After three brief encounters with Jeff the manager I have decided to write a review. First encounter with Jeff was when we paid to launch our boat at there private access where he came down in his personal truck after we launched and told us the game warden would see us soon because our boat is "highly illegal". We explained to Jeff that the boat wasn't illegal and that we had already spoke with the game warden about the legalities of running our boat on the river. Jeff then mentioned that he was the manager for Huaco Springs. Our second encounter with Jeff was when he was out on the water in the same area we were fishing, Jeff then told us again that our boat was "highly illegal" . I explained the same thing to him again as the first encounter, where I was told that I would be paid a visit from the game warden again and now the sheriff would be involved. We returned this morning to fish again and after getting off the water, we had our third encounter with Jeff the manager of Huaco Springs. At this point Jeff had talked to the sheriff and game warden, Jeff was told by both authorities that the boat was perfectly legal to be on the water. So after the game warden and sheriff didn't work, Jeff made the decision after we've launched are over the boat three times, we are no longer allowed to pay to use the ramp there. Jeff was harassing us while we fished because he fished there and didn't like our boat. As a New Braunfels local, I will be sure and spread the word the fishing community that Jeff and Huaco Springs will discriminate at the managers discretion. There are multiple other outfitters up and down the river that will allow access for all boats not just the Jeff the manager that doesn't know the laws of the river and harasses people while they are fishing. read more

Camp Huaco springs is the go to spot - Rv's campers - tent camping ALL ARE WELCOME. Right at the 1st crossing. GREAT STAFF! The owner even works the gate. THEY REMODELED 100% THE RESTROOMS AND BATH-HOUSE - if not better than Buc'ees and they have SHOWERS and are just as clean! I love this spot - been going for 25yrs. And I have been impressed each time I go back. The grounds are maintained- staff makes periodic trips ALL DAY LONG with a golf cart picking up / emptying the trash for EVERYONE - tube rentals right next door with a shuttle. Fishing is fantastic - Blue Gill - Pearch - catfish OMG !!!!! This place is safe - clean - well maintained and I recommend 1,000,000 % read more

This place is really great! I like the price is per carload and not how many people. I have gone during the day plenty of times and have gone camping there too. I will mention that when we went camping we (last minute) had to take another car. We called & asked how much and we're told it was $35. When we got there and told them they told us it was $80. $80!!!!! So we paid $40 a night to camp per night... they ended up charging us $40 to add the car last minute. Didn't make sense to us, but we paid anyway. There were 3 ladies up front, only one seemed to know what was going on. I pretty sure they were just trying low ball us. But this river was high, our spot was great. I would do it again. read more

Super great river swim spot! I love coming here, as a day trip or as a camping trip! I will admit the bathrooms are bit sketchy because they have curtains instead of doors, but other than that- Great swimming spot with a nice jump spot, tons of beautiful trees and a few shallow spots for younger kids. read more

Out site was great! Feet from the water. A bit too close to the 1st crossing, but no big deal. And we had electricity. Yea for that! However, they should mention the bathrooms a quite far away. Had to drive. And there is NO WATER AT ANY CAMP SITES! No where on the website does it mention that. Those two items are a big deal for me. read more

It is hard to endorse a place that will allow one party to overrun the rest of the campers with a completely unnecessarily loud speaker. This speaker was Playing music the entire time we were here. The only exception being doing "quite hours from 12 am to 7 am. Even after several attempts to contact office and confronting the party who stated they didn't care if we didn't like it we could get our stuff and leave. The management seems reluctant to intervene. I will never be coming here again and would also discourage anyone else from coming here in the future if you value your freedom and right to peace while on vacation. read more

Went camping this past weekend with my group of friends and just disappointed... I think this is a 2.5 stars instead of 3 stars. I had schedule for all of us to go camping. I called them and was told that on each spot of the campgrounds for 2 tents, 4 cars were $30 dollars. Plus, there is electricity available. But once we got there, it was just $30 dollars per car. We had 5 cars which each total out to be $150. We mightiest well have gotten a hotel room with that price. But it was already too late to change our locations because everyone already paid and started setting up the tents. The campground was pretty large, it had the river, streams all along through the campgrounds and large huge trees. ~Will I visit this place again: Probably not, if I was truly desperate. ~Bathrooms & Showers: Bathrooms were dirty and always clogged. Showers cost 1 token ($1 dollar) that lasts up to 8-10 minutes (Women showers= hot water, Men showers= cold water) ~Curfew is midnight (which is supposed to be quite time but it was like a dorm room or a loud bar) read more

As a popular summer activity, a group of our friends decided to go tubbing down the Guadalupe River for the weekend. Because this was such a great idea, we had a lot of friends. They rented a cabin from Camp Huaco Springs, while my husband and I brought along our Airstream and rented a site. We found that the RV site was very clean and a great view of the river. Our site was close to the tube rental and the rental cabins. It made it for a care free trip. One issue we ran into was the camp site did not have an community bathroom or showers. Fortunately their sister tubing rental did, which was very close to where our site was. This seems ideal for family's who want the camping experience, whether it be by tent, RV, or cabin. They had a mini river/lazy river by the check in for the kiddos. It looked like tons of fun. We had a great time and we will be returning for more tubbing adventures. read more

My family and I just spent two nights at Camp Hauco and as the majority of all the other reviews you can sift through will say, this place is party central and a dump. We got to Camp Huaco early on Friday to get a riverfront spot. We got lucky and found a spot right on the river but around 8 pm some underage kids drinking beer in a 4x4 golf cart started looping the entire campground blaring their bass-thumping music non-stop until 11:30 pm when their mommy and daddy probably put down the bottle and decided it was time they head back to their R.V. for the night. This did not go well for us trying to put our 1-year-old and 3-year-old daughters down for their 1st night of camping. Then, around 12:30 am we were blessed with new neighbors that rolled into the campsite next to us and quickly took to unloading their super loud bass-thumping karaoke machine where for the next 4 hours they played and serenaded us with a mixture of Tejano and profanity-laced hip hop while smoking tons of weed and throwing their beer cans all over the place. My family got maybe 3 hours of sleep that night and by 7 am I walked over to the main office to complain and requested to speak to the manager. The manager was nice enough but definitely placated us on what had occurred and offered to move us to some other sites with electricity. The sites that were offered were in the back corner of the camping area and away from the water that she referred us to and people were camping right on top of each other like sardines. Definitely not an upgrade or an improvement by any means. My wife and I went back to speak with management again and we were told that the campgrounds would be better patrolled that evening. Thankfully the music from our neighbors our 2nd night wasn't as bad as the 1st but it was still party central throughout the entire campsite throughout that night and it was the same thing during the day too with lots of open drug use and alcohol drinking/drunkards stumbling about. The bathrooms here are disgusting too, barely cleaned to the point where I avoided them as much as possible. My wife's description of the ladies' bathroom is that its something out of a horror show. Needless to say, this place though in a beautiful spot is horribly run and is not a place to bring your family to, especially if you have small children. If you like the Animal House Gummo crowd and are looking to get your drank on and smoke weed openly, then this is probably your spot as management doesn't seem too concerned about much anything other than collecting your money at the door. read more

*DISCLAIMER, we stayed 2 nights during the week, not on a holiday or special occasion* Had an amazing visit to Camp Huaco, easy to make reservations, and great bang for your buck. Camp area was nice and clean, and Monday morning the porta potties were cleaned first thing! Had great access to the river, was nice and shady, and super close to a spot to rent toobs and be transported up the river. Make sure you buy your shower tokens when you first check in! Staff was super friendly. Quick access to Gruene as well! Shower area wasn't as clean and up to date as it could be, but it wasn't bad and I'm sure it's difficult to keep areas like that clean with such a high volume of people. It wasn't spic and span but it wasn't filthy either. The toilet area was actually VERY clean, so that made up for it. There ARE toilets and running sink water that you don't have to pay to use up in the shower house. Just make sure you buy your shower tokens when you check in, like I mentioned above! Have gone to this spot for camping many times in the past, and that's what made me come back. This was our first camping trip in 10 years and I'm GLAD we chose this familiar place. Still just as good and will continue to come back in the future! My husband DID say he felt it was a little over priced, but pretty comparable or most other places and I knew what I was getting into instead of guessing whether we would have a good experience or not. We have tried over the last four years to make the best of this campground. We have failed and will not return. The service is awful, the facilities are dirty and run down. People were drunk and screaming st each other till 4 am and no-one anything about it. When asked what the facility was going to do, the children that were running the place did nothing. There were children driving golf carts all over the campground and nothing being done. The WiFi, which is mentioned as one of the benefits of the campground, does not work anywhere in the campground. When asked why, the girl at the store said "it has always been bad and the owners knew it". We will never return and will spend our money else where. read more

RVer's Beware! You are only income to them, you are not a customer! Bring $$$'s!! I encountered an issue when leaving that required me to drive to the office to get help in removing my sewer adapter. Their connection unscrewed as they either failed to glue or tighten their connection. They stated when we reserved that you must use screw-in sewer fittings! I should have thrown the whole thing in the truck and left but I care, and wanted to make sure the next customer didn't encounter any issues. So I took their connection to the office to assist in removing my connector and as I exited to the right (wrong way) I knocked over the electric pedestal, my bad! The problem I have is, they refused to accept any responsibility when their failure to secure the the sewer pipe was the root cause of me knocking over the pedestal. They were unapologetic and and adamant that I pay in full for a new box to replace an old rusted box. Liz, their GM was rude and has no concept of customer service. I payed in full and I am left with only the opportunity to write this review! Their only consolation was stating we will help with an insurance claim! It's about the money! WiFi is available only through a third party $$$$'s and while the location is awesome and the park itself very clean the bathrooms are horrendous and unusable. No park map (guessing this costs too much) requires a long walk to find your site, no map to show which way to go, no arrows showing direction. Late check-in 4:15pm was difficult! This is an annual trip for our family and we always enjoy the RV sites as they back up to the water. This time we pulled in on a Monday afternoon and put our cooler out and went to bed. The next morning our Yeti cooler ($350) was gone. We spoke to the management and they said, "Oh yes, we have been having cooler theft." If they had told us coming into the park that we needed to lock up our cooler, we would have done so. Poor communication on their part helping guests keep their valuables safe. We asked to speak to the owner when he came in but no one really seemed to care. The park has a good location and for that reason we will be back with lock and key. read more

I have camped my entire life and this was the worst place I have ever stayed. The sites are small, no water on electric tent sites. Grass wasn't mowed. You only get 1 car per site, extra cars are $40 each a night. The showers are $1 for 8 minutes. They are either scouring hot or cold.. no in between really. Shower curtains don't even cover the whole shower. We were warned that the port a potties on the grounds had not been emptied or cleaned in a while. They were disgusting. You have to trek up behind and in between some old buildings and RV sites that I'm guessing are used for staff. It's kinda creepy. I would not let my 13 yr old go up by herself. It seriously looks unsafe and needs to be cleaned up. I would not recommend this for kids or women by themselves. They did carry wood, coffee and of course most things you need at the store. With as much as we paid to camp here we expected a better experience. The one good thing.. the view is amazing and lower electric sites are right on water. read more

We had a great time here. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that it wasn't crazy packed and we had plenty of space to keep with social distancing policies around our campsite as well as swimming. Only thing I would recommend is that they would keep up with cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms. Other than that everything was good. read more

Very disappointed with Camp Huaco... I stay here a few times in the summer. My family loves to camp we camp for 6-7 days we love it so much! But due to my mental heath I need my Esa dog she has all the papers from my psychiatrist stating I need her, she more then registered. I was turn away because they don't accept ESA animals. The lady asked me what I need my Esa animal for, which is illegal it's non of her business. Mental health is a real issue which obviously needs to be taking more seriously by staff & business. So overall I will NEVER be staying here, my family / friends will also know to never stay here. Our first river trip this year was awesome we stayed else where which my ESA dog was accepted and welcomed back anytime. Money well spent. Just keep on riding past this place. People are rude anyways when I did stay here. read more

Very beautiful area! We were welcomed with great customer service and the tenants around us were super nice. The river access was awesome and perfect for taking it easy in low, calm waters. My biggest complaints was the bathroom situation! Completely unacceptably dirty, stinky and absolutely no privacy whatsoever. The main doors didn't close and then there were no doors on the stalls. It's a beautiful property and overall very pleasant but I would maybe want a better restroom area for future stays there to be an option. read more

"Sure, you'll be practically secluded" says the lady on the phone as my friend makes the reservation. Then we spent a blissful night in the company of some gorgeous stars, some pretty handsome musicians and only the crickets and the gurgling of the lake to keep us company. That was the goal... the reality was more like you're literally 20 ft away from another tent, there are most likely going to be people freestyle rapping on one side of your "campground" and children running around like spidermonkeys. You're going to be hassled by a park ranger whose intention is to, and a i quote, "gun his truck up the road making as much noise as possible" after he checks to make sure you haven't snuck an errant vehicle in. The lake is gorgeous but the weird powdery dirt will fill every crevice of your body. For $30 a car and $16 a float, sad bathrooms (the woods were a closer, cleaner option), and a lot of trying to deter overly friendly neighbors from joining our jam sessions, I'll just pitch a tent in my backyard and sleep on the hard ground there. The only things that held true were our manly musician friends and those damn sparkly stars. read more

The restrooms are horrible! This place has high volume and I believe someone should take care of the restrooms daily. There was poop in the floor restrooms. The trash was over flowing. This place sucks. My girlfriend and I weren't expecting anything fancy - we've slept in our fair share of tent sites - but Camp Huaco Spings is an abomination. I called ahead to ensure we could get a tent site even if we arrived late night. They said yes, that they had never turned anyone away for a tent site. That should have been our first red flag. Once we payed we were directed to find a site in there designated area and we quickly realized that there were no designated tent sites. One hundred tents,cars, and parties packed together like sardines. If we had found a flat space to set up our tent (we didn't) we would have had to park at least 50 feet away and sleep beside load music and several games of beer pong. We asked for a refund and we were denied it. Although only when we complained did the staff mention that there was a satellite campground down the road. They swore it was totally open and much quieter. It was marginally less crowded/obnoxious. In short, these people just want your money. They show zero respect for their customers and don't deserve anyone's patronage. read more

It was Memorial weekend, so perhaps the pricing should not have been a surprise. $80 PER CAR (3 people, 2 tents). It was a "first come first serve" site. A large group about 50 feet away from us were blasting mariachi music until 4AM. The staff did nothing about it. The bathrooms were absolutely horrid. There were used feminine products on the shower floors. The 3 P's were on the toilets and on the bathroom floors...trash piled way above the trashcan lid. It was just digusting and made you question the quality of people in the surrounding sites. The only reason I'm giving it more than one star is because I was able to score a decent site with shade and tables and relatively good room from our hood rat neighbors. read more

Would love to give a 5 but I can't. The bathrooms are FILTHY! Toilet paper with feces just hanging out, no soap, no napkins. The bathrooms have shower curtains as doors and it's not the most private. The girls showers also have curtains. All raggedy and this past weekend only two of three were functioning. Other than that beautiful campground! Perhaps it was just bad timing (wkend before Memorial Day wkend) but the crowd here was not conducive to a family wkend with two 11yr old girls. Death metal til 4 a.m., women fist fighting, piles of puke every 100 feet, and enough second-hand smoke to induce overnight lung cancer. The people running the place were nice. Just not the atmosphere we were looking for. If you're looking to relive your early-twenties with a bunch of early-fifties, check it out. Otherwise, nope. read more

Stayed here with a group of early 20-somethings as part of a work retreat; we had a cabin and campsites rented out. I didn't deal with the reservation side of things, so I can't speak much to that - I believe they were a little slow to respond to us when we contacted them about dates/billing/etc. The ladies in the office were friendly and organized, although I was only able to check into the campsites and they wouldn't give me the keys to the cabin even though the reservation was under my name... maybe some weird policy? The campsites are super close together and some are right next to the road, which is surprisingly well-traveled and loud. Other campers poured in through the day and at night it was packed. I heard complaints that the sites were really rocky and sloped (also, the site numbers are spray-painted on the ground)... there was a lot of litter there, too. And the other people were noisy! I heard the most lit kids' birthday party ever. The cabin was really nice as far as cabins go - three bedrooms, spacious, real plumbing (shower, toilet, sink), and a kitchen with a microwave and stove. There were a couple picnic tables outside - no seating inside - and there were a whole lot of angry hornets; I and another person ended up getting bitten. It was a fine experience - I've had better and worse. I would recommend going when it's not peak season and not a weekend, unless you want to get cozy with your neighbors. I enjoyed the lax-ness of everything... staff rides around on golf carts and has a building on the grounds, but they didn't bother us about anything and we were also able to check out late with no issues. read more

Totally recommend coming here on a weekday! We basically had the place to ourself. Maybe 2 or 3 other families. But not crowded at all and not a lot of tubers that went by either. It was very relaxing and nice. Lots of workers driving around picking up trash, cleaning area. There was a lot of trash in the restroom area but I'm sure someone was scheduled to clean it up quickly after our short visit. Loved the ducks and geese that were all around!! $30 per vehicle is definitely worth it. Just bring your own drinks and snacks. Not a lot around and the ice house on site is pricey for basic goods. read more

Campers beware. There is no rule enforcement here. I'm all for having a drink and a good time but this campground is filled with partying adults. There was a group six sites down from us that brought a p.a. system that played all but about 6 hours a day. Sure, play music until midnight but not where we can hear the lyrics and bass clearly six sites down! Don't bother complaining to management. They just don't care. My son heard obscenities over and over, saw a woman expose herself and this was at lunch time sitting in our own campsite! The campground is nice for rv's but after three years in a row of having to deal with obnoxiously loud music and people well into the night, we're done. Great for the 21st birthday crowd, a strong P.I record or those that don't mind getting 4 hours of sleep. read more

First off I want to start this review off by saying. If you are a college brah or chick and are used to horrible bathroom conditions and/or loud music all night then by all means stay here. When we arrived it was a fine place, then I had to use the bathroom. They have shower curtains for stall doors and they are all broken so people from outside the bathrooms can see you doing your business. The toilets were disgusting!!! It then came time for shower time. We wanted to take a shower when we woke up, but had to wait for the store to open at 9!!! COME ON! If you are going to make people use tokens ($1 for 10 min) to shower at least put a machine to buy them there. Also we bought around 20 tokens for our group. 6 of them did not work. Either the shower didn't work, the cold water did not work so it was scolding hot, or the timer ran out after a minute. They later told us you can't tailgate the showers and put your coin in while it is going. You have no way of actually knowing if it is going unless you go in there and try to turn it on. STUPID! That night there was loud music and someone on a bullhorn until 4am screaming show us your (top). There were children here and this was going on even though lights outs and quiet time was supposed to be at midnight. When I confronted the employees about it, they snickered. Then when driving out of the campground to go eat we were told to slow down even though I was going 5mph. The actual river floating part was great! The rental place was awesome and helpful. We enjoyed our floating time for sure. We were also told that they would buy back the tokens afterward. Since we lost 6 tokens and I alerted someone every time it happened, I assumed we would be refunded for those. WRONG! First we had 7 tokens left over, they gave me $6. I had to tell them over and over i gave them 7 tokens. Then when I tried to get my refund for the 6 tokens that did not work I was told they couldn't refund those because it "was too much". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The showers also have heads that are in the ceiling. You cannot adjust them. One pointed toward the side wall and one at the shower curtain. After showers the floor outside the showers was full of water. So much for getting dressed... Like I said earlier. If you are a college dude who is used to horrible living conditions in a dorm, then this is the place for you. We however will NOT be back read more

Ended up canceling reservation and staying a few blocks away at a nicer pet friendly facility with actual amenities something this place lacks. Update. We ended up staying at hill country rv resort. The only draw back is they are not located on the river but they were extremely accommodating and they offer shuttles to the tube rental on river road. The facility is very well maintained and they have amenities and activities for all ages. 5 stars from me. read more

The campsite was okay, not much shade during the day and it gets very hot even in October. My worst experience was the restroom, so dirty and it looked like it has never been cleaned with trash and toilet paper everywhere and the SMELL was unbearable. Shower needs a token and only one shower worked and the shower was full of mold. Never seen something so dirty in my life. read more

Worst camp ground I have ever stayed at. On check in I was given a long list of rules and we were all made to wear wrist bands for our entire stay. Sounds like they are going to be pretty strict right? Um, no. We were kept up until 2am with loud music, which I'm not opposed to but that's just too late. There were people racing golf carts through the camp ground roads , honking just to be obnoxious and the police were called out at least twice. The party really kicked off at about 1230am. Maybe if you are 17 and that's the first time you have been out without parental supervision it would be enjoyable. Would not bring children here! If you are looking for a loud all night party this may be the place for you but I would prefer that quiet time, meant quiet time. read more

Definitely won't use this site anymore. Staff is very cocky and disrespectful. If they have an issue with something on your site they wake you up at 2am and go through your area as if they were police searching for a convict. We spent over 1000 dollars between all of us at our spot to enjoy our 4th of July just to be disrespected for having a very small quiet generator with a fan for our kids. They definitely handled the situation very unprofessionally judging by the fact that when we left we counted about 5 generators (very loud ones at that) being used on our way out. We've been to this spot for the past 4 years..... never again! read more

A group of friends and I just got finished with our first stay at this camp. We stayed 2 nights, tent camping, Thursday - Saturday. Also, they advertise power for tent camping but there is NONE. Camping is first come, first serve and we were lucky to snag one of the last spots on the river bank that was in the shade. Definitely show up BEFORE Friday or Saturday if you want a good spot. The place is packed full of people Friday night, and was very busy when we left. It is very noisy at night depending on who you're around and the road (River Road) running beside the camp is busy all night and day. We were all woken up multiple times by lights and sounds and blaring music from drivers passing by. The crowds can be a bit rowdy and loud as well, we were fortunate to be camped by two very pleasant families, however. The place was a bit dirty as you're supposed to pick up after yourself. Dirty diapers left around were the worst and I saw quite a few. Trash cans are hard to come by, but apparently they provide free trash bags which they don't tell you about and we weren't aware of until we were packing up to leave. There is only one bathroom building for maybe 200+ people and it was absolutely disgusting during the day. No stall doors, just shower curtains that don't close well. You have to pay to use the showers. I went to the bathroom at 3am and they were clean, so if you gotta go and don't want to be grossed out wait til the middle of the night. The rapids near the end of the park are also shared between the park and unmarked private property. Don't think about getting onto that beach on the other side or riding down the rapids and walking back on that land or you'll be threatened with being shot and very rudely told it's private property. I feel like the Camp Huaco staff should warn campers about that since the property owners have absolutely no signage up. Closer to the entrance is a nice spot to jump off cliffs into the water and ride a rope swing into the water. There's also a Black Headed Vulture and Turkey Vulture roost nearby that I thought was really cool and I enjoyed watching them fly around and whatnot. Overall, the trip was enjoyable but I don't think we'll be camping here again. read more

Pretty decent clean camp ground. However over over priced 35 dollars a night is a bit much for a primal camp. There's no fish in that part of the river and your magnet 50 yards away from the road. And you have no cell service anywhere on the property. The office/convent store in front can be pretty help full if your in a bind, but they will rob you blind. 10 dollars for a can of Copenhagen 12 for cigs 20 for fire wood. The prices where scandalous. I warn you not a horrible place to stay but if your headed that way make sure you have all your supplies read more

Every staff person we dealt with was rude and had a "Power-Trip" attitude, from check-in to the store clerk. We thought because of the high price we paid that it would be nice grounds, but unfortunately not. No phone service, WiFi doesn't work. Only saving grace was the peaceful part of the river the camp is on. Will not go back to this campground, felt disrespected by staff and it's not worth the price. First, the entrance is NOT well marked. If you have never been here, which we had not, you will most likely miss the entrance or not know which entrance to use. We passed it, couldn't back up, had to drive on and find a turnaround. (NO help from the staff....just a guy saying "you can't come in that way!") Secondly, we have a 45 foot long 5th wheel with 5 slide-outs and we pull it with a dually. When I made the reservations, I explained all of this and asked for a pull-through. I was assured that they had room for both. We get there and we do have a pull-through, however, the site barely fits our trailer and there is NO room for our truck. We have to park the truck away from the trailer, not even on designated parking, it was on the grass by a fence. While we were able to slide our slides out, we were on top of our neighbors. VERY narrow space and no privacy. No shade either and I was told I had a shady spot. Thirdly, on top of all that, to bring an extra vehicle, it cost us an additional $195 for parking for 4 nights! That's $48.75 a night just for parking. We parked the extra car sideways behind the trailer. Wait, there is more....as if that's not enough, they will blow your tubes and air mattresses, etc., up....but it will cost you....they charge for air. Talk about nickel and diming you and taking advantage of their customers! There was only one....ONE....friendly staff member there. I can't remember his name, but he was working behind the counter at their convenience store. Our neighbors were friendly and we were close to the water, which are the only pluses in our stay. We made the best out of a ridiculous situation. Been there, done that, won't be back to stay at Camp Huaco Springs RV campground. read more

If I could put ZERO stars I would. First time being at this camp. Got there and the spot we reserved was all rocks and roots, no way to pitch a tent. So they changed my spot. The new one was FILTHY!!! Diapers, trash, paper, rope cluttered the ground. The walk to the showers was uphill and way too far. Then what really gets me is these people we met got kicked out because 1 person complained THE NEXT MORNING! Not immediately, not "Hey, can yall take it down a notch?" Nothing. They just called the police and had them escorted out. Place is not worth it. Don't go!!!! L&L is the camp to go to! Clean, beautiful, well kept and organized. read more

Showed up at 5 PM while raining to visit some family camping here from out of town. When they asked how long I planned to stay I said maybe an hour to which they replied I would need to pay for a $35 day pass. Their prerogative, just not smart and a bit absurd in my opinion to not offer at least a half day pass when that late and raining. Also, went into the store to ask what camping space my family was at since they had no reception. There were two ladies working, one who was helping another group register, and another who must have thought I was with them because neither acknowledged I was there nor offered to help. After about 7-8 minutes I finally walked around to the other one who didn't appear to be doing anything at the time to ask for assistance. I ended up deciding I would rather them not see my $35 despite my hour and a half round trip. read more
