So I'm a few months late with posting this but I'm gonna tell you a little story about Butch. When we adopted him from @ahstintonfalls he's was a little scared of everything at first but took very well to austin and I. Assuming the reason is because we gave him the second life that my sweet boy deserved. Fast forward about 3 months when Butch started to really come out of his shell. What a terror. The 3/3/3 rule was super true when it came to him. Butch wouldn't let anyone near me or austin. God forbid he saw another dog. All hell would break lose. It eventually came to a point that we just couldn't handle it anymore. And that is where Luis from camp k nine comes into play. We reached out and was explaining butch to Luis and he told us to bring butch in for an evaluation. So we did just that. A couple days later we brought butchy over to camp k nine so Luis could evaluate him. At first I didn't have a lot of hope because of how territorial butch was of both austin and I. The second butch saw Luis and the other dogs he starts flipping out. Barking so aggressively that we literally saw the "I wanna attack" look in butch' eyes. Luis did what Luis does and knew that butch needed to get some training. We talked to Luis and he said he is willing to train Butch in his Board and train program. All three of us knew that if butch didn't get the help he needed something bad would eventually happen. And no one wants that. So we agreed to have Butchy do the board and train program. We set up a drop off date for butch beginning May 8th. Butch didn't begin his training for a few weeks after that for a few reasons. One being because he wouldn't even let anyone near him and two so he can become used to his surroundings and smells. So slowly but surely Luis was able to start training him. Fast forward a few weeks later when austin and I had our first visit to see the process I was amazed. I was convinced that it was a totally different dog. Like someone got an identical looking dog and replaced butch with him. The progress was incredible. I was jaw dropped. And even so that was just a little bit of training but the difference was insane. Butch knew his basic command like sit, stay, down, come. He actually listened. So now fast forward another couple weeks when austin and I went back for another progress visit. And once again I was amazed. I never thought in a million years that I'd be able to walk butch and not have butch walk ME. But once again here we are. Butch walks right by my side. Loose leash and everything. Head to knee. If he got a little ahead of me which is going to happen. You have to remember he is a dog but with a simple "heal" command he was right back where he was supposed to be. Now that all the basics were addressed with butch. The process of introducing him to people started. Being that butch was so scared of people and dogs because of whatever happened in his past life this was a challenge that I really didn't thinK anyone was going to be able to fix. BUT Luis did. This process took a little longer because it was hard to figure out what ticked butch off to start lunging or aggressively barking at someone or another dog. But it happened. Luis was able to help butch realize that he is safe and also how to conduct himself. Now it was time for the take home sessions where Austin and I took butch home for weekend at a time to see how things go. Especially with our neighbors dog that for some reason makes him go nuts. But things went great and we were able to take butch home for good. He finished his board and train. However it doesn't end there. Luis does training saturday morning with a group of dogs and their owners to keep the training going. Getting a dog trained does nothing if the owner isn't also trained with how to properly handle different situations. Luis will always make time to show you or talk to you about what to do in any situation. He will show you what you are doing wrong and the proper way to handle the situation. Now we have to remember a dog is still a dog so they aren't going to be perfect but with the training from Luis at Camp K Nine I can proudly say that butch is close to perfect compared to how he was. I would absolutely recommend Camp K nine for any services. The board and train program, just boarding your dog if you are going away on vacation, or any grooming service. All the staff will treat your dog as if it was their dog. With lots of love and treats. read more

Camp k nine is heaven on earth for all dog owners. My mastiff was close to 150 pounds when I brought him here. He was dominant unruly and seriously lacked manners. This was the 3rd place I would be trying and let me tell you, my prayers were answered! Luis has a gift and is a truly kind and caring person. It wasn't easy and it took a lot of work but after I left my dog to board and train with him he was a different dog after. Obedient, responsive and respectful, the dog I always wanted. However the training was far from over and this is the whole point of this review. Luis then worked on training me. It turns out I needed just as much training as the dog, mainly in leadership and handling ( I treated the dog to much like my child). He was patient and direct and showed me where I was going wrong. After continuing to practice what Luis had taught me, everything just clicked into place. Atlas (my bullmastiff) saw my changes and is now truly embracing my leadership. He's a happier dog then he's ever been and I really have Luis and Camp K nine to thank for it. Bring your dog here wether it's for his amazing day care program small training needs or even the hardest cases. He's the one who will help you and not just improve your quality of life, but the dogs as well. Thank you again Camp k nine you and especially Luis! What a joke. I had an in-home training appointment booked for 2 weeks and they called me 20 mins prior to appointment time to tell me they "overlooked" the training policy and needed me to bring my puppy in for an evaluation at the facility first. When I booked my appointment I explained I had no interest in on site training & we made this appointment. When I asked to speak to an owner, he said he was the owner- so the owner "overlooked" his own policy and it took him all the way up to 20 mins prior to my appointment to figure this out. Needless to say, we will need to find a new trainer, but wasted an entire Saturday afternoon after working a 60 hour work week b/c of this appt. So so frustrated. read more

Camp K Nine has changed not only our dog Rocky's life but ours as well. We adopted Rocky from a shelter at 1 and half years old and we were told he was very high energy and had a some resource guarding issues, after trying to train him ourselves for over year we were running out of options and new we needed help. We started with Camp K Nine with some privet training sessions but were we simply not equipped to train a dog with this much energy who was constantly pushing to be dominant. We enrolled Rocky in the Board and Train program and it was a very long journey for Rocky not only was he high energy and dominant he also had a lot of anxiety as well. Luis and his team worked with Rocky every day to train and teach him how to be obedient and happy, and even after Rocky had proven he learned everything he needed, Luis made sure that we were ready as well, we came in regularly to train with him for privet sessions as well as the Saturday morning group classes. He taught us how to be better owners and handlers so we can keep up with Rocky's training once he came home. We learned a lot from Luis and a lot about Rocky and be came better owners for him on top of it. There are few trainers that would even consider taking on Rocky with his aggression issues but Luis saw we weren't willing to give up on him and he didn't either, he took the time to teach us and answer our questions to make sure we were successful when we brought him home. Even though Rocky is done with his Board and Train program, we will still be going in regularly to the Saturday morning classes and checking in so we can continue to makes sure we and Rocky are the best we can be. I am writing this in disbelief that I had to go through this. I brought my dogs to CAMP K9 on Magnolia road in Middletown and had the WORST experience I could possible think of. I originally planned to pick my dogs up at 1 pm, but wound up being able to go earlier. I started to call the facility at 10 AM to let them know I was coming early, but no answer. We got there around 10:30 to find no one on the property and the dogs locked in the house while a loud alarm, sounding like a fire alarm, was going off. I continued to call the business and no one answered. I then felt that I had no choice but to call the fire department to make sure, mine and the other dogs in there were ok. The fire department came and couldn't break down the door, because there was no sign of smoke. I still continued to call the business, with no answer. Then the property owner came home, and threatened us to get off his property when we demanded our dogs be given to us. He told my dad he "would kick his ass." We were promised someone was on the property at all times... that is a LIE. The workers said that they go back and forth every so often. Why am I paying $100 a day for my dogs to sit in a kennel by themselves?? I was then asked if I was going to pay for the services I received, I still can not believe it. PLEASE do not trust these people with your babies, and do not give business to such rude people with terrible business optics. This all could have been avoided if someone answered their phone line or was on the property like promised. read more

Our Cooper just LOVES to go to Camp K Nine! They treat every pet with TLC and really get to KNOW the pets personality. We recently left Cooper in your care for a week (3rd time). This is the third time I've left Rudy here. He is so excited to walk in the doors and seems happy after we are home. I love that you can call just to check in on your pup. Thank you for always keeping my mind at ease while I'm away and taking good care of my baby! I had a destination wedding and honeymoon so had to leave him with the camp for a few days... but was confident after my last two experiences.
