We just had a wonderful stay here with our dog. Would highly recommend a stay at Shaker Mill Inn with or without your dog. West Stockbridge is just a few miles from Stockbridge as well as many other things to do & explore in the area. There are several restaurants, an ice cream store and coffee roaster within walking distance of the Inn. Our room was lovely (Tanglewood room) on the first floor - which was nice with our dog. Every room has a patio/balcony where you can sit out and have coffee, wine or read. The innkeepers were so nice & have thought of just about everything. From bathrobes to dog biscuits. It's non-contact check-in, checkout & breakfast. Breakfast is left in your room the day before. Milk/juice, yogurt, fruit/scone or quiche, pastries. And really good coffee/machine - from the local coffee roaster. The grounds are beautiful with gardens. There is a short path in back into the woods - but as John (innkeeper) said - beware of poison ivy. There was also a neat trail nearby that John told us about, with unique sculptures to discover along the way. read more

The location is in a tough looking area being aside of an auto repair shop! We actually had to wait for a ramp truck to move from blocking the entrance to the place. By the looks of the ads they show we thought it was in a beautiful spot. The room was very clean though. You have to travel a bit to get anything you need as there aren't any restaurants close by that are open every day. There isn't anything to do there as there isn't any club house or anything at all nearby. The Rockwell museum was one very nice place nearby that we enjoyed very much. read more

Fantastic, cozy, CLEAN, safe spot to hunker down in for a weekend. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, with its jacuzzi tub and electric fireplace for 3 nights with our small dog. The Inn is the perfect place to take a load off - complete with coffee/tea, breakfast/snacks, doggie welcome basket and tons of hominess! The owners are super helpful and available - we wanted a contactless stay and they provided clean plates, garbage removal, food replenishment and other necessities without entering the space. All I can say is come here and you won't regret it. LOVE IT! read more

This is one of the best b&b's we've been able to visit. We found it on bringfido.com since we wanted to bring our 60lb pup. We got upgraded to the honeymoon suite. Had a fireplace, jacuzzi in bathroom a nice deck in the back and sitting area in front, a little kitchenette. The owners pay a lot of attention to little details. Late at night, pulling off the highway with my mother we were looking for anywhere to rest our heads. We happen to see a sign for a cute little Inn. Once there we saw the absolutely adorable garden in the front, even at night was such an adorable sight. The manager was an absolute ANGEL, helpful and kind. Once in our rooms we were BLOWN away! So much space! So much homely feelings! Everything was thought of! Tv was set to a beautiful warming jazz, the fireplace was on, the setting of the whole place felt like home, and My house doesn't look like this at all!! To top it all off, they had breakfast in the rooms ready for us in the morning. If that's not the absolute cutest shit. Home made quiche, bagels, muffins, locally brewed coffee. A group of us stayed at The Shaker Mill Inn from 11/14/19 through 11/17/19. It was Home Sweet Home for us. Everything was enchanting including the Inn Keepers John and Patty. Always smiling and ready and willing to meet any needs we had. After 5 minutes we were made to feel like family. The Inn was well kept and decorated beautifully. Our breakfasts and snacks were amazing and so fresh. It was our first time staying at the Inn for our annual shopping trip (16 of us) and we had a delightful time. Even Charlie the dog was a favorite as he visited with a smile on his face. We hated to leave on Sunday but before we did we booked for next year. Broke down on 22 just passing over i-80 on a rainy Sunday night. There are no ubers here. There were no taxis that would come get us. Enterprise rent a car "picks you up" (see next review) didnt open until 730 am the next morning and was over 10 miles away. John the owner of Shaker Mill Inn came and picked up not only me and the gf and a bunch of luggage; but my two pit bulls and our xl dog crate. We stayed in the honeymoon suite. I will never be able to repay John for this huge complete game changing favor. We were even able to eat at Rouge restaurant. It's service like this that will make a lifelong customer. This place is the very picture of quaint and comfortable. The grounds are absolutely picturesque, with a lovely English garden and a perfectly manicured lawn dotted with chairs and hammocks and chaises for enjoying the gorgeous Massachusetts air. Our room, the Clark Room, was lovely and warm (yay fireplace!!) and clean as a whistle.; there was even pretty instrumental music playing when we arrived. They have a yummy ginger patchouli lotion and body wash set in the bathroom that I seriously considered stealing, but I didn't want to be a jerk. lastly, the breakfast provided was really tasty: a tart nyonsaise, yummy pastries and juice and coffee. All of it you make/heat in the room, but it's super simple. We enjoyed our breakfast on the deck right outside our room and it was wonderful. My only complaint is that the bed is not the most comfortable; it's just a bit hard. Maybe a foam or feather topper would help that party! Other than that, A plus plus! read more

We had a fairly good stay. The room was quite large, and the beds were very comfortable. The gardens out front were also nice to sit and relax. My favorite part was being able to walk into W. Stockbridge, which is only a few blocks away. The town is charming and has a few excellent places to eat. We wanted to book a last minute trip out of the city. I came across this inn while I was searching around. They were able to accomodate our last minute booking and had no issue with us arriving late since we would be leaving NYC after work. We booked the Rockwell room, inspired by Normal Rockwell. The room was waiting for us when we arrived. The breakfast they supply was really delicious as well. It was a really exceptional hotel. It was very clean and the owner, John, was incredibly helpful and kind. The price was reasonable as well because they leave fresh made breakfast, a stocked fridge with juice and milk, and it was incredibly homey. The special touches here made our stay very enjoyable. The owner, Bob, was busy with maintenance when we arrived, but still took time to greet us and show us to our room. The Clark Room is wonderful. It was large enough to allow one person to enjoy reading while another sleeps. The plugs and lighting are great. A bottle of wine, pastries, ample coffee, a basket of instant items like oatmeal and hot chocolate, and fresh juice and milk come with the suite. A patio outside the room is private. My sister and I enthusiastically recommend the Shaker Mill Inn B&B. Mary and Bob are gracious hosts and the Inn has more privacy than most B&Bs I've stayed at. Our room was very comfortable with attention to details such as an in room electric fireplace. The generous breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, juices, quiche, assorted bakery treats and specialty items. We each have dietary restrictions such as gluten intolerance that Mary was more than happy to accommodate including the provision of a GF dedicated toaster. We enjoyed the privacy of eating in our room or outside in the lovely gardens so we catch up on our lives since my visit last year. We couldn't have had a better experience. This B&B is very quaint with all the comforts of home with attention to all the details that made our stay homey and very comfy. We stayed in the Rockwell Room which included a welcome gift of a nice bottle of wine, a lovely living room with "fireplace", kitchenette, dining table, bedroom and came with breakfast quiche (from local place), pastries, toast, milk/OJ and oatmeal. The kitchenette included a microwave and a toaster oven, coffee and tea! There are various available rooms depending on what you are looking for! Took the madre up to the berkshires for a weekend and stayed here since it was less than a 10 minute drive to the Kripalu yoga center. The owners Bob/Mary were very accomodating, even though we only wanted to stay for one night (typically most places require a two night minimum). The place wasn't ready at 2:30 pm when our check-in was at 3, but they were really nice and let us sit on the porch until they finished. This place is like a house that has been sectioned off for different rooms. This was definitely more private than a lot of other bed and breakfasts because you get your own key to your own apartment. The apartment had a mini fridge, toaster oven, microwave - which was neat but unecessary for our stay. Anyway, overall a pleasant experience and would recommend. read more

My husband & myself with our standard poodle had the most perfect experience. John and Patti could not have been more welcoming and thoughtful. The wonderfully located accommodations were exceedingly comfortable and pristine. I found more small niceties and conveniences than in some five star hotels. We had our little gas burning fireplace, ample comfortable and cozy furniture, a brand new TV and a jar of sweets. The care to detail for our delicious "in room" breakfast provided by local vendors, the welcoming bottle of wine, and all of the materials on local points of interest were splendid. The most amazing surprise for us was a goodie basket for our dog to use while we were there. It held dog bowls, a couple of dog towels a placemat and treats. All this for a very reasonable price.
