I'm so bummed! I went here for a gift for a boy who LOVES candy. I found an adorable jelly belly dispenser for $25. I thought that was kind of high for an empty candy dispenser so I went to Walmart on the way home to get a big jar of jelly beans. When I'm wrapping this gift I see that it was supposed to include a bag of jelly beans. This is so disappointing that they would remove this. None of the other dispensers had any bags of candy with them. I didn't get a receipt other wise I would go back and ask to return it. Never going back! Rip off! read more

I'm a fan of any place that has Rocky Road and U-No bars! The prices seem reasonable, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. What's it lacking? Heck, I dunno. I was looking for dark chocolate with Macademias- I would have freaked if they carried the Hawaiian Host Dark Chocolate and Macs (far better than the better known Mauna Loa brand), but alas, no. I'd have settled for Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts. Didn't see them, but they have a LOT of "Euro Chocolate"- they may have it. If the guy had a taffy pulling machine in the window, it would be a big crowd pleaser, but I think it'd take up too much room. I bet the permitting would be tough too. Better to use the space for.... candy! Come on in, find a favorite, throw down your coin, unwrap, and smile. read more

After reading the wonderful reviews I took my 9 year old daughter who is a candy Addict, but I was quickly and highly disappointed. First, it's all candy I can pretty much find anywhere else, but double the price. I was initially thrilled at the wide variety of salt water taffy until I searched for some that wasn't stale. All of it was hard as a rock. I even commented to the staff. It wasn't her fault of course and she was very pleasant to talk to by the way. I ended up letting my daughter buy a few items, but we walked out with no taffy and I know I would have easily spent at least $20-30 on that alone. read more

I thought the visit would be primarily for him - as he loves candy. And I was prepared to use part of my gift card funds to buy him a candy or two. Then mom found the sugar free wall. And went nuts. So, after grabbing Chuck Box for lunch with my Suitemate one day, we decided to proceed to Candy Addict to find out about this new Candy spot we heard about through Yelp. It was a great experience! Here are a couple reasons why... 1. The owner was awesome! Very friendly and had a good laid back joking attitude. Told us whatever we wanted to know about the store and when the change came to like .46 cents or something, he just gave me two quarters. Thank you for not making me store all that useless change! He also offered these little extra candies with our (small) purchase. 2. The selection is great! I'm not sure if I saw cookie dough bites (I'd have to check in again), but they have bottle caps and nerds at great prices! The store is very neat and clean as well, which is a major plus. 3. The proximity to college! It is definitely a fun run with a few friends in between classes to stock up on the dorm room sweets. Head over there and check it out! read more

One of the highlights of a recent business visit to the Valley, as this terrific candy store is located right in the middle (between 4th & 5th Streets) of the great Mill Avenue downtown district, and offers an amazing collection of candy and chocolate, including some truly unique options. Size matters. The sheer variety of the stock here makes up for some of its vagaries in stocking. In recent months, there's been a shift away from retro candies and toward the kind of candies that look imported and exotic but actually are widely stocked by supermarkets. (Since Smeeks also cut back on retro candies, I'm wondering if the concept is more beloved than the actual-buying-that-helps-pay-the-rent.) So lots of familiar names like Lindt and Vosges now appear. The bins have also scaled back on the retro and even dumped the livelier Brachs offerings, though the saltwater taffy selection remains large. Prices are slightly higher than the same products at Safeway or World Market; but if you're for some reason stuck in downtown Tempe (which you might be, if you're at a conference at ASU) or if you've had too many beers at the many Mill Street bars to remember what Orbit circles a grocery store, Candy Addict is RIGHT THERE and you can stagger in and buy candy that will impress people with its overall coolth. This place is conveniently placed on Mill Ave and has a great selection of candy. I came here looking for ring pops (all the grocery stores that I went to discontinued carrying them). This brought me back to when I was a kid. This place had all the classics like dubble bubble, bit o honey, peanut butter bars, among others. Kids loved it as well of course. This might be my shortest review. This place has Zagnuts and plenty of them and they are only $1.39 each (some places charge $2). If you like zagnuts, which are crunchy peanut butter and toasted coconut you know that these aren't sold in gas stations or normal places. Luck was on my side as I wandered into the addict. They have a nice selection of candy, but I think because the space is small, they don't have as much as I was expecting. What a fantastic candy shop this is! This place has any candy you loved in the past and currently love. I was impressed by how many different things they had and then I saw they even had a lot of the British candies including smarties, toffee crunch, yorkies, buttons and dairy milk! I also love mambas and usually buy a pack and only eat 2 of the 3 colors and here you can get individual pieces of your favorite colors! They have a lot of taffy, licorice, flavored tootsie rolls, those big lollipops you get at Disneyland and so much more I can't even remember. I don't care for chocolate so I can't say what I noticed on those lines. The gal working tonight was also very nice also. I do love sweet factory and sour candies and would have liked to have seen more pick n mix type of things that included that, all of their pick n mix stuff seemed to be in individual wrappers. read more

I have a huge sweet tooth. This place is like heaven for me. They always have coupons and if you get a stamp card you get a free 1/4 pound after you buy five. They have all the candies you used to love as a kid. They also have chocolate, PEZ, salt water taffy, and pretty much any other candy you could think of. I actually love this little store. The first time I stopped in here the young woman behind the counter literally could not have been more kind. I had a young child with me and while I filled out the form for the raffle the store was having, she didn't just stand there. She engaged the girl I was with. Asked her questions, complimented her, etc. It was really refreshing to encounter customer service like that. She seemed genuinely friendly and happy to be at work. That's rare! This place is a little expensive. I came here to get a little gift for my boyfriend today (I can't share what it is - what if he reads this review?!?) and probably spent more than I should've on for what it was. BUT I absolutely love that this is a family owned business and not a chain. That's the main thing that will keep me coming back when I'm on Mill Ave every so often. read more

The selection here is comparable to any other average candy store out there. The prices are obscenely high and the selection isn't great. However, the customer service here is awesome. They aren't afraid to throw recommendations your way and you can tell they really enjoy working there. Because of this, I find myself going in here more often than to their competitors' shops. Though I'd rather purchase my candy elsewhere, Candy Addict is an A-OK shop to frequent when my sweet tooth is aching. read more
