Awesome camps site with river views. The tranquil sound of the river flowing was great! Make sure to camp in the bottom not on the top as the road runs next to the top and the road is fairly busy with motorcycles at night. Bring ear plugs. For some reason people like to honk as they pass by. We camped in April and the weather was perfect. They have ice and other stores close.

We've been coming to KL since I was a baby !!! It's our Memorial Day family tradition! Here you will find the cleanest most beautiful river side, clean bathrooms, clean campsites ! The people who run it are very nice ! The water is shallow enough to sit and enjoy safely. I love it here !!

Every time we drove by this campground we told ourselves we needed to stay here. Have stayed at some other places on River Rd. and they were fine but K & L matched us & what we look for when camping. Had a huge site so neighbors were not right on top of us & we also liked how the river was right in front of us vs. down below a hill from our campsite-like we had at other campgrounds. Having a 3 year old grandson visit made this ideal as we felt safer without the hill & the water wasn't too deep for him. He liked being free & able to move about on his own in the water. We also liked just sitting on the river's edge enjoying our morning coffee or early evening adult beverages. So peaceful. I believe this is also the campground that frowns upon cussing or bad language, which we appreciated. The last campground up the road would benefit with these rules. We were extremely concerned about neighbors language in front of our children & grandchildren. The f word was used so much & so loudly that we considered moving sites. The staff at K & L was excellent, both on the phone when booking this site, as well as helping us find availability for next year. Never once did they lose patience or get irritated with all of our questions, etc. Just an excellent campground.

First time here, stayed 2 nights and we had a great time! Had an RV spot - #93 I believe. Spots are nice, spacious and maintained well. All right on the river - walk in access to the water. Right by some fun little rapids that the kids enjoyed. Most of the water area by campground is not very deep, can stand/walk in most areas. Only downside is most spots lack shade and they don't have gravel/concrete pads to park your trailer/motorhome.

I've been here a few times in our pop up camper, the river is good, clean and flows well. The bathrooms are relatively clean, long lines for showers in the peak seasons. The campers that we've encountered are friendly. I like this place because they offer a shuttle to drop you off up river if you buy a wristband at the store on river rd it's cheaper if you have your own tube. I give it 4 starts because the curfew, they'll patrol and tell you to lower the music, they are also STRICT on the whole wristband thing, no pets are allowed, most spots are limited shade and the camps are close to each other. **also during Easter no cascarones(confetti) is allowed except in designated roped areas**

My husband & I stayed at KL Ranch, in our tent. We had such an awesome time. The park & staff were amazing! They have a little store with a few things and will air up tubes for $1 each. Anytime we come back to New Braunfels this is the place we will stay. Thanks KL Ranch! We had a perfect little get away!

Such a lovely campground right on the river. Peaceful, clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was the perfect relaxing girls only weekend getaway. Only downfalls--parking is super tight, and camouflaged speed bumps are annoying.

I have been coming to KL for about 20 years. I will be 25 this Saturday and I'm going with my family to celebrate at the river this weekend. This place holds a big a place in my heart. It's like a second home. We go at least twice a summer and it's something we all look forward to every year. I only wish they allowed pets. My dog child would love it here.

Originally this was our number one choice, but it was all booked. So we made reservations at another campsite.... well that place was bad. We called K L to see if they had any opening and we snagged our site. This place is on the water and have lax restrictions. You can bring your own tubes and can park more than one car next to your campsite. The site was roomie, had a fire ring and grate. Just overall great. Just wished we had been able to get one of the site with grass, electricity and water.

High waters at camp, its not recommended you get in because of strong current. Lots are small, and very muddy.

My husband & I stayed here last year. We had a good time but it was just 2 days. We made our reservation for the following year during the summer. Unfortunately this area has had lots of rain, & the river is high, currents are strong. We are paying 43.00 plus 12.00 for our teenage because he is considered an adult, 6.00 for each of our other children. There is NO sewage hook-ups & you have to PAY for your showers in crappy facilities one shower had NO hot water. NOT worth the $$$$

Great place to spend 4th of July weekend!

A very special shoutout to the Recreation & Activities Supervisor, Kim Wertens! She was amazing--so patient, resourceful, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 90 people. She worked with our preplanned schedule and helped keep all the kids entertained, which made a huge difference for everyone. Third year at Camp Fimfo -- and unfortunately probably our last…read more Our family has come here three years in a row. This year we booked four days at hundreds of dollars per night. Our nephew is almost four and has ridden the small red and blue slides in the interactive children's water playground during each of the last two years. They were the main attraction he was excited about returning to. This year, after we arrived, we were told he suddenly must be 42 inches tall to ride them. So somehow he could ride these slides when he was younger and smaller, but cannot ride them now. We absolutely understand legitimate safety requirements. What we don't understand is this: The enormous full-size water slides at Camp Fimfo also have a 42-inch minimum. So the little slides in the children's water-play structure now have the same minimum height as the massive elevated water slides. Perhaps there is a legitimate safety explanation for that, but from a customer's perspective it makes very little sense. Even more frustrating, while sitting here today we have watched children who appear to be our nephew's height -- and some who appear shorter -- being allowed down the same small slides. If 42 inches is necessary for safety, enforce it consistently. If this is a new restriction, clearly disclose it before returning families spend substantial money booking their trip. We called the front desk before posting a review to give Camp Fimfo an opportunity to address the situation. The employee was cordial. Their proposed solution was a free ice cream. After spending hundreds of dollars per night on a four-day stay, an ice cream doesn't address the problem. This isn't about demanding that Camp Fimfo ignore a safety rule. It's about clear disclosure, consistent enforcement, and reasonable treatment of returning customers. Watching an almost-four-year-old try to understand why he could ride his favorite slides when he was younger and smaller, but can't now -- while similarly sized children continue riding them -- is incredibly disappointing. We returned for a third year because Camp Fimfo had earned our family's business. Unless this is meaningfully addressed, there won't be a fourth.

First…read moreencounter with Jeff was when we paid to launch our boat at there private access where he came down in his personal truck after we launched and told us the game warden would see us soon because our boat is "highly illegal". We explained to Jeff that the boat wasn't illegal and that we had already spoke with the game warden about the legalities of running our boat on the river. Jeff then mentioned that he was the manager for Huaco Springs. Our second encounter with Jeff was when he was out on the water in the same area we were fishing, Jeff then told us again that our boat was "highly illegal" . I explained the same thing to him again as the first encounter, where I was told that I would be paid a visit from the game warden again and now the sheriff would be involved. We returned this morning to fish again and after getting off the water, we had our third encounter with Jeff the manager of Huaco Springs. At this point Jeff had talked to the sheriff and game warden, Jeff was told by both authorities that the boat was perfectly legal to be on the water. So after the game warden and sheriff didn't work, Jeff made the decision after we've launched are over the boat three times, we are no longer allowed to pay to use the ramp there. Jeff was harassing us while we fished because he fished there and didn't like our boat. As a New Braunfels local, I will be sure and spread the word the fishing community that Jeff and Huaco Springs will discriminate at the managers discretion. There are multiple other outfitters up and down the river that will allow access for all boats not just the Jeff the manager that doesn't know the laws of the river and harasses people while they are fishing.
