    Candy and then some.
    Josh G.

Sing it folks! You know the words (maybe). No, not The Simpson's version about garbage. We're talkin' about chocolate, nougat, caramel. The Candyman! Okay, we're actually talking about a candy shop, not Sammy Davis Jr. (or any version of that song). The Candyman, up in Orient, will fill your sweet tooth with just what you need, and not only with candy. My lady and I stopped in when heading out east (back at the end of the summer) and grabbed a few tasty items to gobble down later on. Heading to the end of the North Fork will make it almost certain that you'll cross paths with The Candyman (not the creepy B-horror movie chap). It's a small storefront and looks like a relic amongst more modern businesses that are building up on the LI forks. Don't let that sway you. Make the stop! Once inside you'll see how this is a vintage setup. Things seem family-owned (whether they are, I cannot say). Bags of chocolate-covered pretzels, marshmallows, Oreos, and plenty of other goodies line the walls. The display case is filled with truffles, jellies, and creams of varying flavors. Basically, you'd be hard-pressed in not finding something you'd wanna buy. Price-wise things are decent. You can grab 1/4 pound of candies for $4.50 which will pack in quite a few pieces. That's what my girlfriend and I did (to later dive into while sitting on the beach). Each piece we got (orange cream, caramel, peppermint, raspberry, and a few others) tasted homemade and not something from a Hershey's factory. It was a locally sweet treat to end the summer. Overall, The Candyman is a quality confectionary spot worthy of your sugar intake. It may be far off in Northeastern LI so it won't be something you'll necessarily visit often, but if you're heading out yonder, do yourself a favor and visit The Candyman. No singing is required.

come off the ferry it was pouring rain I had passed but this place many times but never stopped, but this day I had a craving its store filled with glass counters offering lots of chocolates of all types I bought half a pound of stuff I know I like from other candy stores (to be exact bom boys in MD) I have to believe no one can be as good as that place this place is pretty good dark chocolate orange peels turtles and raspberry jellys the gal working was not all that friendly but she wasn't unfriendly such a location is not worth taking a trip but if your going on the ferry and need a sweet stop in ps its not cheap

The best chocolates on the north fork! There's nothing else like it, the smell when you walk in says it all. Everything is made in house and the variety of flavors are amazing. I hope these guys are around forever, 5 stars!!

Came here for the first time today and purchased their milk chocolate caramels...a little pricey at 9 pcs for $6, but very good! The quality of the chocolate is very good and the caramel is soft, rich and creamy...yum! I should have bought a larger package.

Nice little candy shop in Orient in a blink and you'll miss it spot along Rte 25. A nice selection of chocolates and other sweets. Tried the dark chocolate mint melt away and it was great. Tried the sweet licorice as well, though not great, was still good. Prices are a little high but the chocolate was great quality. The staff were nice as well. Will definitely come back and recommend visiting this place. Try the chocolate!

Waaayyyy too overpriced for what you get. The majority of the candy can be bought at other stores for way less money.

What a disappointment, clearly capitalizing on the old time-y feel and its location near basically nothing else.

Good fresh home made chocolate, prices are good as well. Not being a chocolate person I found a few good things to leave with and try.
