Yo this place is so cute. It's got sweets from all around the world. Liquorice, Kit Kat, Pez, Swedish candy, etc. The owner Max is so cool he even showed me all the exotic Asian stuff that I cannot usually find in the States. I ended up buying Wasabi Kit Kat and Ginger Candy.

What a hidden gem! It's rare to find places like this anymore. The owner, Max, clearly pours his heart into the shop, running it himself and curating an incredible selection of unique candies from around the world. Also had the best gummy bears I've ever eaten!

Love Swiss Chocolate. Yummy Driver delivered it to the wrong address, ours was the one across the street, nearly ruined our Valentines Day plans.

Normally candy stores are a no-entry zone for me. A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips. Yeah, like I made that up. If I wanted a Snickers, I'll just order a box on Amazon Prime and devour them in a dark closet...in shame. But Candy's had an allure that I can summarize in two words: Japanese Kit Kats. OK, that's three words but still. Oh gosh, $9.99 for a bag of them. Steep but wait, if I buy two, I can get a third for half-off. A deal is a deal, right? Mint. Matcha. Banana Caramel. Custard Pudding. I bought them all. For friends, for neighbors. Yeah, right. A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips. CANDY - 4 stars...yes please AMBIANCE - 4 stars...festive SERVICE - 3.5 stars...engaged enough TOTAL - 4 stars...Japanese Kit Kats are not manju but good for a fix RELATED - Lost in the Haight? I've heard that Swedish candy is hard to find and shipping can take a while, so the freshness of Max's selections really surprised me.

There is a place which sells chocolate from Switzerland and the Philippines and if you are sour because it's Monday or just everyday of the week in SF you should visit a place called Giddy. On Spring stroll in my old school stomping grounds I walked on Noe street and landed on Market at Giddy. Inside it's a candy store with lots of variety of gummies and licorice along with some international chocolate from the Ecuador and the Philippines. What you will also find a lot of varieties of candies which are very sour like some in SF. You will find lots of sour fizzy chewy cherries along sour mango belts. You will also find the classic sour cherry balls and berry sour foamy and sour strawberry and lemon butterflies along with a favorite from Sweden known as Bubs which is a sour strawberry and lemons skull gummy. Giddy is a good place to get sweet or sour. Sour is how you "felt" on a Monday when the chocolate in your pocket on a hot day "melt" and the best way in the past how it was "dealt" is go grab for a sour "gummy cherry belt" On Market street there lots of places for foods I have "eaten"some want on a cheat day a place for some "cheatin" at a place with chocolate from Ecuador , Philippines and Switzerland which is a bit "sweeten" and some like it sour like the strawberry and lemon skulls called Bubs which are from "Sweden"

You can tell there's real thought and craftsmanship behind everything they make. I overheard that they've created over 200 flavors of fudge - all my grandma made was chocolate walnut! Beyond the product itself, the shop is always spotless, well-organized, and inviting. It feels intentional and cared for, which makes the experience that much better. I've been coming here for years, and honestly, it's impressive how the quality and overall experience have only gotten better over time rather than slipping. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and happy to help -- whether you're sampling (you can sample as much as you want!), asking questions, or just browsing. You never feel rushed, and it's clear they genuinely care about what they're selling and the people walking through the door. If you're looking for exceptional fudge, thoughtful flavors you won't find everywhere else, and a shop that clearly takes pride in what it does, Z Cioccolato is a must. A true SF gem that keeps raising the (candy) bar.

I love butter cream frosting but never had strawberry buttercream so I was skeptical! But yes it was really good as well!! The combination of both really satisfied my sweet tooth. They are made with coarsely ground almonds with the skins intact. They do not add any food coloring or processed flavorings, so they are distinctly rustic and natural. Their Italian Meringue Cupcake is a rich Double-Chocolate cake with a light and fluffy marshmallow-like texture makes me think of a hostess cupcake. I had two yellow cream cheese frosting gingerbread cupcakes, raspberry chocolate and strawberry vanilla cupcake. I am happy with the selection I received which is a great way to try and determine if this bakery knows how to make a good cupcake. I enjoyed their carrot cake cupcake.
