Nice place with cameras to watch them play but way too EXPENSIVE. $53 a night for boarding is already a lot but now they're charging $15 if you pick up after 11am!! Tell me who can pick up before 11am if they're out of town? They don't tell you this before you book. They have a sign at the front desk once it's too late to reserve somewhere else. Dropped off around 2pm and picked up around 2pm the next day for $68!!! I've been going for years and the staff is not friendly either. Never going back. Will be boarding down at Tails are Wagging from now on. read more

Our pup loves CBW! He had some teething issues which were communicated clearly from the staff to us and a solution was quickly found to ensure all pups stayed safe. We will continue to leave our pup in the hands of the staff here and feel safe to do so! read more

My pup has been to camp bow wow twice this week and this location is losing a little bit of charm. We don't receive report cards anymore! I called three times this morning during business hours and wasn't ever able to speak with someone. We have been coming here for a little over ten years and I miss how responsive and over the top they used to be . read more

So happy we found this place ! As long time cat owners, we finally caved to our kids and got a puppy ! He's lovely and fun - but unlike the cats who we have a house sitter for , he needs to be somewhere when we travel and Camp Bow Wow was recommended by our neighbor and it was a great recommendation. He went for an evaluation and seemed very happy to be there so we left him for 4 days while we went on college tours. They have cameras so you can watch your pup while you are on the road and he was having a blast playing with other dogs and the employees were lovely - picking him up and cuddling him. In fact he has such a great time he seemed reluctant to leave ! We had arranged a bath so he was clean, fresh and fancy with clipped nails and Camp bandana when we picked him up ! We already have another visit planned and have decided to bring him here periodically so he can socialize for other dogs plus he seems to love it so much read more

I used to work here a year ago, and i only worked here for a little bit , ended up quitting. fast forward to 2 months ago i received a email for my electronic w-2 but i had to sign in so i texted the manager asking about it and found out i couldn't log in. She then told me the HR team will send by mail and asked for my adress, i sent my adress and i got no response, a couple of days later i had texted again asking when it would be there and found out i had been blocked. My dog has been here to play a few times. The staff was great and super friendly. I wanted to get my dog used to coming here because i knew at some point i'd be going out of town and I needed her to be comfortable. I recently left my fur baby here while i was on spring break. I wasn't worried about her at all. I love the fact I can check in on her while she's playing during the day. You have the option of getting a room with a camera ( I didn't get one of those). I think its cool though.. I was able to to bring my dog's pillow and a few toys for her. This way she has her comforts of home. I also picked the option for them to bathe her before I picked her up. She looked great with her pink bandana :-) I'll most definitely leave her there again. read more

I have taken my dogs here for the past 2 years, and bc of the management I will no longer be taking them back. I had a complaint the last time my dogs were there, and was spoken to rudely by the manager Sara. When I contacted the area manager Alisa about how I was spoken to I was told if I didn't like it I could take my business elsewhere. When I asked to speak to her supervisor I did not receive a response...... I have left 3 voicemails with the corporate office, and have not received a response from them either I will not be taking my dogs to a company with such a lack of leadership and accountability for their actions. Update to Alisa's response: Like I stated in my email, I have no problem with your shot policy but what I do have a problem with is: A- Your manager speaking rudely to me when I asked about why your application and requirements page don't reflect the correct required shots. B- You did not properly read my email or my review bc I specifically stated I am upset with the lack of communication and accountability not the shot requirements C- It took you 2 days to respond to my email, but responded to a bad review on social media with in a few hours.... D- I received no response from you when I asked for your supervisors contact information. I was told that I can take my business elsewhere instead of listening to my complaint and trying to come to a resolution with me E- I left 3 voicemails with your corporate office over the course of a week and never received a phone call back Those are the reasons why I shared my experience on social media, so hopefully someone will read my review and decide to take their pet elsewhere. read more

Just not a good place to leave your dog... The staff here is at best not professional and we now believe they have been over charging us for service never received. Basically they will tell you just about anything when you book your appointment and drop of your dog. Of concerns... I picked up my dogs after 2 nights of boarding and realized that they had not been fed according to the instructions provided both verbally when I dropped them off as well as in writing with their food. Both dogs have health issues and are on prescription food. Somehow, they were only fed about a tablespoon of ground turkey (1-2 bites) morning and night... that was meant to supplement their canned prescription food. Nobody questioned how little food that really was for a 25 lbs dog... the report card even indicated that they only ate "some" of the 1 tablespoon of turkey! As if this was not enough, they were not given any treats which they should have had after each meals and whenever left in their kennel. Who is paying attention and does anyone care? The manager apologized acknowledging that it was entirely their mistake and gave me 2 baths and nail trim for their next stay. The apologies are appreciated but I remain concerned about the quality of care received at Camp Bow Wow Stone Oak. read more

We had a last-minute need to board our dogs and called Camp Bow Wow. I was told they needed to be interviewed and could not be interviewed and boarded on the same day. I didn't realize I was attempting to board my dog in some exclusive club. I told them my dogs would not mind staying away from the social population and still got the same reply about needing to be interviewed. These are 7-pound non-aggressive dogs they refuse to board. So, make sure you plan ahead and get your dogs trained in etiquette or they may not pass the interview and be accepted into this elite dog social community. We are happy to take our pet family members elsewhere where boarding facilities understand the business they are in. read more

Very clean and great service! My dog loves it here and is very tired when she gets home which is lovely! The staff are also great! My dog had her nails trimmed outside of camp bow wow and 2 nails were cut too short so she began to bleed. The staff at camp bow wow treated her bleeding nails and allowed her to have a cabin to calm down and monitor her. They also called me and informed me of what was happening which I greatly appreciated! read more

We won't be bringing our dog back to this location. We recently went on a weeklong trip only to come back and have to take our dog to the vet for severe diarrhea. The vet had to administer IV fluids and prescribe antidiarrheal medication. We were shocked to find Max in this state because we called three times over seven days only to be told that he was doing great. This despite the fact that the staff's own discharge records showed he didn't eat his regular meal on at least three days and only partial meals on the other four days. When we picked him up, his rear end was dirty from diarrhea even though we paid extra for a bath. To add insult to injury, the manager's only response after a $400 vet bill was to offer us a free bath on our next visit. Suffice it to say, there never will be a "next visit" for Max. read more

They give your dog a free playdate and interview of sorts before you can take them which I think is great. And they make sure your dog is up on his or her shots. They have always been incredibly kind and have nice things to say about my pup. They always seem to remember her in a real way. One time on an early visit my dog was wrestling with another and her ear was some how cut. Ears are sensitive and hard to stop any bleeding. They called me right away and told me that they were just playing and both dogs were good. That they put her in a quite kennel so she could rest and let her ear get better. I came there and they had tried to treat it as best they could and I could tell were worried. Anyone whose ever had a dog cut their ear will know it's a pain in the rear to get it to stop bleeding. Any shake makes it start again. Long story short they handled it really well. I love this place read more

I have been using Camp Bow Wow for years. I was very sad when I picked up my dogs were very hot to the touch and very thirsty when they got home. My dog talks to me. He wanted to just get out of this place when we picked them up. I think the place was overwhelmed with dogs and they have new staff that are not as experienced. You can tell the place smells of urine. I watch my dogs while I am out of town. Too many dogs in one area and all they do is soak the mop on more piss while your dog works hard to avoid it. My dogs are incredibly smart. My girl stays by the door and my boy will stand on their one plastic bridge looking toy. They don't see the sun. The dogs are scheduled to go piss outside but when there are too many dogs during the holidays, the rules change. I recommend asking for your pet's card. I know the information on the cards are not true. My boy does not eat hard food. They wrote down that he ate all his food. He looked a lot thinner when I picked him up. I don't know what happened to the quality of this place. They need to have "Under Cover Boss" come in. read more

I contemplated writing this review because I've been taking my dog to daycare at Camp Bow Wow and even boarded for one day before and have not had an bad experience like this before. This time we boarded for 3 nights and when I picked my dog up today - she smelled like urine. It was so bad I had to take her to get bathed. Now I understand the dogs getting dirty from playing and such which is what I anticipated, but she REEKED like she was laying in her pee for three days straight. I also understand I have a Great Pyrenees and they're not the easiest dogs to keep clean, but at the same time I've never had an issue with her peeing in her crate at home and for the amount of money payed for boarding plus a generous tip I don't understand why this happened. I know you can opt in to receive a bath before they come home from boarding but that shouldn't be necessary if the dogs are being cared for properly. It breaks my heart thinking she was just covered in pee while I was gone all weekend. I won't be boarding here again. read more

I have been taking our lab there for almost two years. Apr 5-9. To my dismay when I arrived I was notified that my lab was bleeding from his nail. We were never called nor notified of this situation. Interestingly enough his nail never produced blood. What we noticed was a cut on his neck that produced a terrible hot spot. Later that week we received a $550 bill from Stone Oak Vet. When something is not initially reported it's safe to assume they are not upfront and anything could have happeNed a bite, injury during grooming...anything They informed me management would be calling. I did receive ONE call but I was on another call and couldn't take it. I figured they would call back knowingly they dropped the ball with my lab. It is now June and no one ever called back to see how our old guy was doing. This is a for profit first and only business. This place has gone down hill And fast. My pups got the canine flu and one developed an ear infection too. They have never been sick from boarding and got wiped out this time. I don't recommend this place until they up their cleanliness and monitor the health of the pups they take in for boarding. Our pups are just not the same and will take weeks to recover. read more

Long story short, this location has few experienced staff and I believe is ill equipped to deal with high energy dogs with strong breed instincts especially puppies as is the case with our 2 large puppies. The model of having all dogs based on size in the same pen works fine if you have dogs of the same relative energy level regardless of age. Put one or two higher energy dogs in the mix and it upsets the balance and problems ensue. Not the dog's fault. I also beleive they are understaffed based on the volume of dogs they try to manage. And as a result can't monitor the dogs as closely as they should be in the large play areas, especially when correction of dominant behavior is called for, again going back to poor training of staff. Its a good concept for many dogs, but not fully fleshed out for dogs who require more guidance. If you have a high energy dog, find a facility that can accommodate them, but dont bring them to camp bowwow read more

Love this place!! I took my pups in for some play time today while maintenance was being done on the apartment. The staff was friendly as always, facility was clean and the price is just right! I stopped by to see if they would interview my dog as this is a requirement of theirs ( I had an emergency call away Tomm that requires an overnight stay). I stopped by and met their manager who failed to smile or greet me much less ask for my name to bark at me advising the interview process takes 3 hours. I explained my situation which meant nothing but merely a louder bark with no options .... which makes me wonder .... if you treat paying clients with this type of courtesy , how would you treat my dog -- I regret to say that I just wasted 30 minutes of my time I will never get back - Thx camp bow wow - plz thank your manager for superb customer empathy ! Paid for our dog to board during the holidays and every time I log in the same dog is trying to tackle and hump my dog while employees are standing around not paying attention. I called to get the issue corrected and a few hours later I witnessed the same thing again I didn't pay over 400 dollars for my dog to be assaulted by another dog. Breaks my heart to have to write this, it was a great facility up until now due to how they have decided to handle recent events. My 6 month old Rhodesian ridgeback was bitten in what a camp counselor referred to as rough play with a friend that escalated. According to the area manager it turned out to be, "Play gone too far" involving 4 dogs and my puppy. They say my dog did nothing wrong according to the videos and one dog was removed from the program. Once our dog had been bitten on BOTH sides of his body (5 areas, his neck puncture is large enough to stick a finger through) AND an employee was bitten, that was no longer play gone too far. That was a dog fight or a dog attack. Do NOT sugar coat it. This facility will not tell me the breed who attacked my dog, so I can prevent bad behaviors from developing as a result of this attack. He's now nervous around other dogs. They also will not let me watch the video to see my own dogs temperament before, during, and after the attack. I have two small children and our puppy currently weighs 60 pounds. He is expected to be around 130 pounds and I can NOT let him develop ANY behavioral issues. Why this facility can not let me simply know the breed of the dog who bit mine baffles me. I did not ask for owner information, the dogs name, or anything else. I want to TRAIN MY DOG. It would be beneficial to reintroduce a nice version of that dog breed to my own and ensure he does not have any breed associated aggression with other dogs. They will not let me watch the video. They are acting so unbelievably shady about this incident that one can not help but think they are attempting to cover something up. Was a counselor not supervising the dogs like they were supposed to? Did the counselor do something to break up the dog fight that they were not supposed to? I certainly would hope not... That was not what I was looking to find out when I asked for information. We have not threatened recourse of any kind other than contacting the Better Business Bureau once they would not provide the information on the breed type/video footage, but their regional manager has now asked me to never contact them again via phone, e-mail, or in person. Camp Bow Wow Stone Oak has kept my dog for overnight boarding quite a few times. My dog loves to play with other dogs and loves it here so much that we typically can't even get a goodbye from her when dropping her off. We left her over Christmas and we received the dreaded phone call that she had blood in her urine and something was going on with her. They took my vet info over the phone and called and got her an appointment and took her into the vet for me. She is home resting doing great. They went above and beyond to make sure our dog was taken care of. Took her to the vet and gave her her daily meds until we got back home. I'm so appreciative of them and would highly recommend. read more

I have had a terrible experience with this facility. Found a great daycare in Bulverde. They have an outdoor, large unground pool with a large play area! My puppy could not be happier. I watched the videos - this place is like a boring prison for dogs. All they do is walk in circles all day long. Not at all what a dog needs. The best place is K9 Country Club in Bulverde. Took my dogs there and told them they are not used to being around other dogs and wanted to get them more social. They said my dog did not pass the interview process. They took a shy dog and put with the group way too fast. They said he did ok with 1-2 dogs but cowered in the corner with the big group. All this within 2 hours. This is equivalent to a puppy mill. They just want large numbers of dogs and to not spend time with any one dog. Took to another doggie care and they said he does great just shy but gets better with each trip. I only gave them a 1 star because there are no negative stars. read more

Avoid! This place is run by unprofessional people. We called about a reservation that we made for 2 dogs. We called to confirm that we were all good. We were told that we were missing shots??? We asked how can that be we had our dogs there a week before. It a "new" shot that is required now. We were upset because no one told us when we made the reservation. The lady on the phone was rude and threaten to cancel our reservation. Some Regional manager called and tried to chew me out. Lady I don't know who you think you are but someone needs to sit you done and teach you how to talk to people. How dare you talk to anyone that way. DO NOT GO HERE. The worst experience ever. Do NOT take your dog (pug) here. I had paid for everything, loft, training, extra play time...I got none of it. I had reserved a 5 day stay in October, leaving for a ski trip in December. First, no trainer..quit. Second, no loft..unavailable even though I booked it prior. I had to remove him from this place on the second day. My dog in 2 days was bald, raw, infected and had a stomach virus (vommiting and diarrhea) for only 2 days of being there. I texted and e mailed that my dog looked sick or unhappy (based on webcam) got an email he was fine. My vet said, they never put his food ( wet with eggs) and they poisoned him with food not being referigerated. It was horrible. I was in another state skiing and I had to get him removed, to the vet and when I came home he was sick and traumatized. With now a 365.00 vet bill, and a caretaker for home, I am angry. They have made attempts to credit my account, but still nothing. The staff was some good, some bad. The manager and a male were nice to the dogs. The girl who admitted me and took dogs info was very mean. She would spray the dogs with water...for no reason, if they just came around her. There's a night person with a cap, that kicks them away if they get close. He goes in middle section or her to talk on cell phone. End of it all, had to have my pug in the emergency clinic to get well. In 2 days, my pug went from healthy to deathly sick..I'm grateful I had friends and family to help until I got home. PLEASE DONT G O HERE. If you are the owner of the white dog, looks like a small white collie, they are really mean to your dog. For whatever reason, they are mean to this dog...spray , kick, knee..even if it's just laying in the corner. Very mean staff on webcam..excluding manager.
