The Love Lane Sweet Shoppe you get that immediate feeling of a transport back in time. Once you walk past the cabinets of chocolate and other sweets, you can peruse through all the cute items here. This shop reflect the character of the North Fork and especially Love Lane. The staff here is delightful. I like when a staff is proud of where they are. They were very excited to share their favorite items with us. After we spent a while looking at all the fun games, puzzles and personalized products we made out way to the candy. We could not leave without purchasing some chocolate for the walk on Love Lane. Yum, their dark chocolate "turtles, and pralines" were amazing. We're looking forward to the trip back just to buy some more. KUDO's to Love Lane Sweet Shop and the team.

I've had a lot of clam chowder over the years, and the only bowl that beats this one is from Legal Seafoods in Boston. That's saying a lot. We followed that with the seafood cakes, which were fantastic, and the pork pate, which was excellent as well. The staff was warm and attentive throughout, and our waitress Erica was wonderful, friendly, quick, and clearly knew the menu well. Only note: prices run a bit steep. We stuck to water/appetizers and still walked away with a solid bill for two chowders, one order of seafood cakes, and one order of pork pate. But between the food, the decor, and the overall ambiance, it was very nice experience. Highly recommend.

We found Red Rooster Bistro and thought it looked very cute. It is a lovely little building, looks like a French country house. My mother and I each order the portobello mushroom, her with cheese and me without cheese. We also ordered the beet salad. My brother had the pasta and my sister in law had chicken and salad. They loved their pasta and chicken. My mother and I were not as thrilled. The mushroom was tiny, buried under greens. I had expected a decent sized mushroom but ours were so small. I am glad we also ordered the beet salad, which was mostly greens but the beets were good. They also ordered the flourless chocolate cake, which they enjoyed. The server was excellent, and I enjoyed my glass of wine. I also loved the ambiance. French restaurants are always a bit of a challenge for me ( I am vegan) but honestly, they need to use bigger mushrooms and maybe add a veggie burger to the menu?

The Village Cheese Shop - Holy moly is this good! Formager D'Affinois. A better, creamier, more delicious version of Brie but without the strong rind flavor.

Upon entering there were no other customers in the store. The store was neat and clean. A blonde woman standing at the back counter looked up from her phone at us and then went back to her phone. As another couple walked in someone else came out from the back and greeted the new couple. We worked our way back to the woman at the back counter and inquired about a cheese board. She told us we could order one and the amount of time it would take to have one made. We asked if they did cheese boards to sit and have to eat now, and I quote, "No we are not a cafe, we don't serve food in store like that". As we continued around the shop many more couples entered the store. We worked our way back around to the cheese counter to place our order. Once it was our turn the blonde woman, who originally snubbed us as we walked in, asked what we needed. As we started to order she asked us to hold on and called another girl from the back to continue helping us. The other girl was very friendly, and informational and even made some recommendations. We purchased a number of cheeses and other accoutrements. As we were checking out, a couple walked in and asked if they did fondue. The blonde woman was friendly and set them up at a table in the back to have fondue for 2. We proceeded to take our items and leave. If you like Brie you need to try the Truffle Brie! It is absolutely delicious! So much so that my girlfriend went back in to buy more for guests we were having over the next day. The cheese and the selection is great. The shop is cute and clean and apparently depending on who you are or who you're with, depends on how you will be treated.
