In terms of pricing it was a little costly to rent the RV but after checking prices elsewhere it was in no way out of line with what you are going to get anywhere else. Considering that all their units are very new I would say it was actually a bargain. When I picked up the unit they gave me a brief and very helpful tutorial (being a first time user) and then off I went with a fully prepped and cleaned RV. The trip was over 4000 miles and 11 days. During that time we had not one problem with the RV. It was more than up to the task even when climbing large hills, as is necessary in Yellowstone. ;) On our return the checkout was very quick and my deposit and refund for miles not used was returned to me very promptly. Overall the experience was so enjoyable I am now planning to purchase my own travel trailer in the future. If, however, I ever want to rent again in the future I would not hesitate to use Lightnin RV again. I highly recommend them.

Marykay, who is by far one of the most interesting, friendly, and intelligent people we've ever met, greeted us with a fresh bowl of eggs hatched that same day from her flock of 25 chickens. The alpaca herd was visible from the nearby gate -- all were happily chomping away at a pile of orchard grass (which Marykay later informed us is the equivalent of alpaca pizza). They are inquisitive, yet a little shy, but if you respect them they will return the favor. Both alpacas, chickens, and cottage guests have plenty of space so as not to intrude upon one another. We opted for the Alpaca Experience, which is an absolute must-do for all guests. It is incredibly informational and as interactive as you'd like for it to be -- assuming you are putting the animals' needs ahead of your own. Marykay is incredibly knowledgeable and has literally built the farm from a small chicken coop to a very impressive, tidy, organized alpaca haven. It is very evident that all animals are so loved, respected, and maybe just a bit spoiled from time to time. All are rescued from varying degrees of past hardship but their new life on Marykay's farm is a blissful existence, as evidenced by their calm, enthusiastic, and curious demeanor. The cottage itself is adorable -- easily comparable to the spaces and vibes found in Garden and Gun or Southern Living. The refrigerator is stocked with all the conveniences of home, snacks and beverages are available for those late-night cravings, and coffee at the ready for early risers. Everything was clean, warm, cozy, and loved -- just like the farm animals. Dare we mention the alpaca fiber blankets available throughout the space? The entire experience is what you make of it. Should you want to hole up in the house (not recommended when alpaca/chicken watching is so entertaining and the spirit of the various flower/vegetable/dyes gardens being so alive, but who are we to tell you how to spend your time), Marykay will absolutely respect your boundaries. But, if you're looking to truly experience something unique, as her a few questions. You will not be disappointed. We travel often and book via Airbnb regularly, however no place has been quite as comfortable, unique, interactive, and interesting as Decatur Alpaca Farm. Marykay has created something so unique and heartwarming -- every open-minded adventurer should include this place as a stop on the bucket list. As for the casual traveler, a couple nights in her garden will erase all stress, even if the alpacas are not your thing. We did not want to leave.

The decor in each home was elegant and luxurious down to the bedding. In addition, everyone at Atlanta Luxury Rentals was extremely responsive to our needs. Any time we phoned with a question, the answer was quick and resolved the issue. Their homes are also in fantastic areas. We stayed in two of the Inman Park homes and were able to walk everywhere. Normally, I would have moved to a hotel because "ick" -- our feet were sticking to the floor. However, I was traveling with my 84 year-old mother. She is very ill. She insisted on doing this trip to see her family, sadly, for the last time. There is no way I could've moved her to a hotel so we went ahead and slept there. The next day, I called twice to remind them to clean the unit. After a long day of visiting family, we returned to find the place untouched. This time, I asked to be moved to another unit in the same building. I could see from their website that they had available units. Again, this is so simple, just move me. First they said they wouldn't move me because there were only two- bedroom units in the building, I have a one-bedroom. Who cares?! You gave me a dirty room. Normally a property manager would be falling all over themselves to correct this issue, but these guys actually expected me to sleep there again with the promise of sending housekeeping the next day. I told them I didn't care about the cost, I just wanted a clean room and I would pay the difference. I also explained multiple times that I was traveling with a very sick woman. I packed our things and moved to the lobby. Two hours later, we were still waiting for the paperwork, to get some kind of management approval, for me to sign something, and for someone to walk over with an elevator key fob. The irony is no physical keys are needed, everything is electronic and the concierge could've just let me on the floor. But no, I had to wait. I called and I texted every 10 minutes, like a crazy woman, begging to be let in the room while I watched my mom sleeping, slumped over, in the lobby chair. I feel horrible, I don't believe I did the right thing for my mother. It's just a dirty room, why didn't I just put her to bed? We ended up walking to the hotel next-door. The concierge helped me move her. After I got her in bed and returned to the lobby of the building to pick up my luggage, the management company brought over the new key fob. Seriously? You guys could've let me into the new room and then did your paperwork and your policies and your management approval. You already had my credit card information, you already had funds for another three nights. It would've been nothing for you to let us in, but instead, you ghosted me. I get it. I was calling every 10 minutes, but you ghosted me. I was absolutely shocked when the concierge told me that new keys, of course on my dime, were delivered to the building.

We finally got too hot and quit, opting to do our own self guided tour. It was Sep--so not even peak heat times for Georgia--and I could feel my skin burning from not enough sunscreen like I was a vamp without my daylight right. It didn't really give you street addresses, just GPS. It would have been much easier with both, as much as possible. Maybe all of that could have been handled with better knowledge of the GPS options and apps on my phone, but I and my two teenage kids kept thinking we each knew what we were doing better than the other two. Finally, there was a mutiny and I had to abandon my "fun, easy" tour after half an hour or so. Instead, we walked around the square and then got addresses online for the other locations we wanted to see. Maybe if we had purchased the driving tour we would have been happier, but after shelling out money for the abandoned walking tour I just couldn't see spending that much additional money. I've done the Vampire Stalkers tour years ago and next time I'll book in advance and take my daughter on that one. We live close by, so it's not a big deal.
