Originally, I loved this place. The staff is wonderful. Extremely helpful. I had taken my 7 months old Labrador there. 4 times. The reason why I no longer take him. Is because, he came home hurt twice. On his last visit he wound up catching an upper respiratory infection, and it was quite bad. It saddens me. Because I loved this place, and so did my pup. But, My pups health and safety comes first. To the staff at Camp Bow Wow, I'm not blaming anyone there. You are all wonderful. I understand things happen. I was looking forward to leaving my dog at Camp Bow Wow and I was hoping it would be a positive experience. I left him there but tried to monitor him. The cameras were aimed so it left a lot of the outdoor play area out of view. When my dog came into view he was trying to get away from a group of three dogs who were following him around and he was intimidated by them. When I picked my dog up I told a staff member of my concerns. I was told to just bring him back a few more times and he will become more comfortable. I didn't like that answer and have not been back. Dogs intimidated my dog. Nobody intervened. My dog was out of camera view for most of his stay. The response I received isn't acceptable. read more

Been bringing my dog for daycare for 6 months - all was well UNTIL they began a new policy - No human needed in the 'teacup' room unless there are 10 dogs. Website clearly states dogs will receive 'a safe, SUPERVISED, enriching experience'. I watched a dog eat another's poop because it was unsupervised. Tried to call and couldn't get a person on the phone. I wasn't notified of the change and I have 10 day re-paid package for daycare. I'm will be demanding a refund unless this policy is remedied. Can't recommend leaving your small dog at Camp Bow Wow at this time. Can't speak for the medium or larger dogs. read more

Over last 18 months this place has changed. Left dog there Last October for a cruise. When we returned dogs fur in anal area covered with dry fecal material the size of a walnut. Dog could barely go to the bathroom. Thinking this was a one off dog stayed 5 days in July 2025, so we could attend a wedding up north. Dog was returned to us with severe diarrhea, a fever, and fecal satins on fur, and with kennel cough. His bed and blankets were in the washer they stated he had an "accident" Have owned and boarded dogs our entire lives and never was a dog retuned tome in such bad condition. After 8 years using them were are done and have found alternative caregivers when we travel. I would advise to stay away. read more

Cannot say enough good about Camp BowWow in Port Charlotte. Our dog went several times during our Florida stay, mostly for day care but one overnight. The staff was wonderful and we had no problem leaving our Pepper there. One thing that impressed us was she never came home smelling "doggy". Laziness plain and simple. I sent two inquiries about bringing my dog in for boarding and day care. Couldn't be bothered to respond. You think that a business that can't return phone calls or emails (even a week later... nothing) is going to treat a member of your family well? I can't even imagine the stuff that goes on behind the scenes if that's how they operate. If anyone knows of a decent boarding/day care place. I would love a recommendation. As for camp bow wow. please for the love of god, don't trust that they are watching over your family member as if it was their own. If you don't even treat potential clients with respect, that they are trying to convince to spend money, how do you think they'll behave when they've already got your money. read more

I DO NOT recommend Camp Bow Wow, Port Charlotte location! It's great until you call in after watching the dog cameras, witnessing your dog being pulled by his collar and removed from play area. Owners Brian and Jennifer do not even interact with their clients which is rude and unprofessional! Manager Christine was unpleasant and on a power trip! It is sad that after six months of taking our dogs their with no issues, the owners and management can not handle pure bread pit bulls. They are obviously working in the wrong industry! Manager Christine called me at 6:55 pm when our two sibling bully pit bull dogs were preparing for a stay over in the suite (with cameras). She said our male dog was no longer a good fit for Camp Bow Wow. Couldn't she have made this decision prior to them ready to spend the night! The owners and management did not like that I watched the cameras to check on my sweet puppies. If you like Camp Bow Wow for your little angels, DO NOT watch their cameras in spite of what they say on their website. My dogs were picking up germs due to the 40 plus dogs they have in one carral. It definitely opened my eyes up to where I was bringing them. read more

I've always dropped my dog off here several times, he really seemed to enjoy it. Never had any issues with him being there and the employees seem to love him too but one time I was heading out of town for the weekend and dropped him off prior. I received a call not even an hour later saying my dog was banned and that I needed to come pick him up because he got into a tif with another dog. Very shocked on how they dealt with this, the other dog was not banned but allowed to keep going to Camp BowWow while my dog was dismissed so quickly. I've never had any problems with my dog not getting along with other animals and I was very shocked myself when I first heard of this. I believe this was handled poorly. They lost a great dog and customer along with references. Thanks! read more

I scheduled an interview with the camp and dropped my two big dogs off for boarding the next day. My trip was supposed to be for just a couple of days and it turned into a week due to hurricane Florence! I called daily and Tiffany assured me they were all right and had enough food to last them until my return. It was so nice to check the web cam and see there was always a person in the mix. When I finally rushed to pick up my dogs they didn't seem as excited to see me as I was to see them! I think they had a great vacation with lots of friends and a loving staff. Thank you Camp Bow Wow! Do not take you babies here! We just picked up our dog after a 5 day visit. This was our first time there and when we picked up our dog Jax we were horrified. First, it was after 8:30 in the morning and he immediately ran outside and it was very apparent they had not even had him outside yet. When we got him in the car he smelled so bad like urine that we had to have the windows rolled down the whole way home. They also put his blanket in a garbage bag and said he had "an accident." When we got home I took the blanket out of the bag and almost passed out. It was drenched with urine and was stained with dry urine that had been there for days. It was horrifying. He NEVER has accidents and can hold his bladder for hours. THey literally put him a kennel for over 12 hours at a time at night. We immediately gave him a bath and he needed to go outside and go to the bathroom three times within an hour. I had to completely shed all of my clothes and wash them as I smelled so bad just from holding him on the way home. I feel like the absolute worst dog parent ever. Please, don't use this facility. read more

We take our dog Archie to Camp Bow Wow for day care and grooming. This is such a great facility. Our dog cannot wait to get in the door and he enjoys his time socializing with the other dogs. Our dogs are not left alone. They get attention all the time and we can watch them on the cameras! The view on the cameras are a little choppy and sometimes hard to find my dogs. This was my first experience leaving our one-year-old English cream golden at a camp in nature goldens are very calm Molly is a bit anxious and have never been around other animals so I was really apprehensive and leaving her The people there were extremely friendly the guides with your dogs are extremely experienced and know how to handle all the dogs as they are all separated into size of course , you can download their site and open up the camp cam and watch your dog all day long Molly was extremely calm and I was very happy with my service, they invited us back and I'm so happy for Molly I think she'll be a regular thank you so much camp Bowwow I am myself excited to see Molly go back. read more

Working 40-50 hours a week and having two Australian Cattle Dogs left at home, unattended is a recipe for disaster. I actually like my furniture and would like it to remain intact. Camp Bow Wow keeps all of us happy. They are conveniently located just north of 41 on Toledo Blade and they open early (7AM) and close late (7PM) which means I don't have to cut my workday short. They are also open 365 days a year!! They are fully staffed with dog loving folks that know every camper as an individual. Yep, they really care! There are cameras that allow me to log on and check on "Scar Face and Twinkle Toes" whether they are in the play yard for the day or in their suite when staying overnight. My dogs love it and it shows everyday when I drop them off. read more

Brian and Jenny and the rest of the staff at Camp Bow Wow Port Charlotte are amazing!! From the moment we walked in the door we felt like family. It was difficult to leave our "baby" for the first time during her interview but Brian put our minds at ease. He came over to Lilo and petted her immediately and she just absolutely loved the attention he gave her. She was at perfect ease with him when he took her back to meet the other campers. The professionalism shown during check in, going over all of the paperwork, and information about the importance of vacinnes assured me that Lilo was in good hands. It was great to be able to see her on the lobby televisions playing as she was introduced to a small group of dogs her own size. When Brian came back he assured me that she was having a great time, as demonstrated by her happy tail wag. He gave me the information on viewing her from the webcam online and put my mind at ease as we left her for the first time. Interview day is usually a 3 hour long process to have the dogs get acclimated to being at camp for the first time. At the end of watching Lilo play for the entire 3 hours with every camper she was introduced to, I knew there was no way I could take her away from her friends so soon. I called and spoke with Jenny who also reassured me that Lilo was having a great time and was being a good camper. She said it would be just fine to leave her for as long as we liked. When we picked her up she was a tired, but OH SO HAPPY puppy!! Jenny gave us our certificate with a fun picture of Lilo on it and explained information about night boarding and coming back during the day for more play time. We love begin able to watch Lilo and the interaction she has with staff and other campers while she is visiting Camp Bow Wow. This place is PHENOMENAL and HIGHLY recommended!! read more
