After being listed on Craigslist for less than 3 hours, I called the store to find out there were closed at 5pm. Ok, next morning we arrived there by 1030am and were told the rig was sold already as of yesterday, yet everyone was acting odd and they blamed the sale on 'the new guy." The main salesman didn't even know there was a listing on CL. Funny thing is, this same rig was on their main website for $2000 more than it was on CL. We were told the camper was on the premises but sold, but could they get our names and phone number and show us other rigs? Heck no. Another salesman came up to 'assist' the floundering first guy. We asked if there were any other rigs in that price range. We were told no, not unless we wanted a pop-up. We were then told that the CL one wasn't online. It was very much a 'bait and switch' situation. My description unfortunately doesn't do it justice. 2nd Salesguy wanted to shake my boyfriend's hand, to which he declined saying that he didn't want to shake the hand of bait & switch people.' Two odd things: one was that the whole time this conversation transpired, other employees stood around shooting odd glances at each other. Second was that the minute we got back to our vehicle we looked on CL and sure enough, the ad was still there for the 'sold' rv. Will not go back!!! And seeing the negative reviews on Yelp and elsewhere, it doesn't seem like we are the only ones. Too bad too, as we are just looking to start rv-ing, after tent camping for years and they could have made a sale. My bf had cash on him. But will not go back. read more

I just had to let others know that we had the BEST experience buying from Camping World of Chicago thanks to Jon Murphy our sales rep. He made the process painless and stress free. He is a great asset to them and to us. If you go there please do ask for him. We went to look at a used unit right before closing time. He was very patient and didn't seem to mind. Worst customer service ever! We purchased our toy hauler at the January RV Show.....it's May 24 and we still haven't had possession of it. When we made the original purchase there were a few things that needed to be repaired and we wanted to order the additional screen to attach to the back. Well I guess they forgot to order it so we called and placed an order for it with their service department. My husband and I have been back and forth numerous times with service and they still don't have it ready. Always an excuse, oh they didn't send the grates, oh they only sent half of the screen, oh it's on backorder. So much for camping Memorial weekend and let's not forget the warranty is ticking down. Gee how long should we have to wait? Also not good about calling back. Wish I could give them zero stars. They have my money and I have nothing but a monthly payment on something I can't use. read more

Prior to July 2011 my wife and I purchased two travel trailers from this facility. Since then, we have noticed that customer service has declined to an alarming level. In February 2017 we thought we would try them once more with trading the last unit we bought from them in 2011 for a new 2017. Now they knew we were starting our shopping and had come to them first. The salesman Ray was a pleasant man to work with. When we were finally close to a deal, one of the managers came out and basically told us, " You should shop around because often times that works to our advantage." Apparently he wasn't concerned to work with us to close the deal. We'll it didn't work to their advantage because we struck the deal we were looking for at New Generation RV in Burlington, WI. We got what we needed on the trade and the price we needed on the new model. It was very nice to work with a Family owned Christian business. Another thing that was disappointing with CW was that you can never reach someone on the phone. You always have to leave messages and seldom do they return calls. Even midday, middle of the week. Now I know not everyone there is with a customer. Two, three hours later, still no return call. The receptionist who answers the phone seems less than eager to direct you to the right area. All in all CW has hit rock bottom. Doubt I'll ever buy there again until they change some customer service attitudes. read more

I would never recommend purchasing an RV from this dealership. My husband called them to look at a 10 Dutchmen Denali 5th wheel. Wauconda IL is 5 hours from our home. We asked if they would be able to transfer to the Camping World in WI that is only an hour and a half from our home and they said no. They were extremely pushy over the phone insisting we give them our credit card number for them to hold the rv. They kept asking for $500 to hold the unit. I told them I was uncomfortable giving them this info for a unit we have not even looked at. My husband agreed to drive the five hours to look at the unit. We told them we did not want to be pressured and wanted to look at the other units on the lot without a salesman following us around the entire time. Instead we received the constant hounding sales pitch. We left the dealership and talked about the camper on the way home and decided to purchase the unit. When we called back they tried changing the terms they agreed to. I was getting frustrated and had them e-mail me the contract a total of 5 times to assure the terms were correct. We arrived at the dealership at 8:45 AM on Saturday morning. They told us it would take approx 4 hours for them to go thru the tour of the rv, install the 5th wheel hitch and complete the paperwork. We said this would be fine. At 2PM we were concerned to see the hood of our pickup was up. We had items in the backseat of the truck that were sitting on the garage floor. We approached the salesperson (James Schaeffer) and asked why our hood was up and our stuff sitting on the floor. He said the mechanic could not figure out how to lower our spare tire so this is why the hood was up and our stuff was removed. By 4PM we were starting to get impatient because we had been there the entire day and every time we asked how soon our truck would be done the sales person said they would go check and never return. We finally seen James and he said they were short staffed but it would be done soon. 5:25 we were called to the garage area to let us know the hitch was finally installed. They demonstrated how to hook up and unhook the camper from our truck. We were finally on our way home. The next morning my husband went out to our truck to fix the seat cover in the back seat to discover the elastic that attaches the cover to the truck seat was cut by their mechanic. I waited to give my review because we had Camping World winterize our camper. Let me tell you I was less than impressed when we unwinterized our unit to use it this past weekend. They poured anti freeze in the kitchen & bathroom sinks and the toilet. The icing on the cake was there was still sewage in the black tank and water in the holding tank. We trusted them when they told us they winterized our unit. Our water pump was not working so we needed to order a new one. We needed a few things for our camper so we went to the Camping World in WI. We told the salesperson how nice it would have been to transfer the 5th wheel to this location to save time. He said they could have transferred the camper to WI for us. I was absolutely furious that we were lied to by James Schaeffer and the sales manager. If I could give a negative rating I would. I would NEVER recommend going to this dealership. read more

Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest I can give, because Yelp doesn't allow negative stars. You have been warned - do NOT buy an RV from here. I bought a brand new 2016 Thor Chauteau. If you chose to still go there, don't get used to your salesperson or service writer, they will be gone the next time you go there, which will be often. Some of my issues aren't entirely their fault, as Thor built the RV, but Camping World's responsibility is most of my issues. They have done everything from prepping the wrong camper, not putting on the paint and fabric protection I paid for, breaking things while it was in their custody to do other warranty repairs, to not actually repairing any of the items they claimed - multiple times - then stalling until I was out of the factory warranty so they could hand me a bill for repairs. I finally just had to get my RV out of there - with more items broken then when it went it just to keep their hack mechanics away from it. I tell you again - I am a very understanding and very accommodating customer - I let them hold my RV for 5 months to do the work over winter as time allowed and never rushed them. Their 5 year "bumper to bumper" don't worry about anything warranty is useless as well - DON"T BUY IT! My sales guy was nice upfront - of course he is gone, and the rest of them don't care. Try and call and ask for service, finance or anything by sales. You will get voicemail, or they will tell you they will call back and they wont. Camping World corporate doesn't care either - they just refer you back to the store. Research your dealer carefully - and search on Camping World Sucks to see all the sites and people that have been screwed far worse than me. I got my RV out of there finally - mostly running (dash taken apart, radio and cameras don't work, and won't start because the chassis battery is STILL bad). I have to try and get that stupid warranty cancelled to try and get some of my $3k back. If it were possible to give a negative star, I would. This was my first experience with camping world in Wauconda's service department. I dropped my weekend warrior off for repairs at the beginning of April and just got it back this weekend June 20. In April, they told me how slow they were and were grateful to have the business. These were things that I wanted repaired: all outside caulking stripped and redone, water damage on one of the walls in the interior bedroom repaired which meant some plywood and wall covering, microwave was not working, faucet on shower replaced, and general inspection as it had been in storage for two years. $7000 and 2.5 months later, they did 90% of the caulking on the outside. They left a 3 foot section undone because this is where the water damage was at and they claimed that they could not repair the water damage because they could not get parts from the dealer. In April, they told me that if all else failed that they would just go to home depot to get the plywood and order the wall covering. Now after two months, the blame covid-19 and the dealer for not being able to get "parts" to repair. The caulking on the outside was $4000. The other $3000 was for miscellaneous stuff that they found that I approved but still no water damage fixed which was the fundamental thing that I wanted fixed. I was told that I could go ahead and leave it for another $2800 but they could not guarantee an end date. I called the manufacturer. There is no issue with parts and they were stunned to hear that a wall could not be repaired. I had a wall have this happen to before around a window and had someone else repair it. It cost be $700 dollars and was done in 3 weeks. To top it off, they claimed that it had been washed but there was caulking all over my windows. My adaptor for my electical outlet to go from 50 to 30 amp was mising. Check over your equipment when you get it back for anything missing. I also went to hook it up and my battery was dead. I was told..." oh that happens sometimes when units have been here this long." They had five days advance notice that I was coming and I spent $7000 on repairs with them. You would think that a cleaning and a battery charge wouldn't be too much to ask. In fact, cleaning the inside is extra. At least when I take my car in for service, they vacuum it out. Nope, not with camping world. They do nothing, take forever, and charge you astronomical prices with no service when you pick it up. I have been in there so many times for the retail store. This was my first service experience and was hoping to look at buying an RV from them in the next two years. I was looking for a dependable service provider for my RV. THIS WAS NOT IT. Not only did they lose my retail business, but they lost any hopes of future service business or the potential of me buying an RV here. It you are thinking of having your unit serviced here or buying an RV and hoping to have quality routine service. Read all of the reviews. LIke I said, this was my first and it will be my last. We just purchased a new destination trailer from Camping World in Chicago. It was delivered the third week in December to our permanent campsite.We went up to spend this past weekend at the campground and found out that our shower door had shattered into a million pieces. Unfortunately Camping World won't service our unit or order the parts for us. I had to call Forest River directly. To make a long story short, their customer service stinks. I purchased a brand new camper from Camping World-Chicago. On our "walk through" where they were showing us how everything works the tech told us that this unit did not come with an in line water filter (even though the manufacturer supplied the camper with a filter cartridge and filter wrench). His exact words were, "they just throw these items in all campers". After I got the unit home the idea that they "throw them in all campers" did not sit well with me so I did some investigating.................and guess what????? I found the filter housing by the water heater. Why would they have someone showing me how to use my new camper who didn't know much about the unit???? Next, on our first trip out we discovered that the propane grill, that came with the camper, was not usable. The hose that comes out of the side of the camper was not long enough to attach to the grill. So much for a nice steak dinner on our first trip......... When I returned from my trip I sent my salesman (Jim Wheeler) an e-mail describing the problems listed above. To this day (over one month later) he has never contacted me. I guess since he has been paid his commission he does not care about me anymore. Next, I contacted Camping World (corporate) via e-mail through their website. They replied to my e-mail saying, "someone will be in contact with you within 24 hours". Again, to this day nobody has ever contacted me. Lastly, I called Camping World Chicago and spoke to the sales manager and he told me that my salesman would get back to me. Guess what????? He never did!!!! My wife and I drove 75 miles on Sunday, April 28 to very seriously look at a new motorhome. (I might add it was to be a 42' diesel pusher) Wow!! What a disaster. We walked into a remodeling project, we had no problem with that. But then we started our tour our tour of the store we overheard a couple ask about a satellite system for a motorhome. CW rep had no idea about the system but, never suggested "Let me get someone whom might assist you". No you'll have to come during the week when someone more knowledge is available. Then we went to the front of the store where the reception desk is now located. The CW rep who was behind the counter was busy talking with a customer so we stood back waiting patiently. During this time the receptionist answered the phone numerous times. After listening to his responses to the callers questions I questioned myself and my wife if we wanted to stay here. (Overheard time after time horrible customer service responses. ie I don't know anything about that. We don't have a brochures for additional information on the satellite dish. I'm to busy to get that for you. etc., etc, etc. Finally we had our turn to approach the counter. We stated what our intention was look at a motorhome. CW We only have three salesman today. US That's fine here is our name we will be sitting out front in the beautiful weather. Come and get us when someone is available. Forty five minutes later we still didn't have a salesman. We returned to the reception deskj to "I forgot all about you folks". (Oh during that time "The Sales Manager" sat in an office on the compute the entire time we were in the CW store.) We finally went back to the counter and stood listening over and over again to a CW rep driving people out the door with customer service at the level of a junk yard parts puller! I turned to my wife and said "this is NOT the place we want to buy a motorhome" and we left. WOW instead of remodeling the building CW needs to address a BIG customer service problem! It was clearly obvious excuses for not being able to do the job or know the job exceeded customer relations. read more

DO NOT BUY AN RV HERE. They will tell you anything to get your money. We bought a new rv in February of 2016. I should have known from the start when the finance guy said I could pick up the trailer the day after it was funded, but the store said I could not pick it up till a week later. As part of the deal we had a new hitch and our satellite swapped to the new trailer. We arrived at the dealership at 10:00am and did not get to move our stuff till 4:30pm. We were told we could move the items in the shop since it was awfully cold and windy outside but when it came down to it they set it in their parking lot with no power in either unit left to swap out both trailers in the dark. Thank god we had a flashlight. They also said during negotiations that they would help us with our stuff, when we got the trailer they all got into their vehicles and left us in their parking lot completely by ourselves. They quoted for swapping the satellite and when I got the bill it was double the quote. I went directly to the salesperson and he said it was higher because they had to run coax cable. This to me was utterly disappointing because the trailer is pre wired for the satellite that I have. Do not trust anything these people tell you get everything in writing. read more

Had an awesome buying experience here. But have now had it in the shop over 6 times since we purchased in May. Three trips were warrantees, the other 3 were caused by the service shop. Left our door open in the rain. Hauled the trailer around with the extension out. Real frustrating. What's worse is they have a HUGE staff, but things get done at a snails pace. We had to threaten to go to the RV show and complain before we finally got a call back. Can't decide if we got a lemon or if we are just dealing with a service department that doesn't care. Either way, service is important to me...and these guys don't have any idea what service means. read more

My initial review still stands. Jon Murphy is a good guy and I highly recommend him as a salesman. However.... it is buyer beware when buying used units. I bought used in November. I've now had it out twice. I knew it had cosmetic issues like blinds that fell and weren't rehung by the dealer, and broken latches.... Don't really think it good business that the brakes are in need of replacement. Upon inspection they are in bad shape and work horribly inconsistent. One constantly locks up once warm, even with proper adjustment. The trailer dog tracks down the road, the axles are out of parallel once measured. It is obvious they don't look at these trailers before turning them around for sale.... at least a safety inspection would be good. read more

It is very difficult to do business with a retailer that does not answer the phone. I spent more than 5 minutes just listening to the phone ring before hanging up. The couple of times I have been in, the result was just as bad. The staff is lacsidasial and not interested in serving customers. This is exactly the opposite of the Milwaukee store which is over an hour's drive from me. The only reason this place stays in business is because of Mark in service (great guy). All my other experiences have been miserable! Brand new forest river forester MBS has bolts and screws falling out everywhere also screws missing in major components. I have had water in my dome light???? I guess that's not a big deal????? Now with 680 miles the check engine light is on???? They close at 5 everyday in this season so that's super great for anyone with a job! Call backs.........hahaha yeah right! Good luck, I'm super surprised they even have phones! My salesman no longer even works for them, its a real mess! I HIGHLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE! haven't even made the first payment on the new RV and all of this. I have purchased 2 trailers from Camping World and have been treated outrageously bad this time around. I would suggest to anyone looking for a solid dealership that stands behind what they sell you that you DON'T BUY FROM CAMPING WORLD in Island Lake, IL. I spent 50,000 on a trailer that wasn't even cleaned before they delivered it not to mention all the things that were broke that probably will never get fixed. I even paid $1800.00 for protection of the exterior that I assume wasn't done either since they cant prove it was and it is hard to believe they did it but forget everything else. Les Johnson the manager said he would be happy to make the repairs if we bought the trailer in but slight problem it is a Cottage wide body trailer that can't be moved and was delivered by Camping World to Michigan where we keep it. He is aware of the fact it is in Michigan and can't be hauled by an average truck but has offered nothing to get it fixed and this has been going on for the past 8 weeks. read more

Wouldn't recommend anyone use this dealership if they need to have a consignment or need service. While this dealership had my 1 yr old Trailer it was damaged according to them it was weather related, but it looked as though someone backed into the trailer. Be prepared if there is damage they accept no responsibility and you end up paying the deductible. It sat 7 weeks awaiting repairs. Also they priced my trailer unreasonably high according to a search on the web it was the highest in 200 miles and didn't advertise the extras I was throwing it i.e. equalizer/stabilizer hitch, etc. Very limited communication, when I did hear from them the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. At the conclusion of my consignment agreement the General Manager had the service department park my trailer in back of the dealership alongside a rode with a 8-10 in drop of pavement making it very likely to damage my vehicle tires or the trailers. When I picked up my trailer it was dirty on the inside. They are not customer friendly. read more

They charged me $9.99 shipping on a $50 (plus tax) part they had in their warehouse and could have in their local facility the next day. I drove to their Wauconda facility to get a toilet part. Jack said they didn't have it in stock but could have it on their truck arriving the next day. I checked the internet price and found cheaper. I asked Jack again about the price. He confirmed $50.29 but I figured staying local was worth it. Stupidly, I gave Jack the go ahead not asking the "OUT THE DOOR" price (like the dealership their are!). It was only after arriving at the checkout, I realized the ransom. Needing the part, I paid the ransom. I won't buy from them again, but that's okay, their business model says they'll make their profit from you. Sorry! read more

Giving a one star is a high mark for the service we received. We took our travel trailer for dewinterizing and to get a quote to have some work done to it. They promised to follow up within the first week, but we never heard from them. When we called back, they didn't have any answers for us. A couple of weeks went by with no calls from the service department. After following up again, they promised to email a quote, but the email was never sent. Another follow up call from us, and the service person started talking about a quote for something that we had never requested, obviously responding without even referring to our specific camper. Finally, we got a quote, that did not detail how they came up with it. We requested details and those were never sent to us or the email was never acknowledged by anyone at Camping World. After waiting for five weeks, we decided to pick up the camper. Overall experience was very disappointing and a waste of our time. read more

they get 1 star because I did get a great price on the camper. But that's it. Everything else SUCKS. I get the run around, the GM won't return my calls or emails, The service writer blames the tech or the parts department. It is ridiculous. No one takes ownership of anything over there. It is just pass the buck. I will buy my supplies online, and if I ever get another camper, it will not be from CW. Before I even saw the camper, it was damaged by a collision. They claim it came that way. Why would they accept it? It had a cracked wheel. When they began doing the PDI, the fresh tank fell out of the camper to the pavement. They fixed it but never did anything else. When I took possession, The black tank had 2 separate leaks, the slide was missing roof material, I had them put in a fantastic fan, they installed it so the air was blowing in. I had them install a black tank flush, they put it on the wrong side of the tank, I had them install a new tank sensor kit, and they installed it wrong. I installed all 3 of those things on my last camper, without issue. These "experts" don't know how to screw in a light bulb. The grill was broken, the grill cover had a hole in it. I could go on an on, to the tune of 43 items. That's how long our punch list was. I have had an issue with the awning lights since I purchased it. They have tried to fix them 8 times now. EIGHT FREAKIN TIMES, It is not rocket science. I have installed one previous campers, 5 LED light strips. Not a single one failed. They keep making excuses, and it is really frustrating. I have an extended warranty for the camper. $50 deductible if I take it to CW, and $100 deductible if I take it elsewhere. If I have an issue, I will spend the extra $50 and take it elsewhere. I have never seen such incompetence. read more

Wow I finally found a Camping World which gets it. I live in Florida and momma found a Winnebago model she really liked. We found it but it was located in Chicago. Dennis Burgess and Jim Wheeler did an excellent job providing info and pictures so I could make an informed decision. We completed the transaction over the phone and I was going on a farewell tour with my 2000 Pace Arrow Vision. As we were 2 hours out from Chicago a glitch occurred but Jim resolved it before we arrived. Walk through was complete and the couple problems were quickly resolved by their service team. We made it through financé in a half hour and Jim even let me borrow his vehicle so I could go to the bank. It did take a while but it is to be expected if you want to resolve any issues and not rush through the process. We should have seen the red flag when our salesman said don't read the Yelp reviews. We had been working with two different salesman over two weeks and looking at a camper online. They both knew we were coming on a Monday morning and must have needed to arm wrestle for who needed to get the sale. When we got there on time the camper was not ready to view. We did the walk-through finally and went back to work on a deal. While we were doing so we did not know this but another dealer in the same office had put in offer. Between the three salesman in close proximity no one knew this was happening. We even put in an online offer a few days prior and no one followed up. We applied for financing a few days prior and no one followed up. My husband asked one of the salesman if he could put money down to hold and no one followed up. What was even more disgusting is that they let us leave feeling confused and stupid. The salesman promised to call us later that night. There was no communication for over 24 hours. What was even worse was that it showed the camper was still available online. I wrote a long letter and sent it to customer service in the corporate office period within minutes I received an email from the GM who I had already left 2 messages for and our salesman. It took three days for anyone to communicate with us and they just said sorry. we are disgusted at the lack of communication in this office. They lost our sale and our respect. it was the worst purchase I ever bought they told me to come to the show to do the final paper work after they said everything was approved . it was not !!! spent over 2 hours at the show and all they kept asking for was more money a week later I went to pick up the trailer had a 12 oclock appt. did not get in to finance until 3.30 and had to wait another hour because they said they were backed up finally when leaving the rv property they did not hook it to my trailer hitch properly and it disconnected from the vehicle bought it home and was going to use it for my first weekend away when my wife noticed some wires hanging down took it back to the dealership and they told me the fresh water tank fell off and that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get the parts baloney I could go on an on about how the hot water heater didn't work and the refriderator took 7 hours to cool down a big company like this should have better communications with the manufacturer im am also sending this to the ceo of camping world who on his website says he values the customer well we will see vince waidzulis Antioch il. read more

I am writing today to express my total frustration with Camping World and their unbelievably bad customer service. Ordering parts for my TT online and needed to express ship the item. Not able to do that with normal online ordering. Spoke to customer service and placed order by phone. Was assured that the 2nd Day air priority would arrive in time for my intended departure. Tried checking on order status several times and could not get results from the website. Finally called, and was told my order was not processed by the warehouse and the delivery would be two additional days due to the delay on an in-stock item. Complete indifference from the agent about my situation. only after my expressing my contempt for the horrible service was I offered a refund for my shipping costs...not using this service again for any cost savings. they seem friendly till you purchase something. then they do not care about you. they sold us an RV that leaks, and it was brand new. we take it back and they say they do not know if it is covered under the warranty. it is brand new, of course it is. they now have had it for 2 weeks and when we call they say they are still waiting for parts. my husband and I will never purchase anything from them again. be careful what they tell you, they do not always give you the facts. read more

Do not buy a camper with this company. Especially a used camper, whether it is a pop up or a full size RV once these people have you money they will treat you like yesterday's dirty diapers. And if you need to deal with the service department, forget about it! The dude literally told me after a week it was at the bottom of his pile and he'd get to it whenever. I have an update to this review. Shortly after I left the Chicago camping world, the generator started running rough again. I took the RV to the camping world in Rogers Minnesota. They looked at it for four hours and could not diagnose the problem. They told me to go to the Cummins dealer. I took it to the Cummins dealer and within an hour they told me that I have a bad spark plug wire. They wanted close to $1000 to fix it because they would have to take the generator out of the RV to replace it. I declined and took the RV home. I spliced the spark plug wire and it's running perfectly now. I contacted the Chicago camping world and told them that they did did not fix the problem and asked them for some sort of compensation for the $800+ that I spent on a new carburetor that I did not need. I never heard back from them. Therefore, I need to change my rating to a 1. Camping world incorrectly diagnosed the problem and charged me over $800 that I did not need to spend. Totally incompetent people. read more

Bought the rv there. Worked with Darrell. Nice guy. Felt we got a fair deal. The service department is horrible! Mark in the service department is as rude as they come. They tried to charge us $60 on an rv that had 400 miles on for a couple of items that werent working. It ended up being battery related so the warranty wouldnt cover it. Darrell got the fees reversed but it took almost 45 minutes to get the bill corrected. Then Mark came out and accused me of taking money away from his service tech and asked if when my husband goes to work if he gets paid. I have never encountered a more rude human being. This could have all been avoided if Mark initially suggested that we plug the rv in overnight or if he just did it when we brought it in. The gauges said the battery was charged but he pointed out that the gauges are not always accurate. If he knew that, he should have plugged the coach in. When you enter the service department, no one greets you. They all just keep their heads down and ignore you. Its like they are all praying someone else will help you. I have written a letter to the owner, as well as various managers at this location, along with the manufacturer, as Mark insisted that their product was inferior. I will never go to that place again if that is the caliber of employees they chooses to hire. Sad...they took something we worked very hard for and should be enjoying and threw it in the toilet over $60. Bad business! read more

Been trying since April 2017 to get my camper fixed since it was not this way when we bought it at an RV Show. First, they screwed up our paperwork and never sent it in. Then a month and 1/2 later we had to sign all new paperwork since they had to get another lender because of not sending in the original paperwork At that time the GM of Wauconda store started TEXTING me threatening texts for THEIR mistake. Then that idiot quit and I could not get a return call from anyone including an acting GM!!! Finally spoke with someone in parts (Matt Kramer) on June 2,2017 and sent him pics of all the issues that I sent the GM who quit and did nothing. He said he would take care of it. I sent numerous emails and called repeatedly with NO call back! On 10/24/17 Spoke to Matt again and he admitted to doing NOTHING and not filing the claim. Also said he would call me to let me know that it was submitted. It is now 11/3/17 and I talked to someone in parts because apparently you can not talk to anyone in the warranty department according to this guy. They never asked my name, but because of caller ID they knew who I was. This guy said that the claim is pending but them came back and said he couldn't use the computer to give me a claim # and that he saw my name on their work board! I asked how he knew it was pending if he didn't actually see ANYTHING in the computer!!! I am now seeking help from the news stations and then an attorney!!! Everyone at this store needs to be fired as they aren't fit to tie a shoe let alone help a customer!!! read more

This place is a joke. We went here on a friends recommendation to ask for his sales guys. so when we got there that is what we did, he was in the back so we waited 10 min. go by then the lady up front called him and then asked us who recommend him we told her and the sales guys said he would not meet with us! so after that it was not looking good for them. we got another salesman we told him what we where looking for he dove us a round and showed us TWO campers the rest where locked or we could not get in to cause the door would not open because they parked another camper on top of the door! so after an hour of seeing nothing he took us to his office and looked online. My husband told him if i wanted to look on line i would have stayed home. We did show him a camper they had online with a sales price. HE TOLD US IT WAS FAKE THEY ONLY DO THAT TO GET PEOPLE IN!!!! We left and bought our new 2016 camper else where. read more

We purchased a new camper in the late summer of 2012.. At first, we were very happy with CW... Within two months the door warped so we were unable to close the door. The trailer was level, just a defect in the keystone product. Our faucet blew off, and some other minor issues arose. After a fight over warranty, CW had the trailer for 10+ days (they knew the issues for months and had them documented) it took us going up there to have the problem addressed. The "tech" was useless, and tried to simply adjust the latch, and didn't understand the DOOR WAS WARPED! It has been almost a month, I have talked to several people, yet still don't have a door, or faucet!!!! I keep getting the run around from service, no one will act unless I sit and complain, yet I'm still waiting, months later. CW has real problems with following through, I think they need to drug test employees that deal with campers, and they need to honor promises that are made. They sold us on their top notch operation, yet all I've had are headaches..... I would get better results from some Craigslist hick... I have waited to write this review, in hopes that something would be done to make our situation better, but nothing has been done. I am the first to write great reviews, but this negative one needs to be shared. maybe now I will get someone to standup, apologize, and solve these issues. I want to see someone make this better ASAP! We have been more then understanding, but when you pay for a camper monthly, pay for a year-around permanent site, and you can't enjoy your purchase, I expect some "top notch" company to make it right! I'm out almost $1000.00 in payments, but couldn't enjoy our trailer. I would suggest a smaller operation, you might get better service, and quicker results. Service blames it on the keystone ordering warranty process, yet can't explain why it took us coming up and demanding a new door, to get the ball rolling. This has been a disaster so far, and our issues aren't even resolved yet. I will gladly revise this review, if someone takes control over there, and gets my trailer fixed! read more

My husband and I went there based of a friend who had got their camper there. he told us to ask for Pat so that is what we did, when we got there he was in the back so they called him told him who we were and told him who sent us. Well we apparently were not good enough for him, we were told very rudely that we was not coming up to meet us and show us some campers. We should have left right there, but another sales guy came up and showed us around Well that is not what really happened he show us two camper is our 16,000.00 budget. The to find out those campers were 4-5,000.00 over out of budget. We have a camper and we did our check up. I ask him so you are telling me you do not have a used camper in our price range on this lot. He said no, I then gave him the number from another camper place were we could get a NEW 2014 camper for 14,000.00. He then spent about 1-2 hours on the computer, my husband was getting aggravated he said if he want to look at camper on the internet he could have done that at home. I then asked why they are selling used camper no matter what year at the same price of new camper he said that they don't loss value. I then told him that our friend got his from here at the low end around 10-11,000.00 his is a 2011 which is the same year of one of the ones we were looking at he said he got it at that price cause of the year! WHAT? you just told me that they don't loose value like that. He then looked at me a told me not to try to under stand the camping price world cause I wont get it. WOW I own my contractor business and my husband is a diesel mechanic but we wont under stand pricing. The other thing the bug us was we went to a camper place and they were very very up front with there pricing it was in the camper. This place is nothing like that they go in to a room and joke around with people behind the desk and come out with an inflated price and wont show you how they got to this price. I then told him that we did go online an looked this place up and found campers used in our price range on this site HE THEN TOLD US THEY ARE NOT REAL PRICES it is a way to get people in.
