The views across the valley can be lovely - you may get more sniffs of nature than you desire on certain holes, but that factors into the ambiance. Clubhouse: Bad. The clubhouse is extremely dated and not very well maintained. I doubt any upgrades have been made since it was built. Pro for me though - clubouse dogs! Looking around for some interesting and fun options we stumbled upon this B&B and decided to call to see if there were any openings. We were in luck! We quickly gave them some information and made our way down there. Upon our entry we were greeted warmly by Liberty the proprietor. She was wonderful and made check in super easy. I made myself some tea, helped myself to some gingersnap cookies, and got settled in for the night. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower had a never ending (or so it seemed) supply of hot water and there was more than enough towels. I quickly felt at easy in the room and knew I would be getting a good nights rest. Breakfast, Liberty informed us, was held at two times, 7:30 and 9am. We picked to have ours early, which I was against, but it turned out wonderful. We got to eat a nice early breakfast and then went back to bed! Check out was at 11 so we got a few more hours of relaxing in before we hit the hiking trails. Yes, a late start, but the bed was too comfortable to leave! Breakfast was delicious. Scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, and a fruit cup. They had orange juice, coffee, and tea. What a treat! The food was perfect. I could not ask for a better breakfast. This place was perfect. I would stay here again in a second. It was also so close to the attractions of Ohiopyle that it would be stupid not to suggest everyone to stay here!

5 stars for the great and fun experience with the family, but 4 stars for the cabin we stayed in…read more Cabin - we stayed in Cabin 413. It has two bedrooms and each has two bunk beds. The size of the bunk beds were great! Mattress itself wasn't terrible, but wasn't comfy either (not a big deal at all). Each bedroom has one bathroom and shower. The sink is directly across from the bunk beds but the weird thing is that there used to be towel bar holders there - so no places to hang your wash clothes, hand towels etc. The kitchen is nice and has a gas stove, but this did not come with a stove light and fan. Another thing to note is that the deadbolt to the front door had no deadbolt - there was no bolt hub or bolt extension it was honestly the bolt face plate and thumb turn. Good thing the door knob locked with no issues The water park has 4 slides, a pirate water park, 2 pools(one pool had 2 basketball hoops) and arcade. Honestly I wouldn't waste the money in the arcade, but the water park and pools were great! The pool and water park were open from 1100-1900, we got there right when it opened and managed to have 4 lounge pool chairs. Definitely get there when it opens because as it gets later in the day it fills up quick! There were people laying in the grass because all the seats and tables were taken. The food was excellent! We got 20 wings, cheesesteak, grilled cheese, BLT, fries all around $40. The remainder of the time we spent there we cooked our food in the cabin kitchen and outdoor grill. I would recommend renting a golf cart. It's just easier to get around. We took the golf cart to a tractor ride, the playground right near the gate, mini golf, the ice cream shop, and overall was fun to just drive around and explore the campground. This was honestly the perfect small close getaway before the kids went back to school. Definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be back in the future - was heartbroken to see the damage that jellystone had due to the storm.

We've stayed here countless times and feel like we've discovered a secret summer playground for our multi-generational family. The location is unbeatable, with a nature preserve literally right behind the property offering peaceful hiking with two trail heads flanking the property by a mile or so. Mornings spent wandering through the woods with birds chirping and fresh mountain air were pure magic. The area is packed with amazing attractions just a short drive away. You can't miss the Frank Lloyd Wright homes--Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, and the stunning houses at Polymath Park, all architectural masterpieces nestled in the beautiful countryside. Touring them felt like stepping into history and nature blended perfectly. Treetops at Polymath park with their private treehouses was the most memorable dining experience we've had. Out of the Fire restaurant is our family's favorite, with American fare, and a mushroom soup that is notorious, you can even grab some to go. And this rental puts you in the heart of it all. The property itself is comfortable and well-equipped, and is cozy yet expansive, space for everyone to come together or spend time in solitude. It was a joy to come home, grill out, and unwind after full days of exploration. We loved cooking up big meals and enjoying them together adjacent the fireplace. The pancake mix and local maple syrup left as a gift from Candi was such a thoughtful gesture, we made a special trip to Duck Farms, nearby, to see how they make their syrup first hand. We can't recommend this cabin enough--book your summer stay now and get ready for the best family or friends trip ever. This is Pennsylvania summer at its finest! Make the Alpine Retreat your Destination at Seven Springs…read more ....use the resort for skiing and save the $$$$. Location. You can walk to Seven Springs Mountain Resort from Alpine Retreat. Parking is easy in and easy out, I recommend in heavy winter and tough seasons to contact the host to make sure all roadways are safe if you don't have 4 wheel drive. Alpine Retreat. A home more comfortable than home. It is warm and cozy and inviting. The two fireplaces are fully stocked with wood, the fridge is stocked with all necessities and extra beverages and food (in case you lack preparation... such as I). Also everything is labeled so you don't have to search to find anything in the kitchen or throughout the house. There is firewood well stocked, with an outdoor firepit for cooking and relaxing. Underneath an outdoor deck that can host a large group, with a grill and bar, sits a six-person jacuzzi with bluetooth connection. There is ample land to enjoy lawn games and a good game of catch. Lastly, there is a basement cove with a bar that would make for a good night cap after the hot tub cover goes back on. Our Experience. Our host picked us up some craft Sam Adams beer and made us dinner. I don't want to promise that this exception is made for all the guests, but I have never been better received by a host in any hotel or inn I have ever stayed. We had a massage therapist come for a traveling massage from Body in Balance Healing Center. $100 for an hour (excluding gratuity) was so much cheaper and personalized than the overpriced spa at Seven Springs. I slept like a rock, but I did bike (not very well) quite a distance before my stay. The sheets were fresh and clean and everything was spotless in the house. We were encouraged to eat the food, use the washer/dryer and put our feet up... which we did so well. Overall. Buy the ticket, take the ride. You won't have a better host, I would lay money on that. The house is cozy and inviting and I will be heading back there at the next opportunity. Thanks again!

I have a serious love hate relationship with Hidden Valley…read more Let me start with the pros: - Smaller lowkey mountain = smaller crowds and shorter lines - A great place for a beginner to learn, my boyfriend learned how to ski at Hidden Valley. Every time we go to a bigger mountain (like Okemo) he says he would have been too intimated and overwhelmed, and would not have enjoyed learning there. - Epic pass: if you have the pass, it's super convenient Cons: - The rental process is long and chaotic. Lines can get long and disorganized. - Rental equipment is NOT GREAT. After renting equipment at some other mountains, we feel that the quality at HV is a significant downgrade - The bar (Glaciers?) is way too small to accommodate the crowd. HV is small, but the bar has maybe 10-15 tables, and they're ALWAYS packed. Unless you get lucky and show up as someone's getting up, you're out of luck. - Ice Ice, baby. I get this is part of east coast skiing, but those icy patches are not fun. All in all, this is fine if it's your local mountain, but keep your expectations low. If you're just looking to get out and hit some runs, Hidden Valley is definitely passible

A couple of differences from Seven Springs that I noticed and appreciated: the heat lamps and tent and the wider green/blue trails. I did my first blue trail run here!! I came on a Friday (1/29/21) and there weren't many people, so there wasn't a wait at the lifts. I also had a lot of space to myself on the trails! I liked the towline at the top between the North Summit and the Valley. I got in a few runs at the North Summit then took the towline to the Valley, and I thought that was pretty convenient! We spent about 5 hours here. We also ordered chili and Mac n cheese for lunch at Glaciers to Go, as grab and go items, which took under two minutes, then ate outdoors under a heating lamp. Some people chose to eat indoors at the restaurants, but personally, I'm not comfortable with that. I'm just glad there are options for everybody's comfort. I lost my phone and asked guest services if anybody had turned it in. Guest services was polite and helpful even though they didn't have my phone. They asked for a number they could reach me at if it was found. At 9pm that night, we got a text from Ski Patrol saying they had my phone! Picked it up the next morning!
