On June 29 I wrote a very critical review of CRE for charging me for work that wasn't done. Today, July 1, Matt Zacher, owner of CRE, called to acknowledge an over-zealous employee (my words) had been wrong and offered to refund a portion of the bill. We discussed it, agreed on an amount, and the bill has been adjusted to my satisfaction. Matt's handling of my complaint is testament to his integrity and good business practice. With Matt in charge I will continue doing business with CRE. read more

Had my Husqvarna riding mower serviced by CRE and the unit looks brand new when returned. Not only did they do a complete service, by they pickup and dropped off the mower at a very reasonable cost. Having them pick up the unit is preferable as trying to load the mower into my truck is, at best, hazardous. I have used CRE for over 40 years and they are always reasonable and thorough when servicing my equipment. I highly recommend CRE for mower and small engine repairs. read more

In May I purchased a Husqvarna TS354 garden tractor from Canby Rental. I have to say, they are the best around. I rarely write reviews but this one had to be done. I worked with Bobbie on my purchase. She took time to listen to my request and find me exactly what I wanted. I wanted one of the beefier garden tractor/riding mowers around but I was specific in that I had to have it with the Kawasaki engine. Bobbie found me exactly what I was looking for, gave me a great price, and made sure she followed up with me to make sure I was happy. We had a hiccup with the steering wheel on my unit and Bobbie immediately mailed me a replacement part free of charge. Talk about customer service! While I was there I spoke to a very nice guy about a chainsaw. He hooked me up with a Stihl Wood Boss MS251 that I absolutely adore. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I live in Ridgefield, Washington but I will gladly make the trek to Canby to spend my money with Canby Rental. They've earned my business. If you're in the market for new lawn/garden equipment, you owe it to yourself to at LEAST stop by and talk with them. If you're not impressed with the service, pricing, and selection then you're probably not in the right place. read more

While using an excavator on a two-day rental, lever broke. Was responsible for the repair costs though breakage was not due to my negligence or misuse. With no offer made to inspect equipment before use (not that I would be qualified to ensure something such as a lever wasn't going to break), there's no guarantee equipment is in working order and isn't minutes away from breaking down. Don't pay for any rental until your return it! I paid for my rental in cash before I took it off the lot , then they asked for my card number just Incase I broke anything or whatever so I gave them that and they charged me $1 like they tell you. But once I came to return my rental today they had no info in the computer that I paid cash before I left the lot. So I had to pay 87$ more than I was supposed to because I got double charged cuz they don't do their paper work correctly. read more

I took my chainsaw in to be repaired. I decided not to have them do the work because it was very expensive. When I picked up my chainsaw it was in 25 pieces in a box. The guy told me it would be more money to put it back together the way it was when they first evaluate it it. I received horrible customer service. I will never go back there again read more

After review contacted by Owner and had some good discussions about expectations and clearer communication he seems dedicated to trying to do better and asking for another chance to do better. Improving the rating based on their willingness to take feedback and hopefully take action Duped by good reviews, my experience was not good. I purchased a new lawnmower from what I thought was a reputable brand and from a reputable store. What I got was a mower that stopped working after about 6 hr and was falling apart. Took it back showed the salesperson the issues, they confirmed it sounded amiss. A few hour later I get a call from service department that they couldn't find any issues and want to charge me $250 for time spent (including fixing the obvious poor assembly). I get the machine back and it dies again after 2 hr,. This time I diagnose for them, amazingly they were investigating an electrical issue by cutting grass (not surprising since the authorized mechanic didn't know where the fuse was located). In short CRE is overpriced for low quality goods, unknowledgeable service department and full of empty promises. They may be outstanding for renting equipment but I will never find out read more

I started with the purchase of a Stihl chainsaw in 1998. I have rented trenchers, trailers, a concrete saw once, a toro dingo for a week for a concrete pad project. I have brought other equipment, repair parts and on occasion used their Service Department. They have never been less than fair with me.
