We took our small RV for a nice getaway during the week, Tuesday through Thursday. Now, keep in mind, my husband is disabled. Though I appreciate that they have an elevator to get to the bathrooms. It would be a concern if the elevator was not working with those bathrooms located on the second floor. Also, two of the bathrooms were out of order and they need to be monitored as some guests completely soaked them and pulled the towel bars off the walls. The amazing custodial staff were working hard the next morning to take care of them. Otherwise, they were kept very clean. We rented a golf cart to use while there, I would not recommend getting it on the first day since the check time is 9 am to 9 am and check in with RVs is at 1pm. So, you have paid for a 1/2 day that you can't use it with no prorating. The pool was great. Be aware there is limited shade at the pool and no umbrellas. We rented a cabana on the second day, which was nice but I probably would not do it again since we did not spend much time using it. We found we could find shade by staying by the swim up bar on the adult side in the afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed the swim up bar, the bartenders were attentive and friendly. We also ordered food at the swim up bar. The pizzas are great! I would not recommend the nachos. Overall, the resort was a very nice place for a quick getaway. We will visit again in the near future. read more

I recently stayed in one of the resort's RV rentals, a two-bedroom fifth wheel with slide-outs. The RV had plenty of space for our group of four women, but there were several issues. First of all, the TV didn't work. Streaming services didn't work at all, and the antenna channels only had spotty reception. It was a good thing we weren't depending on television for entertainment, since we were with a ladies camping group that had scheduled lots of activities for us. Another issue was the steep steps and short safety bar provided. We are all active senior citizens, but we had to be very careful going up and down those steps. Also, we weren't told by staff how to unlock the door once we arrived. We had to call for help. Another issue with the door was that there is no latch to hold the door open, and the corner of the door caught my leg while I was standing on a step. Crystal Beach is a windy place, and there should be a latch to hold the outside door open when bringing things in and out of the camper. Other issues with the RV: the water would not stay hot, so you had to turn it off and back on while showering. Also, the air-conditioning control in the lower bedroom was too high to adjust unless you stood on the bed, another hazard. A stool was provided but none of us could reach the a/c control unless we stood on the bed. We have some suggestions to make the RV rentals more comfortable and safer: --provide more than two rolls of toilet tissue per bathroom if four women are staying there. We had to ask for more. --provide hooks in the bathrooms and around the bedrooms. --provide a mirror over the dresser in the master bedroom and an extra one for the other bedroom. --build semi-permanent decks with stairs in front of each rental or at least provide a handrail that extends to the bottom step. As for the resort itself, the elevator to the second floor of the Paradise Pavilion was broken! Unacceptable! Expecting a group of women mostly over 50 to climb the equivalent of two flights of stairs several times a day is ridiculous. Also, the stairs to the second floor are treacherous in themselves, very steep with rails that are flat boards difficult to grasp. There are no ground level restrooms for the pool area. Having people climb slippery stairs in wet swimsuits and entering a restroom with slick floors in each stall is also hazardous. There were textured mats on the floors outside each stall, but nothing inside the stalls. There was a semi-truck trailer on the ground near the bounce pad with restrooms, but the individual stalls were so cramped one could not bend without hitting her head on the door. We rented a golf cart off site and drove it down to the beach, but we had to gun the engine to get through the piles of sand on the boardwalk. Could that not be cleared once a day? One last thing. Our group hostesses purchased CMR blender cups for all of us with the understanding that we would receive a discount on drinks at the pool bar. What actually happened was we were each charged the price of the drink plus $5 more because the cup was larger than a regular priced drink cup. Then if we didn't close our tab, we were charged a 20% gratuity. Two drinks cost me almost $50. The blender cup seemed to be a ruse by the resort to make us spend more money. There was NO discount at all. I guess I should close with something positive. The staff was mostly polite and courteous, except for the guys running around in golf carts soliciting tips for giving people rides. The resort was clean, and the little margarita we were given when we checked in was a nice touch. The ladies in the camp store were very friendly and helpful, and they accepted cash, which is not accepted anywhere else in the resort. The beach was wonderful, not crowded in April, but if you stay at Camp Margaritaville, be prepared to spend money. read more

Spent a week here. Far Better than the Margaritaville in Beaux Bridge, LA, that's for sure - but this place is definitively not living up to the hype. This is a relatively new RV "Resort" located in Crystal Beach Texas and is part of the ever growing and highly tacky "Margaritaville' franchise. Although the Buffet family heirs may be laughing all the way to the bank, Jimmy Buffet must be rolling over in his grave over the shameless exploitation of his name and persona. The place sits on a sandy area along the Texas Gulf Coast previously wiped out by a hurricane a few years ago, with yet little infrastructure surrounding it. The beach borders the property's south end, but is absolutely THIRD-WORLD ...with man made garbage and debris strewn all about the sand and floating in the water. Local residents also drive their cars and trucks up and down the beach at low tide-making for an even more pleasurable experience. Consequently most "resort campers" (average age 70) seem content isolating from the outside world, sporting about the campground "roads" in rented golf carts (or their personal Little-Rascal scooters) eagerly awaiting the daily $5.00 Margarita "happy hour". and oddly enough, the "quiet hours" policy is not enforced at all. Geriatric drunks can be heard sitting in front of their $500,000+ motorhomes getting quite blasted and boisterous until well past midnight. It's all sorta surreal. There is a nicely maintained pool area with a "swim up bar", and an on-site restaurant with decent pizza. Camp sites are also good size, very clean and well kept. Music from the pool area isn't too loud, but for some reason all the loud maintenance work is done in the early morning. There are reportedly concerts that take place on the grounds, but there weren't any such events during our visit. Overall I'd say that the good just doesn't' outweigh the bad , and neither the cost nor the resort hype is justified. My husband and I came here for the weekend for a "kid free" relaxing weekend. Our second day we rented a golf cart. That night we took our golf cart to the concert and parked it along with the other 25+ golf carts but unfortunately after the concert when we went to put our chairs in our golf cart it was no where to be found. After calling the after hours emergency line and leaving 3 voice mails , I was able to find an employee on foot. He told us not to worry about the stolen golf cart ( with belongings ) that someone probably accidentally took it ( although we had the keys ?) and it would be found in the morning but unfortunately they had no way to track it. We had belongings and personal items in the golf cart so we weren't super satisfied with that answer. Thankfully another camper drove us around on the golf cart looking for ours. After searching for an hour we found it at the guest parking lot with all our personal items stolen from it. We were then able to find another employee who told us he was with "IT" and there is in fact a way to track the golf carts!! I really want to like this place but it's supposed to be an " escape " and both times coming here it has been stressful. The customer service is just SO BAD . You come here spend 300+ to camp in your RV just to have things stolen from the guests they let in for day passes. Very disheartening. read more

We rented a camper and it was ok. The overall quality of the camper was below par The quality of the camper build was low!!! I would never buy a wildcat by Forest River camper if you paid me. Cheap construction and it leaked when it rained. the people that helped us at Camp Margaritaville were friendly---but nobody seemed to know what was going on. Our tv never worked, nor did our internet access. We got an email that said that RV sites would get another night free. I called about it---apparently it doesn't apply to rental trailers. RV sites were level and as advertised. The beach was clean. We rented a golf cart offsite to drive on the beach. The resort is far from anything else so you cannot drive golf carts on the road or find any other shops or cafés or restaurants. There is only one restaurant at this RV resort. It has a very limited menu and mediocre service. There is not even a gift shop or souvenir shop. The camp store is small and has limited items. There is not one place to get coffee early in the morning and there was no ice cream shop available during our visit. There is nothing to do except drive your golf cart around and around and around the RV park. The rest of the resort was a fail. No Wi-Fi from the time we checked in Wednesday until Friday evening after 6 PM. Thursday, the pool bar was closed with no indication of how or what we could do to have drinks in the pool area. Late email Thursday evening, telling us the Wi-Fi was inoperative and the pool bar had been closed. Really? Beware! The beautifully photographed pool. The misleading description of a family pool and an adult pool with swim up bar. Since there was nothing else to do at this resort, the pool is the focus. The number one thing to know is that the public is invited to use this pool. That means that the regular people from town or even other resorts can come over and use this pool and pack it to the brim. There are lots of signs with pool rules. The number one rule says no smoking or vaping. There was lots of vaping going on in both pools. The number of drunk adults moving on over into the family side of the pool and the blaring loud music made it a miserable afternoon. Families be aware that you cannot bring in anything to eat or drink, including bottled water. The only exception is for toddlers or babies. You must purchase their food and their beverages. High school age smarties running the entrance to the pool area. No management person keeping an eye on their behavior and comments to guests. A gal asked to see my 65 year-old husband's ID. He said look at me and they said , well, will you be drinking? There was no sign at that time that said anything about needing to produce ID. I had already walked in and nobody asked to see my ID. It's just so blatantly obvious that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Please read and believe all of the reviews by TripAdvisor and Google that give this location three stars or less. A single elevator to the second floor, where the restaurant and the restrooms are located. We found zero parking for regular vehicles anywhere in the area. You either had to walk from your RV spot, have a handicap parking sticker, or use a golf cart. We have made several trips to the Galveston area in the past. There are many fine resorts. We love Margaritaville, and think the facilities are beautiful. The way entry to the pool is handled? Not so much. My friend and I, two older ladies at 57 and 61, decided to visit recently. We paid our entry fee and were walking in when I was asked for my ID. Unfortunately, I didn't have it with me, so was told I would have to stay on the family side of the pool and wouldn't be allowed to drink. My friend, however, was never asked and was allowed to enter. I had to borrow her car to drive home and get my ID so that I could enjoy a cocktail. We had lunch in the restaurant, and no one asked for my ID there when I had drinks, however. Funny how that works. I won't be in a hurry to return to Margaritaville in Crystal Beach, even if they do think I look underage. ;-) read more

Went here for Sunday Funday with some friends and had a good time! Drinks are good especially the Spicy Chile Margarita which isn't on the menu any more, but Danny definitely can make you one. Most of the bar tenders in the swim up bar are good but he is one of the quicker ones. The food is okay and choices can be better especially if you are on a restricted eating plan. Love how they have golf carts to assist with taking visitors with mobility issues around the resort. This place is great for a family weekend getaway. Here right now, second visit. Very, very upset I came. yesterday, we arrived to hear pressure washers cleaning pool chairs, from 2pm when we got here till after 6 pm. The noise just echoes here, and we could not use the pool/jacuzzi. This morning was awakened at 7:30 am by "the gardeners," who right this minute, are still at it.....mowers, weed whackers, blowers, all around our site. Went to the beach for an hour, came back, STILL HERE, doing what looks like the exact 4 sites they were doing before we left. I know, I am a Karen.But guess what? Paying well over $100 a night to stay here and be assaulted by constant noise is NOT OK. Won't be back. ZERO stars for the lan escape maintenance organization. Might actually pack up and go home it is so annoying. read more

I'm giving this place between a 3-4 star review. It's a new RV Margaritavillle and it's still under construction. The sites are beautiful and well maintained. We sites each had a picnic table and a fire pit that we cooked s'mores in. We were by the laundry/showers/fitness center. The laundry was reasonably priced at 1.50$ to wash and 1.75$ to dry. It literally only took 1 time to dry everything. The showers were immaculate. There were lots of them and the rooms all had a toilet and sink as well. Very clean and very big. Plus.... They were free!!!! It was nice not having to use our shower at the RV. The fitness center was also nice with barbells and a treadmill as well as other stuff. The pool is huge and beautiful. It does have an adult side and a kids side, but both sides have a swim up bar. The bar had the typical drinks and the only downfall is that they do not have a blender so they can't make frozen drinks that don't come from their premade machine. They also do not open the bar until 11 which is fine, but it would have been nice to have a mimosa or Bloody Mary at 9 when it opened. You can also order from the restaurant menu for food. We ordered pizza and some nachos and both were amazing. Prices were typical for food, but 6.50$ is a little steep for a beer. Especially if you are staying at the pool all day drinking. It would be nice if you could opt in for an all inclusive drink package or pay 50$ and bring in your own cooler. We didn't have a day that our pool tab wasn't less than 100$ pretty steep when you are already paying 100$ for week day and 130$ for Weekend slots for your RV. The roads were closed through the park to get to the ocean due to construction so we did have to drive down a couple of streets to be able to access the beach. The walk was too far especially if you were carting a cooler and young kids. They had a playground for bigger kids and a jumping pad and astroturf game area with lots of activities for kids. Just not anything toddler friendly. A splash pad would be nice for them. We had difficulties with the restaurant when we went to eat. They did not want to honor their website family feast.... Check out my review for Fins Bar and Grill. The smart thing would be to post a sign on door that said they weren't honoring it so you knew that coming into the restaurant. If we had seen it, we would have went somewhere else. Patricia was a great bartender both at the pool and restaurant. They need to utilize her people skills more. We had a great time over all, but I can honestly say I don't know if we will go back. Seems much easier (and probably cheaper) to go to a all inclusive in Mexico or just go to the lake closer to where we live. read more

Bolivar beach club was so nice from when we first toured the place to see what it was all about. Then on a busy summer 2022 weekend, we reserved a cabana online and looked forward to our visit with a few musicians inlcding Matt Castillo. We didn't stay at the cabana much at all, it was more of a storage location. Because of the crowded time we arrived, I would totally reserve that cabana again to be sure we had "safe" place for our stuff. Wear your flip flops from area to area because the concrete is hot! Restrooms are upstairs so that's a small pain. Looking forward to visiting this place as a Margaritaville Camp! Should be same fun or maybe even MORE fun! read more

Despite improvements made from year to year, this park/resort leaves room for some discussion. Importantly, there is no gate so people can come and go through the night or day. I also do believe the day passed at the pool represent a conflict. Sure, there are issues like mowing without catching the grass so you guessed it, another obstacle to battle. I think the employees were very nice, and that is worth a lot. Continue to improve, it's working. We'll be back. :) read more

Maybe I shouldn't have stayed with the 4th of July in my week but it was unbelievably loud every night. They BOOM music (if you can call it that) so much that the walls on my RV were shaking and they do it way past a reasonable hour (11pm most nights, some later). Golf carts speeding around with all sorts of politically oriented statements didn't help (like Trump stuff and some moron flying a "drunk wives matter" flag all over the campground every day. Not cool at all and people shouldn't be allowed to display offensive garbage like that. Hey, I'm all for fun but this was out of control and beyond anything close to reasonable. Its very nice looking but also cramped like sardines. The ferry to Galveston was also 1-2 hours waiting delays so you couldn't even get away that easily. I've been to many rv parks and liked much more than half of them but we couldn't wait to leave this place. Even the beach was super crowded and the opposite of relaxing. A staff member told me that its this way all the time. I'm never returning. If you are into a lot of noise, nothing relaxing , high prices, and lots of offensive displays without any control, then this is going to be heaven for you. If these things turn you off, then this is the last place you want to be. I'd give it less than one star if I could. read more

My wife and I wanted to do some camping, and we found this website unlike many others, the website totally matched the experience we had it did rain. However, we enjoyed our stay. We even met the mayor of margarita ville Doug Potts (not really the mayor, but he was a great resource of information. CHRIS from the entertainment crew was awesome his enthusiasm and commitment to make your stay one to remember is a credit to the amazing staff at this spot. My wife and I are looking forward to the next stay. The concert food and the Swimming pool were all spot on!!!! We attended the annual Alliance Texas Ally Rally at Margaritaville. It was fantastic! A great time was had by all. The facilities were amazing and staff were top notch! We had 137 RV's and 300 people. I can't say enough about how wonderful the event was and the location was perfect! read more

I work for a well-known RV manufacturer and the Texas group of our owners put on an annual rally and this year they chose Camp Margaritaville - Crystal Beach. I attend these rallies, representing our company and can wholeheartedly say that the facilities, staff, amenities and location have set the bar to a new level. I cannot sing enough praise of the ownership, management and the entire staff that are employed here. The degree of accommodation, communication, and availability that the management displayed is truly unparalleled; every single person/employee we interacted with was top-notch and happy to do everything possible to make our multi-day event the best it could possibly be. Mission accomplished. I got the opportunity to visit Finn's Bar & Grill multiple times, dining with customers (really, they're FamAlly to me ). The food was great, the atmosphere, light, airy and beachy and again, the staff, top notch. We got to experience some incredible, big-name, live music and the party was popping! We took advantage of the awesome catering services and event spaces. Everything was simply perfect. The grounds are meticulously maintained, cleaned and updated. From a professional perspective, this place is run tight and with a very high degree of emphasis on maximizing the positive experience their guests, in every way possible. From a guest perspective, this place simply rocks, is an incredible destination and should be on your bucket list to visit, but it won't be your last time, it's certainly not mine. read more

Well, I can cancel but no refund, not even a partial. I told her to keep it open and I will just give some crappy reviews over this cancelation policy. She said it was outside the 7 day cancelation window. We may be able to make it for one day but this policy is crap as we live 7 hours away. WE WILL NOT BE RESERVING ANY OF YOUR PROPERTIES AND CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. They cannot even guarantee your spot without charging you a $100 spot guarantee fee. I may fight this one with my credit card company as this is some seriously crappy management crap. Wonder if Elon Musk has something to do with this too. Sorry Jimmy, love your music and concerts but you left a mess when you passed. Your corporations suck! read more

This resort is about 1 yr old. The property is beautiful. The pool area is gorgeous. We had drinks from the bar and food from the food truck. The bathhouse/restroom area was big and clean. We watched a movie outside in the evening on the turf....that was fun! Free popcorn for everyone! They also had other Halloween type activities including trick or treating while we were there. The sites are all paved and flat. They have wifi but no cable. You do get charged for a wrist band per day per person which is odd to me because I'm already paying for my site to stay there so you would think having access to the pool would be included. They also advertise you can rent a golf cart or bring your own....but just know you get charged to bring your own cart...which is odd. We have never paid at any other RV park to "park" our own cart on our site that we paid to stay in. There is private beach access you can walk to or drive your golf cart. So that part is great. Overall the place is super nice but just know that there are a lot of additional fees to stay here. read more

I never noticed how many RV parks were around until COVID hit but I'd have to say this one tops them all. It's new, clean, and crisp. The owners thought of everything from stuff for adults, kids, even down to your pets. The sites are spacious, the restrooms are super clean and modern, there's even a gym to get a quick workout in. We rented a cabana and hung out during the day poolside. Convenient how there's a swim up bar to grab water or drinks to enjoy without ever having to get out of the pool. We were able to grab some food from the food trucks throughout the day. We topped off the night enjoying a concert. Cody Canada and the Departed were awesome. The weather was perfect to sit out at night listening to music next to the cool breeze. The kids were able to play on the turf with the other guests kids as adults sipped on drinks from the full bar. All the staff were professional and friendly. Loved how this randomly popped up. Definitely nothing like it in Galveston. I wouldn't mind coming for a day pass at the pool to then catch live music afterwards. A perfect staycation that's just a ferry ride away. read more

We have been going to this resort for several years, even before it became Camp Margaritaville RV Resort! It is a top notch resort with a beautiful property that is well maintained, heated pools, great food, and drinks. Management goes beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and if you need help getting around the resort, they will send someone in a golf cart to pick you up! The concert this past Saturday night was great! The Bag of Donuts brought great energy, music was fantastic! It's nice having the golf cart bridge over the dunes to be able to drive along the beach. I have stayed 2 times as of date and the first time was great with my 2 kids because they are really quiet but my second trip was an adult trip only and it was supposed to be fun so that we could release before we had to return to the rat race of life ! but unfortunately y'all have lost a group of 5 trailers and 5 families because you made rules that we followed to the T but since we were there and you already had our money you get to pick and choose which customers are more important and not follow your own rules so sorry all of us won't be back after spendin over 3K with you no thanks !!!! read more

Shiny and new but a bunch of "I'm better than you kens and Karen's" This place is full of a bunch of ppl that just come to get drunk and give other campers a hard time. I Will not return. I tried calling the camp over 15 times to check in on Wednesday. Finally some rando security person answered and gave me a site number. Still have not seen anyone over the age of 18 that looks like they are in charge here. The email I was sent stated we could get our paperwork at some nondescript location by the pool. (Two days later still can't find it) The restaurant is super slow and drinks are over priced. Yeah, the surroundings are beautiful but it's not really not worth the headache. Can't believe I spent two hours trying to get across the ferry only to be treated like trash at this over priced "resort". read more

We were there from Mon-Fri during Thanksgiving (2023). Our grandchildren enjoyed the scheduled craft activities, playground, and the bouncy dome. Food was also great. We were extremely disappointed with the fact that the pool was not heated during our stay, after being told it would be. There is no way that the heater was on. We chose to drive 3 hours for our grandchildren to swim in a heated pool. We would have stayed at the Camp Margaretiville only 30 minutes away from our house. No drinks allowed in kids play area, yet no where to purchase them. ‍ Pool area has no shade either, no umbrellas or tables. Not nearly enough chairs & they are looking at expanding. Maybe put in lockers or people's belongings? Another water area, like splash pad or pool? Entertainment area for camping capacity is already not enough for the weekends. Trying to find wait staff with any personality is a challenge as well. This was our first and will be our only trip. read more

We had family in from Kansas and we rode the ferry to it at Finn's Bar and grill at Camp Margaritaville. We started with BBQ nachos and we had the Seafood Plate and the Grilled Shrimp Plate. The food was delicious and a great value. We have taken them this week to Pappas Seafood, Red River, Delta Blues, and she said her meal today at Finn's Bar and Grill was a little superior from the others. With your BAFL card we received a free appetizer and an additional 10% off. Great place for kids with all the activities. We did not know this, but park at the camp store and they shuttle you curbside to the restaurant. read more
