Great store. I only picked them to buy my 1200.00 road bike from because as soon as I walked in the door they asked if I needed help. In one week I went to 5 different bike shops and decided I would buy my bike from the first place that offer good customer service. So, Ned was awesome, took time to show me bikes, did a test ride, the bought one so painless it was too easy. He didn't pressure me into buying tons of accessories. I came in for those later lol. I shopped around and Campus Cycles had the same prices as other bike shops in Denver but their staff is FAR more accessible that other shops I went to. After 3 weekends of looking for the perfect bike and dealing with other bike shops that were not that customer friendly - I found Campus Cycles. Michael first listened to what my needs, likes and dislikes were and then put me on the perfect bike. All the staff were friendly even though it was crazy busy and they were short staffed due to events. Other "well known" shops never gave the personal service Campus Cycles did. Had a great first time experience at Campus Cycles. The seat of my bike had become floppy and disconnected from the pipe it sits on - I knew I couldn't fix it, so I looked them up and went in. I was helped immediately and a nice gentleman re-attached everything correctly and leveled it out for $5. I appreciated the promptness and professionalism of the employees, and the man I was working with definitely knew what he was doing. I am not a big cyclist and just successfully completed at 200 mile ride in CA! Bought a used bike for granddaughter for CSU transportation. Called Matt and he told me that to do a basic tune up it would be $75 and he could service the bike by Tuesday (today is Friday). I needed it Wednesday. I took it in, met with Matt and on the spot he looked at the bike, made some adjustments and told me that there was no need for a basic tune as the bike was in great condition. How many service people do that today! No charge except for a minor brake adjustment for a fraction of the $75. Great fast courteous service. I will use them anytime I need bicycle service. read more

I took 2 bikes into Campus Cycles today. One needed repair and the other had 2 completely flat tires (I thought I would need new tires they were so bad) They fixed the first bike on the spot when I thought I would have to leave it there and the second one they were able to blow them up and fix both tires. They didn't charge me for the second bike and helped us load it in the car. Top notch speedy service, I HIGHLY recommend them!!! read more

We took our toddler here to try out Strider bikes (a type of balance bike). They had a huge selection including a refurb that was the same price that used Striders are going for on Craigslist. The staff were all so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Even though my toddler didn't end up cooperating and we left empty handed, the staff were not pushy and, in fact, encouraged us to go home and think it over. I loved this place. They really earned our trust, and we will definitely go here when we are ready to give Striders a try again. (As an added bonus, they're open 7 days a week) read more

Left this place crying. After bringing in two bikes to be serviced with new tubes and one new tires and paid $97. I was ignored repeatedly. Left standing there waiting for someone to help me. As I checked out I asked to buy a new helmet and was told "now is not a good time". I took my receipt and went to get my bikes and one had a back break that was way too tight. The tire wouldn't spin. Someone turned around and said "left those how they were" which wouldn't make sense for two reasons. 1. The wheel spun when I dropped it off, 2. Didn't I just pay you to "service" my bike? Does that include checking breaks? I was ignored again while he turned his back to me standing there holding up two bikes trying to figure out how to move the one with no back tire. I finally had to ask for help from someone who came out. I was an all state road biker for CO in high school. I'm not a bike expert but I'm not an idiot. Don't go here unless you want to leave crying. read more

This is not a good store. I brought my $4,000 Trek in for a seasonal tune up and it has never worked correctly since. I have brought it back three times to get a very simple shifting issue resolved (an issue that was created by the tuneup!) and it has never been fixed right. The mechanics are either not trained well or just don't care. Their selection of bikes is broad (cruisers, commuters, road bikes) but if you want something nice (more than a couple grand) they will not have anything in stock that resembles what you want. Take your high end business elsewhere. read more

This is exactly what a local bike shop should be. Great selection of brands and items. Sales crew are helpful but not pushy. Everyone in the shop knows what they are doing. The only thing that has annoyed me is sometimes things aren't labeled with prices or labeled incorrectly. Sometimes stickers fall off and sometimes things get stuck on the wrong shelf. read more

Came in here to replace a bike that got stolen. I went to almost every bike shop in Denver and after being snobbed at in most of them I was expecting the same from here. Not the case I was greeted right away and after telling them what I wanted and how much I was looking to spend I was shown I few bikes but it was love at first sight with the first one he showed me. they were nice, brought a bike i was gifted in and asked for them to "get it in riding condition" and fix whatever as i'm not a biker. picked it up after 2 days (they replaced tubes) and when we went to ride realized the handlebar alignment was off about 45 degrees. also the front brake was completely pressed on the front tire so you couldn't ride. my bud works for Trek so she was able to fix it and will be my go-to going forward. make sure you know what you're asking for ! didn't know i needed to read more

This place is pretty impressive. I stopped by shopping for a new commuter bike, and the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. No talking down to me ... not like some bike shop staff who know they're better riders than their customers, and they don't hesitate to remind you of that! :( I didn't find the bike i was looking for yet (in part because i still don't know what i want). But i was impressed enough that, when i got a rear-wheel flat (yuk!) on my current commuter bike, i didn't hesitate to take it there. I'm not above paying others to change my tire!! :) The mechanic was terrific, found a few other problems, and turned it around in a day. I must say, this is the best bike tune-up i've ever gotten ... it shifts as smooth as butter! And, the staff were happy to have my pups in the store so they didn't have to wait outside in the freezing cold when i dropped off my bike. I like how they think ... read more

Not kid friendly. We have been loyal customers since moving to this part of town for more than 3 years, buying more than 4 bikes there and all accessories. We went to buy new helmets for my wife and myself, as well as a new pair of clip-in bike shoes, and some kids bike accessories today (obviously not a small purchase). As we were trying on shoes/helmets, our kids were playing with the strider bikes and checking out the pumps within our view. We were spoken to rudely because we were not holding our children close to us. While I get the potential risk, I have never been spoken to so rudely - especially while trying to buy things! If you have children, you would be better served at one of the other bike shops in town where they welcome repeat customers and business. read more

I am new to cycling, and have just taken it up to start getting in to triathlons. A friend of mine gave me a very nice (though old) Trek 2100 to get started, and I took it to Performance Bikes to get fitted and to fix it up a bit (new stem, new tubes and tires, etc.). After a horrifying experience at Performance I took the bike to Campus Cycles and I am now officially a lifetime customer. The staff was understanding and in NO way condescending when speaking with me, despite that I am newbie. I originally came in to purchase (and learn how to use) clipless pedals for the first time, and inherently to get some cleats. The staff not only helped me find the perfect fit, he explained things to me so that I understood what to look for in the future (especially with respect to my triathlon training as I progress). They put the pedals on right away and then even did a basic fitting because Performance had made the fit worse rather than better. By the time I left I had new pedals on my bike, new shoes that fit and work great, and most importantly the next time I rode my bike it felt like a whole new machine because the bike was actually fit to me! He even gave me some very helpful tips on my positioning and technique. If you are new to riding and are intimidated or embarrassed to ask questions and to learn, then I absolutely recommend Campus Cycles; they seem truly excited to welcome newbies to the sport, and are understanding of financial constraints as well. 5 stars all the way. read more

I bought a low end Trek Marlin for commuting and Campus Cycles has stuck by their product. The back brake went out after a month and a half and they replaced it at not cost. The chain and cassette went out and they again replaced it at no cost. These parts going out are "no" reflection of Campus Cycles instead it is most likely the bike being lower end in the Trek line. I only wish they had location closer to down town so I could stop in for maintenance a bit more often. The staff is real nice and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. My tip: When buying a bike for commuting you don't want to get something too nice (so that it might get stolen) but don't go so cheap you have to keep replacing components. I'd say for disc brakes make sure it has a minimum of BB5 brakes. The back brake was replaced with this and it works great and doesn't make the loud screeching squeal sound the original Marlin issued brakes make. read more

I purchased a bike here early in the summer, after searching around town for weeks. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and made for a great experience. I thought the prices were excellent too - quite a bit lower than the manufacturer's published MSRP. Our toddler had such a good time that we actually bought him a bike too, and the staff really went out of their way to make sure it fit him. read more
