We had Large candy apples as thank you gifts for my granddaughter's quinceañera, and chocolate covered strawberries for the dessert table. I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! Each strawberry was perfectly dipped in rich, velvety chocolate that was absolutely delicious . They were beautifully presented and made for a lovely treat that everyone enjoyed. Everyone had more than one! The candy apples were equally impressive, with a delightful crunch and just the right amount of sweetness. They added a festive touch to her celebration and were a huge hit with everyone. I'm so grateful for the quality and care that went into these treats. The candy was good. The staff felt they needed to lie about packaging in order to sell the product. My son purchased a basket of candy under false pretenses told by staff. Upon his purchase he was told by a staff member that there was another layer of candy under the top layer. Only to find out later, the top layer was being held up by a crumpled layer of paper! False advertising! As this was reported to the manager, we received nothing but excuses stating "this is the way they do their packaging". With no apology attached that we were mislead. There are too many businesses that sell homemade candy to be treated this way by one. Good luck to potential buyers. BEWARE! read more

Make sure if you place a custom order that you call at least the day before to confirm. My daughter's 16th bday custom strawberries were not made when I arrived for pick up and the order was placed 2 weeks before with written confirmation of pickup date on 11/22 at 10 am. I was told that "Derek was at a trade show and must of forgot". Until I mentioned a yelp review out of my frustration and disappointment, did the individual on the phone say he'd make them and deliver them....four hours later (party would be over by then) and when that wasn't good enough for me, he came off defensive. Really disappointed as my initial conversation via text when ordering was great! I'll take my business elsewhere next time. Bummer. read more

I put an order in with this company and paid for same day delivery. The time I put it in was at 10am I was given the time frame of delivery no later than 5pm the same day. I was told that because it was being delivered to a business it would be no later than 5pm. Once I paid almost 100 for the product I was then informed that it would not be delivered until after 8pm. I cancelled my order that same day after 5pm. I was first told onve the cancellation was submitted I would receive my refund within 24 hours. 2 days later I was told it would be returned within 3-5 business days. When I received my refund it was more than 20 less than the amount they took out of my account.! I will NEVER order from here again and I will make sure to put in as many reviews on as many platforms as I possibly can so people will know! I know they use the best reviews possible to avoid these kind of reviews but until I am satisfied with getting some kind of good customer service I will continue to put in a truthful horrible review. I stumbled across their table, downtown on First Friday. I hadn't had a candy apple in years so I was stoked to get one! They had a variety of toppings ranging from peanuts, sprinkles, toffee, etc. I decided to go with the toffee! The apples are ginormous! I bought the apple on Friday, sliced it when I got home, and just finished it today (Tuesday). Once I finished the apple, I was like damn, that was so good! I want another one! So, here I am again! Lol The shop is a 20 mins drive away from home, totally worth the drive! You can get 3 apples for $18, and they can last up to a month when refrigerated. For this visit, I got the toffee, Skor, and Praline! I'm so excited to get home and slice them up! I also got a punch card for a free apple. I'm sure I'll get the free apple in no time! Lol Though the candy apples have me sold alone, I'm looking forward to trying their other treats! They have chocolate covered bananas, strawberries, cherries, pretzels, etc.! (12/4/21 Visit) I was able to have their delicious caramel apples at the Tempe Festival of the Arts. My favorite is the Pecan Almond Praline. The great thing is they will cut up the apple if you want. Makes it easy to share! The guys working we're super friendly and again their caramel apples are the best! read more

I wish they would better enforce... or at the least recommend social distancing and mask wearing in their small lobby to help ensure the safety of their customers. Sure it's not a state mandate (which Ducey has failed at from the beginning, so doesn't say much), but it is in the best interest of the public to ensure the health of vulnerable populations. However, I just learned they offer *online ordering* and curbside pickup so that is a great option for someone trying to be safe. Glad to know. The new store at the northwest corner of W, Dunlap and 7th Avenue is a wonderful upgrade from the former commissary production space on Hatcher St. With the brighter space and attractive, well-organized displays, this new location makes buying treats an even more pleasant experience. And while parking was a bit tricky at the former commissary location, it is not an issue at this new store. Of course, the goodies are scrumptious as always. If you've ever been to the Glendale Chocolate Affaire in your lifetime, there's a good chance you've seen (and an even better chance you've tried) this locally based chocolate and candy shop. Truth be told that contrary to the business' namesake, this is not a San Francisco based operation. Nope, its a Phoenix based outfit drawing their inspiration from San Francisco chocolatiers and chocolatiers elsewhere. In addition to the Glendale Affaire, you'll find them showing off their treats at various valley Costco locations as well as First Fridays in Downtown Phoenix. And the assortment of treats is impressive. This factory is most famous for their apples which are covered in a number of different sweet assortments. In addition to the traditional caramel you'll find their apples covered in options like chocolate, M&Ms, toffee, peppermint, coconut, sprinkles, apple pie (?), or even pecans. They also make their own in house fudge, which they make in large logs and cut into any portions you want right on the spot. But when I think of San Fran Chocolate Factory, I'm thinking about the chocolate fountain. You want bananas dipped in chocolate? Done. You want strawberries covered in that sweet stuff? No problem. But for me the one item that tops them all is their chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick. A large slice of their own cheesecake gets enrobed in a coating from that chocolate fountain of theirs and almost immediately hardens to a rich thickness that makes every bite of that cheesecake rich and decadent. And I do mean rich. As in you-should-skip-dinner-and-probably-breakfast-the-next morning-if-you're-going-to-finish-this-by-yourself rich. Trust me, its worth every calorie. In addition to the items they sell at events, you can order a bunch of different items from their store or online via their website including chocolate bars, haystacks, rice krispy treats, frozen s'mores and even chocolate truffles. I ordered two dozen chocolate covered strawberries. These strawberries use to be cheaper. Now they are 30$ for 1 dozen. Insanely overpriced. I waited for these strawberries as people were coming and going with strawberries. One guy order the same thing as me and left before me. He waited 5 minutes while I waited 30 minutes. Multiple people came and left. My order was told to be put together and it wasn't. They forgot about it. I spent like 75$ and tbh I should have went with edible arrangements. They would have delivered it for around the same price. I honestly don't think I'll return. I use to be a regular here when it was San Francisco chocolate. read more

Long-time Taffy Apple customer at Safeway & Costco's. Sometimes the apples are brown in the middle, but that's OK. I called because I thought they would appreciate knowing their last batch of apples at Safeway were too green to eat. I assumed they would want to take care of that quality control issue and would be thankful I called. I couldn't hardly get my knife to cut them. They also were too sour/ green tasting, not tart as granny smith apples are. Customer service told me that's the way the "new batch came in" and HE didn't have any problem eating them even thou they were that way. He continued to say I could do the same. I let him know I was surprised he would consider his stomach more important than mine, and expecting customers to eat hard green sour apples was a ridiculous way to treat customers. LOL He then said I could alway return them. IF purchased again, the apples can not be viewed or felt with the caramel choc/nuts over them. Why would I or anyone with the same issue, want to spend $6 each again, to find out IF they are too unripe/green to eat? This is a Selfish way to treat Customers. We, all of us, deserve SF Chocolate Factory to treat us with consideration. We pay the bills. Profit should never come before Customers. read more
