After hours of dancing at the Carnival, my girlfriend and I needed a break before heading home. Since she had never been to Dandelion Chocolate, I knew it would be the perfect spot to unwind. I ordered an decaffeinated Americano, which was made to perfection. She hot chocolate that was topped with a marshmallow and was absolutely gushing over it the entire time. Beyond the drinks, the inside of this location is stunning. It's so chic and beautiful, from the gorgeous plants and large windows to the gold trim and chandelier. It is easily my absolute favorite location. It was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing day. Staff was so sweet and very friendly even at the end of their work day. CC accepted. Restroom available Oat milk available

Fantastic vibes at this spot. High ceilings, black and gold aesthetic, clean fresh feel, the smell of chocolate lingering in the air... I got the Nibby Horchata (dairy-free), which is made of almonds, hazelnuts, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and rice, it came out within a minute, and I sat down to do some work. It was a tasty drink, at a good price point (for SF especially), though I do think some oat or cow's milk would have added some more robust creaminess. I think I'd try the iced chocolate chai next time! My friends loved their cacao smoothie and frozen mocha. The wifi is fast and reliable, the music plays softly in the background without being overwhelming (and the rest of the volume level is just low-level chatter, not too loud and not too quiet), and there's plenty of natural light. It's a wonderful spot!

Dandelion chocolate factory in San Francisco is an absolute paradise for any dessert lover! This vibrant, bean to bar wonderland features a gorgeous industrial chic cafe, an enticing chocolate tasting wall, and the richest, most decadent European hot chocolate in the entire Bay Area.Stepping through the doors of this Mission District gem is an experience all on its own. The entire space smells absolutely divine, wrapping you in a warm, comforting hug of pure cacao. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the ethical, single origin practices that go into every single bar.

One of the best chocolate places in the Bay Area. So many delicious top tier varieties of chocolate. Great quality and a little pricey, but worth it. I love the thick European hot chocolate! Try it. There is an entirely pleasant Bloom Room with comfy seats and homemade marshmallows. The service is knowledgeable and friendly. They sell quality chocolate products and know it. Try booking room on the tour if you want to dive more into chocolate lore.

This location is wonderful! I would love to do the factory tour one day, but for now, I am content to sit in their wondrous indoor dining area. How do I describe it? It's glass-walled, large windows, cool lighting, and plush seating. It's great for meetings! I love the Frozen chocolate, their house made marshmallows, hot chocolate, mocha, and more. They also host some cool 1-day fairs, showcasing local artisans and other chocolatiers! Service is always great. I love coming here for gifts.

I've been a fan of Dandelion Chocolate for a while now. I had read an article about their hot chocolate's years ago and ordered a sampler, 3 types, in beautiful glass jars. All were delicious. We stopped by while in SF a couple of years ago to pick up more hot chocolate for home and I discovered they do factory tours. Well, we finally made it to one with friends. The cost is very reasonable and at the end you have a choice of a hot or cold beverage. We had the mission hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate and European drinking chocolate. All were very good. The tour was great. We learned about the different cocoa beans and even got to taste a fresh, raw bean. As we progressed through the factory we got to try the freshly roasted beans and chocolate at various stages of production, ending with a spectacular single origin truffle. Wow. The chocolate is so good and the tour was great. I'm bad with names, but the tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. I would recommend this tour to everyone. We hope to return someday for a chocolate making class.

Greta spot for chocolate lovers! I would pass on the chocolate drinks and opt for water and pair it with their yummy pastries. The chocolate orange pastry was especially delicious. It wasn't overly rich and the slight citrus flavor provides a refreshing bite. There's comfortable seating and even WiFi, lots of people were on their laptops working!

This place is awesome, I first came to know of Dandelion chocolate when I went into there Valencia St location. I had never heard of them prior to that, but my love of Chocolate wouldn't allow me to pass this place up. I've tried their speciality chocolate beverages, and delicious pastries. Which is a 10/10, this place specializes in Dark Chocolate. To be honest I've never been a fan of it, due to its bitter taste. But Dandelion has made me a fan. I was browsing on their website one day and seen that they offer various types of Chocolate making classes. Such as chocolate tempering, Chocolate making, couples chocolate making classes etc. which all peaked my interest. So I finally decided to book a class and went with the Chocolate Bar Making Class for a friend and I. When I arrived we were greeted by our instructor Steve I believe his name was. He was awesome and very knowledgeable. We got a tour of the factory and tested out some fresh Brazilian Dark Chocolate they made which was great. The great thing about there dark chocolate is depending on the type of Cocoa and where it's from the flavor profile differs. Some more sweeter and some a bit more on the bitter side. Dandelion's chocolate is only made of Cocoa and Sugar, no fillers or fake flavors to enhance there chocolate. During the session we tasted different types of dark chocolate from different regions, and got a lesson in how the cultivate their chocolate and how they make it. We even tasted some of their amazing sipping chocolate which was amazing. Then for the good part making my own chocolate bar. We went into their kitchen where we made our chocolate bars and got to customize them. When making the chocolate bar we used a Brazilian dark chocolate which tasted a lot like a milk chocolate bar; it was great. The entire session was about 1 in half to 2 hours for 100 dollars. Note this location also is a cafe so you can get all their speciality drinks, pastries, and ready made chocolate bars here too! Overall, it was a great experience coming to Dandelion Chocolate. If you have a sweet tooth and looking for an activity to do for date night or just to learn something new. This is definitely a spot you'll enjoy in the city!

My friend and I came here to take the Chocolate Factory tour and we learned a lot! Walking into any Dandelion Chocolate location you are immediately hit with the smell of freshly roasted cocoa beans. Our tour guide walked us through the entire production line, from sourcing the raw cacao pulp all the way to the finished chocolate bars. Along the way, we got to taste plenty of samples! The tour wrapped up with a choice of hot or cold cocoa from their café. It was the perfect way to enjoy the flavors one last time. Then we shopped in their cafe for to-go items! At $20 a person, it's a delicious, immersive experience that any chocolate lover should try once. Note, we went on a day where the factory was not in operation, but it meant that we could hear our tour guide well. (Head's up: Yes you will need to wear a hairnet on the tour!)

Visiting the city again, on a cold foggy morning, we just had to come here for some great chocolate! And we were not disappointed! Stepping in from the dreary outside of the Mission to this classy place was like a Hollywood movie - smart, hip and clean! First impressions checked off! The sit-down menu printed in small font was posted by the order register, but their main menu board up on the corner was easy to read and well-organized. We ordered the spicy Mission Hot Chocolate and the House Mocha. Whoa! Talk about smooth and decadent! The Mission was a dark hot chocolate with a punchy spicy kick that really set off my saliva glands! But the hot spice was not just for kicks, rather it blended so well with the chocolate that it seems so natural together. The House Mocha was a hot chocolate with a double shot of espresso. Wow! We ordered it with an extra marshmallow on top, and that sweetness sets up a rich, chocolate flavor, followed by the beautifully strong espresso kick. Surprising and delicious! We also ordered some breakfast items - the Overnight Oats and Babka French Toast - both naturally delicious. And this means that they are not overly sweet, which may turn off some people expecting sugar, sugar, sugar. I like the clean taste of all of the fresh ingredients, and it harkens back to the simpler times of yesteryear. So refreshing! Check out the assortment of chocolate bars across the lobby. There some really interesting and unique chocolates from around the world that you may not find anywhere else in the Bay Area. There is even a generous offerings of free samples across a long shelf. Definitely check them out! Finally, I really appreciate the staff. They were all friendly and their dedication really shows. As we were eating, a staff member came by to ask if we received our full order. Another came through the eating area asking everyone if they were the owners of a stray dog outside. Caring people is a rarity now days, and it is heartening to see in this day in time.

Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by to sample some dark chocolate and order my favorite frozen hot chocolate! It's somehow rich and refreshing at the same time. The mini cookie the drinks come with is also delicious. Dandelion is a perfect place to shop for gifts for yourself or friends and family. I highly recommend the hojicha hot chocolate mix, the gâteau, and their chocolate covered Japanese citrus collection! They're seasonal items and a bit pricey but absolutely worth it.

    What is a timbale?
    Sally Y.

I learned that a lot of chocolates sold in supermarkets have bad ingredients, so knowing that there's Dandelion reassures the chocolate lover in me that quality chocolates can be found in the city! My niece bought the pistachio praline cake and it is tdf: densely moist chocolate cake layered with praline ganache, pistachio buttercream and crunchy praline pistacio on top. She also gave me a pumpkin pie timbale, encased in a ribboned gift box, along with a card describing its origin. Across from the SF SPCA, this shop has a cafe and even holds chocolate making classes - a great place to buy exceptional chocolates as presents!

I really like that you can choose exactly how many of each flavor you want in your box. There was also a vegan raspberry option since the regular raspberry had sold out for the day, and honestly you couldn't tell the difference. It was delicious. I also tried the lemon in store, and the raspberry was my favorite. One small thing is that once they're bagged up, it can be a little hard to tell which flavor is which since they look pretty similar on the outside.
