We take our pups, Charlie and Baker, to CBW Middlesex. I am shocked to see the other 1 star reviews. The team there is second to none. It is really the only place where we feel 100% comfortable leaving them while we travel. Whether C and B spend the day at day care, or the weekend there, they come home tired and worn out! Our youngest, Baker, is a puppy, and has a TON of energy. Occasionally, upon pick up from day care, we will hear that he had to go to time out for a little bit. We are ok because we know Baker can get a little rambunctious. If you are on the fence, give this place a try. They have always treated our dogs appropriately and we will not go anywhere else! read more

Sooo I usually take my Pup to the Lawrenceville location where he always has a great time but they were booked for the night I wanted so they suggested that I reach out to the other locations. Luckily for me, my thoughts at the time, this Middlesex location had space for my pup for the night I wanted but they needed to contact Lawrenceville to have them send over my information and informed me that I would be receiving a confirmation call. So I go and call them today because I hadn't received a confirmation call yet and the person I spoke to said there was no record of me at all and that they were now booked. They tried placing the blame on the other location saying they must not have sent the information over-which is not even true. I called Lawrenceville to find out what happened and they said no one from Middlesex had ever called. Are you kidding me??? Now I'm left to try to figure something out last minute for my pup all because of someone's incompetence. At least own up that you made a mistake. read more

I find the business' response inappropriate. Forums and reviews serve a purpose. If you're concerned about getting your happy customers online and leaving positive reviews, I suggest that you ask them to do so or take a look at your internal marketing strategy. Instead of belittling my experience and making it sound like my concerns are inaccurate and ridiculous, even just an apology for my experience may have sufficied. However, seeing as the company has taken the stance that I'm a dramatic person with a "bad dog" who has aired my grievances on an (apparently) inappropriate forum to do so, I have downgraded my rating of this business. I am not in denial that my dog is high energy, however I know this has previously not been an issue. The lack of communication is concerning and I did make it clear in person that I was not pleased. In less than 10 minutes today after handing my dog over for 'assessment', I was told she was too rough and had attempted to bite other dogs. Socialization training was suggested. I was incredulous. She lives with another dog, socializes on a weekly basis with another dog, has been to a dog park without issue and was boarded at a different facility without issue last year. Had hoped to board her at CBW Middlesex as it is a bit closer to home. I feel there was not enough 'assessment' and she was rushed through the process. Can't prove it, but my dog is a mix (lab and probably part pit) - have a feeling there may have been some breed discrimination going on. Don't bother with CBW Middlesex. Plenty of other reasonable/reputable doggie day care/boarding facilities to chose from. read more

Since I moved out of state, I have tried 5 different dog daycare places. Although a couple of them have been extremely good, none of them have been better than Camp Bow Wow in Middlesex. The professionalism and courtesy I received there are still the bar by which I judge all other doggie daycare facilities. Additionally, even the one daycare with a webcam in my new location has a poor webcam setup, making it difficult to locate my dog a lot of the time, which makes me fondly remember the excellent webcam setup at CBW. PS - I stand by all my reviews and I'm very frustrated that this one is always filtered. I am a real customer. Wow, my experience cannot be more different than that of the previous reviewer. I have been taking my 50 pound pit mix, Carmella, here for approximately 7 months. We got a package that ended up saving us a decent amount of money, so that's always good. We board Carmella probably around once per month, most recently last month. Carmella has stayed at CBW Middlesex for everywhere from one weekend to 10 days. She always comes back happy and very tired. We can bring her toys, her bed, and her food, as well as treats and peanut butter. When she's staying for a longer period of time, we also get her groomed. The staff always gives us updates on Carmella's behavior when we pick her up, and always pays attention to any special instructions for Carmella's care.The camper cams that they have online are awesome; you can see your dog playing and interacting, and you can also check that there is always supervision in the play areas. One time, when I picked Carmella up from CBW early in the morning after a red-eye, she became really skittish after arriving back at the house. The only time I'd ever seen her act like that was after she got into a pretty intense altercation at the dog park, so I called CBW to see if anything had happened. I spoke with Jen, the manager of the facility, who told me that that hadn't had any incidents while Carmella was with them. She was concerned about Carmella and was very helpful. I later figured out that Carmella had become skittish when the recycling guys picked up the glass from the restaurant behind our townhouse- i had the windows open and she FREAKED OUT when she heard the glass breaking, so her behavior was totally my fault, not CBW's. The cabins that the dogs stay in are very generously sized (when I saw them I thought the small dog size would be plenty of room for Carmella- but she gets the medium sized suite), when we went to check out their facility during Carmella's interview, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the cabins and play areas. The dogs who were at play and in their cabins were happy, and greeted us with wagging tails (little cuties). I was really worried about leaving Carmella here at first, as any parent would be, but she gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot, and doesn't even look back at me once she gets into the waiting room! Can't ask for more :) read more

My dog Ralph loves camp bow wow, and is nothing but smiles and wagging tails when I drop him off. Camp bow wow is the only boarding facility I trust, and feel confident to care for Ralph when we are away. We love being able to check in on the web cams, or call for updates. I also highly recommend the grooming services. Ralphie always comes home from his bath shiny and smelling fresh! The staff is fabulous and friendly, especially Angela! The care to which was given to both of our 2 beagles. One of our beagles has "bladder cancer" and we had medication and UI concerns regarding a 4 day stay. But with no restrictions at Camp Bow Wow or staff concerns they provided a piece of mind and great concern for our "Sparky". His medication and stay at Camp Bow Wow was excellent, we check-in with the staff on a daily basis and found their care and concern was the same as ours. I tried to bring my dog in for a grooming and nail clipping over the weekend and was turned away because his bordetella was not up to date which I understand completely and have no issues with that. What I do have an issue with is on the monitors I noticed two dogs fighting. Not playing...fighting and did not see any staff in that area to break it up. Another issue I have is when leaving the one girl had an ATTITUDE and told me how pet valu has a self service bath. To which I replied the bath isn't the problem I need his nails cut I can't do that myself and walked out. I have thought about bringing my dog here for the daycare but after what I saw and how I was talked to after being turned away I will not bring my dog here again for any reason. read more

The owner's response is completely untrue. The dog that attacked my 10 pound dog is named Casper and is an ENGLISH bulldog. I can't believe she is lying about this FACT! As far as me "crying" at my dog's fur in a previous incidence, she is full of it. I simply called her because my dog's fur was completely matted and asked if she knew why as I had never seen it that way before. She then asked me to bring him over to see what it was. I am not an hysterical owner and her trying to make me out as one just shows how desperate she is to make this horrible incident seem like no big thing. It is a big thing because my dog is still injured and I have about $300+ in vet fees to date. Anyone who would like to ask me any questions please contact me. Everything I said in my review is 100% true. My 10 pound Pomeranian was attack by a bulldog at Camp Bow Wow Middlesex. Thankfully I was still at the facility when it occurred. They brought out my dog which was covered in dog drool and not being able to put weight on his right leg. Being upset at the time, I did not get the specifics of what occurred. Later I called the day care to get the details and was told that when my Pomeranian was taken into the play area and a dog went after him and had my dog's leg in his mouth. I then pressed the worker and asked how big the dog was that attacked my dog. After asking him the same question three different times, he finally said 35-40 pounds. The vet confirmed that my dog's leg was bitten and that his neck was also injured in the attack. The vet added that my dog was extremely lucky given that a dog as powerful as a bulldog attacked him. It has been about 5 days after the attack and my dog still yelps in pain even though he is on pain medications. I know dogs are animals and can be unpredictable at times, but there is no way that my Pomeranian should have been in the same play area as a bull dog. It is NEGLIGENT! While the staff seemed concerned about my dog's condition, the owner of the day care facility, Jen, did not offer to pay for my vet bills. Jen did say that the bulldog's owner would pay for the bills, but I did not think this was fair as she was not the one who put these two very different dogs together. The kicker to this whole story is that this bulldog is still allowed in the day care! That's right, a dog who attacked and bit another dog is allowed back because "this was the only time he has done this". Isn't once enough? Especially considering this bulldog has only been going to this facility for a month. This bulldog goes there every day (about $550 a month), while my dog only goes there about 10 times a month (about $150 month). Do not be fooled by the temperament tests that they reportedly conduct or the genuinely caring staff, it all boils down to money and this is a business. Be very careful where you take you dogs. Ask every question that you can think of and do not assume anything. Ask how many dogs in their care have attacked other dogs at the facility. Learn from my mistake and please do not take you dog to Camp Bow Wow Middlesex. I wished I had not trusted their judgment with my beloved pet. read more

All I can say is that it is about the money. The owners only care about how many dogs they can fit in the place and don't even pay attention to the dog to human ratio in the play yards. I have a dog and he is constantly getting hurt when I bring him to CBW. Yes, I should have learned, but you would think that someone should care about the dogs that are in the facility. The cameras are angled well so you can't see everything. Most "counselors" are just off the street kids that don't know how to handle a fight and are only armed with water bottles and maybe a horn if something does happen in the dog yard. The "interview" is complete BS, two counselors bring the new dog and a camper into a gated area on leashes and hope for the best. CBW just wants to get the money from the owners and pretend that they give a crap about your animal. PS I've never heard a positive review on the street from people who have used CBW's services. read more

I been going to Camp bow wow for over a year now I've spent a lot of money at this establishment my dog was one of the regulars there ! I felt very comfortable leaving her there with the staff , they really loved her and they were all very nice especially Angela - she's great!That's all I have to say about my good review now let's get to the part that completely pissed me off and why I am no longer a customer there . I booked a 2 week stay for my dog about a month before I left to Florida ( I am actually writing this review while here on vacation) The stay was about $700 altogether which was no problem,she's in good hands so I don't mind spending the money. A week before I left I called to put a 50% deposit for her stay . I wanted to pay half at drop off and the rest at pick up . I called up and explained they said that's not there policy ( even though I've done it before) the girl said to email the owner , I said no have your owner call me back. The owner calls me from a Blocked number and leaves a message saying no I can't do that, she has a lot of customers who spend just as much as I do ( I doubt that) and I have to pay in full at drop off . I don't mind paying it but it was just the principle of the matter since I've done it before that way ! That is why I am no longer a customer there because as a customer I felt very unappreciated especially after all the money I've spent there ! And I thought the owner was very unprofessional calling from a blocked number and leaving her final say over a message. I had to look for a replacement boarding/ day camp to leave my husky and thankfully I found it! They gave me a private tour of the facility, they take her for walks 2x a day , they have one on one play dates with her, she has a huge room, and it's so much cleaner ! All that for the same price as camp bow wow ! While camp bow wow had none of that ! I own 3 businesses and that is definitely not how you handle a long time steady client! Staff is nice , but owner only cares about money not her customers or there dogs... So I see no reason to give her my money also They could add more activies for the dogs to do or make the place look nice ! After hearing horror stories of OTHER dog day cares, we were pleased and relieved to find Camp Bow Wow (Middlesex). The facility is brand new and super-clean -- and cute too (the front desk area is designed to look like you're in a cabin). On our tour, we met with one of the owners, Jennifer, who was knowledgeable and friendly. After our dear Henry (5 mo. old Boxer) "passed" his interview, he spent a day at camp, working out all of his puppy energy. Best of all, we were able to peek in on him during the day by using their web cam! After playing all day, Henry came home and slept like we've never seen him sleep before. It's been a few weeks since Henry's first day at Camp, and we try to get him there as much as possible. With their package deals, a day at Camp is the same (if not less) than what we pay our dog walker to come to the house for a mere 15 minutes. They even have grooming services, and Henry recently got a bath and came home smelling great. His paws were SO clean -- we never thought they could look that good again. The "camp counselors" treat the dogs so well; it's clear that they love what they do. We "dig" Camp Bow Wow! read more

Camp Bow Wow in Middlesex is as good as it gets! The staff is knowledgable and friendly! Every time I go in they remember exactly who my dog is, they know who he likes to play with, and they make me aware of when I need to get his shots updated. My dog doesn't like to eat in the morning, so I normally bring his food in and they will give him a break during the day to let him eat and rest (the rest part I'm sure is much needed). Camp Bow Wow in Middlesex makes me a better mom to my dog! He loves it there...and I love watching him on the camper cam while I'm at work. They are wonderful people and the price is VERY resonable! I used to use this facility for my dog day care and vacation needs, but NEVER AGAIN. I dropped off my friend's dog for day care, and while waiting for someone to check us in, someone else waiting was asking about the facility and if i knew of any in-home options. Being that I use both camp AND a dog walker, depending on my needs, i answered her question, providing feedback about my camp experiences, and also who i use for in-home dog care. The OWNER called my friend on her personal phone 5 days later, specifically to find out who "that woman was that dropped off your dog", because she thought i was "stealing her business" by telling the woman who i use for my in-home dog care needs. Being that this is entirely unprofessional and downright intrusive, I requested that the owner speak to me directly. She did call me, and she began by explaining that she called my friend first and foremost to see how her dog was since she was "snippy" at her prior visit. Well, that was a blatant lie, since my friend said she never even mentioned her dog during the call. She called to "find out" who I was. Long story short, in an effort to play detective, the unprofessionalism displayed by the owner of this franchise was epic. This is inappropriate use of personal information! And you cannot prevent people from talking about any business, and if anything, word of mouth is how we learn about such places. Before hunting down your paying clients, a business owner should have their facts straight! After this inappropriate behavior by the owner, me and my fellow dog-owning friends will no longer be using this facility! Dogs create a sense of community, and there is nothing WRONG with telling a fellow dog lover what resources you use to manage your dog's needs. To be harassed over telling another client about how and who helps me with my dogs is none of camp bow wow's concern, and them spying on me, and essentially stalking me, will NOT help their business, that's for sure!! I love Camp Bow Wow Middlesex! It is a brand new super clean facility. The owners and managers are so nice and friendly and really go out of their way to make sure your dog has a good time. All of the staff seem to care so much for animals. Unlike some other doggy daycares and boarding facilities, you can tour Camp Bow Wow Middlesex at anytime; they have nothing to hide and the pride they have in their facility shows. I just moved to the area about 2 months ago and have bringing my dogs to daycare here on a regular basis about once/week. They also have had one overnight. So far so good. I haven't had any issues and it seems to run very similar to the other Camp Bow Wows I have been to, which is why I chose to take my dogs here in the first place - Camp Bow Wow provides quality service and attentiveness to the dogs without upcharging for playtime or treats, etc. during overnight stays. My dogs have been to a number of different daycare facilities in different states (they are 9 yrs old), and this seems to be one of the better ones in comparison. read more

I've used them for daycare, boarding, and grooming, and have always been a satisfied customer! Jenn and staff do a great job and exercise every precaution to ensure your dog's safety. They thoroughly evaluate every dog before admitting them into daycare. I've been bringing my dog Max to Camp Bow Wow for over a year now. I even held his birthday party there! I've always been happy with their service, and they are the first place I turn to whenever I need someone to care for Max while I'm away. They're extremely responsive to e-mails/voicemails and are also constantly updating their Facebook page with happy camper photos. They also frequently send out e-mails for great deals and promotions they have every month! Their prices are very affordable, especially for the great service they provide! Please don't let one bad review keep you from giving them a try! Once you visit their facility, you'll realize that they have tons of happy customers and campers. read more

My dog stayed at Camp Bow Wow in Middlesex for a week this summer. It was the first time overnight here & the first time at a kennel. He loved it. We watched him on the monitors & called to check on him (which they were very kind to give us details on his visit to be sure we were comfortable). I love this place for my two pooches. They are 10 and 9 years old and never been boarded or went to such place. I was looking for a place so that they can get some socialization and get used to being boarded. It took me a negative review to get in contact with them (which I deleted after the contact.) But, once the dogs were introduced to the facility, they are getting better each day. I monitor their progress over the web cams, which one can view from their web sites. The staff is wonderful. They clean the floor right away after the dog decided to go right there. My dogs do not seem stressed out and after they come back, they actually seemed tired after all the running around in a pack. That is a good sign. I recommend this place highly. read more
