Donovan was very helpful,my son was going in to buy his first gaming setup ( monitor, keyboard, mouse and mouse pad) he was already into gaming so he know more than me about this kinda stuff he told the worker his specs he wanted on the monitor and he showed us a couple of different options. He also found a very expensive monitor on sale that we decided to purchase. He also helped my son pick out a mouse. He had him click some of them and see if he liked the feel. He found us reasonably priced items compared to competitors and the same process for the mouse and mouse pad. We will most definitely be back if we need upgrades. My husband and I purchased a new desktop last week and the staff was very helpful. The young lad (didn't get his name) spent about 30 minutes with us going over some options on their website and we were able to take something home that evening. UPDATE: It gets better... I ended up coming back the next day to pick up the desktop, and after 2 hours of setting up the workstation, it crashed and started flickering. Turns out it was faulty and had hardware issues. ORIGINAL: Terrible Service Called in advance to let them know I'm rushing there from half hour away to pick up an order I placed online. Typical service you'd get with a salesman looking at his watch at 8:04PM to tell you they're closed, come back tomorrow when they're open and can't even look up a stock on the computer that essentially takes 2 minutes. Given I had run late on my work schedule, I had no choice but to be turned away. Of course I'd be driving out of their parking lot few minutes later to see 4 staff members chilling on their phones standing around inside having a nice chat. If it wasn't for the stock levels and the need of a business desktop urgently, I'd never bother to return to this location. Shit service overall! read more

Got my computer nearly two years ago here, brought in my keyboard which had a malfunctioning space bar, turns out my warranty was expired but the employee offered to switch my broken one for their demo model. I see these bad reviews here and I guess it's to be expected for a tech business, but I've never had a problem here. read more

Pretty big store and service was fast. Had what I needed! And the price was half of advertised at Bestbuy.

So I may be a bit biased since my most recent visit to this location was on Boxing Day. That being said, I have been here several others times, but I think today made me realize how much poorer run this location is than the one off Merivale. The place was pretty crazy today with only two cashiers open for a line that literally went around the store. While there are a few particularly knowledgeable staff members here, there's far less than at the Nepean store. The staff aren't as friendly either - they seem much younger and perhaps not as experienced. The layout of the store is basically the same as all their locations, but this one seems a bit more cramped than other locations. While I wasn't really impressed with this location, they did have what we needed (even though it ended up being a crappy product and we're returning it tomorrow - I might need to update this!). Worst part? We waited in line for over 45 minutes to pay for one product. Ugh. If you're in Kanata, I'd still come here over places like Best Buy and Future Shop, but I would always hit up the Nepean store if possible. read more

This is the worse service I have ever gotten. I've been twice in the past three days, the second time was to return a broken piece. I understand that its the holiday season and times are stressful, but what I experienced was unacceptable. I went shopping all day Bayshore and was still offered a solid quality of customer service (aka the basic quality of interaction you'd expect from any other human being). But no, here I was hit with sarcastic comments, one-liners and eye-rolling. There are hundreds of other places you can buy electronic components and receive moderate respect. read more

This was one of the worst customer service experiences we have had in a long time. In sum my son bought a computer tower. Upon opening the box we see that it is damaged. My husband called to ask if we could return. Brought it to store. Tech (Gabriel) ripped open box. Said there was no damage to box so our fault. Husband pointed out damaged area to box and was told that this wasn't enough damage to cause that kind of dent. We would have to call the manufacturer. Called manager (Eric) today. Brought box back in to have it looked at again essentially told the same thing. Like seriously? Best to blame the customer for physical damage on an item they just bought? This was not an expensive item so the cost really isn't the issue here. I don't think customers should be stuck with broken merchandise or the hassle of having to deal with the manufacturer. The box is clearly damaged. Definitely lost respect for this business. read more

I have had two abysmal experiences at Canada Computers. The first time I was upgrading my RAM for my MacBook Pro, the clerk was very friendly and assured me the brand he recommended was Mac safe/tested and if it didn't work he would exchange it for something else no problem. Well, it didn't work. No problem right? Took it back a couple days later with receipt and the guy at the returns counter refuses to exchange it for anything other than the same product. He then installed it without any gloves or protective measures, it obviously didn't work AGAIN and I had to shop elsewhere. Without a refund. Today, nearly a year later, I decided to go back against my better judgement. The six year old hard drive on my Mac had finally failed and I needed a new one. I explained my situation and showed my laptop, the clerks were very friendly and said no problem! Take it over to the tech guy and we'll pop the new one in for you. They sent me over to have it tested and make sure they knew the right size before selling me a new one. The guy at tech refused to even touch my computer saying that he doesn't work on Mac computers. I didn't even bother rattling cages, if they don't want my money that's fine. Ever Best Computers on Merivale is the best bang for your buck, with a knowledgeable caring team, and the cheapest prices in the city or even online. I walked in and told them I have $600 for a gaming pc that will rum fortnite. 15 - 20 minutes later they told me all the parts and it went over $600 but I was fine with that. I brought it and went home to build it. it works fine and I can play fortnite!! I will keep shopping here till the day I die. read more

Went in to purchase a gaming laptop, I looked around at the laptops after not being asked for some help after some time I approached one of the associates who was not busy and asked if they had the laptop I wanted to purchase in stock -- he then asked me if I had checked their inventory to see if they had any stock. -- I was not aware it was the customers responsibility to check the stores inventory for products they carry. Horrible customer service I will be purchasing my laptop from a vendor that cares to help their customers. read more
