You must be a self contained camper to stay here. PCH can get noisy with all the cars driving by but after a long day at the beach, you just knock out. The restrooms nearby are cleaned every morning and trash cans are emptied pretty often. So much to do, we always come back whenever we could get a reservation. That can be a challenge because booking is always full in the summer.

He gave us the bad news that the dump was out of order, and as the main gate fellows, forgot to mention that the showers use tokens and they are sold back at the entrance. Then, being so new at this, I was hesitant and doubtful about parking, but a nice young man helped me. The campground lost stars because of the dump being out of order and PCH traffic noise through the night. We have a small, basic trailer, so is not sound proof. Bring earplugs and close all your windows and vents. Hope you can sleep. The hook up is accesible and easy to use.

They have 3 sets of restrooms along the walking path with three water fountains. At least one of the fountains I see has a fountain for dogs. Older bathroom, could use a power wash or at least an air freshener. Shower right on the outside to wash off the sand. 5/5 Parking No paid parking by the beach, unheard of. My eldest daughter and I were at Sunset Beach for the Sunset Beach Arts Festival on Mother's Day…read more05/11/26. What a quaint area! Beach was serene and lovely. Weather was perfect... not too hot or cold. We weren't able to stay for too long as we had another event to attend to that day. We were able to stroll through the area and enjoy the scenic drive. Lots of small shops and restaurants on the main road. It didn't seem too crowded at the time, but then again, it was early morning. I'm sure as the day goes by, there would be more people. Parking was hard to find or perhaps I wasn't looking at the right place. I would love to return here one day to see the sunset from this beach. It is named Sunset Beach so I can imagine how beautiful the sunset would be. Can't wait to find out!

Bolsa Chica State Beach and Park are always a nice getaway from the crazy Huntington Beach Pier…read morearea. People here are generally here to enjoy the waves, a good family time. The life guard huts have friendly staff and attentive to their post and jobs. This State Park has moved on to digital payment - you can now scan the QR code located at every lot and pay the $21 day use fee if parking inside. Note that all lots get pretty full by noon on Summer weekends.

There is free Wi-Fi; however, streaming might have issues when the park is full. Free laundry room! Well kept and modern located with the park restrooms. Our Verizon wireless router seems to have issues between 6 and 8 PM but works fairly good otherwise. Great T-Mobile 5G coverage! There's a small NEX within walking distance. No Restaurant on base however they do offer lunch at the gym/sailor Center during the work week. The gym is a very short walk from the park and is open 24/7! They offer a variety of fitness programs if you would like to participate. Very modern facility and equipment! There are several wonderful restaurants in the area! There's even a great little dive bar called Dave's Other Place where many Sailors stop on their way to Main Street when in port.

So in my defense, we are fully contained and have a full kitchen, flushing toilet and all our own tanks so no problem right. Nope, apparently campers are Ghetto. And they turned us away. Mind you we have no pop ups, and we are brand new. This is ridiculous. They did refund our money but that was not much of a consolation prize when we had to scramble to find a place to go. So we ended up at Bolsa Chica SB for one night thankfully. And landed in San Juan Capistrano for the next 4 days. It is just stressful to plan as it is happening in real time. Maneuvering the government websites looking for open places. Don't waste your time with these fancy people because they are obviously full of themselves with their parking lot RV park next to the stacks in Huntington .
