Michael Fritz is the guy you want to avoid if you're doing any business there. Not only is he condescending jerk, he is also an a**hole. We went in today to sell our old trailer and we were under the impression that we would get a check today. Since, anytime you sell a vehicle at a dealership, you get a check same day. However he was very quick to say "I'm not going to get into it but camping world's policy is that we mail checks, YOU made that assumption." He was very rude, there was no need to speak to my father in that manner and tone. Then he kept repeating "Camping World is a public trading company". Like what does that have to do with anything we are trying to do? What really made us decide we didn't want to do any business there was when he told my dad "Look I'm not going to get into it, I've bought and sold 40-50 trailers a week". We did not ask nor do we care. Then he walks away and grumbles something under his breath about "trust" and when my dad confronts him he claims he said nothing. It's not wrong to assume you would get paid the same day you sell a trailer to anyone, besides there's no way for us to trust someone like him to honor the quote he told us today. If only he worked on his customer service skill and took the time to explain why they could only mail a check to my dad and helped ease the thought that my dad has to wait for it in the mail, then we wouldn't be having this issue. I'm sure there are other employees there that would have made this experience easier to navigate, but it just takes one inconsiderate jerk to ruin the image there. read more

I've had my motorhome in the shop over a month to get a catalytic inverter replaced. Additional issues existed so the repair work has been slow. I expressed interest in a used motorhome and it suddenly had to go to the shop and after 2 weeks it is still there! No one seems to know what it's issues are and/or how long it will be in the shop. It's also been difficult to get an offer for my motorhome. Hopefully tomorrow! read more

I'll try this for the 2nd time. Could it be my review was taken down. I purchased a 2015 Thor Motorcoach at a cost of $200,000. When we pulled out of the dealership, we were flagged down because bottom bay doors were blowing in the wind(the service dept had not bothered to lock them). The next day we left for our first road trip. Day one, the debri cover on the longest slideout broke while we were driving. Had to travel at turtle speed and find an RV Park asap. We were stranded there for 3 days until we were able to get a mobile service to come out. We tried to use Good Sam roadside service, but were told it doesn't go into effect for 48 hours after purchase of motorhome. We continued on our trip. Once arriving we again called a mobile service and they worked for 8 hours to repair and reinstall the debri cover. After $1400 out of our pocket, we tried to get Camping World to stand behind their product to NO Avail. Once you leave their showroom they no longer know you! There is a flyer in the sales packet they give you. Its from Marcus Lemonis, TV celebrity and CEO of Camping World and it says "If You're Not Happy, I'm Not Happy" and it gives you his contact information. It's false advertising. He has a staff that is completely useless and he never sees your complaint. I was told they would submit my invoices to New Braunfels, Tx, But they would not promise me anything. These dealerships are not held responsible for Bad service or anything else. Marcus Lemonis doesn't care about you, the customer. The customer service side of the service department is a horrible experience. They tell you one thing then when you ask what is going on with your RV, they say something completely different. For example, I went in with a scheduled (which they said should be diagnosed within an hour.)appointment once they opened. I asked when I arrived how long would the diagnosis take, so I would know how much time I would have to wait. After waiting 3 hours, they still have no idea if they have even looked at my RV. If you need fast, clear, or competent service, go elsewhere. This is my 3rd to use them, and all 3 times have been similar. I'm a patient person, but I will no longer be doing business with Camping World of San Antonio( in New Braunfels). I would rather drive an hour away to get a better experience and service. read more

I needed yes an inspection on my trailer. I brought it to camping world and they jumped right on it and knocked it out in about 20 minutes.

My boyfriend and I were able to buy an rv and have it ready for the next day to take home. Maggie ( Our sales woman) and Jamie (Financier) were awesome and helped us get all paperwork done quickly. We picked up next day though lady at the front didn't know we were supposed to be staged today so we had to wait awhile. Maggie and Jamie weren't there the next day which made things a bit slower because it seemed no one knew what was going on. We finally did our walk around which was great and were ready to go. The unit had a to big of a big and we asked to get it changed and the said they would check on it and get back with us so we could leave. We waited a long time and were told nothing then looking outside the bed was out. No one communicated this that it was ready, though when going out and walking into the new guy that changed it out it was ready. Overall experience wasn't to bad, picking up on a Sunday didn't help either I guess. 4 stars really for our wonderful sales lady and financier. read more

Went in to view a couple of fifth wheels we've been looking at on their website. Receptionist greeted me . Called for sales, nothing. I'm waiting... waiting... she calls someone- they are with customer. She suggests I leave my name/number and someone will call. Excuse me? I live 47 miles away. I happen to be in the area for work. I ask if I can walk around the rv lot. Yes, but everything is locked. I do anyway. As I'm walking through what is a partially remodeled sales floor I pass at least 5 individuals, most wearing the camping world logo. Hrmmmm. Not one says hi, or offers to help me find a brochure while I'm waiting. Nothing. What kind of customer service is this? I will be taking my fifth wheel budget elsewhere. My wife and I had planned a Fall RV trip, visiting family on the East Coast and out West. We planned on starting our trip in mid-October. Prior to our departure, we wanted to get our Newmar Bay Star serviced, and a few minor issues cared for, so we took our RV to the New Braunfels, TX Camping World, also called San Antonio Camping world. This was in the 2nd week of September. We were advised that Camping World was busy, so our RV would not be ready until September 30th, which was fine with us. One of the items that our RV needed was the Texas State Inspection, and I advised the Service Writer, Ian, of this, and he said he'd have the shop get this done immediately. Within 30 minutes of departing Camping World, I received a phone call from Ian, advising that the State Inspection showed that a signal light needed to be repaired, which I approved on the phone. This appeared to be good news, telling us that they were already working on our motorhome. NOT...!!! When I attempted to go online to Texas DMV to renew my vehicle registration, I learned that Camping World had not done the inspection, and had not submitted the inspection to the State. I attempted to contact Ian at Camping world, but received no response from my email or phone message. I traveled to Camping World, was told that Ian was not available, and left a message with the other Service Writer, watching her write down the message for Ian. Two days later, still no response from Ian, and it it coming up on the expiration date of my RV's registration. I finally received an email response from Ian, and he advised me that their (New Braunfels Camping World's) State Inspection computer was not working, and they could not submit the inspection results. This was not the end of the mismanaged, incompetent, dishonest Camping World experience. The reason I had taken our motorhome to Camping World was so that everything we needed/wanted accomplished would get done quickly, efficiently. None of the items were major, nothing complicated, just general maintenance, and the front electric steps needed to be replaced. The steps were a standard size, and Lippert/Kwikee had the steps in stock (I had checked prior to taking the RV to Camping World.) Everything that needed to be done, I could have done myself, but being 73 years old, I would have done the work much slower than Camping World. (At least that's what I thought at the time.) New Braunfels Camping World kept our motorhome for three months, giving us excuse after excuse as to why the work had not been completed. We had to cancel all of our Fall RV travel plans. Their labor charges were inflated, as were other charges on the final statement. I had to finally tell Camping World to get my RV ready to pick up, that I would get the rest of the work completed elsewhere. They did get my motorhome ready, they washed it, and I picked it up. I will purchase and install the new electric steps myself, since I now have plenty of time before our Spring travel plans. I can certainly install the steps quicker than Camping World. The Service Director, Bill Heinrich apologized for the abortion they call service, stating, "My apologies for the events of the last few months. We are looking for better experiences in service with recent management change." From seeing some of the other negative reviews, reviews that cover a long, long period, I'd say that the problem is management, management from the top down. This was an ugly experience to have had with such a large, well known company. My suggestion to anyone considering needing any type of service, GO ELSEWHERE, Camping World in New Braunfels is broken. read more

Camping World. I Recommend not going far to buy your RV from Camping World. I had two broken locks that weren't tested during the walk thru. They expected me to drive 4 hours round trip to get it fixed. They pushed everything on the maker. So I contacted Heartland and Jeff and I worked it out with me paying trip charge. Not happy but locks are fixed. $60 should be paid by Camping World. They didn't test them. Then another big deal was the plastic at the entry way. It said "dealer remove." Camping World didn't remove it and I didn't because I thought it would help protect the floor. Nope tore the flooring and left a 2 ft by 3 ft sticky patch. Again they blamed me for not removing. Am I the dealer? Offered $100 as Goodwill. There was no good will. I wish I knew I had to bring a RV 4 hours round trip for a warranty issue. Wasted $8000 on 4 warranties sold. Scammers. read more

Needed a part for RV toilet asap after the big Texas freeze, I expected to pay 50-100% more at Camping World but I was shocked when the part rang up at a numbing 500% over the going rate online! I was picking up several other noncritical parts that were 8$ online but Camping World wanted $29 each! Idk if they always price gouge to this extent or if they were preying on people in distress after the severe weather. Additionally, I had to travel 60 miles to get to the rip-off-center, I tried calling the store first to see if it was in stock but all I got was a recording "Call back during business hours" (it was during business hours). When I was at the store I told them about the recording and the reaction was basically "well huh, there must be something wrong." Avoid going here at all costs! Need anything for your RV this is the place. I have been here several times shopping and getting the items I needed. Returning items have never been a problem even without a receipt as they keep them on file through your Good Sam membership. I brought my coach in for a generator service, fan install, vent covers, and was Lp check. The service appointment was made very late in the day and one of the service writers said they may not finish it that day. The service manager assisted me showing me a deal that checked all the items in the coach for a discounted price. I opted for this as I had just purchased this RV used. In the walk through the manager and I added other items to be checked or fixed. They were great in keeping me informed of the progress and noting any deficiency they found. The service department closed and the manager had them finish the work on the coach. He took me out and discussed with me that one air conditioner was going out. I had smelt burnt wire smell in there earlier in the day. The location was closed at this point and I spoke with them about just leaving it and getting it replaced tomorrow. I proceeded to call for a ride and the manager said they could have it installed before my ride could arrive from Austin. They replaced the A/C and completed all the items that I wanted done to the coach. They truly go above to make the customer happy. read more

We bought an RV from Camping World-SA in March. The "appointment" we had didn't seem to mean much and it took quite a long time to actually talk to a sales person. Once we did see our salesperson, Rachel, she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and we soon reached a very good deal. When going over the vehicle before picking it up to take, the service guy was personable and thorough. After a couple of months, we brought it back for the inevitable and expected warranty repair issues, and Camping World went above and beyond dealing with the manufacturer to make sure our repairs (a couple of which needed to be done by the manufacturer) were done perfectly. I really can't sing the praises for the service department enough. read more

My refrigerator would not work on LP gas mode. I was told we needed a new cooling unit. Two weeks later, I was told they don't make those anymore that I now need a new refrigerator. This would take another two weeks. I was then told they had an upgrade to my model if I wanted to pay $1800 since my insurance wouldn't pay for that model. I asked if they had checked the LP gas nozzle feeding the fridge and was told yes. I paid the $199 fee that was not covered by insurance and took my RV. Later, with the help of a fellow RVer, we cleaned the nozzle feeding the burner and now it works fine!! lies,lies, and more lies here! read more

Have slide issues and for service to tell me what I knew cost me 285.00 a Diag fee . I let the service manager know that we're living and traveling and could wait for the repair think it could be done that day only to find out that the parts could take 3 to 4 weeks then 10 1/2 hours to repair why couldn't they tell me that before the Diag. The girl at the register was nice and helpful. The staff on the floor are a different story entirely. I asked if they had a particular accessory (motion activated lights for the stairs). The floor staff ignored me at first, when I d finally get is attention, he looked at me like I was an inconvenience for him. Then he looked away and said "probably not but you can ask the parts counter to order it." I never got to tell the ignorant gentleman that we full time travel and would not be around long enough for the order to arrive. I am sorry a customer is inconvenient for your staff. Just an update...took RV back in for a leak and awning motors out of sync/hard shifting. After waiting a month, was told that they could not find water leak and the awning was within specs, since it still goes out and comes back in. Went camping, turned hot water on in shower, nothing...valve was shut off, so I had to disassemble and turn back on. Water leak started again. Called Entegra and there are multiple other authorized warranty repair stations in the area. Don't use Camping World.
