This resort was very nice and comfortable. I love the heat in the room and how clean it was. We were not able to use any of the amnesties due to Covid. I like that there is a Stop & Shop across the street and some local stores not far. Skiing is right down the road. Our favorite restaurant was Salmon on the Run.

2018 PITTSFIELD, MA My daughter-in-law works in this area. When she was in her ninth month of pregnancy, my mother-in-law and I drove her to all her work locations up-state. We used this timeshare as our home base for the week. It was a last minute reservation for about $200 for the week. RCI offers these last-call vacations to members. The resort was perfect. They offer coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby. We really too advantage of that since we were there during a snow storm. They also had great activities that we took advantage of. It was the week before Thanksgiving and one craft was a turkey made out of a bottle, buttons and feathers. It was our centerpiece that week later! We also made sand sculptures in bottles. It was a good activity for my mother-in-law who has Altzhermers. It kept her busy. They also had movie nights. Actually there was an area where you can watch a movie of your choice anytime. The actual units are very nice. All week, we cooked with no problem. The kitchen had everything we needed. Washers and dryers were down the hall, not in the unit. That was ok because there were lots of machines and you can do all of your laundry at once. The grocery store is walking distance. That is convenient if you don't have a car. We used the outdoor jacuzzi while it was snowing out. That was a lot of fun...The indoor pool was also nice. I appreciated it since I swim laps for an hour everyday. I forgot to mention that if you pay $100 for the week, they have 2 units reserved for pets. I was elated that we were able to bring our dog Grady. He is a Florida dog and only has seen snow twice in his life. He loved it! Thanks to management for allowing us to bring him! We definitely will return to this resort. I would have rated it a five, but didn't because they only have 1 BR units. My daughter-in-law gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on the way back home that week. It won't be long before we will be needing 2 bedrooms! The staff was very accommodating....especially those who helped with the crafts.

Recently renovated with fresh paint, new carpet and flooring, and coverings makes this resort feel new. Pool and outdoors hot tub are a comfortable temperature and adequately sized (and with a depth of 3-4 feet the little ones can enjoy the entire pool). Parking is convenient and they keep the spots and sidewalks clear of ice and snow. The resort activities are minimal throughout the week but the directors are enthusiastic and pleasant. Exercise room has 4 cardio machines and small tv. Rec room has a couple video games and claw prize machines. Structurally the building amplifies sounds in the hallway and stairwells to a ridiculous level. If there are kids around, it sounds like rolling stampede thunder. A whisper sounds like it comes from a bullhorn. They have dog friendly rooms and dog walk area with a waste station. Conveniently located and an easy drive to area attractions. Front desk has a good stock of courtesy items for the bathroom or kitchen. There is also a grocery store across the street to fill your pantry needs.

We knew we needed a place for 150 people and we knew we wanted it to be drivable for both family and friends in upstate New York and Boston.   We stumbled upon The Lake House Guest Cottages of the Berkshires after months of searching, but the only wedding we had seen hosted there was inside the main cottage. Reluctantly, we decided it was probably too small for us.   Fast forward another month.  Randomly one night, my wife and I both separately pulled up the venue again and I said, "We need to just call them. Maybe they have some grass we can put a tent on." After a couple of email exchanges, Eric, the owner, and Cory, the grounds keeper, invited us out to see the space and were instantly sold. The beautiful grounds, the stunning cottages (or as we like to call them, "mini mansions"), THE VIEW.   Not only did they have four cottages on site where guests could stay, but they also had a field where they had placed a tent for previous weddings that could hold up to 150 guests. We soon found out that over the winter months they would be adding three additional cottages for guests to stay and a seasonal tent to be used for weddings throughout the summer and fall. Needless to say, we booked it.   A couple months into planning, LHGC added a wedding coordinator to their awesome team.  We connected with Kelsey instantly, discussing plans we had made and things we had coming down the line. She was always available if we had a question or concern. Come time to do our walk through before the wedding, we laid out the entire day with the help of Kelsey and our caterer.  We walked away knowing we had the dream team on board.   When our weekend approached, all the new additions were complete and the space was more beautiful than ever. We had our rehearsal brunch Friday morning and welcome party Friday night, both of which allowed for the caterers to take full advantage of the catering kitchen in the main cottage. Kelsey and Cory were completely accommodating and there from start to finish to help with anything we needed.   Our guests arrived sporadically from Friday morning through the evening and spent time playing lawn games, kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake, and enjoying each other's company.  It was so nice to have the entire grounds at our disposal.   On our wedding day, it was just the same. Everything went off seamlessly. Kelsey and Cory were both there if something came up, made sure that set up was perfect, ran the ceremony and reception smoothly and effortlessly.   Our wedding was perfect. It was everything we could have dreamed it to be and more.   Thank you, LHGC, for welcoming us to the family!  We look forward to spending many anniversaries with you on Pontoosuc Lake!

The building is really beautiful and at any other time we would have made use of the beautiful common spaces indoors and not just enjoyed our room and the grounds. The room was impeccably cleaned and staff were attentive to needs that came up during the visit. The absolute stand out was our room service meal set in front of the wood-burning fireplace in our room. They came up with a table, offered us options for chairs, had all of the food wrapped in plastic and covered in warming lids, but done in a way that did not interfere with even the delicate plating details. The portions were substantial and food quality was outstanding. They even provided gluten-free options that went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy. I wish I could give 4.5 because there were some minor areas for improvement, but I will round up given COVID was likely a contributing factor.

The staff is obnoxious rude & pretentious. We arrived with are 2 Small Shitizs just as we had before. The hotel was aware we were bringing 2 service dogs.. First night they would not allow us in the dining room with dogs but they had no room for us to dine outside! They wanted us to sit alone in a room by ourselves & have dinner ! I objected. We finally agreed we would have dinner in the bar alone . At least it was part of the dining area. To get to the pool area you need to drive your car. They didn't like where my husband parked our car. No biggie. I think the Pool Boy could have handled it. All he had to do is ask us to move it. Next thing we know the manger of the Hotel comes to the pool standing over us suit & all. After announcing his titled he ordered my husband to move the car. It was definitely a reprimand for his bad behavior. Of course he moved the car. When we returned to our room there was a hand written note offering to serve us dinner in our room that evening. I called the desk to ask about this & was told this was a new thing they were offering ! We ate dinner in town that evening.. I could go on & on with our crimes & misdemeanors. I spoke to this TIGHT A.S JERK when we were checking out . I asked if the General Manger was available. He has a total passive aggressive personality. I expressed my disappointment about the weekend. He went through the list list & more of the above. Wait a minute , aren't I the quest. Isn't this his job ? Doesn't it come with the territory! If he was so disapproving of us he could have asked us to checkout. He didn't do that though. He wanted our $3900. He may not have like us but he liked our money.

It was not perfect, but 4 of us stayed comfortably and we easily could have hosted 4 others although maybe less comfortably. Check-in and service we received were great. We called twice before coming, one call was better (a middle aged male I think) and one was less than optimistic (younger female) but the person did seem to warn us that they would try to get is to our unit by the 4pm check in time. Honestly, I don't fault someone setting expectations correctly so I didn't hold this against them-I prefer truth and by being a little concerned maybe that made me pleasantly surprised when they were prepared to let us in before 4pm (but we did arrive later than we would have had the lady not warned us). Also noteworthy - every conversation we had with guest services were very pleasant and there was ALWAYS someone or multiple people at the desk. This was in early to mid May just to give you context. The unit itself was well appointed if a little tired in some places (couch was a bit dated as were some of the dinning room chairs) but the kitch and baths seemed good, save low water pressure and hot water taking a bit to come up as someone else mentioned. Heating unit was good, never tried the A/C. All the locks, cable/TV, stoves, etc. worked flawlessly (minus a crack in a carafe that must have been there prior to our arrival), we were even able to hook up a streaming stick in one of the units (not the other because of the model of the TV) which helped us enjoy the unit a lot in the evenings. The Pool and Jacuzzi were fantastic. The temp of the Jacuzzi was warm-like it should be-so I do recommend either getting out as advised after 20-30 mins or going into the pool to cool off a bit before going back. I'm sure the timing of our visit was key but our party used the facilities several times before anyone else were using them-I wouldn't expect this but we tried to go at dinner time to have some time to ourselves and we got lucky every time...and that worked well as we are late eaters. The location we are use to because we have stayed down the road at the now closed Bentley Brook (which we loved) and love the location of the resort in Hancock. Due note, for almost anything you have a 15-30 minute drive to Pittsfield, Williamstown, etc. on the East Side of the mountain the place is nesteld or Stephenstown and New Lebanon to the West/Southwest. We have stayed in the Berkshires a lot over the years and really like this quiet area. We tend to take road trips on nice weather days and have been virtually every direction in a circe about 1.5 hours. Other than the obvious close towns of Williamstown, North Adams, Pittsfield, Lenox and New Lebanon (which has a few close decent/good restauants) we recommend day trips to Albany, Great Barrington, Bennington VT and Hudson/Catskill NY. Saratoga and Lake George are a little farther and would require a long day but are doable from there if you are ambitious. Def would stay here again in a few years...but we have been to the Berkshires in most seasons and are good on it now for a bit. Hope this helps someone make the decision.

I had low expectations given the reviews I'd read on this site and felt worried we'd be throwing money away. We bought tickets ahead of time for the discounted price but I didn't opt in because I figured I wouldn't want to participate in anything. I brought a book. And then 10 minutes after arriving I filled out the 2 page waiver form and handed the lovely people in the Welcome Center $69 in exchange for my all day wrist band. What value! I had such a fantastic time. I was overwhelmed by the knowledge and friendliness of the staff and the quality of the various attractions. I highly recommend going on a weekday in the summer as it was fairly empty and we didn't wait in line for anything. I was with a group of kids aged 12-16 and they all had a blast. But there are also plenty of options for young ones, including a trampoline bungee thing, a mini ropes course, and the mountain coaster and alpine slide. I saw parents riding the alpine slide with toddlers on their laps and it looked really fun. Both the slide and coaster involve long (slow) rides up the mountainside, but the views are beautiful and it's a lot nicer sitting on a chairlift in the summer than in the winter! The slide has two courses so you can go side by side with someone, and you can control the speed, just like on the coaster. There were so many people working and it was very safe, from getting on and off the chair lift to getting on the slide and learning how everything works. Note that if you're being silly and recklessly speeding on the slide you will get hurt. Like, baaaaadly bruised. (Not hurt enough for immediate medical attention, thankfully.) So, heed the warnings of the staff and don't do it. Instead, opt for the adventure of a lifetime on the ropes course. It was AMAZING. There were so many very competent and thoughtful people working there and it was really safe. It was scary, of course, but I never felt like "oh shoot this harness is going to break" or "geez, when was the last time they checked the ladder on this thing." In fact, they were actively repairing some elements on one of the courses (which unfortunately meant one of the courses was closed). There were some moments where you could get stuck or make the wrong guess about what to do next and it seemed like magic that someone on the ground in their bright vest would shout up some good advice. It was definitely an adventure with lots of zip lines and multiple stories off the ground. The staff carefully put you into your harness and then give a very thorough overview of the safety protocol and how to clip in and out of things. I loved that there were so many course options. Lots of great challenges for people at all skill levels. Two other attractions I didn't do but others in my party raved about: a climbing wall and a zip line ride sort of thing for two people. There is a snack bar (and a tavern restaurant I didn't visit) right next to the action and the allergy-friendly options were plentiful! Including Ben and Jerry's ice cream cups, so zero cross contamination worry. The bathrooms are in the welcome center and were clean with a baby changing table. No complaints. It was a super fun day, I highly recommend it, and I thought it was great value for the money.

The person who attempted to check me in was one of the worst individuals I have experienced in my…read moretravels and I have traveled the world. He was inefficient, ineffective, and exceptionally rude. The resort itself was enjoyable but the lack of intelligence by the check in clerk at the Ski in out Country Inn was beyond believable.
