When she began she was a grade school student with no musical background she now is in college. Cory Tcheng made her feel like an accomplished musician when she was young. She could select the songs she wanted to play and he would teach her within her ability. As she became more skilled she would be introduced to more complicated techniques. Cory holds "Rock Concerts" rather than recitals. Even the young performers play their favorite genre of music. As they develop they continue to play the songs and style of music they love but their selections have more depth. There is a performance focus. The students are grouped together for their concerts. Each student being in the spotlight with other students providing backup music. It is very impressive to see. I highly encourage you to look their website and listen to clips of the performances. The school is for any age and ability, young to mature. Everyone will find it encouraging, challenging and rewarding. For grade school age children, music theory and music reading is taught on a weekly basis as well. The program is very well-organized and over the years, it feels like joining a large community. Our private teacher, Maria-Rosa Germain does a great job with my daughters- she is very patient, enthusiastic, and has many wonderful teaching techniques. I cane back the next month & I bought a bass off of them, which cost 4x as much as the item I returned, & I did it as a thanks for helping me the prior month but instead of thank you, i got a sarcastic comment from the owner about if I was going to return the guitar too! I already paid for the bass otherwise I was ready to give it right back but I just kept my mouth shut despite being highly insulted. That was the last time I set foot i.n Lincoln Music House I hope their business gets better because they turned me off after going there for over 35 years. It's a shame because with Uncle Bob's going out of business, there aren't a lot of mom & pop stores left but customer service is #1 in my book & they definitely drove me away with their poor attitudes & it's a shame. Customer Service: 5 out of 5 Well, he agreed to come to the city during rush hour, and that by itself should count for a lot. Like I mentioned, there's a 1 year service period where he will work on your cello (for free, I think). Real stand up guy - brought his kid along (his inspiration for making the cellos in the first place). Does things by the book - even charging the correct amount of sales tax. Pricing: 4 out of 5. Are cellos cheap? No. Are hand crafted cellos cheap? No. Are hand crafted non laminate cellos cheap? No. But are his cellos cheaper than something I could purchase from a boutique store or even online? Yes. And they sound amazing. The entry level 6 year and the top of the line 12 year are very boisterous and voluminous, but the mellow 12 year cello (Vivace) has an excellent tone. If you want to purchase a cello for yourself, or a student, do hurry - I believe he'll be raising prices on his entry level cello come fall.

I paid for my Fortissimo cello on a Monday , and it arrived at my Brooklyn home on Thursday. I also requested Larson strings be put on it. Not only did the cello come completely set up as requested, it was almost completely in tune! This cello has a truly powerful tone. Great service! Great product!
