Chocolate is sold by the weight either in bags, or boxes. Since I was purchasing chocolate for only myself on this visit, I chose the bag option. 12 pieces & a variety of chocolate later, my purchase total came to $11.99. Not bad when you consider that the ladies place two free samples inside of the bag as a thank you. Yhe chocolates taste about as fresh as the day it was made, with a deliciousness that I can describe as rich, creamy, and slightly potent with the flavoring. See's Candies is still phenomenal! The bakery had told me the cake should not be out for more than 2 hours. The drive to the Hallmark nearest my house from the bakery was already an hour. So was the Christmas in July line in this Hallmark. There was no warning sign on the door; the only indication of any event was an unmanned table with brown slices of apple, and plastic bottles of water (probably warm). There was a very long line, but no indication that I should have simply gone elsewhere for candles because the line would continue not to move at a reasonable pace. When I finally got up to register, the woman said that I could have let them know earlier that I was not getting ornaments, and they would have helped me sooner. Obviously, that does nothing for ruining this $80 custom birthday cake this year. ZERO STARS for poor communication and rotten service to any customer not purchasing loads of ornaments.

When my mom paid the clerk didn't even thank her, just directed her to slide her card. Then I too purchased an item, and the clerk handed me my change, and she walked away. I said to her: "Thank you- but - is it all you do is transactions, and no 'Thank You's?' " she said "What?" I repeated it and then she just stared with a blank stare. So I said.."A 'Thank You'?- is that too hard to say to myself and my Mother? She then said, "Oh have a good day?".(reluctantly) I then said "You were very rude to my mom!". She spent over $130 Someday she will be old, and may not hear 100%, I hope she is never treated like that. We will not be back.

Having just talked about some fun little holiday gifts for our mail carrier, dog sitter, and handyman, it seemed the perfect thing. Been a long time fan of See's Candies going back many years. The shop is small - I'm guessing it's starting out as a "seasonal shop and let's see how we do" sort of thing. So the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is we were really hoping for the candy case with all the yummy individual candies that See's is famous for. But the staff were super nice, and the selection for holiday gift goodies was very good. Prices are, well, "candy store" prices - not "dollar store prices" but you'd expect that from a quality brand store like See's. I really hope they stay on and build out the full "See's Candies" experience that so many of us know over decades. Nice little store.

You would think that this would be a quick and simple process... Not. We located exactly what we needed almost immediately. $2.59. Easy self-serve cash purchase and we would be right out... Not. Although there was almost no one at the self checkout, each and EVERY register was posted "card only." So much for self checkout. There were only two "human" cashiers open, so there were lines. So as we waited with our small single purchase and three dollars in hand... there we waited for several minutes. When we were finally rang up, the price was well over $3. And after checking our receipt on our way out of the store, we noticed that we were charge $2.99 plus tax... Needless to say, the shelf price was out of date. There was no visible management to be seen, and what should have taken us less than five minutes, was quickly reaching closer to twenty. And to top it off, the cashier didn't even have any quarters or dimes in their cash register... Change came in pennies and nickels. Terrible service from the bottom up. Next time we'll shop across the highway at Walmart.
