Lol you would think someone touring a little lake for a living would be happy go lucky, not crotchety!! Cash only BTW.

However, at $20/pp for the canoes or kayaks, it was fine. It's paid per hour and up front. They do take card. You're given an hour, but they seem pretty loose about this. From our day out, though, you really won't spend much more than an hour out on the lake exploring unless you want to just stop and take in the views. We did that and still were just about an hour - after also going around the whole lake. Unfortunately, my seat in the kayak was broken and wouldn't sit up, so my husband had to use his legs to support my back rest the entire time. This made things rather uncomfortable, but that really wasn't their fault for not knowing. I even forgot to mention the broken seat when I got out since I was just kind of happy to get out of there. It's a beautiful lake, gorgeous housing lined on all sides. I really would recommend looking for a place with jet skis since we did see a lot of people using those and it looked like w lot of fun... but if you haven't been kayaking before or just want to explore the lake leisurely, this is definitely a good time.

It was a…read morevery straightforward set up - check in and get your life vests, take their shuttle bus to the starting point on the river, get whatever style tube you paid for (we chose tubes with backrests and one cooler tube), and get out on the water! We slowly floated down the river, listened to music on our small portable speaker, swam around, made a short stop along a rocky bank at the edge of the water, and got to the end point after just over 3 hours. We got the shuttle bus back to the Twin Rivers office to drop off the life vests, then went back to our car in the parking deck right across the street. Very simple, and lots of fun!

It was pretty much a 4 hour water gun fight (you must rent the water cannons- essential) with swim spots too, and the hot dog/pbj lunch was a sufficient and quick re-fuel. The staff was all nice, and the other families really getting in on the water gun fights made it fun (the pirates really only attacked the middle of the group on our trip- but they did interact while waiting to leave). The only thing I was disappointed in was that last time they gave us a heads up on where the picture would be taken, and this time they did not. Two of our group members had a photo of the back of their heads, which stinks, because I like to get the photo. Other than that, really nice day.

After checkin you are provided with fitted life vests and then given a 15 minute safety lecture regarding raft safety and etiquette. After a 20 minute bus ride to the entry point, you enter the raft and proceed down the Lehigh River. Amazing picturesque scenery with mild rapids for the family style tour. Several areas along this 8 mile adventure they allowed swimming. water was cold (60 ish) but refreshing. At the midway point an unexpected complimentary lunch was provided consisting of Hot Dogs, PB&J sandwiches, Chips, Macaroni Salad, Fruit and drinks. Very good selection and served by another great crew. Very clean and well organized. I would highly recommend Pocono Whitewater. Unless you are medically unfit, you can do this. Exceptional customer service sums up the team at Jim Thorpe River Adventures (aka LOC). They are extremely well organized which makes for a great trip. Everyone from the moment you enter LOC until the very end was polite, professional and wanted to make sure you have a great time. Some tips to follow: you only need to arrive 15 minutes before your group time, this allows ample time to get situated. Buy their pre-made lunch, it is well worth the 10 bucks, bring extra water on the raft (especially in the summer). Use the bathroom before you get on the bus (and be quick). They give you a dry bucket for your lunch and items, yes you can bring your phone in a dry pouch. Wear a hat and a sun shirt, it is hot and sunny, without much shade. Jump in the water when you have the chance !! If you are a "full figured" person it will be difficult to re-enter the raft, be aware. The trip down river is very safe and well organized. The guides are VERY safety aware ! If you are nervous and listen to them, the team will get you down the river without a hitch ! A few suggestions: don't go on a busy holiday weekend, it can get crowded on the river, the safety briefing takes a long time and you a sitting in the sun (remove your vest and drink water), during July and August I would imagine the water is very low and slow (if it is a dry summer)...best only if you want to have a relaxing rafting trip. However, I am confused on why they don't offer helmets especially with how many rocks there are. Our guide, Jake did openly swear at one of the customers for hanging onto his kayak, I understand it can be chaotic when people fall into the water and other people are frantically trying to get them back on the raft but it is very unprofessional in my opinion to be openly cursing at people for no reason. It could also be their first time rafting, and to have someone curse at you your first experience is not a good look. I also want to note the other guides were super helpful, it was just that one moment I noticed that threw me off!
