I stayed with my mother as I moved across country. I selected the hotel bc it was dog friendly, and it certainly was. The hotel was clean, the rooms large and the staff friendly. It had the potential to be noisy with the highway on one side and the railway on the other, but the staff was accommodating to put us on the front side of the building. I'd stay again. First of all, pricey.... That being said... no hair dryer in the room?!?! Luckily I had one in my car, cause when I asked at front desk I didn't get any help with getting one for me. Took a while to figure out wifi, finally got it to work. No breakfast. Luckily had decent ice machine. Dog fee $25. I wear socks while in my room... my socks were FILTHY within minutes! We stayed at this hotel a few nights ago after a long ride from Topeka Kansas. It was late and we were very tired. The hotel seemed a little worn, but we got a room on the first floor with Freckles. It was more like a suite bc it had a kitchen, dishes etc. So I am writing this to commend the older lady who checked us in. She was very kind and removed the feathered pillows in my room because I am allergic to them. We've been telling the reservation people this, but hardly any one listens. Then I couldn't get the air to go lower. So she came into the room and tried to help me. The thermostats are preset so they don't waste any energy when nobody is occupying the room. She finally got it on cool and that helped. The biggest negative was that I received a phone call two days after we left. They asked us if we took the pillows in the room. When I told them about the feather thing and that I always bring my own pillows, they apologized and said they weren't accusing me! When I told them about the night lady they understood. After having an RV, going to hotels is an adventure lol! Not always pleasant! read more

I'm super conflicted; I want to like this place a give it a good review but my experience makes me want to stay ANYWHERE else in the area. Those that follow me know that I'm a list whore and by default, that is what you're gonna get. Here comes the list of lists.... The Good: I didn't get killed in my sleep. The person checking me in was super friendly. The hotel is easy to find amongst all the other hotels in the area. There was a singular ice machine in the "buy stuff" area. The less than desirable (The Bad): - There was a singular ice machine in the "buy stuff" area. When I spend a single night at a hotel and turn on the ice maker, I know I'm getting less than a full cup of ice while I'm awake and wanting ice. - There is no breakfast included. Maybe this was included in an obscure advertisement but it was news to me when I went looking for it and found none. I reckon this is a Candlewood property expectation. - I can't entirely fault the hotel but the occupant in the room above me took HEAVY STEPS all night and after all night, they continued into the morning even while I was trying to get on the road at 6AM. - The fire alarm went off. Not immediately the fault of the hotel but since the alarm only went off for a minute or two and the fire department didn't show up, it feels like an internal issue that was resolved at the hotel level meaning it shouldn't have gone off. The more I stay at IHG properties, the less I acknowledge these properties are worth my time. read more

Booked online last minute, late night and upon arriving other guest were freaking out and stating they found bed bugs. Requested a refund and the place would not refund our money. Once we got word of this we left. I have emailed and emailed with this place and They stated "Candlewood Suites Paducah, an IHG Hotel said: A full inspection was done by our pest control company and no bed bugs were found. If you have a photo of a bug in your room, please let me know. Otherwise, our property doesn't have bed bugs. I will not reverse a charge without proof that there was bed bugs in your room. Thank you for your concerns and I am sorry that I will not issue a refund at this time." We never even stayed and they won't refund. And to add to their response. I did stick around long enough to find a bed bug personally. Why would you! Gross Goes to show that they had complaints of bed bugs if they had a pest control place come in. Who would stay there after hearing this! Hope they enjoy keeping my money. Would not stay here ever! Poor customer service to say the least! read more

This place will work in a pinch. The beds and bedding were nice and the rooms clean, but it was noisy with a lot of door slamming. It is better if your staying longer as the kitchen is equipped for fixing your meals. Because of the kitchen in the rooms there is no breakfast, so an in and out like mine was not the best fit. The check in girl messed up my reservation by booking me as someone else. I gave her my ID and I should have checked the name at the top, but I was tired and didn't have my glasses so I didn't see that it was someone else's name. When I checked out, the man noticed that things didn't line up, but he spent 15 minutes and couldn't make heads or tails of it. I finally left and later we had 6 charges, none of which were the room rate. They charged us for not showing up, and then a bunch of other stuff. My husband and I spent much time working to iron that out. read more

We stayed on a Saturday night; checking in around 8p and checking out Sunday at 6a. Both ladies at the front desk were friendly and the lobby was welcoming. The room, along with the rest of what we saw in the hotel, was clean. The bed was very comfortable and blankets were warm. The water pressure was good in the shower. The tv was on a swivel, which was nice because we were able to watch tv during dinner and while winding down in bed. They don't serve breakfast, which we knew when we booked it, but the lady reminded us when we checked in, as well. We didn't need breakfast, so this wasn't an issue. They do have a mini-mart type room where you can buy snacks, drinks, laundry/toiletry items, etc. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this hotel. read more

I stayed at the Candlewood in Paducah last week on my vacation. Every year I drive from Atlanta to northern Wisconsin to take my dogs to my parents lake cabin. I leave after work, and Paducah is a great 6 hour stopping point. This was my first time at this hotel as they are pet friendly and I had my dogs with me. The guy who checked me in was great, very nice, efficient and even loved on my dogs! I am a platinum Priority Club member and was welcomed and upgraded to a great suite. The suite was very clean, comfortable and love that they have a full kitchen, which is great to keep my dog's food refrigerated while we are on the road. I will definitely be back on next year's road trip! read more

I travel to Paducah for business each month. I used to stay at HI Express, however that experience left a lot to be desired. I am a loyal Holiday Inn Platinum Member. The Candllewood is a great choice. They always treat me well. Staff is available and willing to meet my request. I will be a regular visitor. read more

We had a great time at the Candlewood this weekend. A last minute addition to our plans after our crash pad fell through, these guys really brought their A-game for us. Many thanks to Dina and Melodie on the front desk for making us smile and being so helpful. Loved the large bathroom, and I made quick and routine use of the full kitchen while I was there. Overall, it really was one of my best experiences in a hotel in a long time, plus the beds were comfortable! I highly recommend the Paducah Candlewood to anyone coming that way. read more

Staff was nice, hotel was fairly clean, and chair in room was all tore up like a cat lived on it. My biggest complaint was the entire 4th floor smelled like smoke and my room was enable worse. It was so bad I tried to move hotels, but they were all booked. read more

Stayed here for one week. 4 people in the room. Had to beg for towels daily. Was told to put our towels outside the door or that we had to bring them all downstairs and exchange them. When asked for more towels or wash rags they were never brought. We always had to go down to the front and get them. It was nothing but ridiculous. Housekeeping would actually turn away from you in halls or quickly get into elevators. We also had to take out our own trash. Having the room vacuumed is out of the question. We ran out of toilet paper.... Couldn't get any from housekeeping. Finally when going to the front desk at 10pm the nice guy there had to go all the way to the top floor to get us some. However, the lady and young man working the front desk are VERY nice and helpful. read more
