I was in a pinch and my car needed to be towed to LA, but the fancy carbon fiber I put on the front bumper made it impossible to get onto a tow dolly. So I went over to Greenwood Ford and asked if they could give me a hand to remove my bumper. To my amazement, Dominic said they would gladly help me! Now friends, I have a Hyundai and was worried they wouldn't want to touch my car with a 10 ft dip stick so I thought maybe they misheard me. I say to Dominic again are you sure? I say "It's only a 2.0 L 4 banger and not a 5.2 L supercharged V8, are you sure?" He said it was fine. In astonishment I asked again, "are you sure because while it is turbocharged it isn't a 6.7 L Cummins turbo diesel capable of producing 1000 ft-lb of torque, are you sure?" We purchased a used truck and were told the truck had been thoroughly inspected and was in full working order; their term is blue certified. We found the driver's seat to not be fully operational. We face them two days and they then said they made the repair. When we went to complete the purchase we found the seat to still not be fully functioning. The manager said we could take it to a Ford dealer and the repair would be covered and that Greenwood would reimburse the $100 fee the other Ford dealer would charge us as the truck was certified through Ford. I took the truck to a Ford dealer near me; they found additional items needing repair indicating Greenwood Ford was not honest about the truck being in full working order. The dealer near my house said they will charge me over $200 per item needing repair. I am waiting to hear back from Greenwood regarding their integrity as a business; I trust they will stand by their word and cover the cost of all repairs as they insured the truck was in full working order yet many items are not fully functional. I will update my situation as it unfolds. UPDATE: the Ford dealer will be ordering the necessary parts to make the needed repairs and this will be covered at their cost. This place is shady AF. I drove an hour and half today to buy a specific car on the lot. It is a make that Greenwood is not the dealer for. I had an agreement with Greenwood that I would take the car to the closest dealership for the car I wanted and pay for a pre-inspection, and if the car checked out I was going to buy it today. The sales associate agreed to all of this yesterday, so I made an appointment with the other dealership. Today after I got to the lot I was told I couldn't take the car for an inspection prior to purchase. We've bought 3 NEW vehicles at this location in the last 4 years. 1 after the name change. 1. Focus SEL. The transmission started going out in less than a year. They low balled the trade in and pressured my wife to by the extended warranty. 2. Focus ST. They again low balled my trade in to the point of me having to get up during the sales and say give me my key back. I declined the upscale tactic of the extended warranty to find it on the contract. After saying no I didn't want this, the finance guy laughed and said, well it's there, you might as well just sign it. Umm no. I made him print another contract. There was a scratch that was noted in the contract for them to fix. After bugging them to fix the noted scratch for months, they told me I had to fix it. I drove down there to pick up a touch up paint tube to find out it's the wrong color and had to go back. I traded this vehicle after a year before it started giving me problems. 3. Explorer Limited 4wd. Other than having to sit there all day, nothing bad about the sale. The power outlet wasn't connected and it took all day to fix. The front windshield weatherstripping deteriorated in less than a year. Took it in and they ordered the wrong side. The paint on the front of the hood started bubbling. Now we were misinformed. We were told the hood would be swapped and it turned into having to leave it a couple of days because they don't know how to match the factory color. And left us without a car. As I write, we've been coming to this dealership at least 2 times a week for the last 4 weeks for issues that should be nonexistent. Most of these issues are from the factory but, not one visit to this place has been exceptional. Low balling, sneaky up sales, incompetence in parts ordering and being inconvenienced. At one visit I believe I was judged for wearing an American flag on my shirt. When the service advisor was told by the receptionist to help us, he looked at my shirt and said nothing. Just started looking at his computer screen. Finally, there are signs stating masks must be worn but, more than half the employees are not wearing masks. I had a very positive experience with Jake (sales rep) and Ray (Sale Manager) on 7/27/22 and would like to give a shout out and kudos to both of them and Greenwood Ford for their outstanding customer service, extra effort, and integrity. I live far away and wanted a truck they had listed online. I had to not only negotiate the sale with them but then fly into SFO (from out of state) and Uber all the way to Hollister to finalIze the sale process, pick up the truck, and drive it home. My experience from the moment I interacted with Jake over the phone was outstanding. Jake was courteous, prompt, honest, and professional. He helped negotiate a fair market price, work through the logistics of how to get the deal done over the phone and email, got the truck all beautifully detailed and filled with fuel, and had it sitting all ready for me to pick up when I arrived early the following morning from SFO. He and Ray were also friendly and genuinely great to work with and very sensitive to my circumstances. They made an extra effort to help get the transaction readied and closed in only a couple hours after I arrived in spite of being very understaffed due to COVID and other circumstances that day. I had a very long drive back home and they helped me get on my way promptly. I found the exact truck I wanted, negotiated and closed the deal remotely, flew and Ubered down to get it, and was back home with my new truck in less than 24 hours. A few weeks ago I had a problem and needed a tow truck. Manny, from Greenwood Ford, came to my rescue. Unfortunately, the person who took the call my husband had made for a tow, misstated my circumstance, she reported it as a flat when in actuality there was a hole in the sidewall so it had to be a flatbed, tow as there was literally no air and it was down to the rim. Manny was so kind, he kept calling his manager to see if he could tow it 1.2 miles to the San Benito Tire Pros and Automotive. Unfortunately he could not as our Hyundai Roadside Service would only tow it to an Authorized Service Dealer, which was 18 miles away in Gilroy..sheez! Long story short, we ordered a Ford Explorer from a dealership that was close to Greenwood Ford. After months of not getting info, then getting the worse customer service ever we decided not to buy the car we ordered. A week after that decision we found a car online at Greenwood Ford, emailed the dealership and that day we drove to Hollister to check it out. As soon as we walked towards the Ford Explorer we wanted to look at, David walked to us and asked if we were the ones that emailed them. He started talking to us about the car and showed us he cared by researching the answers to the questions we had in our email. It was so satisfying to ask a question and have the salesperson know the answer or actually know where to find the answer. David is so knowledgeable about all the Ford cars. It was really sad that the other dealership's salesperson and sales manager had no idea about the car they were selling, especially not even help look for an answer. After going over the details of the car we talked to Kyle, who was also very knowledgeable. Kyle got all our paperwork done quick and easy. David and Kyle more than made up for the bad experience that we received from the other dealership. We're really excited about our new car and the customer service we received from Greenwood Ford! I've taken in my vehicle to get serviced multiple times the past few years and absolutely no problems with the technicians, they have been great and thorough with their work. Work has been done in a timely manner and any discoveries made during a simple tune up are explained and notified of promptly. I even went in many years prior to look at a vehicle and the salesman was very prompt and stayed in touch throughout my process of looking for a vehicle. However I've had many unpleasant experiences with the receptionist at the service area. The older aged woman at the desk has always been impolite and absolutely no sense of customer service. Today's experience I was greeted by the service tech I met with while dropping my car and he promoted me to wait for her while she returns. I have absolutely no issue waiting, it's understandable, however when she returns she sits there and completely ignores me until one of the techs across tells her that I'm waiting for her. She just stares at me with no greeting at all until I finally mention what I'm there for. Then proceeds to very rudely finish the transaction. This has been one of multiple instances I've encountered with this woman in particular and it's very unpleasant as I am simply here to pay for my services. Not to mention the time she attempted to argue with me about a warranty she had no understanding of so I asked to helped by someone else and she rolled her eyes when I asked. I'm not expecting vip service but some common courtesy/ manners can go a very long way. It's convenient for me to drop my vehicle off to get serviced while I live in town but at this point the experiences have been a deterrent into me coming back and dreading this unpleasant experience each time. read more

I've frequented this businesses service department for my vehicles issues. At first , I thought the less than great customer service was simply due to one individual , however, my latest visit it was apparent that 4 of the 5 people I encountered shared the same attitude. Upon arrival , I was not greeted with as much as a hello, or good morning. I was asked if I had an appt . I said yes, the man pointed and said go talk to him. I walked to the service desk and again, not even a hi, I said I had an appt . The man just began clicking on the computer, he said I need to get the vehicle info... I asked "do you even want to know my name?" "No". He then walked past me out to my car and back in . Gave me the sheet over paper to sign. Again, no conversation happening explaining what they would be doing , how long to expect it to take , nothing. I return this evening to pick up my car and there are no customers in the service dept. I go up to the man behind the desk and say I'm here to pick up my vehicle , he points to the receptionist and says go to her. There is a woman there talking to another employee... I wait. And wait... again no on acknowledges me or says , hello, we will be right with you... nothing. She finishes talking and puts some papers ways and finally looks Up at me , no words, just a look , but it says "what do you need" She has me sign and I told her my address was incorrect...(I mentioned this last time I was there also) she said well you should've mentioned it when you first came in this morning (I didn't see my address on the paper this morning ) I said I didn't realize this , and I didn't need it fixed on my receipt but if she could fix it now for future use? She said no, I can't do that . You have to ask in the beginning (what??)
