Bought our brand new camper at the end of January where we paid upfront to have the dealership register the camper for us and we'd get the plate in the mail. Flash forward to March the dealership emails me that we owe an additional $15 to get the plates registered because apparently we didn't pay enough upfront. Keep in mind this is the middle of MARCH that they contacted me. I called and spoke with the manger because we refused to pay additional because we already paid what we were told to pay at the dealership and the $15 short was an issue on their end; the manager assured me that they would get it taken care of and how he was going to send an email to their accounting team and to not worry about the $15, that they would cover it. Flash forward AGAIN to July and still no plate. I call and try to speak with the manager but instead a desk clerk talks my ear off about registering the camper despite my being upfront about wanting to speak with a manager. Eventually he says he'll take my number and message and give it to the manager and he'd give me a call. Here it is middle of August and we still don't have our plate, we've gotten another email from the dealership about how our title could be "in suspense" because of an error on THEIR end that I've TRIED to make them take responsibility and they just plain lied and the DMV is wanting to throw penalties on us for not having it registered. To say we're upset is putting it lightly. Don't do business with them, and if you do, just go register it yourself. They're more than happy to take your money and not do with it what they said they would. read more

I left a review about 2 months ago but would like to update just a little. It's amazing just how vindictive the finance department can be. After I left my review I had a simple question about my tags, but when I called and they ask my name, immediately I get "I'm sorry there's no one in finance who can take your call at the moment would you like to have them call you back"? Well that happened 3 times and never a return call. So I called back on another phone, gave a different name, low and behold I got someone from finance immediately. This I did 2 more times right after I gave the right name with no avail. I guess I'm "black balled" due to the honesty on my previous review. It's comical actually. We still love our camper and the only thing we found wrong was I couldn't get the gas to come on at the stove or the water heater. I just took the lines apart and found a piece of trash in the line blocking the gas flow. It works fine now. They are upset because I didn't buy the warranty and advised on my review for everyone to read the fine print before purchasing the extended warranty, which isn't worth the paper it's written on. I'm sure the warranty is their "bread and butter", it cost around $4k if purchased and helps with their bottom line, but it's worthless to the consumer. Anyway, my rating lowered because I can't get service after sale or even someone to ask a question, due to their immaturity. read more

i went to this location a few times as I was shopping around. I did have my eye on one camper in particular. I decided I was going to go purchase it and on this day/weekend there just happened to be a "sale" going on. They called it a tailgate sale...or something like that. I thought to myself as I walked in "cool I might be able to get the camper a few bucks cheaper" as I was planning on negotiating alway. But to my disappointment they raised the price $2,000. It was $32,999 for weeks if not months and that day of the "sale" it was marked $34,999. Any negotiating probably would have gotten the price down to the original price of $32,999 or they probably would have just sold it to me for the $34,999 and been just fine with it. These are the kind of dirty tactics that give dealerships and salespeople a bad reputation of being complete scumbags. They have lost my business forever with no chance of getting it back. Shop with them if you want but just know you're probably getting screwed. read more

We purchased a Keystone travel trailer from Gander RV in Sherwood, AR back in November of 2020. We still do not have license plates for the trailer. We escalated this and many other issues to the store manager in December and January. The manager has said repeatedly that he would have someone contact us to verify that Gander has submitted our paperwork to the company that handles the plates for them. We have called multiple times to get this information and we still have no idea if the paperwork to obtain our license plate has even been submitted. This hasn't been resolved and we have been having to use the RV without plates. We have called and emailed many times and are frustrated by the lack of response. There seems to be zero discipline for the entire team on returning calls after they get your money. During the sales process, we were told that there would be no penalty for early payment of the loan. Their interest rate is sky high even though we have excellent credit. We knew we would want to refinance the loan because of the high rate. We found out that there is a penalty. We spoke with the store manager about this just after the purchase and he documented in e-mail and told us verbally that he would have a check sent to us for the penalty and that check has not been received yet after a few months. The sales staff requested that we wait at least 9 months to refinance since they get a kick back (their words) from the bank. We will be separately reporting this potential violation of banking laws to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Gander installed the aftermarket fold-down steps incorrectly, making the door almost impossible to close and compromising the weather seals. In addition, we are taking the RV elsewhere for roof work since there were areas where an adequate amount of caulk was not installed. We were told that Gander's sister company Camping World in Houston could complete warranty repairs, but they are not allowed to work on Keystone trailers since they don't sell them. We do not recommend this company due to lack of customer service and not standing behind the quality of their RV's. Once the sale is done, it seems that they won't communicate. We also question the quality/validity of their overall inspection with all the issues we have found to date. We are also reporting these issues to the Better Business Bureau today. We are reasonable people and understand that "things happen," but it is Gander's lack of response to these problems that is the main problem. We also have jobs and are tired of chasing these folks down including the store manager. * Response to Gander reply on Yelp: Is the information you provided for Gander corporate or the Sherwood location? I would give Camping World a zero if I could. My family purchased a brand new camper from them. Many things broke right out of the lot. The refrigerator fell over the first time we went to take it out. They apologized and said they forgot to bolt it back in when they switched it out. We had no idea they'd even switched it out as it was the same in both pictures. When it fell it shattered the front of the refrigerator, when it came down it hit the microwave, glass cover on the stove, dented the stuff and took chunks out of the cabinets. We had both axles on the camper break going down a smooth road. They had a leak they claimed was from manufacturing so they supposedly "fixed" it but it was cut too short. We ended up going back and forth with them and manufacturing for ten months and counting. The doors wouldn't seal, the toy hauler door wouldn't seal etc. Nothing but problem after problem. We couldn't get a tow, we had all the extended warranties and services and all it did was sit on their lot for ten months. They called three or four times in that ten months saying it was fixed. Three hour drive one way for us and when we'd get there the service manager would either be surprised we were there or it hadn't been fixed. The service guys were mean and when you walk in everyone stares at you. Its fairly uncomfortable. We dealt with the Little Rock location for service and had bought it at the Stanford MO location. Corporate said to us when we called that "ownership is tough". it was a brand new camper!!! read more

I stupidly continued to buy the RV against my better judgement and am paying for it now with bucketloads of regret. Once you buy from them they now have no real use for you so don't expect any service once you drive off their lot. *What prompted this particular review is that our service department didn't answered their phone for at least a week....I called 4-5 times a day for AN ENTIRE WEEK! But the buying process last summer was rough and it's been once continuous issue after another. This is the most incompetent place I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Their service department has the worst customer service that I ever had the displeasure of doing business with. They had my RV for eight months. The repair took approximately five hours. After the first five months the service department manager, Michael Collins, informed me he did NOT have the capability to do the repair. A mobile tech had to come in and do the repair. Do NOT take your RV here! Do NOT let friends, relatives, or strangers take their RVs here! They should be shut down. My 50 amp cable was missing when I picked up the RV. (Which I drove nine hours to pick up.)The electrical cable from the RV to the truck had been drugged on the ground it was shredded. On a positive note. The maintenance and receptionists are the only good thing about River city. I give them -10. Only reason I'm pushing a star is so I can post this review. This place is horrible. read more

At first buying a camper from camper world in Sherwood, AR seemed great. The sales rep, Rob was very helpful and nice. We actually paid 5,000 more for a camper from them because their 1 year bumper to bumper, lifetime roof and frame warranty sounded so good. and again they were so nice. However within a week after getting the camper home we realized that the AC unit wasn't working properly. We tried to figure it out for a few days ourselves to make sure it wasn't just something we were doing wrong. still not working correctly and the days getting hotter we decided to call the Camping world office and see if they could get someone out to check it out. Since they told us we had a one year free bumper to bumper service. After a day or two of talking to mechanics on the phone Rob finally told us he was calling a keystone rep. and getting a mechanic out. 2 weeks later. We have heard no update. So I called back to the office and they have no idea what I was talking about. They would NEVER do a bumper to bumper service and we were out of luck. So less then a month in a brand new 2024 Keystone Outback Premium our ac still isn't working properly and Camping World in Sherwood will do nothing about selling a faulty camper. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a camper from here. We were lied to and now being given the runaround. Don't be blinded by the fake kindness like we were. read more

After calling daily to get status on loan financing we were told we couldnt get approved for the price of the rv. So we switch to a lower price rv and from the very first convo we told salesman we needed rv delivered to us from arkansas to washington. So after four more days we get approved for the second one. Perfect well no so much. Salesman calls me up and says congrats on your new rv and does walk through. After that takes my card number for deposit to hold so it wont be sold under us. He calls me back after the deposit is ran and asks so when do you want to pick it up. Ummmmm excuse me we told your before we even started the financing we needed it delivered. Long story short after all the hassel, the congrats your approved to the several hard inquires for me and my wife we dont get to get the rv due to them not including delivery in the financing. I would never refer them to my worst enemy. Worst communication and customer service ive had in my life... Zero stars read more

Don't sell your RV to Gander unless you have very low expectations and a desire to be lied to over and over again. Sold our RV around the middle of June. My husband went to clean out the trailer and I had to speak to the finance guy. He said that it would take around 20 days for the check to get processed and be mailed to us. I was a bit nervous as my husband is an accountant and would likely be questioning why it would take so long. The finance guy, George, said it was because they would have to wait on the title to get back to them. That made sense and would relieve the numbers guy! Well here it is the first of August and still nothing. I finally got fed up and called for a manager, Seth. Spoke to him and he said they just received the title, even though it had been sent out 10 days before but would have our check cut today and call me around 4 so I could pick it up. Its almost 5 and no call. Not surprised as we have been told many things many times. My husband called and spoke to a woman in finance and asked her when she thought the title would be expected and her response was "what do you want me to do, drive to Tulsa and pick it up". I called and spoke to George once and when I told him that we would never do business with Gander again his response was "that's fine". I told him we have friends who were looking to sell their $50k trailer and advised them not to go to Gander and he again said "that's fine". So very tired of this company. I just want our check so we can be done with him and never have to cross their doorstep again. Don't go there. read more

Do not buy from Gander / RV .com. We bought our fifth wheel back in February of 2022. We have had nothing but trouble from then on. The service department called me and asked where the fuse box was located. They also asked what fuse that was blown. I told them that the box was in the middle bed room and that the fuse had a light indicator tell what fuse was blown. The cable that runs through the unit had to be rewired and the thermostat in the front bed room wasn't working and it took for ever to get it in . The ladder on the back of the unit had a piece missing on the bottom. They had to order the whole ladder. The first one was the wrong ladder and when the right one came in it looked like a child had installed it. The shower had been leaking from the day of purchase. They said that they have it fixed now so we shall see. I had to call corporate and open two case files to get them to do anything on the unit. Oh its not Ganders anymore its RV.com. read more

We were looking to make a cash purchase for my Elderly Mother in law. We started looking at Gander on Tuesday and The salesman Heath was great and very helpful. My husband stopped by to look at the ones he had picked for us to look at. The next day, I stopped with my Mother in Law and we were going to try to get one. My husband met us back there after work. He thought it would be too small. We were going to walk but The other salesman Jared said they got one in on trade that would be with in our price range. They wouldn't transfer our 500 deposit so we could have the night to think about it. The other salesman Jared... because Heath wasn't there came out and said they would only accept it if it was on the full amount, not the amount they would give it to us for. The way the salesman communicated it to us....It was a 2 day deal. So we were in agreement we would let her think on it over night and I would probably bring her back the next day when it had been detailed. So, we all 3 decided we would try to negotiate it. I took her in. She was okay with it. We were back dealing with Heath. I had told him We felt as though we were trying to be forced into the deal the day before. We offered an amount a lil lower than what they were going to sell it to us the day before. He came back with 2500 more than the amount from the day before. I asked if it were with the warranty. Heath said no. I said well yesterday what was said was this amount ....just for the camper. So now they are saying 2500 more. He goes back and comes back to tell us that he was sorry. The amount was counting the warranty. We all agreed to the amount with the repairs....We put 500 down and was told we could pick up at 4 today and bring a Cashier's check with remaining balance. Last night around 7ish. We received a phone call from Heath telling us that in the Manager's meeting....the General manager and the other manager Seth who left at noon yesterday said the deal was not counting the warranty so if we wanted the warranty we would have to pay 2500 more. We then told him what was said he agreed that Wade the finance mgr accepted the deal not knowing what Seth said. I went in this morning and Seth admitted to saying he would sale it for the amount told to us but it was not a 2 day deal and that the salesman meant TOday. Regardless. The deal that Wade accepted yesterday after he put it in should have been good enough. After said Seth tried to put her in a unit that was 6 years older bc he thought it was a nicer material and we said no. He said he would give us what we want in good faith. I said we just want what was agreed upon. He said very snarky well were not in agreement but u can have it. THEY (the company as a whole and us agreed the day before). He then told us it wouldn't be ready by 4 pm so by the time they do final inspection he can't guarantee it will be ready by then. It was already scheduled the day before as our pick up time.....So that shouldn't have changed. We ended up walking away, bc at that point...It was too Shady and we didn't trust them. So if u want to purchase from them....proceed with caution. I want to say again....Our salesman was great. It wasn't his fault. read more

Beware, they can't change a fuse for under 138$. I called to locate a Fleetwood dealership because our 12v was not working. I took it here because they said they were Fleetwood certified. I have to wonder, since I was told they checked all the fuses, but it was a fuse after all. They said they would have to diagnose the issue, to charge us that fee. I don't get it, why tell me they checked all the fuses (which when I called them about this they denied, but I know what they said, or I wouldn't have authorized the diagnostics). I guess they need the money, come to find out they don't pay their tech's unless they are working, so who is to say if the dealership is the one with the scam or the tech. I hate to say that, I don't know the guy, he was nice enough to point out where it was after. I'm sorry don't claim to be certified and KNOWING there are multiple fuse boxes, come back telling us they checked all the fuses, charge a diagnostic fee, to change a fuse that would take 5 minutes to fix. Have to report this one to the BBB, total racket to make money. I wouldn't trust to buy from them, or take my RV here to get it fixed, they may have to overcharge to cover their costs. And to boot, they didn't call us letting us know it was done, nor call me back after I called to check on the status. read more

Read up. I'd give zero if I could. I CAN NOT express the disappointment and dissatisfaction with my entire purchase. When we pulled our RV home, we found the black water tank was full. After returning it, no person would call us back. Everyone passed the buck. With the possible exception of one employee, I believe this business to be ran as poorly as I have seen. Do yourself a favor and go anyplace else. This business is a joke There is an alleged "satisfaction guarantee" that could not be further from the proof. Talk about going the extra mile. River City and their rental manager, Jerry Weidner, did just that for me. I was out of state and needed a camper set up at a campgrounds in Bald Knob. Everything was suppose to be ready to go at the campgrounds. When River City arrived nothing was ready. Not even a breaker box. Jerry spent all afternoon and the following morning getting the camper setup. This included an extra 100 miles of driving, but they got the mission accomplished. Best service place we've been to in over 10 years. Friendly, courteous. They went the extra mile for us. Warranty repair was quick, and the extra things we requested were done the same day. They kept us informed as to progress, and when they needed to wait til the next day to wash the camper (our request) they called us so we didn't have to wait around all day. They even washed our awning! AND check the tire pressure, aired up low tires, and even helped hook up to head home. Service manager Aric explained things so even this septuagenarian understood what was happening. Speedy, polite, all round great people. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID! This company at this location is a joke. All they care about is the fastest dollar they can put in their pocket. They will be real nice at first but then if they don't get their money quickly and have a done deal from the moment you step in that door you get pushed to the back burner and basically treated less than. This process that my family and I went through trying to get a fifth wheel has been the most difficult, stressful, ridiculously long and painful process. We were given excuse after excuse, fingers pointing at other employees, blaming others for what was happening during the process and no one taking care of the customer at the end. This process was drugged on for almost 2 weeks. Promises were given to which all were taken back and unfulfilled. We have countless conversations on document where we were told one thing and promised the Sun, the moon, and the stars though it was ALL BULLSHIT! Charles; HAHA don't get me started on that joke of a ass, is one of the sales men at the location who was extremely rude and very much a smartass when we confronted him with these issues. Just like everyone else at that shop came up with every excuse in the book. The cherry on the top is that they advertise delivery all over their website, yet if they feel you didn't spend enough money that won't come true either..... also another LIE!! See the trend here. Lol. Oh one more thing, can't believe I almost forgot, we were set up for an appointment to do a walk-through virtually of a fifth wheel. Due to them being "too busy with somebody physically in their showroom" they pushed us off and rescheduled. Again they told us they were too busy with face-to-face customers who come first though we've been waiting for almost a week. Okay fine, we are reasonable people, we rescheduled though we made time out of our work schedule to make the first appointment. Second appointment date comes, again set aside time in our work day and get this... NO ONE SHOWS!! They totally ghosted us on our appointment and blew us off. This appointment was with management to boot. We have never gotten a I'm sorry, never gotten a this is horrible customer service and I apologize, NADA! Once again they point fingers at everyone else and it's everyone else's fault. We have IN WRITING from one of THEIR employees confirmation that communication is HORRIBLE at this location and they themselves are about to QUIT!!! I could go on and on with more situations that we had to go through but if you haven't figured it out already yourself , please do not spend a penny of your hard-working money at this location. You are nothing but a dollar sign to them and if you don't meet the high number dollar sign that they want, you are pushed to the back burner and treated lower than anyone else that is paying for a higher price tag coach. There are so many other great dealerships that provide exceptional customer service and treat their customers as they should be. This place is AWFUL, their lack of communication is a JOKE and their employees are garbage!!!! I will make sure that it is my goal to make this place get as little to no business as possible with as many reviews as I can make. I would hate for any other individual or family to go through even a portion of what we did. read more

We purchased a brand new 2018 Coachman Freedom Express Travel Trailer in June of 2017 from River City Recreation World that we didn't use until May 2018. We had tire problems on the trip and found out we didn't have new tires on our new trailer. We had 5 used tires and one tire actually had a plug in it. The used tires were 3 different kinds of tires. Usually when a new vehicle is purchased all 4 tires and the spare are also new. Not so on our new travel trailer! We tried to get River City Recreation World to replace the used tires with new ones and they were not willing to do anything at all. We don't know if River City routinely removes new tires on new travel trailers and replaces them with old used ones but certainly we did not get new tires as we should have on our new travel trailer and since we didn't move the trailer from the parking space behind our garage from June 2017 to May of 2018 the tires must have been switched somewhere! The mechanic that pointed out the used tire with the plug in it was unsafe to continue to travel with. He also said the other tires weren't new either and didn't have much tread either. We contacted River City as soon as we got home to get the tire problem resolved.They do not stand by their product and refused to replace the old and damaged tires. Someone also said our one year warranty was expired but since we didn't get the new tires our RV should have come with we still should still be able to get new tires from River City. If we could give a lower review than one star we would.We will never recommend River City Recreation World as a good place to purchase and RV. read more

A terrible experience. I asked for a check of my running lights, which stopped working following damage to the left fender (part of the electrical system runs through fender, apparently). Instead, they took over a month to fix the light on the fender. I asked to be contacted before work started; that didn't happen. After several calls on my part, I was finally told that all was already fixed. When I showed up, not so. They still had to replace the fender light. Over half an hour watching them work on the camper in the parking lot, I realized they had done nothing on the running lights. Never even checked. In their defense, the fender light did need replacing (though not the fender, I did that myself). Maybe all the other wiring needing replacing too--though brake lights and turn signals worked fine before I brought it in. I just wish that they had done nothing at all, based on their conclusion that the running lights "worked just fine. It must be the truck." Lastly, you've got to appreciate them charging me an extra $12 for labor they didn't actually do before I came in. That I got to watch them complete in the hot parking as I waited. Yes, I suppose it was labor. But should you really charge someone for work the customer has to watch you complete after payment because, well, "Sorry. Missed that." Sorry for the long novel. Now for the positive: they were consistently friendly and apologetic. So there's that. read more

Our salesman was a nice young man but still had the salesman tactics. Gander is advertising a Coleman camper on their website but if you tell them you want to buy it they will tell you it is sold and sell you another. Then they will tell you that you have to make your decision quick because someone else is looking at the very camper. I was totally aware of what they were doing. I am not saying anyone was rude or disrespectful but it was all games they played. Then we get our camper and take it on its first trip. We find out our faucet is leaking. We take it up there and they tell us we have one in the shop but this is a warranty piece. We will have to order it. They did not call us to tell us it was in, we had to call them. Then they wanted to tell us it would be 3 weeks before they could install it. We explained we were going to be taking a trip that next weekend and they did work us in. Thank you for that. My whole disappointment with them is the sale tactics of the Coleman camper. Oh and guess what, the Coleman Camper is still on the lot FOR SALE!!!!! read more

WOW! Terrific Service! You walked in and people were full of smiles. I was looking for a specific RV to purchase for my husband and 3 kids. I was assigned a certain sales person, however he had to get the help of another salesperson. The friendly atmosphere is above and beyond. They truly believe in family at this location. There was no hate. We are walking away with a 2018 American Coach American Dream. I can't wait for the many family vacations and family memories to be made in this big bus. We purchased a brand NEW 2017 Pace Arrow motorhome on Oct 6th 2017 and to our surprise there has been nothing but issue after issue with this coach and we can't get anywhere with River City to get our Coach fixed. Actually since Oct 6th they have had our RV in there service dept for all but 1 week. I am at wits end at this point to get these issues fixed some of which they have claimed to fix 4 Times now and been paid through fleetwood warranty. The one trip we did manage to take we broke down with no lights and this is one of the things the had just fixed. They tell us it's ready and we go pick it up and take it camping only to find nothing has been fixed at all. We had to pay out of pocket to fix what they were already paid to fix by warranty thank goodness fleetwood did refund our money. At River City RV I traded in a 2012 Wildwood in June for a 2013 Heartland North Trail. River City was supposed to pay off the Wildwood effective immediately but it took them two months to do so. In the meantime I had to make two more payments on a trailer I didn't even own! I called River City and was assured me that I would be getting a full refund, so I wasn't too concerned about it. However when no check came I contacted their finance department and was told that ETHICALLY they felt they should send me the money, but according to the LAW they were not required to do so, so they weren't going to. We tried to like this business but their service department is the pits. On three separate occasions they made things worse. They ripped our RV roof when replacing an AC unit and did not tell us they did that. They didn't screw down our AC unit when they fixed a leak in our second RV and we traveled with an AC unit that was loose on our roof. Thank goodness it did not fly off and cause an accident! The last thing we discovered is that when they did a repair they used screws that were too long and they ran holes through our RV. read more
