That said, unless you're coming from the east, you should really be using this station. I value the Crystal Lake station for several reasons: * Ample parking spaces, whether adjacent or right across Main Street * Convenient automated payment options: cash, credit, or commuter card * It has an agent who can answer all your questions and sell you the ticket you actually need (plus you pay less if you buy from the agent) * It's close to the end of the line, which means more seat availability inbound to Chicago * It has several convenient scheduling options to and from Chicago * And lastly, there are two coffee shops within 50 feet of the station: Trax, which is in the station itself, and Grounds Coffee Bar, which is immediately north of the station One other note is that the conductors who run these lines have been really friendly, and I have really been on every train in the morning from the 606-636, and outbound from 625-663. If you've been a loyal Pingree user, or if you're thinking about commuting, you should definitely try the Crystal Lake station!

There is a good amount of bicycle parking- including provision for covered/secure parking. You must bring your own lock for both the bicycle and security "shell". Large and well lit parking area is $1.50 per day fees payable by vending machine. There is also a vending machine for monthly parking passes. There is an underpass to the inbound train platform and station. There is no access to the inbound platform from the outbound platform so you must use the underpass. Both platforms have stair as well as ramp access. The outbound station has an enclosed waiting area open during the morning rush and a small enclosed waiting area open 24 hours during the winter months. There's a "bus stop" style glass shrouded bench, but it's on the outbound side (the side headed towards Harvard, not Chicago). They could at least get one of those in the more used side--the one going to Chicago. An overhead heat lamp like they have in Chicago bus stops would be nice.

After the show, we decided to leave my car there to go to different bars. Driving after that was not a good idea. So I asked the valet if I could leave my car overnight. They very kindly moved it so it would be safe in the Niko's parking lot. Unfortunately, the driver's side back window was left open & it poured!! Anthony was very gracious offering to dry & clean it. He didn't have to do that! Luckily it dried with fans. I would absolutely recommend A Valet for any events you're planning. All the valets were very polite. I witnessed them dealing with some crabby people that were mad at Mother Nature & taking it out on people parking their cars for free! They all deserve kudos and a big tip!
