    Let me start this review off by saying I have had 0 issues with Sal Mosto and The Car Consultants…read more I've purchased 2 cars from him, and have loved them. That being said, the way Sal has treated my partner leaves much to be desired. I set up contact between Sal and my partner, and expressed the type of vehicle my partner was looking for, and left them to discuss. My partner called Sal, and after greetings were exchanged my partner noted Sal sounded off and asked if it was a bad time and Sal replied "well yeah I'm watching the game. Can I call you back" 5 minutes later texted my partner back "Hey bud my apologies I didn't realize you were Jamie's boyfriend I thought you were telemarketer you can give me a call back if you're available" He and my partner play phone tag for about a week as my partner was working crazy hours, but would always call Sal back once he realized he missed a call. January 2nd, Sal called my partner to check in, and left a voicemail. My partner calls him back a couple hours later after he got off work. Sal doesn't answer, but sends him a text of "I'll call you back" Well...it's been 3 months and we haven't heard a thing since. If The Car Consultants decided we weren't good enough clients from the get go, even though I've done business with Sal before, I wish he would've said something. Instead he left us in limbo, and made ME look like an idiot for recommending Car Consultants. Huge shoutout to Capital Toyota for helping us find my partner his dream car and treating us like our business was worth the effort.

They also said they could not pre-order one nor would they search for and trade for the one we wanted. Gave the Car Consultants a call and Sal found one for us at a Southern California Dealership in one day. Sal completed all the paperwork on line and arranged to have the vehicle transported to Morgan Hill by trailer. We met Sal at his office in Morgan Hill to take delivery. Fantastic, smooth, quick transaction and saved us money on the price. *late review as this transaction took place in August of 2024

They took the time to answer all of our questions without any pressure and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. What really stood out to me was how kind they were to my son. The team surprised him with a toy Nissan Skyline just because -- such a small gesture, but it meant so much to him (and to us). It really showed that they care about people, not just sales. We met Eddy right away, nice friendly guy who joined us on 3 different test rides. UnFortunately, a few of the cars they had had a lot of scruffs and scrapes and dents that weren't shown in the pictures. So we weren't sure which one we wanted to go with. I told eddy that we were getting hungry and we wanted to come back afterwards he said that is fine. I asked what time they closed he said 7pm but not to worry about it. We ate and came back at exactly 7pm. The mood completely changed. Eddy was tense and no longer friendly. I asked if he wanted us to come back tomorrow but he said no it's no problem. We wanted to see how much we could get on trade. He sat us down in his office and went off to speak to his Supervisor. This is were things took a turn. We can hear this guy yelling at Eddy and raising his hands. He said "Eddy leave me alone I'm working on this Report go ask the other guys". Then Eddy said the clients are in the other room. Then his supervisor got up and said okay I guess let's go look a the trade. At this point I got up and told the guy we will be leaving. I was so upset with how he treated his staff. So unacceptable. He didn't even apologize instead he said we are busy and you should come back tomorrow. We shook Eddys hand and left. We were ready to buy a car but the a hole supervisor lost his cool and ruined it for everyone. If he treats his staff like that I can just imagine how he treats his customers. Never okay to treat someone like that, coworker or not.

    I am extremely disappointed with my sister's recent purchase from Salinas Auto Sales and would…read morestrongly advise others to proceed with caution. Within the first five (5) days of her taking possession of the vehicle, multiple material issues arose, including a non-functioning blinker and several dashboard warning lights illuminating. These defects raise serious concerns about the condition of the vehicle at the time of sale and whether it was properly inspected or disclosed. The vehicle was also sold to her at a price significantly above market value, particularly given its high milage and the immediate mechanical concerns. When she contacted Salinas Auto Sales, she was initially told to bring in the vehicle in for a "recall". After independently verifying her VIN, there was no recall associated with the vehicle. She was then given a different explanation-that the issue was related to an out-of-state title transfer-which is inconsistent with the vehicles recent California registration history (2025). At this point, she asked what the options were for all these concerns to be addressed. In addition to these concerns, there were discrepancies in the sales documentation. Her trade-in was not initially reflected on the contract, and the purchase of the warranty was not properly documented at the time of signing. I had to tell her to go back and have the contract revised and resigned to be valid. I also told her to get a copy of her warranty documents which they originally did not present to her. These omissions are significant and should have been clearly and accurately disclosed. When she attempted to ask reasonable follow-up questions and seek clarification, the owner became rude and dismissive. She also experienced comments that she perceived as degrading and inappropriate, including statements implying that she was only sold the vehicle because of who she was accompanied by at the time of purchase. This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Overall, she did not experience transparency, accuracy, or a good-faith effort to resolve legitimate concerns after the sale. Based on her experience, she questions the dealerships sales practice, documentation accuracy and customer service. I strongly encourage prospective buyers to independently verify vehicle condition, pricing, VIN history, and all contract terms before completing a purchase with them. As a result, we are currently reviewing her consumer protection rights related to this transaction and will be filing a formal complaint to the California DMV Investigations unit.

    Exactly one month ago, I went in to Salinas Auto Sales and made a purchase of this 2008 Chevy Tahoe…read morew/156,800 miles. Mando was amazing! I am 31 yrs old & I never had the opportunity to purchase a new-used vehicle. My last vehicle was 95' Ford F-150 that I had for 8 yrs. It was time for an upgrade that was within my means. I will say that my credit score was shitty. & Mando was able to insure me that with $3,000 down payment he would be able to get me approved with a $452 payment. I knew what I was getting into with not having a co-signer. The same day when I took it home, I noticed a chip in the windshield on the passenger side and I also noticed that the breaks were squeeking. So I called Mando and told him the issue. He reassured me that he would discuss it with the owner of the dealership and make sure I was taken care of. Today marks exactly one month and I just picked up my Tahoe from them after dropping off last week to do repairs to the breaks and windshield. Come to find out that there was a bad sensor in which they also replaced. I also want share that they did provide me with a loaner vehicle while the were making repairs to my Tahoe. All and All, if you have bad credit or no credit and are looking for a vehicle pay Salinas Auto a visit.
