My two year old loves this dance studio. Every Saturday morning she is so happy to see Mrs. Alison!

The teachers create such a positive environment while still helping the kids grow technically and build confidence. You can tell how much heart goes into everything they do. They…read moredemonstrated a commitment to quality instruction with an equal love for their students and their wellbeing. It was our safe haven. This is no longer the case. They've gone the way of everyone else; only the stars matter. Everyone else who has been keeping their lights on for years has been banished to level one purgatory and told they will never do X or Y. Excuse me but becoming a professional ballerina was never the goal for us. We just wanted to get exercise, learn discipline, and have fun, not retire at 25 with a permanently damaged body while living on food stamps. ‍ If you have a child on the spectrum, I highly recommend finding an alternative. This studio is not neuroinclusive; they'll keep your kid down year after year after year until you finally get the hint and show yourself out the door. Spark, sometimes human beings matter more than the number of girls you brag about sending to summer intensives. You can still put on a beautiful production while allowing autistic girls to progress with their peers (not talking about pointe, talking about dignity and inclusivity). You know it's illegal to discriminate against disabilities, right? So disappointed and heartbroken.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I would strongly…read moreadvise against doing business with Dance Deluxe. Our experience has been nothing but unprofessional, unethical, unorganized and frustrating. They have been deceitful about fees, restricting access to our payment records, and refusing to provide a clear breakdown of charges. Despite their claim that we owed costume fees, I reviewed my payment records (before they suspiciously revoked my access to the parent portal) and confirmed that all costume fees had already been paid. When we challenged them on this, instead of addressing our concerns, they shut down communication and made it unnecessarily difficult--seemingly because we decided to discontinue dance. Additionally, they are refusing to refund summer recital costume fees, yet won't provide any information on when we can pick them up. If the recital fees won't be refunded either, they should at least refund the remaining balance on our account. But instead of handling this professionally, they simply refuse to engage. Beyond the financial issues, there is a lot of favoritism at this studio. Certain dancers and families are clearly prioritized, while others are treated unfairly. When concerns are brought up, the staff is always extremely defensive instead of being open to feedback or resolution. Another major issue is their staffing. Instead of hiring experienced instructors, they rely on their older teenage dancers to teach classes. While some of these teens may be talented dancers, they are not trained teachers. I often found that if I wasn't sitting outside the room, the young instructors wouldn't effectively manage the class or keep students engaged. It's completely unprofessional to expect parents to monitor the instructors just to ensure they do their jobs. On top of that, the instructors are rude, unprofessional, and even make fun of students instead of creating a supportive learning environment. Rather than being encouraging, they act dismissively and unkindly toward certain dancers. No child should feel uncomfortable or belittled at a place that is supposed to foster growth and confidence. The facility itself is also disgusting. They never clean or sanitize the dance rooms or dressing rooms, and the whole place smells like urine and feet. For a place where kids are constantly moving, stretching, and sitting on the floors, basic hygiene should be a priority--but clearly, it isn't. A professional business should be willing to justify its charges, provide qualified instructors, and treat all customers with respect--even if they choose to leave. Instead, Dance Deluxe operates in a way that feels dishonest and retaliatory. If you're considering this studio, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere to avoid the same headaches we've experienced. If anyone would like to reach out to me to discuss this further, feel free to contact me. I'm happy to share my experience in more detail.

The teachers seems aloof and not kid friendly. The monthly payment is high, but probably comparable to other dance schools, however they make you pay for everything. The costume for the play was almost a $100, and I could have made a better job myself. The school sent a list of makeup items for the official play picture, and they were outrageously expensive; I feel sorry for some of the parent that felt compelled to buy them from the list. We decided to do it ourselves and the results were so much better! In addition to the monthly payment, the expensive costume, and make up, they also charge you a hefty fee for your kid to participate in the play. What is the point of the class then? Why are we paying the monthly payment to begin with? Isn't the play the culmination of a year of class? Oh, and both parents are required to buy tickets for the play (I would have thought that at least one parent would be free of charge since it's a minor participating), but the worst of all, they don't even reserve the tickets for you; you have to go into the system where everybody else is buying tickets, and good luck finding good seats. I don't mind paying a high price for things, but I need to see value for my money, and this school does not offer it.

We purchased tickets for the Thursday, January 8th show. We arrived a bit early on the day of the show. It was our first time at Hale and we wanted to be prepared. We were directed to a side entrance where they usually have their music shows. I knew the theatre was small, but was still surprised to see how intimate it was. I didn't mind it. The theatre sells concessions before the show and during intermission. We didn't purchase any. The show was phenomenal! The band and the singers were very talented and put on a fantastic performance. They nailed the original voices, which is not easy, and even hit some of the high notes. It took us back to the disco days of the 70s. We can't wait to catch another show at Hale Center Theatre!
