We visited right before Memorial Day weekend- apparently the activities are only open on the weekend- so we mostly hung around our campsite. The whole Margaritaville Lake Lanier vibe is to just play on the water and chill. We finally found the kayak and paddle board rental on the last day- you have to walk past the restaurant and go to it in person, there's no phone number (at least that we found). It is just down the street from the decked out water park and dining so you can make a whole weekend or getaway out of it! About Changes in Attitude: This cute little one bedroom cabin has it all! You have a spacious den and full kitchen area to relax and dine in. The ceilings are beautifully lined wood and makes it feel even bigger. Down the hall is a full bathroom and a set of bunkbeds! Climb up the ladder to the spacious loft, great for extra guests!! In the back is the bedroom with queen bed and closet space! One of the biggest perks about this little cutie, is the view of the lake! It is stunning at all hours, especially sunset which you can watch from the patio or from the beach below. We lined the beach area and especially the fire pits for some nighttime fun! The staff is super friendly and helpful at check in. read more

This is a very large, very nice park. We opted for a pull-thru without waterfront or lakeview. We did drive around and those are really nice but obviously more expensive and some were too short for our rig. The picnic table and the fire ring were really nice and there's a charcoal grill available as well. Site was level, easy to pull into and large enough for our F350, Harley & 45' 5th wheel. RV Park is still nice, but very expensive. We had stayed here about five years ago, and knew it was pricey, but had enjoyed our stay. The real issue is not with the campground, but with the overall resort. It's starting to look just a bit rundown. and service was terrible everywhere. Very understaffed. and many of the restaurants, bars, and attractions were closed altogether - on Labor Day weekend! In our opinion there is some sort of management problem. Still, we managed to enjoy ourselves on this trip (I mean, come on, they have margaritas!!) but the park is definitely no longer worth the premium price paid. read more

We arrived here mid-day on a Wednesday, the check in process was a breeze while talking with the extremely accommodating and friendly staff I wanted to get closer to the lake so I asked, which wasn't a problem we chose site 31 but had a few other options to choose over the one we had originally reserved. After presenting the available sites that would fit our 41' MotorCoach they offered us the option to check them out before making a change but fortunately that wasn't necessary being they have a very detailed map of all the sites and the staff absolutely was able to describe in detail what was available. This place spared no expense when designing the RV sites and venues, the streets are paved and curbed, the sites are a spaced apart so there's plenty of privacy, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and the views of the lake are incredible. Our back-in site which was constructed with concrete and pavers was easily accessible and level and the full hookups were well maintained and clean. Once we got settled in we did some exploring of the property it's nothing less than you'd expect from a Margaritaville Property this place is gorgeous and they didn't leave any stone unturned they definitely make the investment to do most everything right. Our site came with a nice fire pit and a charcoal park style grill so there was no need to unload the bus and use ours - the staff makes several trash pickups a day and there are a few trash receptacles located between the RV sites which are very convenient for drink bottles and residual trash if you're spending time outside so there is no need to accumulate your trash inside your camper. We didn't use any of the amenities except for the bar cart of course, this cart makes the rounds but is also accessible via a text or phone call if you drink faster than the time it take to complete their normal route and they will also delivery snack and food from the restaurant. I thought the pricing was very reasonable and everything they offer is listed in your information packet you received at check-in. It's not the cheapest campground we've stay at but it's next level compared to most and quiet. We were fortunate to have great neighbors all around us and none on top of us. This is very safe campground with onsite security that makes the rounds throughout the day and evening. Fortunately we had no issues with anything but they do have numbers to call if you do incur anything or just have questions. Access to the property is controlled so there aren't people roaming around raising hell and being obnoxious. It's remote enough to offer that quiet lakeside setting you may be looking for but close enough to civilization so you can take advantage of what the area offers. We definitely recommend that you pay the price of admission and check this place out, I know we definitely will plan to return here again in the future. It may not be 100% perfect but it's rare that you could find any campground that you can't find something to complain about if you try hard enough - I personally camp to relax and enjoy my time away so I am able to ignore most things I find annoying but I will agree with the other reviewers when it comes to the WiFi here it's terrible even with my WiFi Ranger it was almost impossible to stay connected for any length of time so I utilized my cellular services on my devices when I needed to get online. This is in no way a deal breaker for me but it is annoying as I stated before - hopefully it's better during my next visit as I am looking forward to repeating my recent experience at Camp Margaritaville at Lanier Island, what fun place... read more

The campground is gorgeous and sites are well thought out. The grounds are super clean. If you want the best lakeside spot, it's #30. Patio faces the lake and a quick walk down to the beach. Only problem? There's a total of 150 sites. A restroom in 3 locations with 1 shower in each building per sex. It was only a quarter filled and some one is always waiting to shower. And total of 2 washers in the whole park. (1 was broken). I can imagine what's like when it's full. Other than that minor inconvenience, I love this place. There is one section that has gravel Rv parking and patio but it's well worth the extra money for a nice level concrete parking and patio. Nice spacious sites. read more

We didn't even use any of the amenities other than our campsite, but we enjoyed it immensely. It's just a beautiful location and setting and Lake Lanier is a gem of a lake that watersports enthusiasts like me flock to. We had a great stay here over the 4th of July holiday. Several members of our family were staying in the lodge, and hubby and I stayed in the RV so we could be "base camp" for the family get togethers. The park is pretty new, and pavers are beautiful, good drainage on the lot, so we did have to use a couple levelling blocks (minor). The view is GORGEOUS as we were in spot 23 right by the lake. There's even a little beach down the hill, so the kids grabbed their floaties and hung out in the lake vs. going to the 'park' on the first day. the paver stacked firepits are VERY nice, as well as you have a high quality picnic table. there's a decent amount of room between sites as well. Power, water, etc. were all functional. The camp store is a 'drive' (or a golf cart); they do rent golf carts normally $25/day, but for holiday weekend was a whopping $137/day, so we didn't do that... we just moved cars around. You do have tight room to park two vehicles on your lot, so this worked out generally for us. Also, the camp store folks were super friendly and helpful; they have firewood, ice, beer, etc. there is supposed to be a tram operating at 9:30a thruout the day, but it was really, really elusive. It was super hot as well, so suggestion would be to get on a set schedule, post times (even estimates) as the family got pretty frustrated with trying to use this service. The bathhouse has one shower- so as they grow, it would be helpful to have at couple more; there is not laundry at this point, but I do see it on the plans for future. We LOVED our vacation to Margaritaville!!!!!! The sites are big, clean & level. There is a lake view from nearly all of them. On Friday night the campground served free burgers & dogs & $5 Margaritas. AND THE BEACH!!!! It's not the ocean my fellow parrotheads, but it's a GREAT substitute. Land shark bar & grill is right there on the beach and you have access to all the other restaurants at the water park. There was no fee for the beach but the water park is separate. We floated ALL WEEKEND!!!!! We will be back!!! read more

Nice views but not worth the $! has a lot of potential to be amazing but they've executed poorly. you can tell its all about the $ for them not the quest experience. Most resort campgrounds give you access to all amenities- if you stay at a hotel with pool & water slides they dont charge extra its included...well not here Everything is extra $-nothing is included! I've checked all the way back to reviews from 2021- every bad rvw gets a comment from Margaritaville about they'll have the campground manager reach out privately to make it right- I asked every person who wrote a rvw if they ever heard from a mgr & ALL SAID NO! needless to say I'll be shocked if someone actually connects with me about this review- Im not gonna hold my breath. To me that says "we don't care if you come back we already got your money" We booked this campground based on website info that the water park was extra and campers get a discount but we would have free beach access to the lake. We get there and sure as sh*t you have beach access but THE WATER IS ROPED OFF AND YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SWIM?!?! Who ever wrote the amenities list- hats off to you because you fooled me!! Who goes to the beach to sit in the sand and never go in the water? Really this is ridiculous!! Picture in comments for proof. We were told this is due to liability issues- after some internet research it was found that a 19 year old male drowned May of 2022- 30 yards from the beach. seems funny to me though that they have a bouncy obstacle course (that you pay extra for) in the water RIGHT PAST THE ROPE! Landshark landing was pretty cool-nice views- the restaurant's food tasted good- i was surprised the food actually had a unique flavor/seasoned well/taste to it. I would have gone back there a second time had it not been for the no less than 50 stairs you had to hike back up go get to the parking lot. By the time I got to the top I was winded (Im 36 and slightly overweight/out of shape but this had all of us huffing and puffing) The water park looked really cool however we didn't pay the $40 per person per day to get in- it should be included in your campground stay or at a minimum ticket price that you pay once to cover your whole duration of your camping stay. There's signs that say a pool is coming in 2024 but I've heard rumors this was promised and then the year of completion changed a couple of times. Hopefully they don't charge extra for the pool once its built. I would definitely rent or bring a golf cart you're go gonna need it!!- lots of hills everywhere. It was nice but again my slightly out of shape butt couldn't hack it. There is no dog park and from what I could see no plans to add one. Would really be nice to have the option to let the dogs off leash to play. No sort of playground at this time for the kiddos either. There is 1 laundry facility with minimal washer/dryers- you definitely need one laundry facility per loop Margaritaville! Too many camp sites to have this few laundry facilities! Sites 1-123 have little to no shade! Poor layout of the loops- little to no grass or space between each site! Definitely not even spacing either- campers/slides were hanging into other people's sites while properly positioned on their concrete slab. Our friends had their slide right next to the neighbor sites campground provided grill- one idiot who uses too much lighter fluid and a camper slide could catch on fire! Fire rings were sitting on slopes/hills so you couldn't sit all the way around them! The Margaritaville photography and marketing team did a kick butt job of deceit on their website! I would be very careful and arrive in daylight to get parked. Good luck backing into your site too! The angles of the spaces were not properly thought out at all- I would venture to say the people who did the actual site planning have never backed up a big rig because it was TIGHT and nerve wracking watching some of these rigs back in/pull out. It seems like these sites were cleared and thrown together real quick so they could start making money very little thought seems to have been put into the guests experience. Things we liked about the campground: we stayed at #162 the views were nice and close to a bathhouse. We had lakeview but no lake access. We saw tons of deer. For the most part everyone adhered to quiet hours. They have a golf cart bartender that drives around daily from 4-6 pm. I didn't realize it until our last night which golf cart was rhe actual bar vs a private camper- if the bartender played music/had signs it would be more obvious and probably make more sales. The bathhouses were nice-clean and air conditioned. Wouldn't mind using them if needed.​ read more

The place was amazing! We stayed during the week and was able to save a ton doing so. We had so much fun riding around on the golf cart and enjoying the beach that we stayed an extra night. Having the water park in the beach meant we were able to purchase my son a wrist band and watch him while we saved the cash on ourselves and used it at the tiki bar! Perfect!!! read more

Camping sites are nice, but this is way over priced for the limited amenities. We never saw the tram and drink cart that was discussed at check in. The beach area, Landshark Landing, is not kept up. The sand is not groomed, restrooms are dirty (first thing in the day) trash is not picked up, and beach chairs are all over from days before. You definitely need a golf cart (extra price) to get around. We had our bikes, but the roads are not bike friendly. To use the word "resort" is a stretch. I cannot believe Buffett has his name on this. I am not surprised the place is empty during what should be a summer vacation week. read more

Attention Campers with kids: this place is a RIP OFF. Last year we came for last week of July and used our free camp guest pass to enter the large beach and wave pool area. We didn't buy passes but had a great time with the other offerings. Fast forward to this year - we just pulled out on 7-29-22 - and the new rules PROHIBIT PAYING CAMPERS from entering the water park. You can pay $50 per person per day to access a pool - or you can just swim in the lake. They banished their high paying ($200 a night) camping guests to a tiny joke of a beach called Landshark Landing. There was nowhere to refill water (you had to be seated at their restaurant for that) and NOWHERE TO RINSE SAND off your feet. So those 70 steep steps back to the parking lot where they banished the campers with sand in your Crocs was just lovely. The music they played was about 5 seconds ahead of the music in the rest of the park. So even the music was AWFUL. They did EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE FOR THE CAMPERS. YOU HAVE NO POOL UNLESS YOU PAY $50 PER PERSON PER DAY. I have NEVER paid so much to be denied access to a pool! In 2 words, DON'T GO. I hope they change their HORRIBLE treatment of campers - until then we will spend our money on the Gulf Coast and NEVER go back to this RIP OFF MONEY HUNGRY JOKE. I would've had a better time in my pool back home for a week. read more

Very expensive place. Attractive at first but you pay an extra $15 to get in the park (disclosed at time of reservation). Spaces are very small and they've wiped out all trees so incredibly hot. Cable TV didn't work. Wifi intermittently disconnected. Quiet time supposed to be 8 am to 10 pm but they fail to tell you of a major construction project on phase II. Heavy equipment rolled in at 7 am. By 9 am we were having to yell to be heard as we tried to sit outside our RV and enjoy the lake view. Staff was very sorry but powerless. We will stick to State and National Parks from now on. Not our cup of tea at all. Not a place to enjoy the nature part of camping. read more

We were a little disappointed with the campground as they charge you for amenities and you don't receive them. There was supposed to be a shuttle every 30 minutes to take you to other area in the park and we were told they don't offer after water park closes. They advertised a welcome BBQ on Friday nights with free hot dogs and hamburgers with $5 margaritas. We called to inquire on what time they said, "oh sorry we don't do that anymore. If you don't offer it why advertise you do. I am paying for a resort cost and then on top of it I have to pay $15 to get through gate. I think this campground management team really need to look at there marketing strategy as it is really dishonest. I will go back to camping at Federal and State campground. Much cheaper and they are honest about what they offer. read more
