I went to the Rail Yard for a quick grab and go burger and fries at noon on Sunday and was happy to see, despite the lack of other customers, a great outdoor space, music playing, and nice, enthusiastic staff. I ordered the Double Smash burger on recommendation of the server with a side of fries. They had my food out and ready in under 10 minutes. While I waited I noticed the outdoor space. This place looks like it is probably a lot of fun to bring with some friends and your dog to grab a few drinks on a nice afternoon. The burger was huge! It had a robust flavor with a hint of spice. The fries were seasoned, but lacked a little flavor. Overall, this is a great burger, that is amplified by the venue, music, and good service. My one recommendation is Sunday at 12:00 pm may not be the most bustling scene, so go a little later on a nice day! read more

A group of my friends and I went here this week and it was awful service! We got there at 5:55 and the staff acted like it was absurd we were there. After wondering around for a few moments we went up to the bar and ordered and stood there for 10 minutes until the bartender acknowledged us. After we ordered we went and sat outside, the music was fairly loud but we could still speak and hear one another. After being outside for about 15 minutes one of the staff came outside and BLASTED the music so loud we couldn't hear one another at all and the speaker sounded like it was about to bust. We waited to see if it would be turned down but it wasn't so we went inside. While we were inside the same thing happened! The same staff member came in and blasted the music! It felt like they wanted us to leave. We then went back outside where the same thing happened again and they turned on the misters and our whole table got wet. Eventually we just left because the environment was so unwelcoming and we felt like the staff did not want us there. Saw the ratings on Yelp so decided to stop in on our way to the hotel from the airport. The guy that took our order was very friendly and knowledgeable, though very soft spoken for a big man. Ordered the catfish platter and was not disappointed. Super hot and very tasty. A bit surprised by the Franks on the side, but with the tarter it was very good. Daughter had the grilled cheeseburger. It was charred to a crisp, a well done beef lovers dream, which was not our intent. There were no juices left, and the only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars. read more

Cool funky place that definitely looks like a hangout for locals. It's tucked away behind the Clinton presidential library. But, it looks like it's part of a whole entertainment section with lots of other eateries nearby. We were the first ones there for lunch when we went. The food was really good other than the occasional screaming from little kids at the daycare center behind the place it was an exceptional visit. This is a neat little spot with a huge patio, which is it main draw. They also have a decent sized dining area, but it was empty while I was there and they also have a party room available. The dining/bar area has televisions playing, and is where you order your drinks. They do not serve food, but usually have food trucks on site. Even though they have many food truck partners, there was only one food truck, the Prickly Pickle, operating while I was there and they had a limited menu. I ended up getting a spicy chicken sandwich with a side of chips and fried okra. There is metered street parking available within a reasonable walking distance and They do offer some delectable cocktails, including slushies. The bartended was were friendly and helpful. He even came out to the patio periodically to take drink orders. As I mentioned, the patio is very nice and is a chill spot. They have tables with umbrellas, corn hole boards, and a few other fun things to do. They can host large groups and it was really a fun time. It was clean and was decorated with a colorful, festive vibe. The cocktails were very savory. I would just caution you that they will creep up on you, especially the slushes. This place is definitely worth checking out. I really enjoyed my time here. I just wish they would have had a better selection of food trucks. Food was excellent. I had a simple cheese burger with fries. The layout is a bit weird and somewhat caters to a younger crowd. If you are wanting to sit down and be waited on, definitely not the place to go. That being said, if you have a bunch of friends who want to just hang out, grab food at your own leisure, and have a beer, this is a perfect spot. The service was fine, but nothing to write home about. Since the layout is such that they basically only have bartenders, everything is on you. They were pleasant and the food came out quickly but it's hard to judge service when they are basically just taking your order. The burger itself was perfectly cooked and the fries were excellently made. They used premium ingredients and I've yet to have a better burger since I've visited LR this week! This place was nestled back in East Little Rock. I've never been to this part of town. I think a lot of locals like it. I think this place concentrates more on its bar existence rather than restaurant. That's ok be cause I'm going to review it as bar food. I give it a 4-star because it has good bar feel to try some local beers and such. We had the catfish and chicken salad lunch baskets. The fish and chicken was good but the fries were severely over seasoned. Still ok for bar food. Give it a try. Next time we are going for chicken tenders and something else. We visited this spot while we were back in Little Rock for the holidays, hanging out with family. One of my cousin's friends and a fellow frat brother (shout out to the Nupes) was promoting a Friday night happy hour so we decided to show some support. This restaurant is located in downtown Little Rock, a stones throw a way from the Clinton library, in a part of town that is still going through some gentrification. That being said, when we pulled into the parking lot around 7pm, there was a LPD cruiser parked in the parking lot with its blue lights on, just sitting. They pulled off as we entered the restaurant so I guess that was a good sign of safety in this neighborhood?! Either way, the parking lot was well lit and we felt safe so there's that. Because we had already eaten at a previous stop, we didn't order food. But, from what I saw, we will have to try them out the next time we are in town. However, we did have a couple of drinks. The good news - the drinks are really strong. The bad news - the drinks are REALLY strong. We ordered a couple of Mules and a vodka and tonic. They could have given us the bottle of Vodka and our self pours would have been more palatable. I don't normally complain about my alcohol pours but in the spirit of avoiding the police lurking outside, please pace yourself or call an Uber! read more

Outstanding burgers. Stopped off on a 9 hr trip to NWA. Was able to bring dog in (ate outside). They were doing music bingo and it was pretty busy. Fun vibe, lots of young families. Service was a bit slow, took us about 45 min to get our food. But again, it was pretty packed for a Thursday night. There are portable bathrooms available... I can't give any feedback on those. I would only ever use if a dire emergency. Everything I had was a pleasant experience. Such a cool place. They have outdoor seating with bags and darts. We had appetizers and burgers and they were delicious. Bartenders very friendly and they make a great jalapeño margarita. Great fun place food is provided by catering trucks on the outside. They have a band stage for entertainment also if you want to be indoors they have a kitchen as well. I personally ate from the cajon food truck and let me tell you wow a must . I had shrimp salmon linguine pasta with broccoli and a cream sauce, for only 16 dollars, you can't touch that so much for I could of split it but this delightful meal but so so good I ate it all. read more

Popped by here for a quick lunch while in town. I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was good; tender pork, moderately seasoned and nicely crunchy slaw. It was a little dry on Sauce in my opinion and slightly under-seasoned so I can't call it the best I've had or say that I absolutely have to have it again but it was good enough to hit the spot. My wife and I have visited The Railyard many times over the years since they opened many years ago. Their service has always been hit or miss. They are under new ownership from what we understand. The first visit back since the change was ok. The waitress served us at our seats outside promptly and was extremely nice. As they got a bit busier, the service got a bit slower and another server helped us out. Fast forward a few weeks, my wife was looking forward to a crawfish event. We showed up a little after 11 and we were told that they were not going to serve the crawfish until 1pm (no big deal). We brought our dog to and it was going to be a great day in the yard. We were told to order drinks inside and I was thirsty ! Upon walking in, we were told they were not open yet and I was confused. There were no drinks to be had. There was nothing indicating they had a change of hours on Facebook. It showed they were open. There were no signs that indicated they were closed. I walked outside and my wife was basically being escorted out and told they were not open. We were told we could return later .... Long story short, I doubt we return. SFO to LIR on family business, and staying at a nearby hotel downtown to be near the courthouse. This popped up as a place nearby with high ratings. Little Rock has developed quite the gastronomical scene, particularly downtown. This restaurant is in an area that's very relaxed, youthful, and hip. I parked across the street in the parking lot across from The Rail Yard. It's not a busy road, so no crosswalks. (Still-look both ways!) In the courtyard is a mini food truck park. I ate inside the restaurant, so don't know what trucks were out there. I'm disabled, and thankfully saw the ramp way down, at the end of the porch/patio. For some reason it wasn't obvious where the door was, but it was 4ish in the afternoon, and it looked closed. Luckily someone was in the courtyard taking photos of his ukulele/banjo looking instrument, and he assured me it was open. I walked up to the hosting stand, which is where you place your order for food. You self-seat anywhere available. If you want to order alcohol, there is bar where you pay separately. Got the Bull and Boar (smoked BBQ beef and pork) and a fried apple pie. As I grew up in this region, I got slaw on the sandwich( like you're supposed to) . It comes with chips. I paid, got a table, and went to the bar and ordered a glass (plastic cup) of Prosecco. The sandwich was huge, piled high and absolutely delicious. Tender, with soft textured chew meat, with a slight wood smoke flavor(hickory if I had to guess). It has a nice surprise with the addition of fresh sliced jalapeños. I got regular and spicy bbq sauce. I couldn't finish it, so looking forward to leftovers for later. The apple pie was delicious, with real fresh whipped cream. It was just the right proportion but I ate too much of the sandwich to eat it all. The staff is very friendly and chill-happy. It was slow for a bit during my visit, as there was only one other table of diners, but it started picking up around 5:45 with people coming in, as I was leaving. It definitely looks like a place that would be packed and hella busy on a weekend, especially with that cool outdoor dining area they have. I know BBQ. Went to college in Memphis, TN, and my Dad was a life-long BBQ cook, with a wood-smoker. He taught me about smoking meat, and so I'm picky AF when it comes to BBQ. California has bad BBQ, so whenever I'm in the Delta region visiting family, I go get some. The Rail Yard is worth the 5 stars it earned. I'll be back!!!! read more

We came here for a work lunch based on the recommendation of another colleague. We had the pleasure of meeting Paxton, the pit master. That kid is super proud of his products, especially the brisket. He also informed us before the meal that the kitchen is leased and run by a separate company than the guys doing the meat belong to. Something like that. After meeting him we decided that the kitchen wasn't doing his product justice. I ordered the trio platter with brisket, ribs, and sausage along with sides of greens and coleslaw. My plate came out with pulled pork in place of the ribs, and the same thing happened to one of my friends. I took what I got though, because our waitress may have been a little hard of hearing. She had also brought out a wrong drink order earlier. So the meat - damn tasty. I could see why Paxton was proud of that brisket. But going back to what I said earlier about the kitchen - they didn't do a good job of keeping the meat warm. All the meat was barely lukewarm when it came out - the pulled pork was cold and dry. So between the smoker - which is in a separate building - and the kitchen - the temperature was lost. The sides - my coleslaw was dry and lacking in flavor. The greens, though - tangy and vinegary and full of flavors. Delicious. I went back to Paxton after the meal to give him my feedback and he seemed grateful. On the flavor of the food, the decor, and the BBQ staff - great. But on the kitchen and service - not so great. I really want to give this place four stars but when all five of my group was in agreement about what the food was lacking - I gotta go with three. What a surprise this place was. We stumbled upon it while stopping to get coffee at a nearby spot while on a drive from Memphis to Dallas. Lucky us. Unfortunately, I didn't take pics of my food, which is a bummer because it all ended up delicious. Who would think chicken tenders could be such a highlight? The breading was delicious and the plentiful meat moist (sorry, hate the word but that's what it was). The fries were on point and so was their mac and cheese. Also, great beers/ciders on tap. I wish I could remember the name of the cider I got, but if you're lucky enough to get Sydney as your server, she'll lead you in the right direction. Recommend! What a great experience. Had a work event here. I was blow away with the bbq. From KC so I like bbq and not afraid to try bbq when I travel. This was top 5 places away from KC. The sausage was my favorite. The pulled pork was moist and the bark was delicious on it. The brisket was very tasty. Had great flavor without the sauce. We rolled into LR looking for a dinner spot and my fellow Yelpers rated The Rail Yard high so we stopped in on a Wednesday evening. From the jump this joint greets you with hip current decor, great signage and a menu full offerings that require several moments of reflection before you make a decision on what to order. Kelly-the owner was there and offered some great suggestions, our group went with ribs and brisket, dill pasta salad (which is unique to them and AWESOME) and potato salad, beans and greens. The meat comes sauce on the side-which is the way BBQ was meant to be eaten in my opinion. The portions were good sized, and they even tossed in a couple of extra ribs since we received the end of the brisket. We sat outside overlooking a huge courtyard with many different seating areas-it's really a great spot. Since I'm from out of town I don't know if they have live music there but I can't imagine a better spot for it. Didn't know what to expect when my husband brought me here but it ended up being a great experience! What makes this place unique is the whole concept and layout. They have their own menu and bar, complete with indoor seating. What really shines is the courtyard. A spacious courtyard welcomes you with covered seating, patio furniture, heat lamps, and food trucks of the day! You have different options when it comes to food and drinks. They rotate the different food trucks so that you can enjoy the flavor of the day while basking in the sun as you enjoy various local brews. Special shoutout to the guy in the booze truck for his wikipedia knowledge of all the different beers on hand. CHORIZO NACHOS!!!
