We were on a roadtrip in our VW Vanagon and something happened with the bearing for the clutch. Forgive me, I'm not a mechanic, but that's not the point. We called them from 2 miles away and they told us to bring it in. With my husband there explaining, and our regular mechanic on the phone, they fixed the issue and got us safely on our way. With a 1 yr old baby and all of our stuff packed, I was worried about having to stay somewhere, not having access to our stuff, and so on, but they got us going again and I am forever thankful that they fit us in. These guys put tires on my car. When I got home I had a flat tire. When I called them about it they were a holes about it. They said they did nothing wrong and that I had run over something. When I said I hadn't they got snotty and told me to take it someplace else. So I did and they said they had not changed the tire stem which should always be changed when tires are replaced. They misdiagnosed the reason for the pull to the left on our Corolla and the extent of damage a previous accident had caused to the chassis which was noticed IMMEDIATELY by Jason at Vince's Autobody down the street - If that wasn't bad enough I had Tim (who has left for Nebraska) work on my old Honda motorcycle replacing a choke cable (Tim has now left for Nebraska) and came back today because it would not start- I was informed by the NEW owner Alan (who seriously copped an attitude) that Tim wan't here and he was not a motorcycle shop so I was SOL even though Tim had performed the work in HIS shop on HIS time - wouldn't even give me the time of day because LUNCH was so important to this self-appointed king of the automotive world! Really dude - this is a small town and we don't give a rat's ass if you or your 6 year old daughter is the owner - cop an attitude with enough people and you are will be filing bankruptcy and go begging for a job yourself! My advice - STAY AWAY!!!! There are plenty of mechanics who are glad to have your business AND if they can't help you will at least treat you with courtesy and respect and point you in the right direction! read more

Within the first five minutes of my visit to this repair shop, one of the owners was belittling and warning against another repair shop in town that I had done business with. His words were, "And you are still on the road, amazing." I immediately knew that I may have made a mistake coming to this establishment. Without going into all of the detail, doing business with them cost me an extra $300, a tow bill back to their shop to fix what they broke, and a forced purchase of unneeded and unnecessary parts. Our experience here was brief but extremely unpleasant. We had our truck towed to Camp Verde Automotive after it broke down the road. Before my husband made it to the front door someone stuck their head out and shouted not to leave our truck there because they don't work on diesels. I can understand that they do not perform work on diesels but to shout it out a door in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner was not necessary. Even the tow truck driver was appalled by their rudeness. Fortunately our tow truck driver helped us find a diesel mechanic nearby. Something Camp Verde Automotive could have done. We will never take another car here (any type). read more

And this mechanic knew this, also that I am a woman in my 20's. he took advantage of that, told me it was going to cost me $2,000 to fix it so I had it towed back to Scottsdale because I thought 2,000 was ridiculous... sure enough.. He fixed my truck and even charged me the actual labor time it took him rather than the extra time "the book" stated it should have taken to fix it. We had a rough trip heading to Flagstaff and we apparently worked our brakes pretty good and scared ourselves half top death thinking our car was not functioning correctly. We pulled into this automotive shop and a real life Angel greeted us. He explained how we needed to ease up on our brakes and to relax and have a coffee at thanks a latte and let our car have a break. But more than anything he gave us what we ALL lack most... Go somewhere else. Had to take our car here because we didn't have any options as our car broke down in the middle of the night. Returned the next day because they called and said the car was fixed. We needed a new fuel pump and it was now replaced for 395.00. Upon arriving and paying, Allan said that because our gas tank was full, and with the types of repairs needed, we would smell gas for a while. We paid and we went to leave and noticed that the seat adjusters were broken. We can't be certain that it wasn't like this, but it didn't seem right so we inquired about it. Allan cut us off by stating, "Excuse me! We didn't do that. My guys would have said something if they did that". Okay, since we weren't certain, we dropped it- even though Allan had said they had to get under the seats to make the repairs. Driving home, the gas smell was present but we thought it would eventually go away. Then it came time to fill up the tank- this made the gas smell WORSE! The fumes inside the car were extremely strong and could even be smelled outside the car. We took it to a different FIVE Star mechanic who looked into it and discovered that the fuel pump seal had been broken and had to be replaced. This was the reason why the fumes were getting into the cabin. Sloppy work that could have resulted in possible death or brain damage due to the fumes. For your health and safety, we do not recommend this place. read more

Our teenage daughter's car was having some brake issues and we did not want her to drive it down to Chandler so we had her stop at Camp Verte automotive. Rather than being helpful to young women they were rude. Lecturing them on where they drove and telling them they couldn't leave the car overnight. My clutch failed on my car while traveling near Camp Verde. The tow truck dropped my car at Camp Verde Automotive after hours. I called the following Monday and spoke with Alan. They gave me a fair estimate however, since I was considering trading the car anyway, I elected to just pick it up without getting it repaired. When I went to load my car on the car dolly, they assisted me in loading it and were extremely courteous. Even allowed us to clean our hands in their shop. My car broke down on I-17 and I was towed to Camp Verde Automotive. I was so impressed with the owner Mike and his whole team. My 12 year old car needed a new engine. I was totally careless with maintenance and learned that cars need water just like us dehydrated folks in the desert. I was given all my options but most importantly they were concerned that I find a way back home to the Phoenix area because nothing could be done with my car that day. Mike was kind enough to take me over to the shuttle stop so I could get to the Phoenix airport and make my way home from there. The transmission went out on our truck in Camp Verde, AZ while it was still under warranty with our Parker, CO Transmission shop. We had Good Sam Roadside Assistance and they had it towed here. Mike at Camp Verde Automotive was up front with us that they did not work on transmissions. They could drop and replace them, but not do any actual work on them. They did an initial evaluation and were able to see what the problem was, but not what had caused it. Since it was still under warranty, we found a transmission place in Phoenix that could do the work. Camp Verde Automotive locked our truck up overnight and helped get it loaded onto the tow truck again the next morning and didn't charge us anything for all their time. If we had had a non-transmission mechanical problem, we would have felt very comfortable having them work on our vehicle. Thanks again for your help, Mike! read more
