Classic candy and soda stop! They had flavors of Jones soda that I had never even seen before, super cool. I LOVED the selection. I am a huge Jelly Belly gal and they had at least 15 mixes. I ended up getting the fruit bowl one. It was magical to see all the options. My asian grandma also found a few things that reminded her of her childhood which was cool to see. The variety here is incredible, and the way they keep it SO organized is really great- everything was in its place. It has a really nostalgic feel to it and is definitely a place you could spend some time and not run out of things to discuss. The staff was good! I asked for a rec for a sour candy and they recommended "lemonheads," which didn't feel very out of the box to me but was still a welcome rec. We were very excited to go to this store. The store was really cool!! They had awesome candy. I had family here visiting. The girl working was so rude!! She was young & starred at us the entire time like we were going to steal something. As we were paying, my son was looking at a toy that was already opened and the girl behind the counter screamed at him, I mean loud & stern! My mom & family were in shock! She was so rude and it was u called for. Def lost a lot of business because we were going to go back and buy a lot more. This girl shouldn't work here if she can't deal with children plus don't automatically accuse! My sons 13, I don't eve scream at him like that. I'M SO BUMMED! I used to love this candy store but recently the candy I've purchased was way over priced and old. I don't mind paying $4.00 for a pack of 10 gumballs, but they were so old that they melted together. The same with our chocolate bars. We ended up throwing it away... If I'm paying way over grocery store prices it should be fresh. I spent almost $100 on my grandkids but super disappointed with the product. Some was uneditable. I parked right by this shop and had a few minutes so decided to pop in. I have been in one of these before but it's been about a decade, and I remember them having fun stuff and they do!! The candy and soda selection here is HUGE. If you're looking for unusual sweets, this is your place! They also have a lot of kitschy retro items that make fun gifts. I'm not a big fan of regular candy but they actually have a nice selection of nice dark chocolates. I've had time to sample my purchases and my favorite is the Hammond Midnight Snack. I really cannot recommend this business. They have huge bins of saltwater taffy, and we bought a large bag on our first visit, but they were hard and clearly not fresh. That was disappointing. They do have a fun selection of candy, but the prices are insanely, insanely high. It is going to be a no from me. read more

I swear that I have left a review for this place already, but I guess I have it. This place is nostalgia all shoved into a room even if you did not live in the time that is making you feel nostalgic. All rocket fizz is have an over abundance of choices of soda pops. They also have a lot of candy and my favorite part is that they have gag gifts and also very classic. Expensive, but that's understandable. It's a specialty shop. My problem is with the girl working the counter. I'm not sure I've had a worse experience... IN A CANDY SHOP! Dude, isn't that supposed to be the happiest place on earth, sans Disneyland?? Even after I spent over $100 this girl (working at 5:45pm on Wednesday, Dec 14) was a total putz. I want to use swear words right now but I won't. Lazy and lame. Sitting down practically hiding--while coloring in a kids coloring book. Bizarre. Rocket Fizz is a pretty cool place full of unique sodas and candies of all sorts! My girlfriend and I walked around the shop picking out the sodas we thought were the most interesting. Not only that, we had a few laughs over the names and pictures on some of the soda bottle labels. I would give this place 5 stars if they actually put a price tag on all of its products. Who knew I would end up paying 22$ for a pack of large pocky when I could buy it anywhere else for 15$ or less. I was going to give this store 3 stars but the soda is so worth it. Tried to get some snacks so went across the street to Rocket Fizz. We were in, gathering items and were not greeted nor asked if we needed help as I searched for a "Whatchamacallit" . We were the ONLY customers in the store, once we figured out that the person on the floor was a worker and not a customer too. He didn't acknowledge us and then the lady comes out the back and looks at us but also does not acknowledge. I was in the area and figured hey why not stop at the candy store? When I stepped inside a preteen couple was quite obviously "sampling" a lot of the candy right next to the entrance and there were a few other tweens parading about. Aside from the saltwater taffy section, a lot of the store seems to be designed in a way that makes sense only from an interior designer's point of view. While the center tables of candy look beautifully and meticulously arranged as if it were ready for a photo shoot, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the organization of the candy which makes it hard if you are searching for a specific item. The selection includes a ton of saltwater taffy, some Nestle candy bars, hard, chewy, gummy candies, novelty candies, and some old school nostalgic selections. There's also fizzy drinks available and Rocket Fizz has their own brand of soda too. There's also a ton of nostalgic tin signs available for purchase hung up on the walls. Is the owner a boozing NRA member? ('Merica!) There seemed to be a disproportionate amount of gun and alcohol related signs which I thought was weird for a candy store. If those signs were at a place like Bass Pro Shops, Bev-Mo or a gun shop, sure I can see those hung up and it would be very fitting. Hey I like booze and target practice almost as much as the next person but it seems out of place right next to your Whirly Pop and chocolate Band-Aids. One stepping into the store with no knowledge of American history might think that the "good 'ol days" consisted of people that vacillated between drinkin' and shootin' things (Might not be too far from the truth). There were also some very cool signs from bands like Motorhead and a fair amount of superhero signs. Overall I did end up finding what I was looking for (A difficult to find nostalgic type hard candy) but only because it was offered in a box right at the counter. I didn't even know there was another section with this type of candy on one of the tables until the cashier went over and brought them over to me. In general I liked the selection at Rocket Fizz but I like the organization of Sweeties a lot better. Sure Sweeties is set up more like a warehouse and their candy layout doesn't look as cool but on a practical level it's so much easier to find and browse through their store. read more

This place is magical. From a wide selection of soda to tin artwork, bundles of unique candies to little knick knacks, there's plenty to buy. In a recent episode of Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmern drank a bottle of ranch dressing flavored soda. As serendipity would have it, Rocket Fizz also carried the concoction. We bought a bottle, shared it, and it was a fun highlight to an ordinary Friday. It tasted like cream soda with ranch dressing. Not exactly a tasty flavor combination but it's all in good fun. You walk in, and it's incredible, the atmosphere and the ambiance, are truly special. The plethora of options in the novelty candy and sodas is unmatched. It's a smaller store, and with that comes wisdom with the type of candies, sodas, etc put in the store, you can truly tell that the products displayed are carefully chosen, always seasonally accurate, appealing to all ages, rare to find elsewhere. The way the products are displayed show some true heart and effort put into making sure the customer gets a genuine nostalgic experience. The nostalgic vintage music brings you back even if you never grew up on that music. Despite the prices being somewhat higher( still nothing crazy), which one can understand considering this is a small business and not a department store, to say it's a fun store is an underwhelming description, the couple that own the store truly pour their heart into it and it shows as soon as you walk in. If you're in the Gilbert area, I would absolutely check it out, it's definitely a must see for everyone grandparents, parents, kids, friends, just about anyone will enjoy! read more

If you want a variety of sodas, and specifically root beer or cream soda, then this place is worth visiting. It is reminiscent of a candy store long gone as there is a very nostalgic feel. I don't drink soda or eat candy but if I appreciate the fact that they sell brands you cannot get in most places. I like the idea of soda in a glass bottle and prefer cane sugar over HFCS even though your body doesn't know the difference. I also feel that is this is a store for adults. read more
