Here is my recent terrible experience with a Kitty Sitty boarder. The Kitty Sitty dispatcher, Faith, put me in touch with a couple who boards cats - Lori and Mark. Faith told me that Lori and Mark were reliable and professional. But when I arrived at their house, I was taken aback. The living room was devoid of furniture and occupied by several yapping, growling little dogs. Another room was dedicated to cats. It did contain cat accessories including a cat tree and scratching post, but it smelled bad as if the space was never cleaned. Mark had me sign an agreement indemnifying him, but he did not ask me for vet records. No matter, he assured me, my cats would be the only ones in the cat room for my four-day trip. I left my two cats there with some trepidation, and I'm sorry I did. Four days later when I picked them up, I found a horrible scene. In the living room there were now five yapping, growling dogs. In the so-called dedicated cat room, contrary to what Mark had assured me, there were now other cats, all using the same two small litter boxes and food bowls, mine. My cats could have contracted toxoplasmosis from those communal boxes. The food bowls that I had provided for my cats were lying around the floor half full of stale-looking food available for all the cats to eat. The food itself was not just my cats' food but meat scraps and other food that I don't feed them. Wet cat food was also clumped on the floor, and there were lumps of food in one of my cat carriers. The entire room smelled rancid and sour. One of my bowls was missing until Lori left the room and came back with it. When I told Lori that I was not happy other cats being in the room with mine, she became aggressive and began to video me aggressively, screaming , "You stop right there! I'm getting this! Stop! Stop!" Not wanting to engage, I paid her the $280 for four days and left with my cats. At home, I threw away my canvas cat carriers because the bad smell had soaked into them. I was able to wipe down my cat food holder with a mild bleach solution. I want to add that Lori and Mark had several hours advance text notice that I was coming to pick up my cats. They could have at least collected and cleaned my bowls and cat carriers, but they didn't. They are utterly unqualified to take care of other people's pets. A day later, my cats came down with kennel cough. The space was clearly not sanitary. As for The Kitty Sitty, it could not have vetted them. It is not professional service.

They have NEVER been outside of our house for more than the short times it takes for simple grooming or getting their teeth cleaned. We were very fortunate and lucky to discover a boarding home/airbnb for kitties, for these 2 inseparable orange tabbies! I could not ask for a better, more loving advocate of cats than Jill Bennett! The airbnb is far beyond what one might expect! Our cats had their own private quarters with all the amenities, including big screen TV of relaxing videos of exotic birds, a nice bright pool view outside, and lots of "climbing" accessories and perches! And very very immaculately clean! We were so worried about leaving our cats for 3 days, but Jill was kind enough to send us photos daily, to assure us that our babies were acclimating to their new vacation home, were eating, and were "comfortable" and loved! This was an incredibly great discovery for us, and we will most certainly bring our 2 tabby babies back when the occasion arises! WARNING ABOUT BOOKING WITH CHARLIE…read more I don't typically post reviews but I felt that it was important to post this one. This interaction happened a couple months ago in April. We met in person at their place and everything looked great. We were really excited to have our cats with Charlie, so we gave them our deposit. They requested 50% up front, we respected their request and gave them $321.75 out of $643.50 for 11 days for 2 cats. A couple days later, I had received a panicked message from Charlie asking for $100 more on top of that due to an emergency they were having, stating that it was urgent. This was very concerning behavior. We know nothing about Charlie and asking us for more money seemed very suspicious. It makes no sense to ask your clients to help with personal, financial struggles, especially when we had just given them $321.75! We felt uneasy about this, so we asked for our money back and they refused to return it. Be careful. We were not expecting this kind of behavior and request from someone with a 5 star review on yelp. This is very concerning behavior and we were worried there may be more requests for more money once our cats were in their possession. We attempted to settle this in our messages, but unfortunately Charlie did not see their request and behavior as a problem, and refused to give us our money, leaving us with the only option to write this review. We still have not received our money and considering this a lesson learned. UPDATE: Note for Charlie's response, this is not at all what happened in our exchanges. I'm not sure if they are recalling a conversation with a different customer, but there was no mention of a request for donation at all. Since Charlie sees no issues with this behavior, it's fair that they stand behind it here. I've attached screenshots as proof of their error.

I called back instantly and apologized told them I had the wrong date and asked if they were still at my apt. They said no and complained about parking and I continued to ask if we could meet another day. So I said I would do it within the hour and apologized again. I emailed back and said the paperwork said nothing about 20 dollar visit and if it had I would pay but since it didn't I didn't think I should pay. I get a email back saying I was being rude and that the girls I talked to on the phone thought the treatment I gave them was uncalled for. The only thing on the phone I did was apologize because I missed the time, I messed up, and I felt bad. So why would I be rude? What really happened is that I was being put down and intimidated into paying a 20 dollar fee because the girls were angry that they couldn't find parking at my apartment . I acknowledged it was my fault and apologized. It was only when I questioned paying 20 dollars for a 2 second visit they decided to throw insults at me. Needless to say after feeling verbally put down and bullied about something I so clearly apologized for I told them I would go with a different company and that I no longer felt comfortable letting them in my home when I wasn't there. I would not recommend them to anyone. I guess as long as everything stays perfect they will stay nice- but we don't live in a perfect world do we..
