He took my information and went inside and brought out the manger who was a total Dick. He did not want to play the game with us and said straight up we can't sell at that price. Heard they had new management and I needed truck serviced. This review is specific to the service department; I can't speak to the sales side. However, based on my service experience, I would not feel comfortable buying a vehicle from this location. I brought my truck in for a basic service and oil change. I specifically asked--verbally and clearly--that the tires be rotated including the spare, as one tire had recently been replaced and I wanted to ensure even wear. This was explained directly to the service advisor at the counter. I was later notified that the truck was ready for pickup and was also informed that an additional item needed replacement under warranty. After getting the truck home, I noticed the spare tire looked odd. It was not the original-size spare but was noticeably smaller (by an inch or two) and still mounted on the spare rim. Upon further review, Chevrolet does not recommend using this spare for extended driving, which makes rotating it questionable at best. I also noticed that none of the tires were inflated to Chevrolet's recommended PSI, even though proper inflation is a standard part of a tire rotation. I called to provide this feedback and to schedule the warranty repair. Since then, I've made five phone calls (including to the manager) and sent four texts, with no resolution or appointment for warrenty item. That is an unacceptable lack of follow-up. I had some poor experiences here a year or two ago but was told at that time that management had changed and operations had improved. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. I would recommend going elsewhere for Chevrolet service. I'm very disappointed that basic quality control and simple follow-up--answering calls or returning messages--are still an issue. This is a very low bar for auto service, and it wasn't met. Not sure what they did with the tires but the senors are messed up as well. Now I will have pay to have another shop fix what they guys could not or would not do. Should be zero stars. read more

Brought my SUV in for some issues. it took almost a month to fix one issue (I guess parts were back ordered?). picked it up to find it had new issues it didn't have before. I had to go back and forth 3 times in a week ti pick it up because they kept saying it was fixed. or they couldn't find the issue. An extra week, a rental they won't cover (my car had an extended warranty too!), and i never got an answer. we finally picked it up and explored other options elsewhere. I bought a 2022 Prius Prime from them. I like the car, not the dealership. Gilroy Chevrolet puts the steal in stealership. Rick sent me an out the door price of about 30k. Come to the finance office? It goes UP to about 32k. Marquise made me buy some BS warranty to "make up for the tax credit", which I understand in theory, and by the way, is actually illegal according to the IRS, but doesn't justify the additional 2k all of a sudden. I'm never going to shop there again. Not to mention, in regard to the used EV tax credit, yes, they can provide the POS discount, but they conveniently forgot to include the MANDATORY Time of Sale (TOS) report that I'm still trying to go after them for. Don't bother emailing them as emails go on deaf ears. Not only that, but they also conveniently forgot to take off the wheel locks off their car and did not include the key. If you have the option, do not shop here. It's clear their number one priority is to suck every penny dry off of you. Wouldn't be surprised if they did the ridiculous markup during covid. read more

I took my grandparents 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in for a couple problems. They had it for several days without calling to give us any kind of update. When we got it back they fixed one of the problems but not the original problem that we brought it in for. It had a problem with the Homelink system and the service manager insisted that I had to take it home and call Homelink for them to help me program it. I told her I know how to program it but the car won't let me. So I took it home and called, within 5 minutes Homelink told me there is something wrong with the car and I have to take it back to the dealer! I called her and she said she would call me back. I waited all day and finally called them just before they closed. She wouldn't get on the phone and instead told her service writer to tell me she would call me first thing in the morning. I waited all day and she never called! They told me over a half a dozen times, by several people that I would receive a call back and no one ever would. It was so bad that I took the car to a dealer more than 45 minutes away. If you tell a customer you're gonna call them back it's not hard to stick to your word. After going there for years and spending more than 60k on a car from them it's just terrible that they treat their customers this way, there is just no excuse for it!! I would not recommend going to this dealer for anything, you're much better off going to another dealer even if it's a little more drive! read more

After a year went by I tried to do my yearly update and found out someone at that dealership switched it to a V1 series which is 10 years old. I contacted Gilroy Chevrolet Cadillac regarding their 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Pre-Owned to be precise I chatted with 3 different individuals Joseph, Ayana, and Thanh I contacted them yesterday 01/24/2020 before 8am and in the afternoon and also this morning they all gathered my contact information email and or phone number yet no one followed up with me regarding my concern/question. No phone call no email and I also checked my junk mail in case the email was stored there, but nothing. My only question/concern was that in the vehicle description stated that interior of the vehicle was marked as "adrenaline red" yet while looking at the vehicle pictures I could see that the interior was actually black. Today 01/25/2020 at around 3:30pm I had to drive to Gilroy from San Jose just to check the interior of the car because no one was able to follow up with me and as busy a dealership could be I know for a fact it doesn't take not even 3 minutes out of their time to check on something so simple. Service Manager was unavailable to speak with me regarding my car's issues and clearly not interested in being of service to customers. Then liaised through service advisor, Adrian, who told me to contact GM Warranty to see about coverage for my vehicle. I was then told by the case manager for GM that I was denied cost assistance for not being a "loyal customer" even though they initiated me to reach out to GM Warranty after noting this issues with this model of car. To be denied assistance because of retaliation by the service manager is extremely unprofessional and beyond disappointing. Especially since our family owns 4 Chevrolet vehicles and have tried to bring our business locally. I have spent thousands of dollars returning to this service center for my car's maintenance and diagnostics the past 3 years, and was very appreciative of Adrian's help at the time despite my frustration that they were trying to have me pick up my car without repair due to the rotor machine being broken. I expressed my frustration in a clear and calm manner and even apologized to Adrian for any frustration or negativity expressed toward him that may have been taken the wrong way, but clear this was not received well either. I will not be returning my vehicle to this service center and neither will my family (we have a total of 4 Chevy vehicles total). The level of disrespect and lack of empathy was disappointing and will be sharing my experience with others to discourage bringing their business to this center. I recently visited Gilroy Cadillac to check out a CT5 model that I was very interested in. It was the only CT5 model that had black wheels along with many other features that I wanted. The bonus was that it was the only 2026 in the area with the wheels I wanted. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by Rick Encarnacao, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Within 15 minutes the finance manager had valued my trade-in and written up a proposal that was more than fair. I was very impressed with the efficiency of this dealership. What was even more impressive was that they offered me $5,000 more for my trade-in than the dealership that I originally purchased my current car from. Rick was very good about following up with emails and texts without any pressure-just friendly reminders that the vehicle was still available and asking if there was anything else he could help me with. The only reason I did not purchase this striking car was because my husband thought it was too similar to our current car. They don't know how to do anything but do what the computer says to do. Don't ever go to their service department. Where Maria took them up to 2 stars - their service manager took it back down to 1. My car was in their shop for a little under two weeks for a battery replacement, new water pump, new thermostat and a bolt to get replaced on my transfer case and the only time I got updates on my car is when I called and, I was either put on hold or they said they would call me back. AVOID THIS NON-SERVICE DEALERSHIP!!! The staff at this dealership appear to have overlooked the significance of customer service. As a consumer, I feel obligated to bring my vehicle in for maintenance, and I regret purchasing the costly vehicle service package, believing it would be convenient due to my history with GMC/Chevrolet. Unfortunately, this decision has proven to be a significant error. Each time I brought my vehicle in for service, I encountered incomplete work that necessitated return visits. For instance, I scheduled time off for a motor and transmission oil change, expecting it to take around six hours. After seven hours, I learned that only the motor oil had been changed, while the transmission oil was neglected. As someone with a disability, I find it frustrating that I can perform an oil change in under an hour, yet the dealership's so-called experts took an entire day for a simple task. Additionally, I faced issues with the heated seats, which I specifically wanted for my back problems. After bringing the vehicle in to install a missing chip, they failed to connect the necessary wires, leading to yet another day off work. Most recently, I endured another six-hour wait for an oil change, a task I could complete in thirty minutes. Given these repeated disappointments, I have requested a refund for the service package, which has proven to be anything but beneficial. The service package should be rebranded as a non-service package. I discussed my concerns with Shawn Yawamy, the Finance and Insurance manager, explaining my complaint and my frustration with the time wasted. I am seeking a refund for the services that were not delivered as promised. If the dealership's service department lacks the ability to provide decent customer service, they may be in the wrong industry. While I recognize that I may not receive a full refund, I expect a fair amount. Would I recommend this dealership? Absolutely not. I have been a loyal GMC/Chevrolet customer for many years, purchasing multiple vehicles, including a GMC Sierra in 1998, a new 4x4 Silverado in 2005, another Silverado E-assist in 2017, and an Equinox in 2022, all of which I financed initially and then paid off. I have also referred family members to GMC/Chevrolet dealers, who subsequently made purchases. However, I am now reconsidering whether to buy from this dealership or even from GMC/Chevrolet in the future. The service manager Kurt waved my bill. He did not have to do that, but he wanted to make it right for me. That I appreciate. It is not always easy being on that side of the desk. I was probably a bit upset and went right to a review out of anger and I should not have done that. The problem was taken care of, Kurt came out and apologized for the lack of communication and held himself accountable. You gotta respect a dude like that. The service department contacted my elderly father to let him know the parts they ordered a month ago were now in; asked for the vehicle to be dropped off. As of today, the vehicle sat for 5 days. He called to check the status of the repair and was told they knew nothing about the repair work and that they did not have the parts he was told were in. THEY RAN OUR CREDIT WITHOUT OUR CONSENT!!! A violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The finance guy (Sean, Arta or Nick) never return my calls. I May need to get an attorney. We had told the salesman Horacio that we had a pre-approval letter from our bank and he said: "in order to view the pre-approval I need some basic information since we are a part of (not the correct acronym- I am sure) CDU with your SSN and DoB." Next thing we know, 14 points were docked off of our credit report as per an app that tells us what's what. We immediately asked the finance guy and says: "sorry about that he's new and didn't tell me you had a pre-approval. It's not that big of s deal though." My husband showed him and upon me saying that FCRA had been violated he said he'd write to each credit reporting agency. Thank God I didn't read the Yelp reviews here before calling the dealership or I would have had so many added negatives to be carrying than just something being off. They are obviously not perfect, BUT whomever hired Jose Lopez as the GM made quite an investment. He is a true leader, he doesn't sit on a desk/throne somewhere expecting his employees to kiss his ring! He answers the phone, he greets people in the showroom, & he writes up service requests!! Jose won me as a customer from his first impression. Like turning around a huge ship taking time, Jose should eventually get this place in order by his stellar customer service skills. I dropped my vehicle off for a factory recall update. The Service department then texted to tell me that I needed new front AND rear brakes at a quote of over $1000 for BOTH, which I declined. I didn't tell them but I had already done my front brakes 2 months prior. When I picked up my vehicle the paperwork only stated that I needed rear brakes, which was accurate and expected. I have since had my rear brakes done elsewhere as well as my front brakes re-inspected just to be sure. read more
