My daughter recently got married at the Candlewood Inn. I can not give them enough accolades for the entire event. From the planning of the wedding ceremony, they made sure everything ran seamlessly. The food at the cocktail hour and reception was great. Served hot and cooked to perfection. I also want to thank them for taking care and helping a good friend get around as she was using a walker after an ankle surgery. She told me there was someone always there helping her get around everytime she made a move. Service was so above and beyond. Thank you... Thank you... Thank you!!!! read more

I was MOH in a wedding here a couple of months ago for my best friends wedding. It was genuinely a really beautiful venue located right on the lake, both inside and out. The staff here throughout the day was on the ball with everything we asked/needed. The bridal suite was very spacious- a perfect place for all of us to get ready. Cocktail hour was phenomenal! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. I have been to quite a few weddings this last year and it is very rare for a venues dinner to outdo the cocktail hour. This one however was fantastic! My husband and I wound up getting the steak for dinner and it was almost like butter, it just melted in your mouth- Truly top notch. I loved all the large see through windows overlooking the lake by the dance floor, it was an i creditable view especially at sunset. Came here for a wedding in October. It was still able to be outdoors and it was a lovely day for it. The surrounding scenery was beautiful. Really lovely to be able to get married on the water with such a beautiful view of the lake and the changing leaves. Everything was really well done. The staff were excellent. Bartenders were really good and there were plenty of servers for the cocktail hour. All of the hot appetizers were really good. The cheese, cracker, hummus and fruit station was plentiful and looked really nice. During dinner, all of the courses came out fast. No one at our table was kept waiting. Plenty of staff to take care of all the guests. Dirty plates and glasses were collected immediately to get ready for the next course. Everything I ate was really good. The filet was tender as well as tasty and cooked the way I requested. The interior here is really nice as well and you still get great views of the lake from wherever you are. If you are planning a wedding or special event, I definitely recommend checking out the Candlewood Inn. read more

Sales folks there are rude. The venue kinda looks like IKEA funeral home. The venue is only worth it for the outdoor view so if it gets rained on your event day, you will lose the total value of selecting that venue read more

Came here for a wedding on a stormy Saturday night. The property was beautiful! Located right on the lake complete with stunning views and a picteresque gazebo- its screaming idealic wedding site. There were probably around 100 people at the wedding and even with just the indoor area there's plenty of room to mingle, drink and dance. Inside there's a bar in one corner and the main dining area in the other. Beautiful bay windows face out to the lake completing the whole affect. The champagne was plentiful (always makes for a good wedding) and we never waited more than a few seconds for a drink. As for the food, it was a little better than standard wedding fare. The apps were nothing to write home about, although after a few glasses of champage I was ready to eat anything passing me by on a plate. For the main entree, I had the mahi mahi which was ok. The filet, which seemed to be a popular choice, looked and tasted better!! I love the fact that we were the only ones on the property. There weren't millions of banquet halls with weddings all around. As much fun as wedding crashers are its nice to have the place to yourself. We had my sister's wedding here five years ago and I loved it so much that I just booked MY wedding here!! At my sister's wedding, everything ran very smoothly and we were treated like royalty, especially by Christian, who is the man in charge of running everything on the day. They provided a snack, champagne, and water for our guests before the ceremony. When it started to rain during the outdoor ceremony by the beautiful gazebo, Christian and the staff ran out and handed out umbrellas that the venue provided. (They DO have a backup indoor ceremony space in case the weather is really bad). They made sure the wedding party had drinks & food while we took pictures during cocktail hour. The filet mignon for dinner was excellent! The venue truly is beautiful and they only have one wedding at a time so every bride will feel special. That ended up being most important to me when I booked my wedding. The service was excellent and the server followed my request to not clear my plate if I got up to dance. The bridal suite is upstairs and easy to access before, during & after the reception. It is large enough for a good size bridal party too, and they provided food & champagne before the ceremony for us. Filomena is the general manager and she is really friendly & polite. They want to make you feel special! (I went to another place to check it out as a possible place for my wedding and the woman acted as if it would be an honor to me if I was allowed to have my wedding there. She didn't make me feel special at all, and with a $30,000 price tag, I should feel special. This place was in Westport btw). Candlewood Inn has a sister venue called The Waterview in Monroe that is also beautiful. The prices are a little less here, so if you want to cut a few costs, look here too! We held our gathering following my mother-in-laws funeral mass at this lovely place on the lake. The food was amazing, the set up was so beautiful as we walked in after a tough few days. We were met with kindness all around, delicious food, incredible service, and a calm, peaceful and beautiful atmosphere to be with our family and friends. Connor made sure we had everything we could ever need, including to go boxes full of deliciousness to have for dinner that night. I went to a wedding here this summer. The food was great, the space was great, there was plenty of parking and easy to find. My only complaint was the set up of the chairs during the ceremony. Because the ceremony is outdoors down a sloping hill, you can't see anything unless you are in the front two rows. Also, they had no sound system, so we couldn't hear anyone, the officiant or the bride and groom. I was pretty bummed not to be able to hear or see... isn't that the whole point of a wedding? Also- the outdoor portion was so beautiful, we tried to go outside to enjoy it but as soon as the sun goes down the mosquitoes and moths are terrible! it would be nice if there was some torches or fire pits to keep the bugs down. If I did my wedding here I'd make sure there is a better plan for seating and a sound system so your guests can be a part of your big day. read more

I came here recently for a wedding. The place is perfectly located, on a lake, where the sun sets opposite the lake. There is a gazebo located in their lakeside yard, which is a perfect spot for a wedding, or even a party perhaps. The interior is also perfect for a reception, with large windows, chandeliers, a large bar area, and a porch for appetizers... The one thing I would change is that the reception area has outdated dark carpet..... I think hardwood floors throughout would make for a brighter, more elegant appearance. I recently was in a wedding that took place at Candlewood Inn - and let's just say I was BLOWN AWAY! This place is simply TOP NOTCH. I was the MOH in the wedding, and all the staff was EXTREMELY accommodating - they waited on us head and foot - whether it was in the suite, during photographs or during the actual reception. One woman especially, Cathy, was EXTRAORDINARY! She was so sweet and ready to help us with whatever we needed! If I were to get married in CT, this would be the place to go! My daughter had her wedding at the Candlewood Inn on Sunday, April 8th. I cannot say how incredibly beautiful it was. The venue was spectacular. It was alittle chilly outside but we made it thru the ceremony and it was amazing. The cocktail hour and reception were wonderful. The food was prepared perfectly and everyone enjoyed it so much. The staff was very attentive and so accommodating the entire day. Christian kept the wedding on point from start to finish and made our entire wedding party feel so special. Had my daughters wedding at Candlewood Inn 4/2/2022 from the day we booked the wedding we knew this was the place the immaculate grounds beautiful scenery and the reception hall which was so nostalgic and romantic looking.The bridal suite was awesome we booked the day so we had a private relaxing day.There were 2 bridal attendants and these young ladies were sweet polite and always with a smile.The event coordinator was polished and attentive to every detail.The ceremony was professionally run and they made sure we knew exactly what to do and when to do it.The food was plentiful from the cocktail hour to the main course I had the filet mignon which was tasty and so tender my husband had the halibut which he raved about.They told us they had a bakery within their facility and the cake was unbelievable we chose the Viennese table which I highly reccommend the selection of desserts and coffee were excellent and the desserts were freshly baked they melted in your mouth.From beginning to the very end Candlewood Inn and their awesome staff made our daughters wedding day so memorable.My husband had health issues and they went above and beyond to make him comfortable.Our guests were complimenting everything from the moment they arrived until they left. The Candlewood Inn is a beautiful place to hold your wedding. The inn faces the lake and it's gorgeous. The lady who showed us the grounds was great and welcoming. However when talking to the manager about pricing she was cold and had no personality and wasn't willing to work with us. She put me off with how rude she was and would not hold my event there because of it. Would consider getting someone else to talk to customers. read more

My cousin's wedding was held at Candlewood Inn. Since they host so many weddings here, the staff has the protocol DOWN. It's nice if you want someone to usher you through the program and not worry about everything being taken care of. The down side is that it doesn't leave a ton of room for creativity. My cousin was a little bummed that the staff didn't follow through on some of her wishes but, from an average guest's perspective, I'm sure everything seemed fine. As part of the bridal party, we were well taken care of with our own hor duerves, drinks, and dressing room. The outdoor setting for the wedding itself, by the water, was also picturesque. My cousin was even able to make use of the lake for her getaway by boat. All in all, the experience was what I expected and the staff made it a mostly fun day for my cousin. read more
