Their guitar tech is great here & it's also a great place to rent instruments for school band projects. I used to love the service here but I had an unfortunate incident in where I had to return an item I bought & only 11 days after I bought it & I was made to feel about two inches tall when I asked for the favor. Im a disabled Iraq veteran on a fixed income & I had some bad luck fall upon me & I was made to feel like I was going to bankrupt the business but fortunately the owners wife intervened & allowed my return. I cane back the next month & I bought a bass off of them, which cost 4x as much as the item I returned, & I did it as a thanks for helping me the prior month but instead of thank you, i got a sarcastic comment from the owner about if I was going to return the guitar too! I already paid for the bass otherwise I was ready to give it right back but I just kept my mouth shut despite being highly insulted. That was the last time I set foot i.n Lincoln Music House I hope their business gets better because they turned me off after going there for over 35 years. It's a shame because with Uncle Bob's going out of business, there aren't a lot of mom & pop stores left but customer service is #1 in my book & they definitely drove me away with their poor attitudes & it's a shame. Still, if you need an affordable instrument or need some maintenance on one, they do offer quality in both. It may look like a hole in the wall easy to drive by but this is probably Milwaukees best kept secret. My friend and I only just started playing guitar and wanted to know more about how to take care of our guitars and what supplies we'd need. Larry took probably more than an hour answering every single question we had, actually found us the most affordable supplies that were quality, didn't try to upsell us, and made us even more excited about playing our instruments. It's so good to know that they do guitar tune up here and are so knowledgeable so I know my guitar will be in good hands when I most definitely go back to them to get it taken care of. And at such affordable prices! They even sell tambourines and music books for string and wind instruments here and give lessons for drums and many other instruments. I'm gonna be a regular here. I just moved to the area. I stopped here to drop off my vintage reissue Stratocaster for adjustments. I was very pleasantly surprised when they looked at my guitar and made neck adjustments right there on the spot in front of me. For a vintage guitar that means removing the neck from the body. 15 minutes later my guitar was back together and playing great! I 100% can tell the guys here truly love guitars and know them inside out. The price for adjustment was super reasonable. I highly recommend this place compared to other shops in the area, especially for Fender instruments and turn around time. read more

This is a great little music store. I'm the kind of musician who sticks with what he's got. I'm not going out every few years and buying a new guitar or a new keyboard or whatever. But I do need a place that's well stocked in the neccessary supplies of the trade. Things like guitar strings, tuners, adapaters, etc. Lincoln always has it. And they're just about the friendliest people in any music store in town. They offer lessons, and, for such a small space, they are chock full of a wide variety of instruments. I had reviewed Lincoln Music before, and at that time there was another, equally positive review. Now I am once again the only reviewer. Hmm... Anyway, I started going to Lincoln Music for lessons when I was still a kid ... am in my 40s now, and some of the same people who worked there back in the day are running the place now. Each and every instrument salesperson is an absolute master player, and can all play me under the table with ease. What this means to you is that while big box retailers are hiring straight commission salespeople with little or no knowledge of what they sell, you can still go to Lincoln and get guidance, advice and expert service and repair. And your guitar purchased from Lincoln will be properly set up ... not something you can expect from a mass merchant. Selection is pretty broad given that most of the floor space is devoted to lesson studios, and special orders are no problem. Bottom line ... these are people you can trust to know what they are doing, and people you can trust to support what they sell. read more

If you're in the market for a good instrument buying experience, I highly recommend them. Lincoln music house is a great local music store. It's a tiny space jam packed with instruments. There are practice rooms for lessons both on the main floor and also tucked away in their basement. If you buy from them the instrument will be setup right. I was browsing guitars the other day and commented that the fret edges needed to be filed down a bit on one of them. They offered to do it right then and there. Their selection isn't huge, but they generally carry high quality gear--not junk. By not huge I mean that they don't carry every guitar and bass in every color choice, but that's not to say that the walls are bare. I don't think they can pack any more instruments into their show room if they tried. They have a selection of wind and brass band instruments as well although I haven't paid much attention. It's not simply a guitar shop. They're happy to put you in a practice room and let you try out any instrument that catches your fancy. read more

Stopped in here tonight on an absolute whim. A friend of mine and I had just spent the evening in Milwaukee and wanted to end the night demoing some instruments/ or having a look around. To our surprise most of the shops closed at 8, and this was our only shop with later hours. I'm so glad we came! One of the guys , (I think one of the owners) was just super kind, totally chill and really helpful. I actually ended up purchasing a ukulele for my sisters upcoming birthday. When I asked the guy for his honest opinion of what he thought I should buy for a beginner, he was kind and straightforward in his answer. He didn't try and up-sell me, like something you'd encounter at a big chain store. He gave me options backed with a genuine opinion. He was kind enough to inspect the uke / it's intonation and get it tuned up properly so I could hear how it played. He gave a nice little demo that had me convinced on the spot. I am SO happy we stumbled upon this place tonight. Just a shop run by genuine people with what seems to be just a general love for music that encompasses all instruments. I had the chance to listen to the guy that helped me play guitar for a bit. Just this smooth almost Latin influence to his style of playing. Simply put, it was fluent and beautiful! I will most definitely be back to this shop my next Milwaukee visit, and will recommend to friends in the area looking for something new. Nice variety of guitars, drums, the odd brass instrument, patch cables, straps, amps (tubed and solid) and plenty of accessories and cases.
