We were referred to this location by a friend. I waited (impatiently) for my puppy to grow old enough to be a "Camper" here. (Their first day is FREE). Our experience was GREAT from the minute we walked in. Although young, the engaged staff was attentive and interactive. I was offered a tour of the facility; everything appeared clean, organized & well planned. Their app with access to camper play areas on video is a wonderful way to check in on your pet. I watched his interaction with other dogs and the staff, as well as other play areas and the staff thoroughly cleaning floors/sections when dogs went outside for a time. I found Camp Bow Wow on Yelp. There were a few but non-recent 1 star ratings on overnights and I was dropping off both wolves for a bath. The place is very clean and I liked the furniture and comfort this provided as I waited for my turn. Coffee, clean restrooms for customers, and available Wifi were definitely major pluses compared to other overnight/grooming facilities I have used in the past. I took the tour and liked the size and cleanliness of the overnight kennels and the hours allowed for playtime with other dogs. Both dogs will be tested for compatibility, a rule they have before daycare or overnight stays are allowed. Prices are very reasonable, and I do appreciate the cameras available to watch your pets when they are at play. The baths were done well and both wolves were happy with the outcomes. read more

We went today for the "interview." When we entered, the strong odor of dog urine was overwhelming, but we wanted to give it a fair chance. We stayed for the "30 minute interview" trying to view the interview on the lobby grainy and dark TV. We nervously left our pup for the minimum time behind the walls. We were worried while we were waiting to go back to get our pup.... Great facility and so cutely themed!! Inside really looks like a camp cabin for our fur babies! My boyfriend and I were looking for different boarding places for our dog when we would be on vacation for a week and found Camp Bow Wow! We had an incredible boarding experience as through their app you can watch your dog out in the different play yards through their live feed cameras! It was something Ive never experienced before with different dog boarding places and really kept us as ease that we could check in on him during his stay. We have since been back for his day camp and will continue to be back! Staff here is really great, and feels like they care for the dogs here as if they were their own. They do really communicate if there were any hiccups during the stay/day play which makes me feel better knowing they wont try to hide anything that may happen, as sometimes things do between dogs. I took my golden doodle here for overnight boarding as well as daycare for 2 days. The appeal of this place was the doggie cams they have in place in the play areas and the ALL DAY play that is included with the daycare. Well, it turns out your dog may be secluded or sequestered by themselves for whatever reason. The first day I only saw my dog on camera in the play area for 2 hours, maybe less but I was only able to check starting at 1pm. I know that I did not see him until that evening around 4 in one of the playrooms. The second day, I watched the cameras all day and he was only in the play room with others for one hour! Other dogs were in the playroom all day, but not mine! Where was he and why did they keep him locked up? When I arrived for his pick up, I asked them why did he not get the all day play and I was given a very poor excuse about him not being completely acclimated to his environment. But when I did see him on camera, he was playing and having a good time, being friendly. I've brought my dog here a few times before and they never told me of any issues. As a matter of fact they've commented previously on his good behavior. I will not bring my dog back to this place and I cannot recommend this business to anyone. I feel that they may have their regulars that they keep in the playpen all day and the others are locked away in a kennel. I could have left my dog at home and saved money had I known he would be by himself. If you take your dog here, make sure you monitor the camera! I am so disappointed with this business and it is a clear indication they are motivated by money and not by the love and passion of pets. read more

This is the most adorable place to bring your dog! Prior to registering for day camp your dog is required to have an interview day in which they become familiar with your dog and request that the dog come to a play session as an assessment. There was also an offer for a discounted package for day camp newcomers when I registered. This was helpful because with my dog being new to day camp I was not sure if she would actually enjoy it. However, with the discounted package, I was able to allow her to get the feel for it w/o committing to full priced day camp. The staff seems very caring. Reserving is quick and "hassle-free". My favorite feature of this place is that there is a smartphone app so that owners can peek in on their dogs during their playtime. My dogs have been attending Camp Bow Wow for several years. Weeks ago I booked a daycare appointment for September 3rd over the phone. Today I recieved a message the reservation has been cancelled because they do not allow daycare on holiday weekends. I wish I had been told this when I made the reservation. I was told I had been notified by email, however when I checked, they have the wrong email. I explained to Karina, I had updated my email upon getting a new one, back in January. Her response was "I guess it didn't change in the system." I like Camp Bow Wow. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I realize everyone is short staffed and working as hard as they can. I just wish when I booked at Camp Bow Wow I had been informed, at that time, holiday daycare is not allowed. The lack of customer service here is astounding. There are a number of younger individuals who work here who simply lack professionalism, customer service skills and can't provide any appropriate responses when addressing concerns. I took my dog here recently for boarding and discovered that one of his meals was skipped as there was a bag left over when I picked him up. When I called to ask how and why this happened, I was told that a 'consumption card' should have been provided that explained everything. Unfortunately, no card was provided so I have no clue when they didn't feed my dog. Upon calling and speaking with Ashton, I was told that sometimes mistakes occur and that there were new team members who were still being trained, so this is probably why my dog wasn't fed. Sadly, this is the second time this has occurred. I chose this place because of location and convenience, but the service has gotten progressively worse over the last few months. read more

Prices steadily went up, crowding kept getting worse and care for our dog got less and less. We just got done with our first visit here, and I'm a huge fan! The rates are very reasonable ($25/day for camp, $35/night for boarding), the staff is gentle, knowledgeable, and friendly, the facility is spotless, and the care is evident. We brought Debo, our Chihuahua, today for his interview and first visit. We were able to watch him on a webcam the entire time (and kind of did, we're overprotective first-time pet owners!). After the session, the counselors explained in detail how his session went. He was given a report card that listed the names of the dogs he played with most, rated his behavior, detailed whether or not he slept, ate, etc. It was also full of funny commentary, which was nice. I will never take any of pets to this location ever again. I normally never write reviews but I definitely want to inform other pet parents of what happened to my healthy and happy puppy after taking him to this facility for 3 days. Let me begin with the fact that my 5 month old puppy went in on a Friday for an interview, passed the interview. So I paid for a full week of doggy daycare. I then took him Monday, he came home and was exhausted. I thought wow this is going to be great he's getting socialized with other dogs, he's getting some energy out. Tuesday I take him again for a full day, after picking him up I notice a weird odor coming from him I didn't think that much of it, so I gave him a bath. Wednesday rolls around, I take him again because I did book a full week of doggie day care. Well Wednesday, we pick him up again and the oder is awful and he is extremely exhausted, the entire urine odor/smell then was in my car and that wasn't even the worst part. We come home and I immediately but him in the bath while I am washing him I notice dog poo on the side of him. As I am continuing to wash him I am notice that he's completely staying still, not moving around in the tub or anything which is very odd for him. I then go to wash his neck and I notice green snot coming out of his nose?????? I then panic what's wrong with my dog. Thursday morning rolls around I call my vet first thing in the morning. They mention his symptoms sound like kennel cough. I then call Camp bow wow to inform them they inform me that well please confirm with the vet first then call us back. The vet confirms it's kennel cough with a secondary upper respiratory infection. I call Camp bow wow back to tell them he has kennel cough and they tell me" Well we hope your puppy gets better but just so you are aware.... He will not be able to come back for at least 2 weeks. Yeah no kidding, I will never be bringing him BACK! It's completely obvious that the facility is unsanitary. I'd also like to mention that my puppy has been on medication for 3 weeks is now going in to get X-rays done tomorrow because the vet is concerned that he is not getting better. I am extremely upset with myself that I even thought taking him to this facility was a good idea. If you care about your pets and their well being I urge you to think twice about taking them to this facility!!!! read more

This place is great as a daycare as well as doggy boarding. We have been dropping our pup off here once in a while during work hours to get her exercise and get her better acquainted with other dogs. Camp Bow Wow has cameras for all their campgrounds and it is real fun to watch as your doggies run around playing tag, or wanting the camp counsellors' petting, or sniffing other dogs' pee, doing the usual doggy stuff. They have doggy steps for the pups to play on. The counsellors are always attentive and sweet with the dogs. For overnight boarding, they give your dogs their own "campsite" and they get their own cots and a PB kong every night. They send the dogs home with a little certificate about what the dog did and whether he/she was good/naughty/rowdy etc. They also do dog training, either one on one or group. I am totally in love with this place. And although your dog may bring home every other dog's smell on her, you'll be glad to see how much exercise they get and how tired she will be later, so you can go have some mommy/daddy time without having to worry about them needing attention. All my dog does after coming home from Camp Bow Wow is sleep because she's so exhausted from all the fun. read more

We have been sending our pup here since we got him in September. We have always have had positive interactions with the staff every time we've come to bring him and pick him up. He goes to "school" as we call it, a couple of times a week and we have also used their boarding services. One particular time we were using boarding services and we were across the country we received a call that our pup had been a little under the weather. They handled The situation with love and professionalism and made sure that we were given constant updates on how he was doing. It was great having peace of mind that he was being taken care of while we were away. Very very happy with our experience w Camp Bow Wow. I have a beautiful Cavalier King Charles who has been going to Camp for the last two months for half days a few times a week. She is a lovely little puppy with lots of puppy energy and I wanted her to enjoy the company of other small dogs in a safe environment. Camp BW is staffed with terrific people whom I've grown to trust and my pup adores. I can not recommend for overnight boarding as we have no plans to board but for day care this is a super place. I have a 7 month old frenchie mix that loves to play! Working from home can be tough, so I like to drop my pup off for an occasional half day to play. I love that you can chose between 1/2 day and full day, as that isn't a choice at many other dog day cares. The camera systems are really cool, I like checking in every once in a while to make sure he's having fun. He doesn't love saying goodbye (some separation anxiety), but as soon as he is back in the play area he's totally fine, so don't hesitate to try this place with even your most clingy dogs! The employees interact with the dogs giving them pets and attention without it distracting them from keeping an eye on all the dogs. They are also separated into different groups based on size, which is great. He is about 28 lbs and the "small" group is a perfect fit for him. The interview process was really great, and again not something I've seen offered at other places. It makes me much more comfortable knowing that dogs must "pass" the interview to come back. We were given a complete tour that was very detailed. I also loved that they put his name on their chalkboard to welcome him his first day! They really think of everything. I read online prior that my pup might be sore/have sore paws after the first day, which is normal when they are playing on new surfaces. This was definitely the case with mine, so after about 5-6 hours I picked him up. Snap collars are required, which is for everyone's safety, but from what I can tell, it's almost impossible for a dog to get out with all of the gates and doors. Really happy to have this place near by, and am thankful for the people who take care of my fur baby when need be. read more

My dog loves this place and all the folks there. I have an 8 month old border collie and as soon as I tell him we are going to go to camp to play, he just goes crazy with happiness. I have never used a pet "day care" before, but so far have been pleased with this place. I often watch my dog on the cams and the camp counselors seem very responsible. Nothing I can say or do will bring my big boy back, but if I can prevent it from happening again than I have spoken for Kane. We all have to board our pets at one point or another and even though you think you are being careful choosing the perfect place, that is not always the case. Regardless of the raving reviews that I read about Camp Bow Wow of Concord, I would never board a pet there again. I understand accidents happen but ignorance and blatant mistakes are not accidents. On May 7, 2016, I took my beloved Kane to Camp Bow-wow of Concord, North Carolina. We had used them previously for short-term boarding and doggie daycare for our Great Dane and felt confident that Kane would enjoy his short stay. He was a healthy 2 1/2 year old and was last seen at the vet on May 6, 2016. We dropped him off around 10am on Saturday and I picked him up at 4:47 pm on Sunday afternoon. When he walked out, he was obviously very sick. He was panting and drooling incessantly, he's not typically a drooler unless he is in the middle of drinking. I was told at pickup time that Kane had been throwing up (4 times, once in his cabin and three times in the play yard). He was drooling so much the shirt I was wearing as we drove to ER was sopping wet where he had leaned his head on me. After getting to ER they immediately did an x-ray, confirming bloat and gave him morphine for pain. After discussing options with our vet based on the x-rays, the conversation with the attendant at the kennel, and a voicemail saying that Kane had been throwing up multiple times on Sunday left at 4:10, we made the decision to say goodbye to our big boy rather than surgery. The vet felt that the damage that had occurred due to the prolonged bloat and severity of flip was to extensive and surgery was no longer a plausible option. Unfortunately, I was never given the opportunity to save my dog since I was not contacted till 4:10pm and by this point it was to late. Their protocol states that they call owners even if a dog throws up once. However, I was not contacted till after 4 and was than told he had been throwing up all day. The owners now state that he had only thrown up once at 4:07 and the two attendants made a mistake telling me otherwise. Yet they were both very specific in their details. After asking to review the videos, I was told there are none, however, Josh later mentioned that he had reviewed the videos. Both the emergency vet and our normal vet feel that if I had gotten him to the vet that morning, surgery would have been successful considering his age and overall health. There has been zero acceptance of accountability, rather individuals being rude and lacking all empathy. They remind me that I have signed a release baring them from any consequences, a release they now hide behind. There is now a gaping hole in the heart of our family. We feel our trust was horribly violated and our Kane's life so abruptly taken from us based on someone else's mistake and now blatant disregard for anything other than the money they make. This post is both my opinion and the facts of what occurred with Kane that day. read more

I am so protective over my boys it was hard for me to find a place I trusted with them especially for boarding. I loved their interviews process and the tour I was allowed so I could exactly how everything worked and where they would be at all times. I have been taking my 3 dogs to Camp Bow Wow Concord since it first opened. I absolutely love this place and the care that my dogs get here. ( in regards to both the doggy daycare and the boarding) Over my last 18 years as a dog owner, I have been a lot of different places and in my opinion no one has a better system in place than Camp Bow Wow. I always use to worry about leaving my dogs behind when I traveled but now it's a pleasurable experience for both me and my puppies. My dogs go spastic when I say "ready to go to CAMP" and I think that speaks volumes. In regards to the daycare, there is a certified/trained attendant in each play area. They have different sections of play areas depending on the size and temperament of your dog. My favorite part is that they have a web based camera system in each play area that you can view at any time during the day by simply visiting their website. A lot of times when I am at work I log on to watch them playing for a few minutes. It's awesome to see my dogs happy and playing while you're at work. Also I should mention that on Tuesdays they have discounted daycare. On many occasions my dogs nails were trimmed while at daycare which I find to be another example of outstanding service and care. And the number one best thing about Camp Bow Wow doggy daycare is that your pups will be tired when you pick them up because they got an entire day's worth of exercise. (plus I get a night off from walking the dogs other than the pee pee before bedtime). Boarding works just a little different from the doggy daycare. Camp Bow Wow has staff there all week including Sundays and Holidays. If your dog is boarding there, they obviously get the free daycare but at night they get fleece-blanketed, raised beds to sleep on and a peanut butter filled kong at bedtime (if you approve that upon check-n...they will ask you ) Something else they do that I like is they will make sure your pets get their medicine or special food diet for no additional cost. Boarding places in the past always charged me surcharges and additional fees for that sort of thing. If you have several dogs, you can request that they sleep together in one large family cabin at NO EXTRA cost....which is yet again another thing that always cost me more money in the past. (Plus the large cabins weren't really that large at other boarding kennels). Something important worth noting is that if your board your dogs here, they have 3 mealtimes a day and when they eat, they get 1.5 hour break from daycare during that time to make sure they don't get bloat! ( This is very important for dogs that are susceptible to bloat) I feel good about boarding at Bow Wow because my dogs get more exercise than they would ever get at a conventional kennel. I think they guarantee a certain number of hours but I'm not sure what that is but it sure beats just the bathroom walk that other kennels give. Oh and its worth mentioning that they give you a report card of your dog's stay at daycare or boarding with all sorts of details. Not only is this sometimes very entertaining and funny to read, it's also shows me that the staff take time to watch and interact with each of the dogs individually. (they comment on things like behavior, dogs they liked or played with, eating habits if boarding, etc...good stuff indeed) And ( I promise this is the last comment ha) they actively support the fostering groups in the community which I LOVE! (they often have fun fundraisers and client appreciations etc) read more
