It's about a 15 minute drive to the closest winery, so take note. Despite its name, the hotel isn't technically in wine country. If you are expecting a room that looks out on sweeping vineyards, you're going to be sorely disappointed. The hotel is located in a not-so-swanky area next to a Toys-R-Us, a Perkins, and a mall, with a view of the road. There are plenty of chain restaurants and places to grab food, but do not expect a fancy area. This is a place for simple, clean accommodations, but the rooms are overpriced for what you get. Our standard King room was clean and smelled fresh, decorated with appealing and calming blue tones. The bathroom (shower only) was bright and spacious. We made use of the free breakfast (standard fare, nothing exciting) and appreciated the complimentary parking. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but we did not get any recognition nor upgrades for being Diamond members (except for the welcome snack crackers). The free wifi worked well, and the small indoor pool was so adorable (really wish it stayed open later so we could've enjoyed a dip after a long drive). I probably would stay here again if I happened to be passing through the area. It's a good, solid Hampton Inn.

The parking leaves a bit to be desired but it doesn't matter because once we were inside, we didn't want to leave again. It was such a beautiful stay. I never felt more comfortable in my life. At first I was shocked to see people walking everywhere with robes on. I don't know why but I assumed I would see that more at the pool or even the spa but people were reading books in robes in the lobby, hanging out at the bar etc.. It was really refreshing to see. Once we got in our room we threw on our swimsuits and grabbed our robes. We spend most of our time at the outdoor pool the first day. It was so amazing. I absolutely love the idea of going into warm water when it's cold outside. The contrast in temperatures is so fun. I've been in hot tubs in the winter but an entire heated swimming pool just brought out this child-like joy that I can't explain. I had way too much fun. Then we made our way down to the hot spring. That was my absolute favorite. You can book your time frames in advance as much as you want. There's a 15min limit to each visit which is kind of annoying but understandable. It makes it so everyone can get a chance to enjoy it without overcrowding. There were several couples that didn't follow the rules and just stayed there well beyond the time. They would be there when we got in and still there when we left. That kind of annoyed me that staff doesn't monitor the hot spring to prevent that from happening but it is what it is. We just stuck to the rules and booked so much that a few times we had the whole hot spring to ourselves. It was such a nice experience. It's super close to home for us and we will be back for sure. I'm obsessed.

The noise level was not relaxing and you had to dodge them playing. worst thing they allowed small children in with their saggy yucky diaper that really grossed me out. Indoor pool was quite warm. when I was swimming hairs kept getting tangled around my fingers. That was a huge yuck. Hot springs pool very small and when the jets were not ,on you could see stuff floating on top. we did not want to chance it. The next day we did not go swimming at all, we left. Staff was good.

The accommodations are kept clean, and the king size bed was firm and comfortable. Every morning they serve a good hearty "breakfast-in-bed" delivered to your room at whatever time you choose the night before. Between 7am to 10am. The hotel is very close to the overcrowded Clifton Hill area which is home to an amusement park atmosphere. The hotel is also within good walking distance to the Falls, about a 20 -30 minutes walk along the promenade on the Niagara River. However, it's quiet at the hotel at all hours thankfully. Sterling Inn appears to be one of the better hotel options in the immediate touristy area. *There is a AG Restaurant on premises , as well as Spa for your pleasure.* Thank you for reading. There is a restaurant below the inn which was fabulous. Staff were welcoming and warm. Being from out of the country I had numerous questions while I was there and the staff I met were patient and helpful. The room was modern, clean, and neat. I rarely heard any of my neighbors or outside noise. The bed was comfy, water pressure in the shower was good, and the AC worked properly. Breakfast in bed is delivered each morning if you request it. It was a lot of food for me so I opted out the rest of my trip.

The property was absolutely pristine and exceptionally well maintained throughout. The amenities made for a very comfortable stay, from the plush beds and cozy robes to the slippers and in-room Nespresso machine stocked with a wide variety of coffee flavours. These thoughtful touches really elevated the experience. What stood out most, however, was the service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to accommodate guests' needs. It's clear that guest experience is a priority here. I visited on a weekend when the hotel was completely booked, which speaks volumes about its popularity. If you're planning a stay, I would definitely recommend booking early. KEEP…read moreIN MIND THAT THIS HOTEL IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS AT THE TIME I WRITE THIS REVIEW. As a result, numerous disruptions and some frustrations occurred during my stay here. I was put in a suite on the 6th floor of the hotel. To start this review off on a positive note, I was happy to see that the entire floor had its renovations already completed. They look absolutely beautiful! The room was quite clean, nice, modern and spacious. The lobby, compared to the images posted here, looks a lot more welcoming and homey. The location of this hotel is cool in that there's a bowling alley and arcade attached next door! Great for those who want to have a fun night. Now I'll get into some of the problems/annoyances I encountered while here. The first one is of the elevators. This hotel has a weird elevator layout in that there is either one elevator in the lobby or at the end of the hallway where the rooms are. That's very annoying because that means when the elevators are busy, people have to wait for minutes just to go up or down. Of the annoyances that were most significant, as a result of the renovations, power was cut for a few hours and the WiFi was turned off temporarily, also for a few hours, due to upgrades. Let me be clear: these sorts of things can happen at any hotel, but it's how the hotel manages these situations that matters most. Although a notice about these events was placed at the front desk, I was not made aware of these two events happening. This was obviously a major inconvenience that could have been avoided had the hotel communicated this better, such as slipping notes under each person's hotel room door to inform such people of the disruptions. That obviously never happened so it caught me by surprise. Another major issue was the construction workers who would either take the elevators out of service, or prevent guests from using the elevators due to the equipment inside they use to renovate the hotel. Very inconvenient for guests who either stay on high floors, or need the elevator to transport equipment of any kinds! I'd certainly stay here again, but only once the renovations are complete and only if the hotel improves its communication to guests better. The hotel has the potential to be one of the best Holiday Inn hotels to stay at, it is currently going through some growing pains with the renovations right now and probably needs some management shake up to improve communication with guests.
