as the head wear - chic with a vintage twist. *adores* The only gripe is that most of the items are too pricey for me. The head band I mentioned above? $80. And the oh so beautiful necklace to go with it? Approximately $50-$120. =( There are a few on sale items, like interesting shoes for $20-$65. This is a wonderful local boutique selling unique and classic, up-to-the-minute fashions. I went in just to look around for my graduation dress and I ended up trying on so many beautiful frocks, it was difficult to make a decision! The staff was more than helpful and complimentary. They really tuned in to what I was looking for and took care of me. I'm not a frequenter of high-end clothing stores and I did not feel out of place here at all. I drove from Simi Valley to Pasadena because a manufacturer's website said that Camille's carries its products. They did not. Nonetheless, Michelle took it upon herself to order what I needed directly from the manufacturer. Not only that, she had it shipped directly to my home so that I did not have to make the trip back to Camille's. The pants arrived today and they are exactly what I needed. I have a bittersweet relationship with the Boutique. 10 years ago I was looking for a wedding dress for an August wedding. I found the perfect dress in this shop. I decided to look around a bit more. When I came back to the shop every single wedding dress was on sale except for the one I wanted to buy. The woman running the shop smiled snarkily/knowingly at me, certain that I'd simply get the stupid dress. The stress of preparing everything for the wedding put me in a mood that ensured I wouldn't go for such blatant extortion. I didn't get the dress. I wore an unconventional black dress instead. I've always regretted not having that dress for my wedding. And I've always thought the ladies who ran this shop were a greedy little bunch. Haven't been back. I think Camille's boutique may be my favorite place to shop on this planet. Every time I walk through the door -- usually just stepping over from Rue de Mimo next door -- I know I'm about to find a new favorite dress, hat or headband. Everything in the place is a work of art and makes the wearer look like one, too! You can find everything from camisoles to a wedding dress here, and you may just leave with shoes, a shawl, and jewelry to complete your gorgeous ensemble. The staff deserves a lot of praise, as they make you feel comfortable and help you find what you're looking for. Best of all is Camille herself. Not only does she design the most flattering clothes in the shop, but she will devote herself personally to making you look beautiful. Just let go and try on what she brings you and you will be amazed at how her picks make you look and feel. I LOVE this store and that 3 stores are connected - all very elegant and artsy. I shopped here and a Rue de Mimo. I can't believe I have kept walking by these stores and am so glad I finally stopped in. Fashion forward, quality, and reasonably prices. I hate buying (and paying for) distinctive clothing that EVERYONE else is wearing. This store and their neighbors offer lovely elegant garments that you won't see on everyone else. I was looking for a dress for the Mother-of-the-Bride. I tried shopping online and going to the different local stores in town, but found the dresses are too similar, old looking, and no pizzazz! I finally went to my favorite store, Camille, in South Pasadena and found my perfect dress! In fact, I found TWO perfect dresses that would be lovely for my daughter's wedding. It was such an "aha moment" that I didn't have to look any further. The staff was wonderful and so attentive. They knew I had a budget and they looked for my perfect dresses in my price range. This is my special place to go when I need something dressy. I've been a customer since they were at the first location. This shop is really unique because it reflects the taste and heart of the owner (who is usually there). She genuinely loves what she does and also truly likes people. That's not always true in boutiques. You can come in and either she or her delightful salesgals will help you put something together. You don't have to worry about running into someone else with the same outfit at your event. There is no hard sell here, none of the pushiness you might get elsewhere. Most of my dressy outfits are from here, including some velvet coats. The owner has a great eye, so the textile quality and design makes these clothes timeless. I wear these outfits year after year, and although they are hip and stylish, they also never go out of style. I always get compliments. But the best part is that within a time limit, she will allow returns. So few boutiques do this anymore. So if you go home and find you have something too close to it in your closet, or that it doesn't go with the skirt you were trying to match, you can get a store credit. I held onto one store credit for a long time (didn't have an "occasion") and was concerned whether it would still be good. But she still honored it with no problem, much to my delight and relief. Now I will be her customer for life. She also does great wedding outfits and some custom work (which I've never had done but would love to). There is a great selection of dressy shoes, especially mother of the bride type selections (but not the usual boring stuff). This is such a nice, welcoming place, I highly recommend it if you have some special event coming up. read more

Poor customer service. I won a silent auction package that included a dress from Camille. The dress was a size large (which I didn't know until after I won the bid), I am a size small. I went to the boutique to see if they had a smaller size, which they didn't. (The original price was about $100 and it was marked for sale at about $30.) I asked if I could exchange it -- even for the sale price of $30 -- and was told by Camille that that was not an option since she had donated the dress for the silent auction. She suggested I have it altered, which would have cost more than the value of the dress itself. I was disappointed at the poor customer service from the business owner. Had she given me the option to exchange the dress for the $30 sale price, I would have spent more than $30 in merchandise since most everything in the store is pretty pricey. read more
