In terms of food, we were four people and we shared four starters (yellow-fin ceviche, kampacho and blue fin sashimi (which they call laminadas), and a shrimp "envelope"--each one was remarkable, and served with flavorful sauces that complimented the dish. Our mains were also good, though not as spectacular--they offer Catch of the Day (mahi mahi today) prepared in three different styles. The plain one (pan seared with shallot butter) was nothing special, but the option served over spinach with a cream sauce was incredible. And despite how delicious everything was, it was all fairly simple and traditional, without much wow factor to account for the higher prices. I took one bite and as it came close to my mouth, I got a faint whiff of something off and should have stopped there but being the food trooper that I am, I took that bite. It was pure nasty rotten fish. I asked my husband to confirm that I wasn't just being a wimp so he smelled it as well and said nope, don't eat it. They took it back and I had the grilled shrimp ( which wasn't exactly on the menu since their version was heavily covered in some type of cream sauce but when they originally brought it to my husband way before our appetizer, he asked to leave the sauce off ). The only saving grace was the family next to us that brought their pet goose for an evening stroll. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a tranquil pond, with walls draped in lush greenery. It's absolutely gorgeous. The service is outstanding. It's the kind of place that's perfect for a casual lunch, a special birthday celebration, or anything in between. They somehow make every meal feel like an occasion. We started with the tomato salad. Our server suggested we eat it with a spoon right from the bowl so we wouldn't miss a drop of the incredible dressing. Wow. It was one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had.
