An unsuspecting location, a tiny sized store, but loaded with myriads choices of candy!!! Upon entry of the shop, I was swamped with nostalgia. So many choices, so many colors, it took me a bit of time to settle down and actually see the items clearly! The Nerds candy stood out, as I haven't had these in at least ten years. Then came the other items: a whole collection of Hello Kitty Pez dispensers (I had to resist), rock candy, licorice, wine gums, jawbreakers, saltwater taffy....you name it, they'll have it. I'm amazed at their selection, and how they're able to fit everything into such a small shop. Don't miss this shop as you'll find something for sure!

We almost gave up on this place because the original Yelp address looked like you needed a car to get there... but the candy spirits were looking out for us and we found this cute, itty bitty shop just a short straight walk and a left from the ferry terminal World's Smallest Candy Shop here I come! When they said it was small, it's small! Meaning about 4 people can comfortably browse in that shop. Once it cleared out a little, I skipped and giggled my way in. I truly, TRULY felt like a kid in a candy store! Whoever organized this candy store was a genius or a genie because I have no clue how they were able to pack so much goodness in this cubicle of a store! Left, right, up, down, sideways, skyways, there is sugar and all things your dentist and dietitian may cringe but everything in moderation right? or not! ;) I was overwhelmed and over stimulated with all the different types of goodies there were... Nerds, Taffy, Bonbons, Salt water taffies, Sour candies, Chocolates, Chips, Pez, Sour keys, caramels, everything your sweet taste buds desire, or maybe even something they don't expect! I enjoyed browsing all the different snacks from different places, like Walker Chips from London - Shrimp Cocktail flavor is yum! I especially enjoyed the range of hard, chewy BonBons they had on their wall. The lady working there was so sweet and was more than willing and helpful in picking up 4 bonbons of each flavour (must have been at least 8 flavours.. apple, blue raz, watermelon, cola, chocolate, lemon, cherry, peach, rhubarb, and more!) Jumping with joy with my bag of Bonbons... enough said... you MUST visit!

Super cute shop advertised as the "Smallest Candy Store". The owner was super nice and let us try some sweets before buying.

I was visiting friends in the area & drove along Marine Dr when I saw the sign ... Kandy heaven here with a big arrow pointing at it! LOL in my dreams! Ricardo apparently has another shop somewhere up the road & decided to open this massive candy shop right here at White Rock Beach. It seems there's a correlation between toking up Zaza & getting crazy munchies in your belly! The previous candy shops I've reviewed have had Mary J connections (usually a cannabis store next door) & appear to go hand in hand. Regardless, speaking as the strictly sugar addicted lunatic that I am, RKK offers a wide variety of candy selection & humongous gummie options up for grabs! I could see I wasn't the only one with eyes popping out of our skulls as we admired the selection ... kids were jumping around in glee & the moms were smiling ear to ear taken back to their childhood favourite candy being right in front of them. It's incredible to see the number of candy shops springing up due to the pandemic & ongoing border closure (cannot drive down, essential status only) with the States! Almost makes one wish it would stay closed longer ... hee hee! So future candy shops keep opening up & importing all that awesome stuff, Cheetos, ice-cream, Lay's, Pez, Rap Snacks, Dunkaroos et cetera ... LMAO! Ps health conscious nuts need not apply!

Special shout-out to the heavenly cheese selection and the cute and clean premises. They also have an Italian pork jowl that I can't find anywhere else in town. We got a LOT of stuff there, including crackers, pate, cheeses, jams, and a bunch of other items, all of which sort of flatlined. Now, in McLean's defense, the pate and cheeses were the only things they brought in specifically under their name. And the place was EXTREMELY cute, and they served sandwiches, and the owner was friendly and on premesis, and they'd let you bring wine if you wanted... ...but really, everything flatlined. The fig crackers tasted like prunes. The sheep's brie was overly strong in flavor, almost off-tasting. The porter cheddar tasted like...plain cheddar. The pate was bland. One standout was a cheese (I forget the name) which had a line of gorgonzola down the centre. Really, of everything we bought, this is the only thing I'd consider re-purchasing. Now I don't want to rule this place out based on one trip, but it *was* expensive (some of the crackers and jams were way over-priced) and I *was* disappointed, considering how it's touted around town as being wonderful. I like to support local businesses, so I will be back to purchase a significantly smaller portion of cheese. Till then...

They have some bar-height tables made out of some barrels - I would not sit here. Service Quality: Staff was attentive and knew the menu well. They recommend getting a wide variety of dishes since it is tapas. Menu Variety: Great selection of spanish tapas. There's fish, meat, seafood, veggies - there is something for everyone. You won't find the lesser known tapas here - just the main popular ones we all know. Food Presentation: Simple, nothing crazy here. Plated with intention. Food Taste and Quality: Food came to the table hot and fresh out of the kitchen. Some of the patatas bravas were a bit undercooked - for me there was a bit too much sauce here. They also have the shishito peppers here - even though 1 out of 10 are spicy, it was more like 5 out of 10 were spicy. Luckily they were all grilled to perfection. The cod fritters were great, would order again. Portion Sizes: You'll need to order at least 5 dishes for a table of 2. Drink Selection: Simple cocktail menu with a spanish twist to them - if you really want to call it a "spanish cocktail". Price and Value: Good value for money, priced just right. Overall Experience and Recommendation: Make sure you make a reservation cause if not you'll be waiting and by the time you look for another restaurant for dinner - everything will be closed (cause its Bowen Island). I tried it, I would try the other restaurants on the island first before coming back.

Spanish tapas style, we ordered about 6 dishes and bread and we were pretty full. Also sangria. Food was fantastic, everything we ordered had so much flavor, my favourite was the orzo salad and the shrimp. A little surprise that Bowen Island had this little gem. Due to Covid protocols only patio was open, which worked fine for us, also set up socially distance. Great service. Recommend you making reservation, we didn't but came right when they opened lucked out with a table. It got pretty busy 15 minutes after we arrived. Overall, I was very impressed. We will be back!
