I'd love if they added Adirondack merch too though. Lots of seating, Adirondack-style chairs to stretch your legs out on if you're taking a break from driving. There is also a kids playground and a dog area as well as a small area for everyone else to walk around. Overall, it was a great and easy stop!

It was quite busy on a late Sunday morning and the bathrooms in need of a refresh, but certainly not filthy. The was a Starbucks with drive through, a panera bread, and a Shake Shack, and Chick-fil-A, none of which I visited on this stop. There were electronic car chargers for those so inclined. I was disturbed by all of the broken glass in the parking area I'd selected, so if I develop a slow tire leak, I'll know what happened, and hopefully the state will sweep this up. It is certainly easy on, easy off I-87 access.

The welcome center is only open from 7am to 7pm and when it's closed, there are no restrooms available. Fortunately, I have a potty on board the van. I arrived after closing, took a spot against some of the trees and remained undisturbed overnight. While they have signs that indicate "No camping," that doesn't mean no overnight parking. Just don't "recreate" or set out a tent or a grill, and you should be okay. The welcome center has a free wifi but it doesn't reach far. Other than the cool fact that it's in the Amsterdam area (but not that Amsterdam unfortunately), the gas is 10-30 cents overpriced but you can't get off the highway to get gas because you have to pay more in tolls if you do it that way. The food here is all pretty awful (haven't tried all of it though) and everything inside is overpriced, as usual for these plazas. They do have free Wi-Fi but don't stay too long, because if you fall asleep here or get caught up on your laptop, the people at the toll booth when you exit, will think that you're playing them for fools and will try and charge you full price $25 or so, because you stayed on the highway too long. Sigh. But at least you'll have an awesome Mohawk hairdo.

This is highly inappropriate since staff there have to endure the heat and guests were all complaining. A rest stop is supposed to be a reprieve, not a place you try to avoid. The flies were awful and the McDonald's staff had to have fly swatters while they work. There is no ice cream vendor open here anymore. Further, the women's room was filthy, more on par with a port-a-potty in cleanliness and upkeep (watch out for no toilet paper). It's a heat wave summer. Travelers need healthy places to stop. This was not it.

The structure is beautiful and looked like a barn; it was nicely decorated and showcased Vermont as a whole. The restrooms were large and clean; they had changing tables which was a plus. They had a large patio area with many seats. There was even a playground. Parking was plentiful. We went in September around 6:30 pm and outside near the playground, there were a ton of mosquitos. We had to run out of there lol. Overall, it's a great spot to stop and stretch your legs if you're in the area.

That said, once we let go of the same nostalgia that tells us Pluto is still a planet, I will say the updates aren't bad. They're just very generic, which is likely also part of the point. I do like the updated sink setup in particular. Having water, soap, and dryer in one spot is convenient. The fact that you can access this rest stop from both directions also makes it a convenient meeting point on the road. (That's been handy more than once.) So overall, a very good option for a stop in the Albany area.

Found this service station off 90 for fuel. Paying $3.22/gallon. Situation is kind of tricky…read morebecause if you get off 90 at an exit for fuel you pay a toll to get off and back onto 90 or stay on 90 and stop at a service station and pay more then what's advertised if you get off we choose the service station. Didn't go inside we paid at the pump. There is a small booth if we need assistance in the mix.

Tons of easy parking it's easy to get on and off the Thruway as well.
