Bought a used 2019 Primetime Tracer from camping world in early March right before Covid put us all on lockdown. First the buying experience was horrible, and since the purchase we've had to replace the a/c and fix shattered drain pipes under the shower. My distrust in Camping World is extremely high. So the buying experience. We'd been looking for months and finally found the right floodplain at the right price. It was one year old but we thought a used camper from a dealer is probably a non-issue. Our salesman Matt was completely disinterested and only got our sale because that was the camper we wanted. Should have taken it as an omen and just walked out. We got there in the morning at 10am, decided to buy it by 11 and didn't leave until the doors closed that Saturday. It would have been fine if they'd have told us to just come back but they didn't. We were hanging out at the dealer all day. They kept pushing us to sign the finance papers before the final walkthrough (after they clean it up). But we refused noting it is used and wanted them to show us everything worked. Another omen that should have sent us out the door. But we waited. In the walk through they confirmed everything was in working order. We noticed the a/c not cooling very well and they assured us it just hadn't been on long enough. They said, Trust them it has been inspected and everything is good. Again we'd waited all day and thought we could trust them. Ok great. Then the guy setting up the hitch to the truck was awful. I get it, it was now the absolute end of his day and he just wanted to leave. But It is a new hitch setup from our last camper so I had some questions. But he wasn't having it. Shut me down on every question. The new setup though looked wrong to me. Although I was now frustrated too after waiting all day, so I stopped asking questions. We leave but I feel uncomfortable with the setup. Pull over at the gas station right outside Camping World to unhook and rehook up the camper. Tried to open the slide but it had no power.. What? Hooked up and went right back after they had just closed. Service manager said the battery was dead, just needed a charge. I should do it when I get home. My response was, no you charge it and give me a new battery. It took me complaining to the the general manager for them to give me a new battery. Then the real problems start. Ran the a/c a few times at home (parked on a pad in our backyard) and still we couldn't get it to cool. Thought ok this is a larger camper than our last one and it's prewired for a second a/c, lets just bite the bullet and add one. So we did. Had a mobile RV service come out and put the second a/c in. However then we noticed that second a/c could cool the whole camper all on its own. Then what's wrong with the main a/c? So had the mobile repair guy come out again to confirm the main a/c had no coolant. There was a hole in the system and it all leaked out. The only option was replacement. Complaints and calls to camping world then ensued. The camper being a year old with a second owner had no warranty. I get it , but camping world had assured us everything was working. After many emails and calls, the end result was the service manager standing his ground noting everything was working on delivery. So we bite the bullet and had the mobile RV service install a second brand new a/c out of our pocket. Mind you, this is all within two months of purchase and we haven't gone camping yet. Ok now here's the kicker! First trip after our state "re-opens" given the Covid situation. While my wife is in the shower my daughter comes running in from outside to say the whole back of the camper has running water all over the sidewalk. Ran outside to see the water running like a waterfall out the back of the camper. With some investigating we identified that the drain under the shower was shattered in three places. I'm convinced it was broken when we got it. I've since fixed this on my own and replaced all the parts. It now makes sense why someone trades in a one year old camper. Broken a/c and shower. If camping world didn't know when it was traded in, they sure didn't do the complete inspection they sold us on. I understand it's a used camper but these were easy items they should have known about. Instead we're stuck with the extra costs and no help from camping world. I would never buy from them again, take my camper there for a repairs, buy anything in their store, or stop sharing this awful experience. Buyer beware !! read more

we bought a 2020 Coleman. it had issues from the moment we got power and water to it. They have sent 3 techs out and closed out the work order. They told us they were going to replace the freezer door but they only replaced the gasket. The freezer was iced over in under 3 days. I called and Cody Miller of course wasn't available. I've left him 5 voicemails along with the Service Manager. I finally reached Cody and he said the tech was supposed to replace the door but for them to work on the unit again I'd need to pay another deductible. The food was ruined in the freezer and we couldn't use the freezer for the first 3 months we had the unit. Ice Cream gets soft and has the consistency of pudding in the freezer. Cody has called me a liar and when i replayed the recording for the finance manager, he was floored with how I was treated. They don't care because they make their sale and move along. They don't stand behind their product or workmanship. Run Away and don't make our mistakes and purchase from them. We have to buy a new fridge and stove because ours don't work and haven't since day 1!!!! read more

Getting rv inspection. Forgot to download insurance card. Customer service was very helpful getting it for me

My wife took our RV to Camping World to have auto leveling system repaired. The initial stated it needed a new switch. The quote to repair was approximately $400 for the switch. After ordering and replacing the switch, the system still didn't work. They said that it now needs a new sensor. After ordering and replacing sensor, once again the system failed to work. Now, they indicated need to replace circuit board. When asked if new circuit board would definitely fix the problem, they couldn't guarantee it. Amazingly, what was originally quoted as a $400 repair has now grown to $2,700 (Parts and Labor) and still auto leveling doesn't work. We decided enough is enough and will just stick with manual. To our surprised, in process of installing the new parts (parts apparently never needed) they damaged the manual leveling. Some how they managed to totally burned up motor. They had the nerve to tell us it would cost additionally $3,800 to replace motor and several other items they managed to destroy. Needless to say neither the auto or manual leveling works now. Our RV left the service center in worse condition than when we dropped it off. PLEASE, DON'T TAKE YOUR RV TO CAMPING WORLD! read more

Well, after our RV was at Camping World for 10 days, service finally looked at it. We brought it in for 4 issues: generator, slide outs, refrigerator and leaf springs. The only thing they fixed was the generator. Although they had diagnosed the leaf springs as an issue before they charged another $99 to diagnose the same issue. (When we complained the service manager refunded the $99). Then, they diagnosed the refrigerator issue but couldn't obtain the parts needed. For the slide outs, which we believe are covered under warranty, we needed the adjuster from the extended warranty company to review before they could replace parts and fix the slides. Well, that wouldn't happen for at least 4 days. Of course we weren't told about that and are leaving on a 3 week trip. Customer service is terrible and they charge an arm and a leg. You need to review your invoice carefully!! read more

We bought an RV in July 2022 and it's been in the shop at least 4 time. They keep it for an extended time, usually about 3 to 4 weeks to fix. I believe we bought a lemon! it's in the shop now with roof damage and they are having a hard time with them getting the manufacture to approve the work. We bought all the extra coverages and we still can't get an answer. They don't communicate with us and we have to call them weekly to get an update. DO NOT PURCHASE affirm them. read more

Gah! This place is expensive! Drive a big ol' RV, and I guess you get to pay big ol' prices. Don't get me wrong- this place is fairly amazing. When you walk in the store is divided in two, basically. To the left, find all the things you need for your RV. They've got it all- canopies, satellite dishes, sink attachments, hoses, wires, clamps, fittings - whatever! If you're in the midst of a cross country trek and your doohickey goes out on the Winnebago, this is a good place to go if you need it right now. The other half of the store is sort of recreational equipment, where you can go get a grill or a gun or a cooler. They've got everything for fun in the sun! I thought that the prices were insane. I came in looking for a low pressure propane hose. It was about four times what I was comparing with online. Ouch. All the prices seem jacked up, but then you get a discount with a Good Sam card- the AAA of RVs. It is a cool place to go to get some ideas for improvements on things. I think they'll even sell you an RV if you're needing one! They also offer financing. Parking was easy, they have a huge lot right off the freeway. read more

Unexpected high cross winds on the 10 lifted (yes it was locked) and basically shredded my brittle plastic vent cover to bits. Pending rain storm not good for my now hike in my rv roof. In the last two weeks I have tried several times to reach the firearms department. The phone rings and rings with never any answer. They don't return messages and when you do get ahold of someone, it's in person and the answer seems to be " I don't know" well maybe in caromed service, you should seek that answer. The operator, is a programmed robot tat only can make excuses as to why they may not be answering. As a local who buys firearms from this facility, and wants to only give them more business, it's hard to do so with such Poor customer service KEO, is the only reason we shop there. He's honest and outstanding with customers. He truly seems to care about people and their needs. Rusty, he seems to only want a paycheck and power. He degrades females and argues with anyone he can. Jordan needs to evaluate his firearms department and find the real leadership within. I will not be renewing my membership as I'm sure my $75 could be spent more wisely with a competitor. read more

Chase was attentive, knowledgeable and he took time without hesitation to answer questions and even asked if we wanted a tour of the store to better help our experience. You don't get customer service like this nowadays. Chase asked us the right questions to get us where we needed to be. We had an over an hr drive coming from NW San Antonio, and will definitely make the drive again. Have been trying to get a call back about our deposit for the last 4 days. Decided against getting the RV after being questioned by a finance specialist as to how/where we were getting the money to pay for our camper outright/ in full with a money order. And continuing to question why we weren't financing it. The receptionists are rude and just give us the run around "leave your name and number and we will have someone call you back". Needless to say we will now never be doing business with Camping world. And the lack of customer service and professionalism is disappointing. read more

After spending $70k with them on a new RV less than a week in it both AC's freeze up. The hit water heater doesn't work and the toilet and shower leak. Called several times to service and finally got them to send someone out. They fixed the hot water heater and that's all. Said they had to turn in the AC's to warranty. 2 weeks later no ones will call us back and they keep saying they don't have any info when we call. They were kissy kissy when we signed on the dotted line and now they could care less. This review will probably not do anything but think twice before buying from camping world!! read more

Their inventory, sales, and service are wonderful--and perhaps spoiled me. Regardless, be sure to extend our thanks, we appreciate their support. Next, New Braunfels is pretty good--their sales and inventory make the trip worth it. However, I am quite disappointed that I cannot get a response from "Frits" in the New Braunfels office regarding a recent question around consignment (Class A Thor A27). His initial reply via text was quick but then he 'fell off the earth'--no response to text or calls. This is my experience with Camping World in New Braunfels, TX. On June 6th we purchased a New 2022 Thor Magnitude RS-36. We returned our brand new RV to the Camping World for service on June 29, 2022 for several issues. Issue 1: The inverter was not working. The MRFB was not connected to the battery. Called Tech support at THOR and I fixed in 10 minutes. Inverter works perfectly now. Issue 2: Damaged hubcap. We received a "we owe" at the time of purchase which is fine. Two months later we were told it had not been ordered. I called THOR they contacted CW and the hubcap appeared. I didn't say installed...stay tuned. Issue 3: Buzzing in cab when in drive mode. Told by CW that "Error could not be duplicated". After CW having my RV for a little over a month I went in to get a status update. The buzzing was still there and still no hubcap. I called THOR tech support and warranty. Warranty said they had to send the hubcap to CW for safety reasons. I totally get that. The buzzing turned out to be a CIT Relay which is the equivalent of a fuse. THOR graciously sent to me and I installed. Issue 4: Replacement part for awning needed. This is a small piece of plastic that the roller grabs that tucks the arms in. Again, no results from CW. I call THOR and the parts are here in a week. I hand deliver them to CW. Issue 5: Awning arms need leveling. Again on the "to do" list for CW. After almost 2 months in CW's possession arms are still not level and one of the mounting plates has been pulled away from the coach after what appears to be a poor attempt to level the arms. On top of that one of the end caps was now missing which was there when we dropped it off. Again, a quick call to THOR parts arrived in a week at my door and I fixed. Issue 6: The generator was not operational. This is the big one. I was told I needed a new generator, then I was told I needed a few parts. At this point I was pretty much done. If the low hanging fruit can't be handled by CW...you're not touching my generator...sorry. All of the above things mentioned except for the hubcap I ordered and replaced/fixed after picking my RV up from CW. I dropped my RV off at CW on June 29, 2022 and decided to pick it up take matters into my own hands on August 15, 2022 after checking in on the non-progress. I wasn't pushy, rude or as this is not my nature. My philosophy is you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Full disclosure after about a month I contacted the office of Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World and assigned a case worker. I wish I could say that helped but it didn't do much but initiate a call from the "Service Manager" and basically blamed everyone else but himself. He specifically said " I hate when the manufacturer gets involved because it makes us look like "expletive". I was pretty much done at that point and replied "Well, that wasn't very difficult to do." He then said " I look forward to working with you" and then hung up. Update on the Generator: Aug 24th I drove my RV to the generator manufacturer, they removed the generator, diagnosed the issues and returned my RV in 4 hours. I was in total shock and literally wanted to hug the service rep. Parts are on order and I have total faith that I will have it faster than a hubcap. I have listed some low hanging fruit that CW should have handled after 48 DAYS of having my BRAND NEW quarter of a million dollar RV in their hands. When I picked it was parked next to a dumpster with broken pallets, trash and old mattresses. Literally nothing was done...but the hubcap. Shame.. In my opinion, this is absolutely unacceptable. These are facts. I have documentation, photographs which will substantiate my claims. You can shop for and service your RV wherever you like. Be warned. The sales department is great. But at some point you will have to deal with the warranty/service department and they are a night mare. They had our trailer for several months, my husband continued to call and would get the run around, told waiting on parts, it's being worked on, etc. Our calls stopped being returned all together at about 3 months. My husband then drives up there and walks onto the lot in the back and finds our fifth wheel and it hasn't been touched at all. Proceeds to find the service person assigned, Nicole and gets the run around again. After going back and forth and being promised that it will be worked on and speaking to her supervisor thinking it would get rolling. By now they had it for 4 months, we had specifically told them when we dropped it off we needed it to live in by June of that year because we were moving on to our property and giving up our lease. At 6 months, 2 weeks before we move out of our lease, already given notice and being told it would be done so we are hopeful it will be ready to pick up. We are moving out and my husband again calls and then is told a different story because the story changes each time you call and if you get an actual person to talk to. We spent two weeks in a hotel and picked up the trailer when it wasn't finished because we had to have something to live in at that point. The service supervisor then tells us he will make sure everything is ordered and ready for install. We had an accident claim, in addition to warranty items with the heater and other small items that were warranty that needed to be fixed, so it wasn't just one issue there were numerous. So we live in it for 5 months and then take it back to give to them for all the repairs to be done. Took another 5 months. Then when my husband picks it up it's missing a door on the furnace that they removed to fix the heater. Told they would order the part, and we could come pick it up later. We get the run around about the part for several more months and never got it at all. Just be prepared, sales department is great, but at some point no matter what you will have to have service work or warranty work done and your nightmare will start. Just know that going into it and prepare yourself. Overall, they had it for over a year and we will never buy another trailer, rv, fifth wheel from them, ever. read more
