We kicked things off with their fresh, in-house Gouda cheese that was literally made that day-YUMMO!!! Then came the shrimp.... I'll be honest, they didn't look like much at first, but one bite in and I was sold. Perfectly grilled, simple, and that pimento sauce was absolutely bomb. For the main event, we "split" the paella for one... which turned out to be a feast. We powered through and finished every last piece of rice because it was sooooo good. And dessert? Passionfruit mousse. I don't even like passion fruit, but this was hands-down the best mousse I've ever had in my life. The restaurant itself has a quirky, endearing vibe, kind of like walking into a summer party at your grandma's house, complete with fun, kitschy touches. It somehow transports you to old-school southern Spain but maybe that's just me. Jury's still out on the house wine, but with food this good, I'd come back in a heartbeat. Awesome! We ordered Paella for two it was delicious and there was plenty. The Flan that we shared for dessert was the best I've ever had. Our waiter kept our bread basket full and suggested the perfect wine to go with our meal. This restaurant has a unique atmosphere. As you approach there are several patrons seated outside enjoying a beverage and sharing conversation. Directly inside is a popular cosy bar then further inside is a welcoming very nice restaurant. My wife and I came in on Veterans Day mid afternoon and were seated immediately. Dining room was clean and neat and so were the rest rooms. Waitress was friendly and professional. We ordered little necks and chourico for appetizers. Pork meat with little necks and grilled octopus for the main course. Took a while for the food to come and you could tell that the reason for this was because the food was cooked fresh. Everything we ordered was served hot and was very good. We never had an empty bread basket. We left satisfied with the food and the service. I would not hesitate to return and I would recommend Campinos to anyone looking for a casual Portuguese Food dinning experience with reasonable prices. Went into this place recently, FIRST TIME EVER stepping foot into this bad energy, unprofessional environment, Not sure if they ever gotten used seeing a person OF COLOR walk up in the restaurant, staring as if Batman just came in. I went to pick up an order last FRIDAY, called in & gave it about 30 min before going to pick up the order they messed up on on top of making me wait at the door for basically 10 minutes & seeing me there but disregarding me complete service walking by & ignoring me. 2 people at that, A short man waiter with black hair & a lady who had front bangs & a pony tail. (Disgusting to even treat people like that going to your work place for food), This lady seesnme STILL STANDING THERE WAITING, comes by me rudely says "excuse me"to set down someones order & does not ask me if I'm all set or if I need anything so I rudely waved my hand saying "Hello um do you NOT see me here?" Then decides to attend to me, (Mind you I've been waiting 20 min total now & no order) . Whoever this lady is goes to the back then comes out & just stays quiet disregarding still..... I'm getting pissed at this point after seeing more people walk in AFTER ME! Yet this individual has had to be a LIGHT skinned complexion in order to be welcomed with respect & asked what they needed, again (Disgusting) it was the same waiterwho helped these people after walking back & forth also STARING at me! & didn't help. This horrible mistreatment is what I got from the moment I walked in then to leaving without no food nothing after I had to ask 4 TIMES! This place is horrific. I have been twice, the first time last year and most recently about 2 months ago. The calamari comes with a "seafood sauce" that is tasteless, no peppers, no nothing. Then.. I ordered the Pork and Potatoes, they charge you $16 for the meal but then decrease the size of the plates! They do not even cook it in a wine sauce, the sauce is more of a beef stock/ beef gravy packet, not even a hint of wine in it. I was so upset at the fact that they increase the price but then decrease the plate! It wasn't bad per se, it just wasn't anything special. I went here with my wife's side of the family as a relative from Portugal was visiting so they wanted to take him to a Portuguese restaurant. None of us had been here before so we didn't know what to expect; I had the pork and littlenecks and while it was a decent dish, they were swimming in a brown gravy sauce that seemed out of place (it's never served this way at other Portuguese restaurants I go to). They also served bread and butter with no plate so we had to put the rolls on the tablecloth...odd. My wife's grandmother didn't seem to be enjoying her chicken dish and she kept on trying to say that she just wasn't used to eating big meals late at night, but after I pressed her a couple of times she finally admitted that the chicken was dry (it certainly looked dry). There were a bunch of people playing cards and drinking beer outside when we were leaving...that looked like fun. Unfortunately though, this isn't a place I will go back to in the future as there are many better Portuguese food options in East Providence. read more

At the end of your meal be sure to order a unique Portuguese dessert with your esspresso. I have been here many times, a few because of family functions but mostly because We love the food at this restaurant. The food is really flavourful. I typically get a steak sandwich or a pork sandwich. Both are served with Portuguese fries and taste delicious. Another fave is the Picu Pao which is a trio of pork, chicken and steak in a lovely sauce served with fries. This is a place that my Portuguese family really likes too, the octopus is a favourite. The staff are really nice and the place is reviving itself to be even better. It's also a place to see friendly faces and have nice conversation. In short it's a really great place. Just... Wow! This place is fantastic. The decor is simple, but sweet and very clean. The service is warm and friendly and attentive; like you're family. And then there's the food; Oh My God, the food! We ordered paella for two. It was honestly the best paella I've ever had, and there was easily enough for four people (I'm a big eater, so that's no exaggeration). We had the flan for dessert. Again, excellent! I didn't know what to expect from a Portuguese restaurant in Providence. Usually I don't leave home, nevermind Fall River for good Port grub. This place was worth the trip! Port soup A+, shrimp and little necks combo appetizer A+, JUMBO spicy shrimp entree A+, rack of ribs A+ Port steak... A little let down with the lack of sauce and flavor... C. My take? If I could give this place zero stars I would. Made reservations for 8 people for 5:00. We were seated right away but that was about the only good thing that happened during this entire experience here. It took almost 20 minutes to even get a menu or even bread which we had to ask for. They had a set menu for the day which after waiting another 25 minutes to order we were told that almost everything we ordered they had run out of. I asked if this was they only menu they were serving and was told yes that's it. So we all had to settle for whatever was left. After waiting another 30 minutes for our meal which arrived in spurts. 5 out of the 8 meals that were ordered were wrong and cold. Another group of people arrived after us and took awhile to be acknowledged. After warning then about our experience so far they were about ready to leave until another waitress came over and offered them the full restaurant menu. Needless to say it wasn't our waiters fault but after complaining to him about all of our issues we weren't given any kind of resolution , apology or even a manager or cook to come over and talk to us. Never again. Don't waste you time. You'd be better off eating ramen noodles at home. To add to this... it is now 7:30 and we are still waiting just to pay for our awful meals so we can leave. read more

I was traveling across the US and stopped in Rhode Island for a few hours. Found this restaurant while searching for an authentic Portuguese restaurant. I was greeted in the parking lot by a local that eats at this restaurant often. Which is already a great sign. He told me that I was at the right place. He was so friendly and I felt great about my choice already. I had the grilled octopus with Portuguese potatoes and rice. My husband had the shrimp mozambique. The food and service was amazing!!!
