Friendly, professional, smart and charismatic, we are taking about a top talent in a tough industry. The Inm is beautiful, well appointed and located in a prime location. Park your car and walk everywhere, including Tanglewood if you are so inclined (30 minutes each way). The standard rooms are TINY, but the grounds, lobby, fire pit and front porch give you no reason to be in iyour room other than sleep or shower. Speaking of which, you will laugh out loud when you see how small the bathrooms are in the regular rooms. The bathroom photos on their website are not the bathroom you will get in a standard king. You will get a phone booth with water. CONS Breakfast is a moon launch, get this poor girl some help. Put out a self serve pot of coffee with to go cups for early risers and leave it out all morning. She will love this idea, trust me. Eggs and toast were ice cold when they finally arrived, so we skipped breakfast the next morning as she was buried yet again. The bar was completely overwhelmed both nights with a large wedding and made it near impossible for anyone else to get a drink. We are talking 20 minutes due to the complexity of their cocktail program. Like everyone else, he was very hospitable, but cannot handle the bar stools, plus all of the dining room and outside cocktails on his own. Get him some help. The Inn would also benefit from an ice water station, especially on these scorching hot days. Your bartender and servers will also thank you. Lastly and the real reason for dropping a star is that we were checked into a dirty room at 3:30pm. At 600.00 per night, this is a fatal flaw and should have never happened. Never.

The fact that you can access this rest stop from both directions also makes it a convenient meeting point on the road. (That's been handy more than once.) So overall, a very good option for a stop in the Albany area.

The rooms are all different and have their own quaint feel about them. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and on late nights, the innkeeper set our group up with wine so we could wind down. The grounds are also pretty, and it was nice to enjoy some time outside. The inn does not have an elevator (obviously, it's a restored old home!), but as long as you do not have mobility issues, this is a fantastic place to stay during your visit to the Berkshires (the location can't be beat if you're going to Tanglewood and the like!).

The Kemble Inn has been one of the most enjoyable overnight stays I've ever had the pleasure of attending. The rooms are gorgeous, the hotel smart and elegant but most important the staff was beyond helpful & friendly. The bathtub is to die for and the amenities are outstanding. I think one can see I really enjoyed my stay. It's worth every penny. Also, the restaurant in the them building is exemplary. Seriously, if you want a fabulous night away from the town (I'm from the Boston area) take the time to come out and enjoy. Staff were friendly and welcoming when I checked in. I was offered assistance with my luggage (my room was on the 3rd floor), but I chose to take my bags myself. The dining area is open to guests throughout their stay, with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, water, and snacks gratis. The common room had lots of seating. Other guests were using it while I read and everyone was respectful and kind. My room was a wonderful surprise. Room 303 is in the front corner in the top floor and is spacious. The room is outfitted with antique furniture, which is a really nice touch. My bed was comfortable and there was even a sound machine for sleeping, just like the one I have at home. In the morning, my shower was delightful, with plenty of hot water and great water pressure. The continental breakfast (included) was available 7-9am. There were boxes of cereal, granola, yogurt, bagels, croissants, hard boiled eggs, and fresh fruit. In addition to coffee and tea, there were also orange and cranberry juices. Everything was so seamless and easy. I loved it!
